We can’t say enough good things about this establishment and the creators/owners and staff.They catered our wedding a month ago and I am still receiving texts from guests talking about how delicious the food was. We honestly aren’t surprised, as the power couple/owners Traci & Shad Davis have been putting out some of the best food in Los Angeles for years. 🙌🙌My Lai offers some of the most delicious and fresh food we have ever eaten, no exaggeration. There’s a reason we asked them to cater our wedding. You can taste that every single ingredient is thought out and perfectly executed. Nothing is looked over, and Traci puts together the most beautiful displays. We couldn’t be prouder.If you haven’t already, do yourself a favor and get over to one of their 3 LA locations. These people know food.

Pretty good option for a more new age take on Vietnamese food! I was skeptical at first since I am used to amazing home cooked meals from the in-laws. However, My Lai managed to do a good job getting the base flavors in with a twist. Definitely a solid option for decent Vietnamese food in West LA.

First time here. Ordering online and picking up was super easy. Food is amazing! We ordered two banh mi, two bowls and two drinks. Bread is very crispy and crunch. All the veggies are super fresh. Meats are so well seasoned. We absolutely love everything we got today!

I really like this spot. Its a quick, easy, build a bowl type of place. Every time Ive been in, they always have a line, plus nonstop Togo orders! Even so, service is always quick and efficient. I also like going here because the bowls are really large and I can save mine over two meals 😋 I got my order Togo but they have both a small indoor and cute outdoor seating area.Also, as a note to customers: please be respectful! I know its hard to control yourself, but please do not stick your hand over the glass at service counters. I used to work at a similar style place, and this is a rude and unsanitary thing people do. Maybe you dont even notice, but if you go into a restaurant that has a glass counter, please try to control yourself from reaching over. Thanks!

I found a new favorite spot!!!! Make your own salad at a very great price. Super healthy, colorful and tasty. The girls were very friendly and helpful with the selections. I’m obsessed. Go check them out you’ll be coming back. They also have vegan options

Casual “build your own bowl” Vietnamese spot. Came here with a friend and we both were very excited to try some fresh eats. I opted for a bowl with crispy tofu, garlic rice, a generous amount of veggies (definitely get the pickled cucumber and the fried onions & garlic), as well as the fish sauce and cilantro ginger sauce. My friend opted for the banh mi with pork, and also an egg roll on the side. My tofu came out fresh and there was enough food that I had leftovers for lunch the next day.Metered street parking is available, and it was easy to find a spot on a weeknight. There is free street parking further down the road by the school, if you’re looking to get some steps in. Indoor high top seating is available, though most people seemed to opt for takeout. Credit cards are accepted. The concept is similar to a Chipotle or Cava, and there are vegan options available (not part of the elite perk). The staff were all super friendly and efficient.

I love this place and plan to be back. We were venturing out from Echo Park to Culver City. We decided to try this place because it sounded a bit unique and because we LOVE Vietnamese food. The bowl scene has been amazing. We have had lots of Korean bowls around Echo Park and Hollywood area, but never a Vietnamese bowl.The service was great and friendly. Since we had never been before they offered us some helpful hints with sauces and toppings. Printed menus are by the door if you are trying to build your own bowl.The food was fresh and perfect. The pickled items were just the right amount of crunch and everything I picked melded well together.They have a points system as well- which is always a perk.Like I said we plan to be back soon. I hope they are able to duke it out with COVID! Best of luck guys.

Would have been better with fresher bread, tasted like old bread, which is a shame because the actual ingredients in the bahn mi were superb. Rest of the items ordered were great. The spring roll was bomb, egg rolls are good too. I did like that they are friendly and greet you as you come in. The establishment looked very clean, would like to come to this place whenever the craving kicks in again.

My Lai is located right on Venice Blvd. They don’t have a lot, so you will have to look for street parking. Luckily, I managed to snag a spot right up front! They have signature specialty bowls or Banh mi and also offer the option to Build your own bowl/Banh mi.I wanted to build a bowl, so I got right to it. I filled it with garlic rice, vermicelli, chicken, veggies and my server was nice enough to give me 3 signature sauces to try! He had recommended the cilantro ginger (which ended up being my favorite!), miso sesame (second favorite), and the My Lai Sauce (traditional Vietnamese sauce, which was still very good).The garlic rice was super tasty, I loved the chicken, and it was such a delicious bowl. I didn’t think I’d be able to finish, but because it was so tasty, I just couldn’t stop eating!Will come back to try their Banh mi next time I’m in the area!

