If you are looking for great birria you best avoid this place. Consome is super small, flavor was awkward and they did not even add cilantro or onion. No salsa containers at the tables or available to customers. They only give you a tiny halft empty container of salsa, if you want more they wil sell it to you. They dont have napkins if you need any you have to.ask at the counter. Drove 30 min to get to this place and was a huge disappointment. Try the places is San Diego instead.

We were looking for a good birria place, and found it in Mr. Birria. The service was fast and friendly. Orders are made at the counter. Good came out fast and hot. The birria were very tasty. Kids had a simple quesadilla, which was good. I dont care much for crema or sour cream in my guacamole, but the quality was good. Chips were served fresh-fried. All of their food is served in takeout containers, but they hand both indoor and outdoor seating. A nice place to pick up a quick meal.

I have to say the consume and birria are full of flavor delicious, service was fast. Ordered tacos and quesadillas, only thing I was a little disappointed was the size of the tortillas is mini and the consume is separate so you need to order it separately. Most places it comes with your order. Overall delicious!

If you’ve never had Birria or are an expert Birria eater… you have to try this place. Authentic Birria. So tasty!We ordered the ramen, tacos, and quesadillas.Not a fan of the ramen. The noodles were a tad undercooked but the flavor made up for it.The tacos were perfection. Crunchy, perfect amount of onion and cilantro. The quesadilla was huge!!! Enough for two people for sure. Only thing is it was a little too soggy but what should you expect when it’s Birria.Please stop in. It is good. Service was good. The cashiers were patient with those of us that has no idea what to order.If ever come back to San Diego this will be a must stop for me.

This place is the real deal. Fantastic flavor and very friendly workers. My mouth is watering just remembering the food while writing this review. Such an amazing combination of the tacos dipped in the consome.I highly recommend trying this place out. Pretty disappointed in this place. Was in the area on 12/3 and wanted to give it a shot since they were also serving ceviche this weekend as well. Ceviche was sold out, (disappointed oh well), but ordered 4 quesotacos. Found out they charge $3 for a small container of consome where other birria spots give you that complimentary. Tacos were basically mini and soggy, i was not even in the mood to eat anymore so i let my friend have them. We then left and went to birria la loteria food truck in lemon grove which is 1000x better if you want great birria tacos and no $3 charge for consome that was greasy just from the sight of it !

OMGGGGG!!! 😋🤤🤩I started my Birria journey a couple years ago when I moved to San Diego… And I’ve been hooked ever since! I’ve tried every place that serves Birria in the area… And this place is light years beyond anything else… Their food is so incredible. It makes you feel like you haven’t eaten in centuries… I always scarf down four quesa tacos before I decide to go get four more… It’s literally that good! Even their drinks are on point! This is somewhere I could go to every day of the week and never get sick of it… I think I’m falling in love with my first man ever… his name is Mr. Birria!!!

I love this place. The food is so good and the service is amazing. We love the grilled cheese birria sandwich. I wish the place was a little nicer for dining in, I mean, its nice and clean, but theres nothing special about the looks of the place. It needs some work to be done. If I had just walked by, I wouldnt stop there. It looks like a regular taco shop.

All in all. This taco joint is no joke, as far as quality of taste goes. I chose a trio set consisting of fish, carne asada, and birria tacos. There was a special on the fish taco and I only spent $8 for 3 tacos, and it made this tummy full and happy. Also all the stuff they add to your order is more than enough. I had radish, limes, salsa, verde, and a little side of chili (dark) paste. If you’ve never squeezed a lime on a taco yet… oof you’re missing out. Cheers!Oh and if you get this to go, I’d recommend eating the birria tacos. They can get quite wet and the shell will diminish by the time you get home. So choose wisely

They were good when they first opened couple of years ago but their quality has gone down and price jacked up. Definitely not #1 Birria place as they claim in San Diego, seems like they’ve lost flavor on their soup and the birria. They have constantly raised their price since they changed the menu to digital. Overrated and overpriced now. They still have Taco Tuesday special but they have doubled the price on that as well.2.4/5 ⭐️

The food was good but I found a long hair in my food and I lost my appetite. The girl who gave excellent customer service, she took my order had very long hair and she wore it in a ponytail and her hair was all over her back. People should wear their hair up whenever working with food.

