The food was delicious, I got the combo with chicken katsu and Kalua pulled pork and the regular 3 sides. It was a little warm in the restaurant but good service and good first experience

Nice place to try something different and explore. I ordered the garlic shrimp and noodles, which was filling and good for starters. Establishment was clean and service was friendly.Also, prices are fair for portion size..Thank you!

Im a little upset. We used to come here often back in the day and it was good and they didnt nickle and dime you. We decided to go last night and the portions were smaller and were charged more. They said they put teriyaki sauce on the steaks but we checked b4 we left and there wasnt any on any of the 3 orders. So they dribble and I use that word loosely. So we ask for extra sauce and they used to give em away but now they charge .50 cents. Thats fine but you could of filled them up not half fill. Steaks had a little too much fat on them. Miss the old manager who ran it. Was told he went to the Foothill Ranch location.

Good but not great. Pricier than other Hawaiian styled places. I had the Aina Mix plate with brown rice, Teriyaki steak and chicken. The portion is good but a little thinner in the meats as expected. A solid option for Hawaiian style food. Would come back for some other items in the menu.

Rude staff. Lady inside was extremely unfriendly. No iced tea yet there was an iced tea machine. Tried to charge me for sauce. Get home and open my order and they stiffed me on the rice. Supposed to come with rice. Please will be going out of business soon. Adios muchachos.

My family has lived in Hawaii 40 years. Want to be treated with no Aloha come to Nalus ? Order a plate with two teriyaki items? Expect to pay extra if you want more than two tiny Teri sauces. No Be Lolo. Dont come here brah! Soooo stingy!!! Back to my reg plate lunch place, wont come here again!

This is a hard one to describe. The food was tasty, the staff was overworked, the restaurant looked a mess because of the staffing shortages. But there are other stores of this chain that look about the same. So I recommend that you order your food, and that if they have outdoor facilities, be sure to take advantage of them.

I have lived by this place for many years and I have never tried it of course with the pandemic we are burnt out of the lot of the places that we order from on a regular basis. When I was on Postmates the other day I like to look at other restaurants menus and pictures and of course this restaurant has caught my eye because of their chicken. Well we tried it do chicken and steak KATU. And we also had tried the garlic shrimp with noodles. Well three days later were going back their food was delicious we thought their portion sizes were not too bad the food was very flavorful well now this place is going to be our favorite place for a while its nice to have something different for a change other than the usual Burgers Pizza and chicken tenders

I love this restaurant but I give it a 1 star because they close so early. Even when their hours say they are open until 7, today the were closed by 5:15pm it’s bad for business and turns customers off because they never know when they are open. Also their night manager lady is extremely rude to customers and is not welcoming or personable. They have great food and lots of potential.

The food was delicious and very fresh. I got an ahi tuna bowl. I was there with some friends, and there are plenty of tables to accommodate eating in. The feel of the place is very beach-like, they have lots of surfer posters around the store. You can fully see the kitchen area so you know whats going on with your food. The cashier was very friendly. The prices are reasonable. It was definitely worth the drive to have lunch here!

Jordan is the best! Helped us out very throughly and explained which one is his favorites. I recommend him because his customer service was over the top and did not rush us at all. I wouldn’t go here unless jordan was working and the food btw is amazing!

The service at the Alisa Viejo location is exceptionally impeccable. The manager and all the staff are very friendly. It’s a very clean establishment. they gave me good healthy recommendations based on their menu choices and I couldn’t be any more satisfied. The Panko seared all he gets better and better every time I come here. This in the San Clemente location are just phenomenal. I would give it a 10 star review if I could. Looking forward to visiting the foothill Ranch location soon. Keep it up guys thanks for the great service

This place is honestly my new favorite restaurant ! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was incredible and the staff are so so nice! I live in Minnesota, and my boyfriend grew up in SoCal, going to Nalus with his family, so when we took a trip out there this was the first place we had to go. It did NOT disappoint 🥰

Ive seen the so-so reviews about this place, so its been really a big surprise that I have yet to have a bad meal here. I actually think its really good. If theres any qualm to be had, it might be that the portions are as gigantic as maybe the typical Hawaiian place, but its not appalling and, to me, its a fair trade off. Some places, they give you so much food, you cant close the container. Nalus gives you just enough to fill you up, so not as much as those places, but you also leave full and with no leftovers to stink up your car or workplace, which is a big plus for those of us who work near here.