The whole build-your-own bowl rocks here because you can do a) half and half garlic rice and vermicelli noodles; b) half and half protein choices like the made-fresh crispy tofu and a meat choice; c) the crazy array of veg toppings, herbs, seeds/nuts/crunchies and the d) choice of 2 dressings. Unfortunately, I will never eat here. I popped in today to pick up a doordash order. As I settled in to wait for the order, I noticed a rather large amount of flies inside the restaurant. Not just flying around, but crawling on the bread, and crawling on the ingredients! They were plain as day, and Im pretty sure the staff saw them, but none of them made any effort to shoot them away! Absolutely disgusting!

The fresh spring roll really owns up to its name with the crisp and colorful pickled daikon, carrots and cucumber. Given though, the fresh veggies and vermicelli in a perfectly wrapped rice paper roll wasnt even the best part, it was the PEANUT SAUCE that got me.The tangy slightly sweet peanut sauce with the peanut crunches really set this experience apart.

Ended up here at random due to the change in hours at another resteraunt. I was extremely appreciative of the open bathroom they had for customers. Ordered a beef bahmi and the beef vermicelli. I enjoyed my food but wish there was a little more meat for the order (vermicello). I found myself still hungry after completing my meal. For the bahmi, I felt bread to be a little stale/hard. Pulling the sandwich apart was difficult. I enjoyed the use of eco friendly packing with paper materials. The interior design is nice and minimalist. Im sure it would be a beautiful place to lounge at in the future. I suggest pre-ordering online if you are in a rush. I was here around 1 pm. They were experiencing a late lunch rush but prioritized online orders over customers physically there. Took about 25-30 mins for a to-go walk in order

Visited My Lai for the first time with family for a quick lunch out and was unfortunately the only of our party of 3 to have picked a dish without some issue, a Bahn mi. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the meat and hastiness. I’ll give the team at My Lai the benefit of the doubt as they seemed rather new and unsure of their service routine. Hope to revise this to a better rating although I don’t know if I’ll be visiting that soon.

Absolutely delicious to the point I’m telling my friends to try this place before I’m even finished eating. 🤤 Each and every topping is so flavorful and fresh and the variety is so amazing! Very vegan friendly! I got the crispy tofu 🤤 with garlic rice and salad greens plus pickled cucumbers, pickled purple cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, sprouts, cilantro, mint, basil, crunchy garlic and onions and sesame seeds with peanut sauce and sesame vinaigrette! Sheesh. I could see myself going here almost every day. It has that right combo of tasting great while making you feel good too after eating. Right balance of carbs, veggies and meat—all with the amazing flavors of Vietnamese cuisine!! Their chicken and garlic rice is just the perfect mix of flavors and huge portions too. Really disappointing! First of all, the worker who was making my bowl had horrible hygiene. She was picking up the ingredients with her hands instead of using the tongs in the bowls, and then going and touching her face and other surfaces!!! Really non-hygienic so if you care about those things I don’t recommend coming hereAlso, when I was paying, the price was higher than listed on the menu and when I asked the worker she told me that I should know the real price because they had been changed for a while. I’d never been there before, why would I know that?? And then she refused to honor the price listed.Finally, the food was just really not good. The meat was all fat and gristle, and at 18 dollars for a vermicelli bowl, I would recommend nearly any other Vietnamese restaurant to this

It is like a Vietnamese Chipotle but Im totally here for it. Love the bowl. Garlic rice and crispy tofu are delicious with all the fixings. Their vermicelli is a bit thicker than I expected, more like spaghetti, I think ill pass on it going forward but everything else very tasty. Thai tea also good. Service was friendly enough, no issues.

If I could, I would eat this everyday for lunch. Such a satisfying and yummy meal that you feel good about, not heavy and bloated at all. Very healthy and large portion size for the bowl. The sauces are light yet still flavorful and all gluten free or vegan. Would definitely recommend building your own bowl.Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There is a patio in the back. Parking is metered parking. Could be hard to find during busy hours.