Can’t tell you how much I’ve heard about this place! From word of mouth to food blogs. We came on Tuesday because they have an all day taco Tuesday special of $1.25 birria and carne asada tacos.We got 3 birria, 3 carne, 1 queso beef birria, and chips and guacamole. I love that they offer beef birria vice goat. BF loved the guacamole. I thought it was lacking a pinch of salt.This was my first time eating beef birria so I have nothing else to compare to. I will say it was moist and flavorful. Can’t beat the price.The carne asada I can say, was not the best. It was very dry. Will come back to try all the other versions of birria. They were also super fast for lunch rush hour.There’s a tent outside for outdoor seating. Also indoor seating. They serve wet and offer catering.Fish tacos are only sold on Mondays for $2.50.

The taco trio was delicious!I wasnt prepared for how messy birria was going to be, so be prepared to eat with lots of napkins! The taco plate sure was good! The meat was seasoned to perfection and the consomme was flavorful. After dipping the tacos into the consomme you may not be able to resist finishing off the consomme. We will be coming back to try more on their menu.

I have been here 2 times and so far I have enjoyed myself. Ive only had birria. First time I had birria tacos and the second time I had the birria ramen and a crispy taco. I find the birria to be very flavourful. The stew was delicious. Ive had very watered-down stews at other restaurants, but this one wasnt. You have to try it!!!! The tacos are regular sized tortilla. The birria rem is in a 32 oz container.

After the first bite I realized what the hype was all about. Located just north of Mission Gorge Blvd at 8926 Carlton Hills Blvd in the wonderful city of Santee stands Mr. Birria. For our first visit to Mr. Birria, my wife and I decided to order two of their most popular dishes. At first glance, the portions were plentiful and the premium quality was evident from the use of fresh ingredients and slow roasted tender succulent meats. Great new birria spot in Santee. Really solid food! I enjoyed the birria taco, the carne asada, and the birria ramen. The pinto beans the salsas were really good as well. This birria is honestly better than some I’ve had in Barrio Logan and the South Bay.It’s a humble little store, but the food packs a wallop and the staff are friendly and chill. They sell Corona, Modelo, Jarritos, water, and soda. You’ll feel like a huge nap afterward, so ensure you’re hungry before stopping by. Highly recommend this spot!

Delicious food! The Birria quesatacos (quesadilla taco) are amazing. Ask for the crunchy tortilla. The Surf & Turf which is on the secret menu was also amazing! We ordered the Trio Combo which comes with a mulita, quesataco & a regular taco w/beans all made with Birria. Very delicious! If I could offer some advice, turn on the AC 🥵. It must have been in the 90s or low 100s on todays visit! But they do offer cold beverages including 🍺! They even make micheladas to help with the heat.All in all we loved the experience and even brought home leftovers because they are generous with their portions!I found them on my feeds on Instagram and glad I did!!!

I stopped by to get food here for myself and a couple of buddies. The birria was great. Ordered a birria quesadilla, tacos, and a burrito. Everything was great. They gave a good container of broth and everything was really flavorful. I think the missing items they didnt provide on my to go order was the cilantro, onions and lime/lemon). I always like to give restaurants a second chance after bad experiences, we are all only human..but this is the second time my family has gotten food poisoning after consuming a birria dish from here. One of my children and violent vomiting while my husband and I had more milder symptoms. The 2 kids the did not eat the birra were totally fine. This is the same sinario that happened last time. Im done, not worth the risk. Hope you change the way your food is being handled to keep people well.

Lets get this straight. Hands down my favorite Birria in San Diego. The conomé is rich without being so fatty that it gets nauseating. My favorite dish is easily the bone marrow... You can get the whatever meat you want on top... I went with the shredded beef. It comes with lime, radishes, and some dipped taco sized tortillas. Next up is the Birria Grilled Cheese.. woowee that is good. Definitely unique to Mr. Birria. Tried some queso tacos also... All in all this was a destination worth the money... Food was great, ambiance was so so, and the service was average... You wont be disappointed in the food which is the point right? Grab an apple soda too and live it up!

