We ordered the combo California roll and teriyaki chicken and it came with miso soup, white rice and a salad, an Asian chicken salad and the salmon bowl and it came with our choice of salad or miso soup, I chose miso. All of the food we ordered was delicious, staff and service was friendly and accommodating.

First time coming here and they were about to close. Hans was so sweet on letting us enjoy our meal and the staff was wonderful and kind. So grateful to have found this place and definitely coming back for more. Food was better than what I was expecting and the vibe of the place was awesome. Random find at the outlet but we got hungry after doing some shopping!Its located on the corner near underarmour. It took us a while to decide, the menu was quite hectic. They had different combos and sushi items. I went with the salmon and CA roll combo. It comes with a side salad of your choice. There were 4 options and it comes with miso soup.The salmon was glazed with teriyaki and came with a side of rice. The rolls were good very generic. Honestly for a quick meal I wasnt mad about it. Out of all the options this was probably the best food spot next to Blaze Pizza.

Stopped here before some shopping at the outlet stores & so glad I did. The chicken Katsu was one of the best Ive had since being in Japan. The tempura was perfect & the miso soup was good. My daughter also loved the salmon & rice plate. The staff was super courteous.

This an Americanized version of traditional Japanese dishes. A lot of different Bento combinations. We come here often because its convenient and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. You place an order at the Order counter, pick a table, and pick up at the Pick Up counter when your number is called. When you pay you are prompted with the now ubiquitous Tip screen. Its optional but I usually my tip in the jar; its a different kind of service so it shouldnt be a percentage of the what you order.Staff is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is no different than a family restaurant but its relatively quiet.

This was way better than I had expected upon walking in. The spicy pork was spicy and it really didnt look great, but I was very happy with it (and I dont usually like ... well food).The miso was hot and salty and had generous large chunks of tofu, but was pre-made, so the seaweed could not be removed for my kids (not a big deal, just a note).The Katsu was great without sauce, crispy panko and moist chicken, however the sauce was a little too smokey for me (the kids all were happy with it sin salsa anyway).My wife ordered some sushi and larger portions were provided than she had expected and we left quite satisfied.I think the chicken Katsu with the spicy sauce from the pork would have been a great combo.If we make it back to a popular building-brick-themed amusement park in the area, this will be our after-park dinner again I am sure!

Not many places to eat at Carlsbad premium outlets but this one is a must. The service was excellent, staff friendly. The food was great, very well prepared and delicious. The salad and seafood were fresh the teriyaki shrimp and chicken were cooked perfectly. I would drive the 65 miles from Anaheim to Carlsbad to eat there again.

This was an impressive clean well appointed and friendly place to eat with my family. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. It only took a couple of minutes for my complete order to be ready. We do sushi and pho restaurants all the time. This is the first informal fast food style restaurant of its kind that has impressed me. Wish I had one of these back home.

As it’s stated on other reviews this place is a fast food sushi, quality was ok, clean restaurant but the price is almost identical if not higher compare to a good sushi restaurant in the area.So, just give it a try if you are in hurry and would like to have an expensive healthy fast food but if you have time look on the map and find a real sushi place.

I had the Tonkotsu ramen and my daughter had the chicken yakisoba. they were delicious and not too expensive compared to other Japanese style grills Ive been to. the noodles probably could have done for a bit more of a rest in the broth but that was on me for being impatient and eating it right away. the meat was well cooked and delicious. the real mvp of the dish was the broth enhanced by the seaweed and other ingredients. i could just drink a big jug of the stuff and be happy. it had an amazing umami flavor that made my day.

Its upscale food in a downscale presentation, like Panera bread, and its done very well! Our family ordered a Ahi Tuna Salad, the Nigiri sushi combo, a couple of the bento meals. The three stars are saved by the fact that the customer service was great. The gentlemen taking our order was amazing. He even ran out to take a plate of food that someone forgot to take when they picked up their order. Salmon teriyaki was ok. Tempura was decent. The tonkotsu ramen was not even near what ramen should be. I understand it is fast food, but the quality was lacking for the price you are paying. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re really hungry and can’t be bothered to find a decent Japanese restaurant.

One of the BEST Japanese fast food places ever, near the top poke bowel and bento’s. You order at cashier and watch for your number to be called on the overhead screen, then you take it to your table. Fair (bottled) beer and sake selection.

I am a regular customer of Motto..but this last visit turned my stomache literally!Steak was tough and hard to chew..Chicken was full of fat and gristle. This place is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever been in. They have quick service and had a good indoor dining area, before Covid-19. The sushi rolls are so neat and tidy, and they are one of the best I ever tasted. The staff are also nice, and you have an option to order online. The food was good but I became annoyed when they failed to serve us our food because they had made a mistake in pricing and charging our order. They served four people who arrived after us and then when I asked why, they explained that they had made the mistake and needed to charge me $1.58 more in order to serve me. Then when I went to the register, they served the food and it got cold while they figured out how to start the whole process again so they could get the $1.58.

I have been going to this place for years now, when it was called Sensai, before it was Motto. Its probably my favorite overall food in all of San Diego and very reasonably priced. I never get sick of it.I should selfishly give it 1 star and a terrible rating, just to keep other people from going there, as it gets very busy at lunch time... but I think there is a lack of good, inexpensive and healthy options out there, so Enjoy!

Everything was meh, the service is great but the food was so so bland. The Miso Ramen tasted meh. The Odon was good for 3 seconds them meh. The beef was tender but not favorable. Lackluster food. I ordered the steak california roll bento.Very bland and tasteless. The sushi was awful and tasted sour.My highschool cafeterias food tasted better than this.It’s also very uncomfortable to have FLIES flying around and landing on your food.$12 for a wack lunch. $3 for a medium soda fountain drink. Ridiculous.Cashier was very unwelcoming, made me feel as if I was bothering her.Salad was pretty good though so 2 stars. Go easy on the dressing next time.

Nothing was very good. First red flag was the lazily made, unstewed miso soup served in styrofoam (despite the menu showing it in an actual bowl). Salmon nigiri had a weird color, not very flavorful, and the rice in it was bad. It’s such a simple dish and they screwed it up. California roll and bento were okay.

We always enjoy any food item we get at Moto Jalanese Grill in Carlabad. My husband always get that Nigiri box. The sushi is always perfect! Fresh fish and seafood, rice is perfect and the ginger is the best.I usually get the Avocado tuna salad or the shrimp bento with either miso soup or green salad. Very rude chef when I walked in this morning. when taking my temperature with their infrared gun he even touched the gun to my forehead (direct skin contact), which I complained about. And, Im certain he never sanitized the inferred gun after. I changed my mind I dont even want to spend my money here today.
