Damn, Whole Foods, youd better just step aside. Mothers Market and Kitchen is one of the nicest healthy grocery stores Ive ever visited. I went to the Signal Hill location with a friend the other day (it was my first time shopping there), and was really impressed with the cleanliness of the store, the crisp merchandising, and the prices. Kind of a smaller store, but the selection was outstanding. Again, compared to WFM, it was very reasonable. We shared a quick snack of prepared lasagna, and it was as good as anything youd get in a restaurant, at half the price. We also enjoyed some delicious peanut butter cookies. I love that they strongly discourage solicitors outside the front door, which was very refreshing. Theres ample parking and theres also a nice outdoor dining area. Glad to know theyre in the Long Beach area now!

The breakfast special for $4.99 until 9 am is a pretty good deal. Today I got the chilaquiles. They have vegan options if you want that. The order came out pretty fast and comes with a coffee or tea.

I ordered to go order through grubhub from mothers.. omelette with fire roasted salsa and a side of fruit. The fruit was moldy and the salsa was missing. Come on, mothers, do a better job and quality control!! I rely on them for brunch for my kids and this is what I get.

Been eating at various mothers for over a decade with mo issues. Todays meal was pretty bad. The chicken was dry, and it and the bun were noticeably burned. The potato tacos were good but the rice and bean sides werent cooked well enough. Also the person at the food register kept ignoring us to talk to their coworker, literally asking for our order then once we started talking she just turned away, take to her coworker again, didnt hear our order and made us repeat it. Ill probably not go back to the hot food bar here anymore

I ordered the grass-fed burger from the cafe and I enjoyed it with complete and utter satisfaction. This is the best burger I’ve had all year. Friendly and welcoming staff. It was overall just a great experience. I was also able to charge my car! Just wonderful. Please continue to provide this excellence. Also, it might be quite beneficial to add more J-plug chargers. Just a suggestion. Definitely worth five stars.

Just went to buy water melon for .79 cents per lbs and Shelby charged me .89cents per lbsI noticed it in the car and already put my groceries in the trunk,I went back to the cashier Sheilby and told her she over charge me for the water melon for 10 cents more and she said to be able to return adjust the price she would need the see the item, I have my receipt and showed it to her and still insist that she needs to see the item to adjust the price,I left not satisfied with the service I got from Shelby.I called the manager right away and told her on what happened and Shelby could have just adjusted the price.The manager apologized for Shelby’s error.

This is the place in the area to get raw milk and raw cream. I love how they serve coffee in the morning. Actually, it is self serve which is even better. Although the cups a slightly too flimsy for the caps and it is tedious to get the cap on without bending part of the coffee cup. It is not a big deal though. The outside patio has a nice view.

Im glad that we finally have one in Long Beach. Always a pleasure to shop in this store. Awesome fresh deli items. The staff is very friendly and helpful in deciding what to get and lets you try before purchasing. I love the vegan chocolate pudding. There is avocado in it and it tastes very smooth. I also love the juice bar and Cafe. They sometimes have great deals for early risers in terms of breakfast.

One of the best things about this place that I like is you can pick up some pre-made food even late at night. Well, obviously before they close, but what I mean is that they have food that you can have for the next day. Their produce section is always really good. And the staff is very friendly. And of course I have a lot of the natural products in the back.

Favorite market in the area. Terrific dietary restriction alternatives to offer and a really great selection of wine/spirits. I usually love mothers, typically I go to the one in laguna woods or Santa Ana (broader selection). However today a girl in a sweatshirt rang me up and she coughed on her hand before directly touching my drink (gross, much?) then she leaves the items in front of the register doesn’t even slide them towards me so I can easily take my items and go. Very unprofessional, wouldn’t recommend this particular location.

The only reason Im giving them a 1 is because of the customer service. Ive been coming here weekly for 2 years... within the recent year theyve hired newer girls at the register... the previous staff would always greet you coming in, and talk to you at the checkout. Ive noticed the 2 with the longest acrylic nails are the worst. The heavier set one will ring one of your items and check her phone instead of hurrying up to finish ringing up the rest of our items.Ive held back after a few months, but it looks like this hasnt been addressed...or maybe they dont care to address it?Its beginning to make the experience here unbearable...I honestly just want to start going somewhere else, than having to be upset of their lack of customer service.

