One of the best pizzerias in the Bay area! Authentic Napoletana pizza and nothing short. Im glad this is a few hundred meters from my house! We ordered the Napoletana pizza and it was delicious. This is going to become a regular!

Margherita 6/10. The mozzarella cheese was too dry and rubbery tough. The distribution of salt was uneven.Quattro formaggi 7/10. The tough mozzarella kinda ruined this pizza. There were a few bright spots from the blue cheese I think where I got luscious bursts of umami. But otherwise it was a bland experience.Service 10/10. We came here right after it opened for dinner service on a weekday. Ordered the calamari and neopolitan pizza. Everything was so yummy!!The pizza crust was perfectly cooked- chewy and crusty. The batter on the calamari was really good and well fried.Service and ambiance were excellent!Definitely coming back.

We have been coming to Napoletana Pizzeria for years and always have a great dining experience. Their pizza is excellent but so are the pasta dishes and selection of wine. We first discovered the Negroamaro varietal here, a wonderful Italian red that goes great with anything on the menu. The menu is not huge but the quality of what is served is what brings us back again and again. The staff is courteous and attentive. Although the dining room is small and you may need to wait for a table at busy times, it will be worth the wait. This restaurant closely follows COVID-19 protocols allowing for a comfortable dine-in experience. This was one of our favorite restaurants that we hoped would make it through the pandemic, we are happy they are still here.

I heard people raving about this place. Ive to agreed the pizza was pretty good but I expected more. Probably because I like thin crust even though the crust is very fresh as well as the ingredients. Id say both Fungi and Prosciutto were very good.The pasta was pretty good as well. Al dente and good sauce.

Small HOT restaurant. No AC and brick oven makes place extremely uncomfortable to enjoy a meal. The owner is not friendly and it transfers to the wait staff. They all look angry and miserable. They have no more iced tea, charge 5.00 for a small Pellegrino which is extremely overpriced. They will not seat you except right in front of brick oven if you dine alone.Overall just not a welcoming atmosphere and owner will not make any changes to the pizza like sprinkling sausage on one side only.There are plenty of other places to go to that are much friendlier. Not a loss that they are temporarily closed

I dont know what happened. I had pasta carbonara here for the last 6 years. It was perfect all the time. All of a sudden, the last 2 times we ordered, the bacon was burnt, and made the carbonara taste absolutely burnt. It was inedible. Since we ordered to go we basically had to throw it away. We tried again few days ago. The burnt flavor was not that intense, but the bacon was still burnt, black burnt pieces everywhere, the sauce we loved was not there anymore... I dont know. This dish was our favorite dish of all time. And it is not anymore. We are a bit heart broken. Unsure if the cook is different, if the owner has changed, I dont know. But the pasta carbonara is not the same. Sadly.

It’s a small restaurant, it feels very homie and cute. With their big tradicional oven, painted walls and kind service costumer. Pizza caprichosa was delicious and big, I’m full for the rest of the day! Next time I will try to share the pizza so I can try desserts (they look very italian, very authentic).

Very cute and intimate setting with some really great food. Lines can get long because the space is small but worth the wait! If theres a line leave your number and check out the stores nearby! Tip- go early because when they run out of sough, no more pizza!

Excellent pizza- the right amount of sauce and cheese and the crust was nice and chewy. My husband usually doesn’t eat the crust but he ate all of his!! (Darn, I couldn’t steal them from him like I usually do!!) we also got the tricolor salad which was good, not too much dressing, and was excellent to eat with the extra bread on the crust. I have to say, I kind of miss the bread on the table— would’ve been good with the salad, but maybe it’s not traditional and more American.

The pizza was fantastic (we got the Napoletana)! The portion for the calamari was very small (but tasty). We went on a busy Friday night when the restaurant was understaffed, it was disorderly and people kept getting budged in line for seating. I will definitely be back for another pizza, although it will likely be for takeout. Quality of the pizza kept this at 4 stars.

