Had some time to kill while our van got checked out around the corner so we came over here to get some work done. The coffee is delicious, reasonably priced, and the food was great. The best part of this place is definitely the decorations. It’s stunning.

If youre a younger member of Gen X youll feel right at home in this location. Stepping into this place is like stepping into a surreal museum of my childhood. Yes I had a few of those Lunch Boxes (actually I just found my dark Crystal lunchbox WITH THE THERMOUS!), yes I had a few of those skateboard decks, there is so much there that makes me feel comfortable. Coffee game is great, food is decent, great place to kill some time or get some work done!

Stopped here to get coffee while on a road trip. What a find! I love the 80’s TV/movie/video game nostalgia. Reminds me of my childhood. Makes me wish I lived in SLO just so I could come here to get coffee and hang out. The foods looks good, but I only got a cold brew. I’m picky and it was perfect. Very mellow and smooth, just how a cold brew should be.

The blue berry scone was missing the blue berry flavor. It was too moist for a scone. Just didn’t love the wrap. My fault not theirs. Grill veggies I assumed was an assortment of grilled veggies. Turns out it’s peppers and onions … when you have the eggs and avocado removed you just don’t have much to work with. Next time I will ask. #allergygirl was disappointed!

I got a vanilla latte from here which was decent but it definitely tasted more like artificial syrup. I wouldnt expect fancy latte art. I like the atmosphere and how colorful the coffee shop is but in my opinion, I wouldnt specifically crave the espresso here. It also took quite a while for my latte to be finished. However, a large is $5.50 so I really cant complain. I would stop here just for quick drip coffee or to chat with friends.

This place is very hip. I really like the skateboards on the wall and they have a good selection of coffee. I really enjoy the cold brew that I got. It was a large cup and good tasting coffee and strong. When we were there, there was quite a few college kids working on their computers. There also, there is both indoor and outdoor seating.

My partner and I went to the Nautical Bean on Parker St. When we got to the register, the first thing I asked was if any food on the menu was vegan(there wasn’t). The cashier was very helpful and suggested the Mediterranean sandwich, subbing out the cream cheese with hummus to make it vegan. I ordered a large matcha latte with oat milk as well. We got our drink first. After a couple of sips, we could tell that they used regular milk instead of oat milk. I brought the drink back and they apologized and replaced it with my correct order. After about 30 minutes, we got our food and we were very excited. The excitement quickly died down when we saw that they had actually just used cream cheese instead of the hummus. I brought the food back and asked that it be replaced with my correct order once again. We were on a time limit and still hadn’t gotten our food yet, which was a bagel with hummus, onion, avocado, cucumber, tomato, and olive oil. My partner went to the register to just ask for a refund since we had been there for a while now and we had to get going. When my partner walked over to the register, they saw our newly made food on the inside of the counter and a worker just standing and chatting with another worker who was cleaning up. There was no sense of urgency. Overall just disappointed and if you have dietary restrictions, beware.

I discovered this coffee shop recently, and Im happy I did. The coffee is much smoother than the bitter stuff at the other place and they also let you pour your own cream, which is important to me, and something that the baristas at the other place never get right. Its also got a lot of room to sit, and tons of cool art. The staff are friendly too!

I ordered moms eggs and wanted a black tea. No black tea so settled for a green tea. Ordered honey and lemon. It came with the lemon and honey already in it. I prefer to “dress” my own. The lemon over powered the rest of it. The eggs were cold mixed in with warm veggies. (Like they were ore-made and thrown in with the veggies) The taste was good but would have liked the eggs freshly made with the veggies and some salt and pepper to be brought out. Overall, I’d eat here again but specify I like to make my own tea.

I love the inside of the place! The tables are all unique and have their own character. A great place to get together with friends and hang out over coffee. The menu is great, from quality drinks to a delicious food menu, there really is something here for everyone. Within a couple visits I already filled up my stamp card! Love this place!

I am here way more often than I should be. Its a bit pricey but the service is always great and the drink/food menus have some variety. Great place to sit down, get wired on caffeine and do some work. Plus, in the most polite way possible, there is typically a reliable amount of eye candy.

Im hooked on their Mexican coffee and BLT sandwich, which is consistent at both SLO locations. Hearty salads. Ample patio seating, very well organized for safe ordering & take out. (Masks required inside.) Bring wipes to clean your own table if you want to be extra careful. Fun interior ambiance while waiting for your order and whenever indoor eating comes back, tho I far prefer outdoors, barring rain or 90 degree sun!

The naughty Bean is slowly becoming on of my favorite places to drink coffee and get work done on the computer. Drip coffee is usually not the freshest t in town, but their lates and other fresh mad drinks are always on point. Also they have excellent food choices! Love the atmosphere.