After shopping this location periodically for the past 6 months I can comfortably give them a unbiased 1 Star.1 star feels excessive for a place that has a 4.5 out of 700, but none of the good outweighs the poor customer service.In the past I’ve traveled across the country while working and frequented many Famers Markets Erewhon, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Lassen’s, Natural Grocers even friggin Goodwin’s and never not once have I been subjected to customer service so shiddy.Example: I walk in smiling, no greeting. If facial expressions could talk hers would say “FML another customer?” I shop and order from the cafe. The cafe employees are generally courteous and professional.The young girls at the front register are disrespectful. I ring up with the young lifeless one and after paying with no words exchanged she bags half my stuff and starts ringing up the guy behind me. I’m walking out clueless and she calls to me “you’re leaving your stuff”, I ask “why didn’t you bag it all?” and she responds with these exact words “I have other customers”.I had maybe 7 small items and my bag had ample space. I asked her if her next customer was more important than her current and she just ignored me.If this happened at my local store Erewhon, I would never see her again. I’m serious. She would probably be fired that day. Management probably knows these girls personally or can’t find anyone to replace them. There are other negative reviews about these girls.At some point corporate needs to know about this and maybe management and these cashiers need to go.I assume not everyone has this experience and the ones that do probably don’t care about the attitude or don’t care to leave a review. It’s Signal Hill not Santa Monica. I went to the Mothers in Manhattan Beach and the CS was like night and day. Amazing CS. Something’s going on here.For now, I just match the energy I’m given. I treat these girls like Self Checkout Kiosks. I don’t talk to Kiosks, I present my items and my currency, then I leave. I don’t even look at these BOTS.We all know that kiosks are going to eventually replace people like them completely anyway.

They serve SUNRISE breakfast deal which includes organic coffee or your choice of organic tea for under $6.00 between 7:00am-9:00am 7 days a week.They change the breakfast menu every month. Along with their Smoothie Special.We enjoy Perfectly cooked Poached Eggs on a bed of Quinoa with avocado Arugula aka Rocket & Creamy Mouth watering Sriracha Dressing, sweet potato!!!Because Mothers Market & Kitchen knows how to do it right.Staff is very friendly & welcoming greeting everyone when you first walk in the doors 🚪.Ive been eating here for over 3 years & its always good food. 👍🏼

I really like this store for its idea of organic foods. Downfalls, its very expensive and sandwiches are soggy. I got a loaf of Ezekiel bread for $8! Is that how much they are at a big store? I didnt realize until I was in the car. Anyway, its convenient but probably not to go regular shopping.

Greetings whom it may concern,Worst customer services. The ladies that works at the cashier are not welcoming, or should I say they judge you before welcoming you. I notice not just once I have been coming here but multiple of times and I get the same rudeness and stare. In addition, these ladies only greet individuals that looks wealthy and has money to shop there. Although Vons has better prices on half of my items, I switched completely to Mothers because of their customer service. Lately, the customer service is I-might-as-well-go-to-Vons.On 11/5/2022 I was checked out by the same new cashier who is unwelcoming: eye contact, greeting missing, and overall seems to hate her job. In addition, she does not give me a discount when purchasing health items by case and when I take my own bags unless I remind her. When I remind her, she has a negative attitude. After many weeks of this, I approached a young man who seems to be the boss - no uniform, name-tag. I submitted my complaint to him, and he told me he would talk to Joanne, and told me he does not know where I can submit a complaint other than with writing a review. On my receipt, the name is Isabel, not Joanne, so this is confusing. The reason why I asked for her name is because they do not wear name tages.On 11/18/2022 the same energy - lack of customer service, difficult to know what cash register is open and Joanne and the other fairly new cashier distracted with the boss. Just as Joanne, this cashier lacks friendliness. I was standing waiting to figure out what cash register was open, cashier walks to register with no greeting and was distracted by looking away as she is scanning my items. She also misses giving credit when buying wellness products by the case and when I take my own bags. Interesting that they always remember to charge me when I dont take my own bags! This time, the name on my receipt is Joanne. Again, confusing.When I first started shopping at Mothers, the staff were friendly, welcoming and paid attention to details and always ready to provide customer service. I hope this can return.11/27/2022 same energy. I went to check out and found myself feeling confused because Register 1 light on but no employee. Joanne was at Register 2 (light off) with a dumb look on her face as we made eye contact. No smile or “How may I help you” or “I am open, can help you here.” She looked away. The bagger at register 3 (light off) gestured to me, “Over here.” The cashier unfriendly as usual and i had to remind her to give me a discount for purchasing wellness product by the case and for taking my own bags. Geesh!I just realized we can only review 1x and most reviews are a 5. Maybe Mother’s doesn’t care about customer service. I may become reacquainted with Vons and save money!