This small mom & pop shop is really proud and passionate about their food!The main concept is a build your own Asian bowl that is predominantly influenced by Vietnamese cuisine. There are also salads, egg rolls and banh mi as well. The food is fresh and I was pleasantly surprised at how filling the standard bowls are.In a time where its take-out and delivery only, My Lai is a nice refreshing change of pace that gave a hint of a reminder of my parents cooking without having to expose them to any possible baddie bugs.They take extra cautionary measures to ensure a clean prep and cooking space.I was glad I could contribute to a local shop, glad that there is another solid option for food in the neighborhood, and wish them the best!

Wow I would give this place six stars. It is SO good. Absolutely a hidden gem - I wasn’t sure as there aren’t too many reviews but I wanted to give it a shot. The garlic rice with beef is absolutely amazing. You get unlimited toppings (def go for the crispy garlic and crispy onion!!!). The staff is friendly. The place is beautiful indoors and outdoors.

This place is pretty much like a Vietnamese chipotle in that the main ingredients are more or less the same but you can choose which style you want it to be in and what you want it to be garnished with. Its a little on the pricy side for what it is, but I still come here often because its a solid lunch option.

Employees are very nice here. This is a Vietnamese place but chipotle-style build your own bowl kind of thing. Decent portion size and a good variety of toppings. This place is amazing! Think incredibly delicious Vietnamese inspired food served in chipotle style service station. We spent 5 days in Los Angeles and this was our favorite place. Came here 2 days in a row, and we would have come a third time if we didn’t have to fly out the next morning. Fresh, fun flavors. Easily enough to eating a bowl in two batches for thos who love leftovers, but within an hour I was missing it. Just tried this place while waiting for my son. Its a nice change for a quick bite that you can customize. Traditional Vietnamese fare with a modern twist. They even have an option for Impossible meat that should appeal to those trying to cut out animal protein or want to try something different.I had a yummy chicken bowl which was pretty good but the star for me was the spring rolls. A large helping of protein (beef,chicken,pork or Impossible meat) with lettuce and pickled vegetables. The sauce for the roll was not as strong as Im used too but the relatively light flavor complemented the spring roll without overpowering the delightful mix of textures and flavors contained within.I will be returning here to try their other items in the near future!

It saddens me to write this post and the sadness I will explain later. I would not recommend this place on the treatment of its workers alone. I stepped in to get a quick lunch and I could not believe the way the manager or owner was speaking to her staff. Yes it was busy but nothing should allow the female manager at Mar Vista to degrade her workers in the manner I witnessed. My sadness comes because I did not publicly speak up. I apologize to the workers that were being belittled in front of us customers for not standing up for them. The manager should be fired and if it was the owner who was verbally and emotionally abusing her staff, then clearly you must learn how to treat humanity. I will never eat there again and I am going to protest you by telling all my friends what I witnessed in your Mar Vista restaurant. I really don’t even want to give you one star. One more thing, your food was awful.

Totally disorganized place, ridiculous. They lost track of my order, I had to point at my order ticket that was sitting right in front there in front of them to finally be taken care of. The worst is that the person I talked to showed attitude and did not apologized at all. I left the place with my order but I guess they wanted to see me again as they forgot part of my order….I had to come back and that same person had the nerve to ask for me receipt instead of taking another chance to apologize and quickly fix the problem of a customer who had enough for his day. It took the manager to hear was going on and finally provide some customer service and fix it. The extra star is only because she offered me a refund. After 40min working for them to get my order, my appetite was gone and replaced with frustration. I gave this business a chance, I won’t be back.

I was wishing for just one more yummy spot in my beloved neighborhood, and then BAM! My Lai opened up! Ive been twice now and find it to be a reliable spot for fresh and fast-casual Vietnamese food. In addition to using fresh produce and vegan protein options, My Lai also has some very tasty pickled toppings like onions and cabbage. They also have a variety of delicious sauces, so make sure you get a sauce or two.The next time I go back, I am going to make sure I get the spicy pickled onions to amp up the spice on whatever I get.

The food is good here and the prices are reasonable. The owner told me they opened spring of 2020, during Covid19 lockdown. We initially wanted to sit outside in the back but there were too many flies. We couldnt eat inside as there was something in the restaurant that irritated our eyes.