So disappointed, I normally order and love this place but today I ordered a shoyu poke bowl I literally received 3oz of poke and very little rice as if they were running out. Unfortunately I had a larger order for take it out so I didn’t check it. The tuna was dark and old you could tell the days old it had. And when I called back at 7:50pm they didn’t answer as if they were more interested in the clock hitting 8 and leaving and I did call like 5 times. Ownership needs to get on top of all of this, this signals a down hill trend in quality. $11 for 3oz of poke Get out of here

Of both locations in aliso viejo and in sand Canyon I prefer the sand Canyon location, bigger portions. Im a big boy so if these guys are claiming island food then they need to step it up a little

Their katsu chicken is my favorite. So crispy and tasty! Portion is huge. I can usually do 2 meals with just 1 order. We also like their Tutus Bento. It like a sampler platter with a little bit of everything. Its big enough for 2 people to share. We used to get their poke all the time, until one day we got a bad batch. The fish wasnt fresh and tasted really fishy and funny. We never ordered the poke again. But it used to be good before.

This is the best plate lunch you can get. Chicken katsu is so good. Have not had a bad dish on the menu. If you want a hidden gem get the local boy stew. Its not on the menu and its only 6$

This place is pretty good! I go here a few times a year and get the pineapple chicken. They have healthier options but I cant resist buying it.They dont have a lot of options, but it feels intentional so they can focus on the flavor of whats currently there.

Solid Hawaiian restaurant. I think the quality of the food is better here than the Irvine location for some reason. This place is on our weekly takeout rotation. I recommend the mahi mahi and tilapia. Good mixed plates with similar flavor to Hawaii. Very reasonable prices.

Surprising find! The interiors are A bit older and not quite so trendy, but dont let that dissuade you from the delicious casual Hawaiian faire. I had their beach wrap with mahi mahi and was pleasantly surprised at the excellent mix of flavors and quality of the fish. Ill definitely return soon!

The food here is always prepared fresh and I love coming here. My favorite is definitely their shoyu poke and the Asian slaw. The dressing on the slaw is perfectly balanced and never greasy.

The Island Grill part of their name intrigued me so I stopped for dinner after shopping at Sports Chalet. Definitely good food. Mainly platters with rice (white or brown), Asian slaw (amazing), a scoop of their macaroni salad, and whatever protein you want. Fish and land are how its broken out. The salmon appeared to be the most popular. I had the mahi mahi with pineapple salsa. It was delicious and seemed remotely healthy, minus the macaroni salad. Husband had the spicy crunchy ahi poke and it was very good as well. We will be be back for sure!

Wow I am floored. This is easily the best Hawaiin in the surrounding area (Aliso Viejo, Lake Forest, Irvine).I got the spicy salmon plate (picture to be included). It came with rice, Hawaiin Mac salad and colesaw.First things first, the Salmon was FRESH. You can tell it hasnt been frozen. When you cook, prepare and eat fish, it becomes very easy to tell when it has been dethawed. The skin was still on it, which was pan seared perfectly. Spicy aioli on top with a little fresh lemon squeeze. Delicious.The Mac was awesome as well. Not cold to the teeth. You can tell it hasnt been sitting in a fridge for a few days *cough Ralphs*.The coleslaw was on point to. Ive never been a huge fan of coleslaw usually because it is too tart. This was perfect and I actually ate it!