One of my favorite places to shop for vitamins and supplements, tea, and essential oils. The only thing I’m upset about is I purchased probiotics that were shelved and took them for a couple of days before I noticed they were never supposed to be shelved and were supposed to be refrigerated. This market is great. The staff if you ask a question can be helpful. It is well stocked and the organic products are very good and high end. I really like the organic kitchen. The fresh drinks are made with organic fruit and veggies as well as, ginger and herbs. Very well made. Great, cosmetics department. They carry a full line of my favorite products such as, Alba Mineral Fusion, and Gabrielle. Just to name a few. This is a small clean, well organized store. I highly recommend.

I love this store, or want to love it. I prefer the Fresh & Easy that was here before.That said everything inside is quality. And you pay for that quality. Like about double what you would for “regular” food at your local chain.Staff is friendly and helpful.These has an indoor outdoor restaurant with AMAZING food. The gourmet grilled cheese and tomato soup is to die for, along with the Tuna Melt. Also juice bar, coffee shop, bakery.You can get most any necessity but there are pitfalls. The canned soda for example there is no cheap options, no major brands. They have grass fed beef but no fancy pork bacon, only turkey or tofu. These have lots of fancy gourmet type ice cream but all but one brand is dairy free. An isle of wines and bears but no hard liquor. Not even the premised bottled kind.Upscale is fine, quality is fine, high prices are fine. It’s a market segment but there are huge and I mean massive gaps in some of the options in each categories.

Went for the first time and I wasnt impressed. I expected better customer service for such a small and slow pace business. There were more employees then customers by far, and not one employee greeted me or asked me if I needed assistance.When I went to check out to the only open register the female cashier didn’t even say anything to me. She had her back towards me leaning up on the register as she watched me load my items. She also had headphones on and was texting while scanning my items. Once she was done I intentionally pretended to not be paying attention and look at my nails in hopes she would nicely acknowledge me or speak. Eventually she said “you can pay now”. Once I paid, she didn’t even say thank you.Customer service was nonexistent.As for the rest of my experience I could find the same quality items for a better price elsewhere.Im sure one employees lack of professionalism doesn’t reflect the store as a whole but for my first visit it wasnt pleasant. I wont be going back.

Here’s the summary: what they have is fantastic (sometimes overpriced but always quality), but they don’t carry everything.Prime example: I went to get canned coconut milk to find they have coconut sweetened condensed milk and coconut whipping cream (awesome, I love it, thank you!!!), but no canned coconut milk.Their produce is great, lots of gluten/vegan/allergy friendly options, great vitamin/wellness department, but you won’t find everything you need.Tip: call ahead to make sure they have what you need if it’s something specific!Also, parking is so easy! Definitely an advantage there.

