First time here. Tried the spicy chicken combo and chicken is one of the best I ever had. Both chicken and tofu soup were ordered in medium spicy but I find it quite mild so will ordered more spicy option next time. Overall great for and great staff. Highly recommended.
Like this place. Very clean and new interior.Good bbq and cooked food.Service is a little slow, as this is a new establishment. Hopefully they will get better as time goes on.Tofu soup is okay, flavors arent quite melded together evenly.
Cheerful and cosy, we ducked in during a downpour seeking warmth and something hardy to eat. The friendly owner greeted us with a bow and showed us to a table. We later saw him working in the kitchen to prepare the food along side his staff. He kept a close eye on all aspects of the preparation and serving of the food- and the result is great food, great service.The waitress very patiently answered all our questions, and helped my 8yr old figure out what to eat. Ive been looking for a place on the way side to find authentic bibimbap and this is the place! Better than Tofu House in mid-Wilshire! My kid actually finished her whole plate of dumplings and salad. A good value at less than $8. My bibimbap was sizzling, fresh, super yummy healthy and filling! Well be back!
Really tasty Korean food. Everything was fresh and top notch. My wife enjoyed the Kalbi, or short ribs. I loved the beef bulgogi hot stone bibimbap.I would have given a 5, but two servers for 12 tables, with all the refills and requests made for a slower than normal service. But they were accommodating and nice.
The food tastes great and is authentic Korean. The service is not great. They are trying but something always goes wrong. This time they didnt cook the dumplings through before adding to my soup. Biting into raw frozen pork is not pleasant.
Not sure why I waited til a pandemic to finally try the food here, but glad I did.Very friendly and helpful staff. Super patient and will answer your questions without making you feel like a burden. I appreciate that since my social skills are down to zero right now. They will ask you what level of spicy was you prefer for the orders that are marked “spicy” on the menu.I found my new favorite Korean pork dish (Spicy Pork/Hot Stone) and it is amazing. Spicy and sweet and the serving will easily last *me* three meals.Spicy Tofu Soup with Seaweed is great, it’s comfort food for the body and soul. It’s like being hugged by your mom or grandmom, but without the questions about how often you pray or go to church and why you weren’t the valedictorian at your high school.Their side pancake has nice crisp edge to it - errrrrrrybody does it differently so it doesn’t matter what I say here. Textural. Honest. But impossible for me to eat without soy sauce. (They give you a sesame oil mixture for dipping but I’m a straight up Kikkoman girl).The extras are generous and their kimchee is crunchy but not what I’m used to so I’m way more about their root kimchee. For me it’s the perfect seasoning.And broccoli. The noodles are a trip. I want to hide them from my kids but I know they will love them because they look like they will just lay there is their glassine attractiveness but they crunch and hidden goodies like fish cake all up in there.Yeah, so I’m coming back if I haven’t scared the beJesus out of the staff.
This restaurant is new and we didnt know what to expect but the tofu soup is delicious! Two people can easily share one bibimbap combo so the prices are very reasonable. I also met the owner and he is very friendly.
Poor service. Cannot make delivery on time for 15 extra minutes to wait for a simple order placed 60 minutes before hand and the server gives an attitude they do not honor promise time with Postmates when you try to place an order on time. Poor as ttitude and talk back to customers when the server is not right is not acceptable. There are plenty of options in La Crescenta. Dont expect anything other than getting you upset
This place has the BEST korean food around! I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Delicious food, spacious dining area with many booths, and a solid amount of options. Highly recommend!
We had 2 very poor experiences here. Food wasnt too bad, but the service was awful. Definitely will try the other tofu shop down the street next time.
Food was edible but you could probably find way better. The service was complete garbage. It was extremely slow and we never even got a refill on water. Better off driving a little farther for a better place.
Hard to see and in a semi poor location for foot traffic. You have to park upstairs and take the elevator or stairs down. Asides from that food is great! One of the better Korean restaurants around.
Food was really good with tasty banchan and quickly got refilled. Kalbi was tender and not fatty, large portions, the seafood pancake was tasty. Get a combo plate with tofu soup!
Myung Dong Tofu and Bbq has a very unique name, but the food is horrible. The service wasnt so flash and it was more like the reverse. Eating that food was like a sin of wrath. Even if I had a bunch of shadow clones I would not be able to finish the bad food
All I can say is it’s not worth coming here if you can go somewhere else. The service is very slow and poor. They don’t ask to see if you are doing ok, want more water, and we waited 40 mins to get our food. Also the portions are small for the price you pay. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you are looking for something to eat
Try the Tofu Soup. Its fabulous. Just the right flavors and tofu. Meat was little but thats ok for me. The accompanying kimchi was great.Does not look like much on the inside but def stop.