Authentic Mexican flavor stew. They have a lot of options to pick. If you want a burrito or torta filled with birria they have it. They also have birria with ramen. Anything with birria just makes it better. My go to is the birria tacos dorados (crunchy tortilla). You can never go wrong with any kind of Mexican tacos and in Mr birria is one the best places to get birria from.

This place is very good. The birria was nice and tender and the consume had plenty of flavor and not too spicy. I like that make keto tacos with a crispy cheese shell, I dont know why more taco shops dont do it, its so easy. Only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because I would like to see them do some specials like other birria restaurants do. Maybe try a birria ramen option. Do something interesting with the bone marrow option that is available. And have a birria fries option. But overall very good and I definitely plan on coming back again

Food was spot on, no question. Just googled birria in San Diego and this spot came up and decided it was too hot to cook tonight. We took the whole family. Kids ate the cheese quesadilla and chips and guac. Couldve easily shared the kids meal for my 4 and 7 year old. We ordered the birria trio, it was amazing! Felt like the consumé was on point but probably couldve ordered 2 tacos, not three, and been good. Will be going back for sure. Gotta try that Ramen!

Stopped by when heading back to AZ, and Im glad we found this place. It has the messiest, cheesiest, most delicious birria tacos. Definitely recommend getting the Trio Combo, and the Birria Romen was also great. On top of the great food, all of the employees were super friendly and helpful. I was there this morning. I received excellent customer service. I got a birria order with rice and 3 carne asada tacos with guacamole. It was my very first time at this place, and everything was delicious. The oil red pepper sauce is soo goood!. I also enjoy a place with Mexican sodas. Ill be back soon ❤️

If you are looking for superb birria, this is one of my go to spots. The birria is delicious and they work with authentic tortillas. No Guerrero tortillas here. The meat is flavorful. I also tried their adobada taco and it didnt disappoint. Though it is out of the way for me living in Nornal Heights, I was in the area and had a fabulous meal. Their mulitas and tacos are packed with flavorful meat and the service was fast and friendly. Give them a try.

I found this spot on IG, so I wanted to check it out. The place is small with seating inside and out. Customer service was really good. Once a line started forming, another employee stepped in to make sure there were no more than 2 people waiting. Now, for the food, lets just say it was not IG picture worthy, but the flavor was there. I ordered a quesabirria taco and the birria grilled cheese. The taco was not as crunchy as I wanted, and the grilled cheese was sloppily made. My daughter got the carne asada tacos, which were good, and my son had the California burrito that was good as well. Overall, I would stop by again if I was in the area but wouldnt go out of my way to make it here.

We only had the large order of birria. While it was very good, its not the best weve had (but Im pretty sure you have to go down to Jalisco MX for the best).Our order was not for take-out, so we were pretty surprised when our order was brought to us in a bag.Overall, service was good, until I asked for plates so we could eat our (bagged) food inside the eatery... the nice guy that brought us our order told us they did not have plates, which left is dumbfounded. We were about to leave so we could eat at home, on plates... but then I looked around and saw styrofoam plates at other tables... so I went up to the register to ask the nice guy how could he say they have no plates, when I could see customers eating on plates at their tables... unbelievably, he did not seem to know what I was talking about. 😳 He then asked if I wanted a box or container... wow... thats when I spotted the tower of styrofoam plates near the register, which I pointed to and asked whats that? Remarkably, while I was still pointing, he still said he didnt really know what I was asking for, but he finally gave me a couple of those plates. It was a moment.While the birria was good, the general atmosphere of the small eatery was less than savory. Its a very small and modest, but clean place, however the highly violent and gruesome movie playing on the large screen tv did not exactly set the tone for a pleasant dinner... and most of the clientele actually looked like characters from that movie (no joke)... and that was our take on Mr. Birria.

I was told this place was the best in Santes and decided to give it a try, I was very disappointed. I could’ve made it better. No flavor what so ever not even the salsas. No spice. Just all around just very bland. Prices are decent but that’s about it.

Ordered the Birria quesadilla,Shrimp Burrito and Birria burrito. I took it to go, so it was very messy. Used my air fryer to crisp the quesadilla after the car trip it was already soggy. Shrimp burrito they cut in half to hide the small size. It was placed in a Styrofoam box not wrapped in foil and was also soggy. The Birria burrito also very soggy due to how it was packed The quesadilla was the best out of everything Service was fast and friendly.