Tonight was the most embarrassing night Ive ever had as a professional working in the area, the Manager came out of this store demanding & yelling to the top of her lungs for me & my wife to come back inside the store and pay for the groceries we had just purchased, Ive contacted the irvine police about this matter and i will request that a member of actual management contact me regarding this matter I will be expecting a message on here and I will be calling on Monday November 29th this happened on the afternoon of November 25th by a rather inexperienced female manager around 6:30 pm. This is a great place to shop. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options to choose from as well as cold and hot food, they also carry organic mixed drinks that are usually on sale like apple celery and kale, good for a quick pick me up during the day. My feelings have changed only slightly about this place. Everything is still extremely overpriced... Only difference is now I fully understand the demographic this is catering to. In my old age I have grown impatient and my time is just as valuable. The store is empty, there is rarely a line. I get what I need if I can find it and leave. Be aware of price at the register. It is across the board not just one or two cashiers so it may be systemic problem. It is more of a hassle to try and get a refund for a few cents or dollars but if you go often the errors add up so be alert. Otherwise good products. Not a bargain though.

This is such a great addition to the Signal Hill neighborhood! Now we dont have to drive all the way across the LB and into Lakewood for decent organic options. Its small but packed with so many great options from natural living, produce, and the cafè has so many yummy choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you need a quick dinner option go for the organic rotisserie chicken available. The staff is always friendly and always willing to help. Its always clean, and kept neatly organized.

Love this place, it is definitely stocked with local favorites, different slightly from my usual Costa mesa spot. Such an oasis!!I was able to charge my car for free during my Long Beach visit which is a treasure all its own. My BF stocked up for his trip back to Big Island. We had a great lunch and changed the baby, both bathrooms have a changing table for Mom and Dad. Im lucky I was able to stop here this place is great in every location. They have a nice sized produce area, a little salad bar and hot food area, and a nice supplement area with natural alternatives to what you can probably find at a vitamin shoppe. Everything is a bit more pricey. I found the Beyond Meat patties (2/pack) for $6.99. If you walk down the street to Food 4 Less, you can find the same item for $3.99 when on sale, $4.99 when not. Im just all around disappointed. I love the food in the Cafe but the customer service is basically nonexistent. You guys need to teach your employees how to handle allergies and just how to speak to customers over the phone. Its really frustrating when I use my one day off to come pick up some breakfast and half my order is missing or they didnt fix any of the allergy requests. I like going to Mothers, they have some really good items. They are pricy, but lets face it, you knew that already. Lol. The staff has always been nice and accommodating. You can try free samples at the deli, which I recommend. They have a nice big parking lot with plenty of space. The only reason I gave them a 4 is because they let companies come solicit at their door. Nothing worse than having to awkwardly turn down someone asking for money for a cause you dont really know about. Im not sure if this has stopped, but if so, Ill shop there more often. Mothers finally opened up next door to our building. Its super convenient to walk over, grab some snacks, drinks or lunch.There is a counter where the sandwiches, shakes and juices are made. Since they are new and the workers seem to be fairly new, things doesnt run as efficiently. Sometimes sandwiches can take up to 15 min from the time being ordered to getting it into your hands. Its actually a good ploy, I guess.Lets get them to wait a bit, so theyll shop around for other snacks and drinks!This is Mothers, so prices are I bit on the higher end. Found and grabbed what I needed, including some Mother’s fresh made grab n go items-soups, guacamole. Loved that they have likely most every GT’s Kombucha flavor at a reasonable price. I frequent the Anaheim Hills Mothers because it is close to my work, this new store in Signal Hill is a Miss. Produce spoils very fast, very high prices, expired/moldy items were on the shelf, the front of house kitchen staff are a very slow and dont seem to know what theyre doing. I spoke to the manager about an employee named Britney who was blending up a smoothie and tasting it (?), I realized it was for herself which was irritating because the wait was long. I assumed she was on her break. Nope! She made smoothie samples for HER COWORKERS and proceeded to drink the smoothie at her cash register.I was on a tight schedule and it took 20 minuted for a coffee, acacia bowl and wrap. The other staff seemed to be trying and they were friendly.Management needs to tighten it up majorly. I wont be back.

I normally get The Inferno wrap in Huntington Beach. It is two times the size of the one in Signal Hill very disappointed but I still love Mothers as a supermarket.
