Amazing quality futon. Our custom order arrived just 1 week after walking into the shop and ordering it. We were able to select the style, mattress type, mattress size, futon cover pattern, and wood stain. The quality is very good and affordable. Customer service was great!

The owners stock beautiful dishware and ceramics that I’ve had a hard time finding elsewhere (including online). They are also very helpful and honest. We bought a set of 4 bowls, one had a small crack that they noticed when wrapping it, and they ordered a replacement for that bowl for us and let us know when it arrived. I really want this shop and others like it to stick around our neighborhood!

I normally shop at the one in San Jose, but wanted an adventure today, so I went here. The shop was perfect and has a few more items than the San Jose one. Parking is a bit rough around here though.

We had a wonderful experience shopping for a futon at Murasaki and are very happy with our new futon mattress. It is very well made and took less than 2 weeks to have it. It fits perfectly on our base. The cover is beautiful and easy to put on with its zipper on 3 sides. The owners are very nice and help you find what you need.

Such sweet people work here! They answer all of my questions and even let me open a sealed box so I could confirm that I was getting two bookshelves that were the same color. After I had made my purchases, the man working there helped me load my car, and they gave my boyfriend a lightbulb to go in the lamp he bought from them.On top of that, the store is jam-packed with a million different kinds of Japanese home goods, from tiny little dipping trays to chopstick rests to futons and room partitions and lamps and screens. I was amazed they managed to fit such a variety into such a small space. I will absolutely be giving them my business again.

I may have already written a review of this shop, but Google doesnt seem to have a record of it. Anyway, I bought a tatami bed frame from this shop a year ago. Love the bed frame. Recently went back to purchase the actual tatami mats. Really nice mats. The couple who run the place are great, very courteous, helpful, and flexible. Some really nice stuff for reasonable prices. Check them out. May need an appointment during these covid-times.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I have never experienced such incredible service in my life. Ed, Julie, and the studio team are truly amazing. My sister and I are moving across the country and wanted to buy two twin size shikibutons; however, we had only two weeks until we had to ship our car, in which we were going to put the futons.Since the moment we entered the store, we felt very comfortable. We explained our situation to Ed and he gave us multiple options to consider (and helped us evaluate them as well). He patiently answered our newbie questions and was very transparent and communicative about the timeline and pricing.Because of their incredible service and quality of goods, we ended up buying 2 futons, 2 tatami mats, 2 buckwheat pillows, a mahogany floor chair and a zabuton. Not only did they customize the stuff in the way we wanted it (they went above and beyond in the designs), but they also made everything very quickly.In two weeks they were able to get everything ready for us. Their 35+ years of experience really shines through in their transparency, honesty, and quality of goods and service. I’m grateful that we found them and bought our stuff through them. I highly highly recommend them for everything pertaining to home furniture and futons. They definitely made a life long customer out of us and my family.