We went to Napoletana for lunch yesterday. The food was all delicious! It was the best pizza Ive had in a while, very close to what I had in Europe. The desserts were really good as well.It took a very long time to have the food come to the table. We should have ordered an appetizer but we just werent in the mood for the appetizers that they had available.So I have one gripe. Why is there olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the table, when they dont serve bread? Now, its absolutely okay that they didnt serve us any bread! But we were extremely hungry and waited a long time for the food. Seeing the oil and balsamic was playing tricks with my head, like there would be bread on the way :DOverall it was a good experience and highly recommend if youre looking for exceptional quality Italian food.

[About service only] We arrived at 1:45 pm, while the restaurant was still open (they close at 2 pm). The waitress told us it was takeout only as they close for dining in at 1:30. We asked if we can get some food for takeout and maybe get some plastic forks so that we can either eat on the tables outside or even in the car, cause the food would get cold quickly if we took it out. She refused and kept saying its take out meaning we actually have to take it out and leave, and when I asked whats the difference for them if we just eat outside (they dont own the parking lot) she said its a policy. I thought it was borderline rude and super inconsiderate, and it almost ruined our otherwise nice afternoon.Weve been here before and the food is usually pretty good, but after this experience I dont know if I want to ever come back.

Offense to the REAL Pizza Napoletana!If I could give negative number of stars, I would do it!We tried antipasti first.Caprese: the mozzarella tasted like the worst and hardest thing I’ve ever tried. The tomatoes tasted like old and the basil was black...(let you imagine how old it was)Calamari fritti: not too bad, only thing they were almost black. I guess they fried them too much...Pizza: i tried the prosciutto crudo. OMG!! Still can’t believe they really let people eat something like this. The arugula was old, the prosciutto was of a weird color (and taste) and last but not least they put garlic everywhere on the pizza... I couldn’t eat more than one slice that I lost my appetite (first time ever in my life I don’t even try to eat more...). My other friends had an okayish margherita and other one had a completely burned pizza with mushrooms... only good side is that i think the owner realized how bad it was, so he didn’t charge us for the 2 pizza left untouched.Unfortunately I think I will never try this place anymore! And really hope that they will take the sign of real Neapolitan pizza down. I can’t believe they got it with this kind of pizzas...

We were there again on 09/29/2019 around 7.30 PM, party of three.My pizza was partially inedible because burned (see picture). On that night, they were clearly understaffed. They never checked on us and, after a few failed attempts to catch the servers attention, we decided to skip a second round of drinks and dessert and ask for the check. Disappointing experience

Got a pizza and soup for take out. Love that they have a stone oven for the pizza (it cooks really fast too). The pizza got a little soggy on the bottom and a little cold by the time I got home though, so I would recommend sitting in and eating the pizza fresh. Its a relatively thin crust with kind of chewy edges, I enjoyed it but would also say that Ive had other pizzas that are more to my taste.They have a couple vegetarian options, you can check their website.The interior decor is quite nice and it seems to have a nice ambiance for dine in, though I only did take out (phone order).

Everytime I get napoli style pizza I always gotta get margarhita, so I did when I came here for my birthday because I was craving some good pizza and honestly I was a little disappointed after reading all the reviews about how good the pizza was here, long story short the sauce was a little too watery and just lacked flavor, it needed salt pretty bad, and on a marg pizza the dough and especially the sauce either makes or breaks the pizza and in this case it broke it for me sadly, but yeah if they would just start adding some good sea salt to there sauce it could be really good.....

I like the food. Pies are kind of expensive for their size. I do not like the man who owns it. Once I asked for cheese and oregano for my pizza . He told me I didnt need it. Another time I asked if they could put the sausage on one side. He yelled at the waitress that there are no substitutions. I was not substituting anything.I saw him drop the dough spatula on the floor once and he picked it up wiped it on his pants and used it again. I will stop here.

If you ask to add something to pizza (e.g. panchetta), a waiter will tell that owner dont let them. The pizza was horrible. Also, customer service was very bad. It started out when I called to order two pizzas on Saturday at 7:52pm. The woman whom I talked to on the phone started rushing me to put an order by saying that there was only one minute left to place an order and she wanted to get off the phone. She was very rude.The pizza was awful. I was told to pick up the pizza in 10 minutes. I only live two blocks away and I picked up the pizza on time. When I got home, I found the pizza was soggy and cold. It good. Its really good. Its now my favorite Italian pizza place. I like it more than Doppio Zero which is much more well know and more expensive. Ive had three different pizza and theyve all been good. If I had to be picky, Id say that their pizzas with mushroom lose water and the crust isnt as chrispy as I would like. The flavors are great though. Its pretty much just a pizza and pasta joint, no entrees. Their desserts are pretty good too.