Do you think the galbitang soup is a little salty? Although you cant drink it all to your taste, how about making it a little bland so you can season it with salt to suit your taste? I really enjoyed the meal.

2023-06-05 19:49:45Awesome Korean food and far better parking than K-Town . Dont expect any great views and their short staffed like every other business in the world, but, the food was very good. The young man who was working was very honest and kind about a 20 minute wait for food .The seafood pancake was fantastic and the tofu soup with pork was awesome! Ill be back!

We got a Spicy Pork Hot Stone Combo, Chicken Hot Stone Combo, Beef tofu, & Seafood tofu.Ambiance (8/10):Im not sure if theyre short on staff, but it definitely feels like a mom & pop operation. There were only two young waiters and one cook during my visit (mom and sons?). Thats probably why the food can took a bit longer to come out versus other tofu restaurants.Hot Stone Combos (10/10):The hot stone combo could probably feed two people. Its probably the best bang-for-buck item you can get here since it also comes with a small tofu of your choice. The stone pot is insanely hot so start mixing as soon as you get it, otherwise your rice might burn.Tofu (10/10):The flavor of both the Beef and Seafood was the classic tofu stew taste. It costs and extra $2 for a stone pot rice but we decided to pass on that.Banchan (9/10):While most Tofu Restaurants give you a small fried fish with your banchan, Myung Dong gives you a Korean pancake. They used to give the traditional vegetable pancake (pajeon), but I guess they switched to a potato pancake (gamja jeon). It came out super hot and fresh and all the other banchans were great as well.Service (9/10):Im guessing this is a COVID protocol, but if you have a party of 6 or more, you need to make a reservation. Like I said earlier, Im guessing the restaurant is run by a mom and her two young sons so service can feel a bit disorganized and slow. We came in an hour before they were closing, but it was funny to see the waiters silently complaining about the number of customers still coming in. My advice would be to be patient with the waiters. Theres only two waiters and one cook and theres a constant flow of to-go orders so if youre in a rush, it would be better to go to a different tofu restaurant.

Kids friendly. Comfortable seating. Would come again. A “safe” go-to place if not sure where to eat in this area. No MSG, always a huge plus. Kids enjoyed their $5 to $6 kids meal. A little on the pricy side though. From where I live, it’s about the price I pay for AYCE K-BBQ. 2021-10-01 00:43:19Very tasty and they made a vegetarian meal (no fish sauce) especially for me. Healthy and good, I got the tofu bibimbap. It came with a lot of food. They have great customer service. Ambiance needs a bit of help, if they fixed up the place a bit I really think they could be selling out all the time. Will be back again.

2021-10-30 23:52:54Been coming here since day 1 of their opening. Came here last week with my wife to eat in. Really was a downer, we waited for 25 minutes before we got a menu or drink. Place was busy but cmon, hire more people, dont be so effing cheap! 1 person answering phones, waiting tables, packing togo, and clearing tables all by himself. Sad tgat you have all this business but dont care about quality of service to customers. I have seriously eaten here 2 times a week for thee last 4-5 years. My kid loves this place and always wants the bulgogi. I wont be back until staff increases. I have spent over 2k over the years eating here.

2019-09-22 19:07:59We absolutely love this place. The food is very good! When its busy you will wait a bit for service and attention but thats how it goes at mom and pops style restaurants. Expect to spend $40-$50 for two people but you will get good size portions of food. Authentic Korean bbq and snacks.If you want a soda with your meal its coming in a can served with a plastic cup with ice. Food is always hot and fresh. Parking is a bit funky due to their location, park at vons and walk down to the restaurant location. Very clean on the inside and usually has a couple groups of people eating all the time.I would say give it a try and if its something you enjoy, so be it. We love it! Have fun and be safe out there!