I am very pleased to have come across Nautical Beans new location in San Luis Obispo. After leaving Harbor Freight I was pleasantly surprised to come across NB (across HF parking lot). Cheerful service, great quality food and coffee. Not much parking during busy times but manageable. Especially for the coffee! ☕

They make an amazing mocha; I had their 16oz. with an additional espresso shot, minus the whipping cream. The mocha really was smooth, velvety like, and you could distinguish between the chocolate, and coffee. Further, the coffee house has a nice vibe, with cool artwork. My only concern is the parking; the stalls are tight, so be extra watchful pulling out.

Nice baristas, clean facility, great food, and a pleasant overall experience. The whole building is cut up into neat little cubicles that allow for privacy while still having a feeling of openness. Nautical Bean was lovely, as always. The staff is friendly and chill, the coffee is delicious, and so is the chai. Its a nice change of pace to be able to pick a table, enjoying the perks of students being gone this summer, yay! My only complaint ever about this place is that during school, it is often so crowded that I cant find a seat. I love both locations!

I truly love this place. I wish their prices were a bit lower so I could afford to eat there more often. Their coffee is fantastic. I have visited both locations in San Luis Obispo. There is a glaring difference with customer service between the two. I found the personnel on the Los Osos Valley Road location to be rude, pretentious, and off-putting. Whereas the location by Harbor Freight have friendly, supportive, and helpful personnel. Not-to-mention the quality of their product is superior. No matter how busy they get they always seem to have a smile. Not so much at the other location. I always feel like an unwanted customer at the Los Osos Valley Road location. So much so that I am looking for a place to rent closer to the Harbor Freight side instead of the other location. That is pretty bad when someones decision-making policy is based on the customer service at the same company but at different locations.

The coffee was good, but the staff was very rude. The staff acted as if I was bothering them, when all I wanted was a cup of coffee before I went back to work. I get better service at the gas station. I work in retail and I would be fired for treating people the way they do. I felt like I was back in high school I politely said hello how are you can i get a cup of coffee please, then the girl said what, I replied again I would like a cup of coffee please then she charged me and I asked where the coffee and creamer was and she replied its right there then I said Thank you and she made some kind of grunting noise. I wont be going back there again.

I love Nautical Bean. Its got a cozy environment with comfy chairs and smaller, separated spaces which are ideal for meeting with a friend or small group of people. Their food is delicious, and there are lots of options while maintaining a reasonable price.Most importantly is coffee. I drink regular drip coffee almost exclusively. I love Nautical Bean because for $2.00 you get a large coffee cup and a selection of 5+ brews ranging from decaf to a nitro. They also have Punch cards for free coffee which is pretty cool too.

The food and coffee here are good, and the prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, this location is almost always understaffed. The cashier let us know that the wait for food would be about 20 minutes, but it was about 40. I would still recommend nautical bean if all you want is a good cup of hot coffee.

Always a long wait, and the staff could care less about you, theyd much rather just chat with each other. Every time Ive been in the Nutty Bean coffee has either been out or cold, and when I ask for it to be refilled, I inevitably get a comment from the staff about me doing something wrong when pouring it/holding my cup wrong/whatever else they feel like shifting blame on me. Ill go back because the Nutty Bean coffee is that good, but itll only be at on a day where I have a LOT of time to wait and rock solid confidence to withstand their comments.

Great food and drinks, however the staff is very condescending and comes off very rude. It seems as if you are bothering them by coming in to place your order. I went in today (5/7/2018) around 12:30 pm and there was a blonde gal who took my order (I did not get her name) but she was literally talking and laughing with her coworker as I was standing there and gave me the time of day for a matter of maybe 10 seconds to ask me what I wanted, I gave her my order and then she didnt respond back and just continued laughing and joking with the other coworker. This made me really uncomfortable and made me feel like I was bothering them by coming in?? Then when she called my drink order out she said it in a really sarcastic tone of voice and then started cracking up laughing with her coworker again as I picked up my drink. She never said another word throughout the whole process, no thank you, have a nice day, nothing. I picked up my drink and walked out. Just an overall terrible experience, I have quite frankly never encountered someone with such bad customer service skills. Sad because I really love what this place has to offer however, I will not be coming back to this location, simply due to that fact that I literally felt like I was bothering the workers by coming in to order lol.

They have great products but its really frustrating how often I come for them to just be out on both of their Nutty Bean brews. Being stuck waiting for 30 minutes to get a drip coffee is not exactly convenient. That aside expect to wait 15-30 for any food item take that how you will.Edit: Change from 2 stars to 1 star. Unfortunately for me I decided to get a latte instead of a drip coffee today. I have used the same 16oz (475ml) mug for coffee for as long as I can remember and decided to get my latte in that. Imagine my surprise when I only the lid after getting to work and see *maybe* a 10oz fill. I didnt order a cappuccino and I most certainly didnt order half a drink.

This is my favorite coffee shop. Great tasting coffee and good breakfast and lunch options. The kitchen sink with hash browns (instead of rice) is what I get all the time. If there are a lot of people in line rhe food can take a while so be prepared for that.