Weve gotten used to their multiple week closures during the summer time when they go on vacation and their strict standards to maintain high quality Napoletnana pizza.Our family of four have our favorites. Two of us always goes with one of our favorite pizzas, one has her favorite pasta, and one varies.Tonight was a shocker. Service was extremely slow (we even called ahead to check and they said only a few tables inside and a few outside were occupied). When we got there they warned is about the long wait for pizza. They were really back logged. At least 30+ mins. So I ordered pasta instead of my usual pizza. The pasta took about 30 mins to arrive, as did my wifes. Hers is the same favorite she always orders. But tonight it was quite Al Dente. But tasted great just a little crunchy. My linguine with meat balls was quite Al dente also (maybe rushed due to back log, it seemed there were TONS of pick up orders) but worse it was like someone accidentally dropped a salt shaker in my plate. It was sooo salty. I did not end up eating a lot of it. They offered for me to take it home but i couldnt imagine that much salt taste being salvageable. Very disappointed as compared to all our usual and frequent visits. I hope they adjust and warn people about busy times when asked over the phone or when people are being seated at the restaurant. Its kind of a bait and switch to not warn people that the whole service is slow, not just the pizza.Previous review :Great traditional Nepolatana style pizza. Pizzas were pretty bland and while the crust was pretty good, this is not worth the price. Lot of other places in the Bay area with better pies. The capellini pasta was pretty good. Also the waitress messed up the order, then charged for the wrong item and returned the difference in price with cash(which means the taxes are charged on the higher amount). Bizarre!

My Go-To when in Mountain View. The real deal for authentic and awesome tasting napoletana style pizza. All entrees and especially the salads are absolutely the best and presentation in beautiful. The owner is always there and just a true Italian gentleman. His wine selection is normal in quantity and very high quality...Italian of course. I have been to a few of the Italian restaurant competitors in Mountain View, dont waste your time with them. Go here first then try the others if you must. I have had certified authentic Neapolitan pizza and was looking for something closer to home. Unfortunately, you wont find it here. The dough was over mixed and exceedingly chewy. The mushrooms were canned. I was expecting real mushrooms at the very least. The prosciutto had no fat whatsoever. In this aspect, I dont like the slabs of fat on prosciutto, so it was a small win. Ive worked in pizzerias and as a chef, so I know what Im talking about.Look up APVN and youll find the requirements for real Neapolitan pizza and list of approved places. This place was approved in 2012, so it mustve been authentic years ago when they were being certified. Too bad they dropped the ball.

Best pizza around MTV. The portion is large so I usually order one pizza and one pasta, and share with 3. The portion of the salads is really large too. You cant book in advance and there is usually a wait around 30 min so I usually kill time at the supermarket next to it. The place is very small. It could easily be charming but it was severely let down by uncaring service - we were very disappointed since the place had been recommended and we queued for it. The food was average overall - one nice pizza and another rather bland one sadly, neither of which struck me as hugely authentic. The wines were nice, probably the best part, and they do have a wood fired oven. I would recommend Doppio Zero on Castro st nearby (by car) for a better meal on my view.

We are not sure what was going on here, usually that restaurant is ok, but today it was bad from the beginning to end. First they were not willing to seat us because my husband (who was 5 minutes away), then they didn’t take our order. After asking for it 20 minutes later, we at least got our beverages - no pouring in of the wine or opening the soda can for our son. 10 minutes after the group that ordered after us got their pizzas and we finally got our appetizer rolls(!) and pizza at the same time. Since we had been in the restaurant for almost an hour we had to order the check with our entrees. And to end this perfectly the waiter started cleaning the whole table including glasses while we were just finishing our wine. Thank you for such a strange unpleasant experience.