Birria Ramen is really good. I like Ramen more so a bit more would make it even better theres not much in it from what Im used to having at a Vietnamese restaurant and getting Pho. But I cant compare Mexican Food to Vietnamse food they both have their perfection in their dishes. But the beef was still very flavorful, as were the salsas. The Cali burrito was huge, and had all the stuffings, including a chipotle-mayo/crema (not sure which) that I dont usually (ever) see on Cali burritos, but was very tasty. I forgot to take a pic but was disappointed because I spent $35 on 6 quesatacos and 1 (16oz) consome and 2 sodas but the tacos were street style size. Just went to this place for the first time and man it’s really good. I got 4 quesa birria tacos and some consome for dipping. Very flavorful but the tacos are a bit small for 3.75. I figured with it saying taco that it would be a full size taco and not a tj style taco so they’re about 1.75 over priced so that’s a downside but it is what is. The only other downside is the red salsa, it has no flavor at all just heat. The heat isn’t bad but you gotta have flavor. The green salsa though has good flavor and a bit of heat. Even though the tacos or should I say tj tacos as that’s what they are are over priced a bit I still give it 5 stars. Would be 4 1/2 but you can’t choose a half star so it gets bumped up to 5. I will be back to try their other items as everything on their menu sounds good.

I was looking forward to it but it was disappointing. The birria didnt taste like birria. Birria is special spices with the meat...this tasted like shredded beef in tomato sauce. The girl at the register didnt give us all of our order and when we asked her she was confrontational and said she had. I had to get my receipt out and prove to her that what we ordered was missing. This use to be the BEST place for birria but now it lacks quality and flavor. Either they changed their recepie to make birria or they changed the quality of their products but the broth is more like taking a sip of just tomatoe soup with paprika mix into it. They could optimize their order taking operations a bit. Always a long line going out the door of people waiting to place their order. Once your order is in, however, getting your food is pretty quick. So I feel they need to have more than just the one point of sale order taker so they can work through the line quickly. To much going back and forth between the kitchen, announcing orders, taking orders from phone calls, etc that detracts from making the line move faster. Id come here more often if I knew the line was quick. Otherwise great food of course, really cant go wrong with it. Its a very mild birria, so dont worry about it being too spicy. They do provide chili sauce to add spice if needed.

During the 2nd lockdown, we decided to support local and show them some love. They are open for takeout currently. It used to be good birriia and ok service. The last time I was there everything was horrible. The food, the service and the portions. Im very disappointed. They give me no cebolla no cilantro. I didnt notice until I got home 😓😭 then I when back to the restaurant to get some and the lady only gave me a tiny portion. Seriously?!!!

Double check your large orders before leaving restaurant I ordered 15 tacos and received 3 boxes with each containing 4 tacos per box. Giving me a total of 12 instead of 15.

Wow! This place is very different from other Mexican restaurants in San Diego area. My wife and I had lunch there a few days ago. We had the birria taco, carne asada taco with guacamole, Queso taco, and kids cheese quesadilla. We really liked everything. We will definitely go back and try more items on the menu.

This place is amazing! Love their birria but the quesa birria taco is definitely my favorite...so good 😋Ive tried other places with birria. Some sucked, others were ok but Mr. Birria is a keeper. Theyre delicious.

I was thinking real queso birria tacos..all they sell are mini tacos with birria sauce.they dont even cook the tortillas in the sauce like they should be..they r good but anyone can cook birria for hours and have it taste good..i enjoy the real thing..full size tacos and onions and cilantro in the comsema...not here just cup of greesy sauce...

The food was terrible. The carne asada rolled tacos did not have Carne Asada. The guacamole was old and lacked flavor. The tacos were greasy and smelled off. I think the ingredients were old. Very disappointed.

We got 5 minutes before the 9am opening got inside and in a very impolite manner one employees send us outside saying they were not open yet! We decided to wait outside! And seat to wait, past 9 she come and locked the door! Not probably coming back! Bad experience at first time! 🥵
