2023-09-10 00:13:58I would give the service a -1 rating if I could. We are generally mindful that service can suffer a little when things get busy. But when we showed up at 3pm during a slow hour, we were made to feel that the owner (an older gentleman that I assume to be owner) and a waitress were equally annoyed by our presence. The food also left something to be desired. The roast duck was dry. The beef tasted expired. I cant believe they dare to call this Chinese food. BTW the owner does not speak Chinese at all. This was a thoroughly disappointing experience.

2023-08-28 16:25:49Never tried this restaurant but always notice it and never dined until recently. Celebrated nephews 50th bday. I am going to be very honest with my opinion/assessment. The appetizers were decent that I ate. The fried rice did not look appealing so I did not try it. Ordered beef with ginger and green onions which some of the dish cold and hot also not tasty. I gave the waitress benefit of the doubt about customer service because she was the only server, although other family members complained about her attitude. I am the kind who do not attend a restaurant because its cheap. Food have to be high quality. Rather had ate at Panda Express. I can now understand why I passed this establishment up. The owner should step up his/her game or quit. As for reviewer commenting about bathroom use I do agree with owner. Its for their customers.

2023-09-23 12:35:20This use to be my favorite Chinese restaurant when I lived in Elk Grove. Dined with 2 friends recently. Food was still good and I don’t think they raised their prices considerably but portions are much smaller than it use to be. Won’t dine there again…disappointed!

2023-02-23 23:05:00Well I went there after leaving the post office for takeout— hmm not so friendly then I was given lunch special menu and asked for vegetable chow mein. Well I waited 20 minutes and then handed the bag and I got in car and no rice nothing just chow mein and not tasty—blaaaah😞 sorry won’t be back

2021-04-17 04:26:58For the price they charge, the portion is very reasonable compare other restaurants in the area. The 2 dish i ordered are very much Cantonese style. Highly recommended if youre in the area!!

2022-12-30 19:46:15Went in to eat with 6 other people. The inside is kind of small, but their food selections was pretty good. I am not sure if they only have one waitress at night but she did do a good job serving all the tables. I asked her if she can take a photo of our table and she said she is the only waitress so I didnt get any photos taken. It would have been nice if she could have taken one photo for me. The food is pretty tasty and the price is reasonable. I would not get their fish though. It was battered and sauce was on the bottom of fish. Not flavorful for me. I look forward to coming back, but I also hope the restaurant will have more waiters next time.

2023-04-23 14:38:02My family has patroned Nathans since they opened over 15 years ago. The cuisine has been consistently flavorful, affordable and visually appealing. The hard-working staff is attentive and courteous. Nathans passion for his business is evident by his routine presence and positive interactions with patrons.

2023-01-30 03:28:22Food is great and tasty but the menu is miss printed. I ordered the fried rice with salted egg and got salted fish instead, which is fine for me. They said they had no such salted egg fried rice dish. And I except them to not edit the menu for awhile. Fixing the menu will probably not be their 1st priority in service.

2022-10-01 12:02:27I walked in after I saw several people coming out it with takeout orders, having passed the restaurant monthly for years. This was my first early evening visit to the post office, so I thought I’d stop in. The restaurant smelled delicious, only one couple was dining, and when my eyes met the waitresses, she came over. She asked what I wanted, and I asked her what smelled so delicious. Unfortunately, in time, I practically ran out of the restaurant after several exchanges with her, as it was obvious she did not want me as a customer! She went to the back as I studied the menu, and I asked the dining couple what was good there, and they shared what they had eaten and enjoyed. As the waitress boxed and bagged their leftovers, I waited. When she had to come back to the register (where I was still waiting) to run the couple’s card, and asked me what I wanted, she told me that one of the items I chose “people” don’t like. It was a salted fish with rice dish. I said that I wanted to “try it, anyway.” She responded, “no samples.” I said, “No, I want to order it.” She again repeated that “people” don’t like it” and more loudly now, “it costs $15.95” following it up with, “order spareribs, ‘people’ like that.” This went on and on, as she got progressively louder. After a few minutes of this, I left. Some folks do not belong in the “front office,” and she is definitely one of these folks!I had to laugh, because otherwise I would have been hurt. This woman had no idea what I like to eat, making assumptions about me by looking at my face. Salted fish, by the way, is a staple of my Caribbean heritage. I never even got to try the food at Nathan’s Chinese because I was made to feel unwelcome, even for takeout! Ouch!
