Mrs Khan Uyghur Cuisine in Menlo Park

My first experience enjoying Uyghur cuisine was delightful. Its rare to find authentic Uyghur cuisine. I arrived a few minutes after opening on a Thursday. It was empty so I had the opportunity to take detailed pictures without restrictions.The menu is simple and straightforward. Alzar was a great host/server. He introduced me to his favorite dishes and I was not disappointed. The flavor was very good. If you enjoy spicy food, I highly recommend applying their homemade chili sauce. They make the sauce available at every table for you to apply because the food by default is generally not spicy, except for one or two dishes.The Uyghur milk tea (Atgan Chai) tastes mild (salty) and is presented well.I had the Laghman as a main and honey cake for dessert.The atmosphere is relaxed with a TV playing pop culture Uyghur music videos.

We had high expectations due to the nice environment and vibe, and the waiters look like Uyghurs. But the food was ordinary. The only dish Id recommend is the Lamb screwer, which is juicy, tender and also not cheap :)

Super delicious Uyghur food. Warning! its spicy. The noodles are thick and handmade. Very rich.Food dishes are HUGE. To be shared with two or three people.Super nice staff.Some complain the menu is short and the staff is disorganized: thats how restaurants are in Sichuan, Tibet, and Xinjiang! The chaos is authentic :-) we loved the place and will go again.

Quiet Friday lunch.Skewer the best. Chicken Korma generous portion even for small. Yogurt sweet. Salad good.

We ordered the Uyghur chicken, laghman, polov, and lamb skewers. Compared to the ones I had in Toronto I thought this was ok. The noodles in the uyghur chicken was a bit overcooked

Unlike overly sweet desserts, their yogurt captivates the palate with its subtlety and leaves a delightful, satisfying aftertaste. Its a true testament to the skill and creativity of the chefs. Moving on to the main courses, the cold pepper chicken and lamb skewers are a testament to the authenticity of the Uyghur style. The flavors are bold, robust, and transport you to the vibrant streets of Western China. The meat is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, providing a burst of savory satisfaction with every bite. The aroma of the spices and the expert grilling techniques used make each skewer an absolute delight.

I’m a loyal costumer for Mrs.khan, food is really good and yummy, I recommend gan bian chao mian, it’s really delicious, and also very satisfied with clean, cozy environment they have. Best uyghur food is here

Absolute joy, massive explosion of flavours in ones mouth.Wonderful and much needed addition to downtown Menlo.Gosh Naan and Soupy noodle bowl were my favourite dishes- 10/10.They are fairly new, so please be patient and kind.

We stopped in for a late lunch to cap a morning of errands and were well rewarded. We ordered the Naan (delicious!) and the stir fried noodles (fantastic!). Both ample sharable portions. Our server was kind and attentive and the restaurant space is quite comfortable. Highly recommended for a hearty lunch in downtown Menlo Park.

Highly recommend to anyone looking to try out authentic Uyghur food in the area. This is one of the only authentic places where you can taste some flavorful uyghur dishes. The environment and the vibe is great. Nothing really beats the chicken Korma. Thats my favorite. Laghman has the taste of home. The Bay Area had a few good Uyghur restaurants, but almost all moved out or closed down during pandemic, so this is an awesome addition to downtown Menlo Park.Let’s address the negative feedbacks coming form very specific group of people. Some who haven’t even been to Xinjiang, or just been there as tourists, and feel like experts in Uyghur cuisine not realizing that in Xinjinag, different regions have different styles and ways of cooing similarly named dishes. Even individual restaurants have their unique touch to their recipes when it comes to certain foods. In the reviews, while it’s normal to find some people having certain opinions about the taste of the food and others, it’s very evident that certain people intentionally left bad reviews to tarnish the image of this newly opened Uyghur restaurant. It’s funny how some even complain about the cost of food as if they forgot they are dining in Menlo Park, one of the priciest areas of the entire Bay Area.All in all, this is an amazing spot to bring your family and enjoy a family oriented, vibrant, and novel restaurant in downtown Menlo Park. Ignore those negative reviews coz you can just tell some only created their google account to only give one bad review, and the funny thing is, as anonymous as their accounts are on google, they most likely come back as repeat customers because they can’t have enough of our food.
