Family owned and local business is what this place is all about. Good menu selection and good tasting food. Nothing overpowering or superficial about this place. Just wish that rice comes with the entrees and not have to ask for it. We would definitely return to try other things on the menu.

Impressive Wok hei flavors and comfort food you crave. Theyre small, only the cook and woman serving so be kind if you wait. Its worth it, youll see! House seafood fried rice, Tomato Egg, Combo Chow Fun all full of flavor! Get the traditional Hong Kong milk tea or variety of boba at their shared shop at the entrance.

Decided to eat here for the first time based on how many outstanding reviews this restaurant had. But that was a HUGE mistake! This food is hands-down the absolute WORST Chinese food Ive ever eaten, EVER! I spent $60 on four dishes that were immediately thrown away because of how disgusting and disappointing they were. I wouldve been better off just flushing $60 down the toilet. Any Chinese place that leaves bone in fried rice shouldnt be in business. Someone needs to inspect this restaurant for health code violations. Do yourself and your digestive system a favor, do not eat here!!!

Solid Chinese food, BIG portions. Ordered the Lamb and basil, it was advertised as spicy but it was not, Id order extra spicy next time. The noodle dishes looked great,especially the wonton soup and special beef noodle soup... Next time.

First time customer. Based on the reviews, plus the extensive menu, plus the ability to specify spice level for many dishes, I really wanted to like this restaurant. But the veggies dishes were greasy, and the soups (hot & sour, and won ton) tasted like they were made with dish water. Wont go back and cant recommend.

My wife and I hadn’t been in the area in about 2 years and we realized that panda dumplings had closed. So we eat here at new canton restaurant. When the waitress handed us the menus she basically threw it at us, and we were not offered any water. Most places offer water as soon as you sit down. We placed our order and the first thing to come to the table was soup, but they didn’t bring us bowls or spoons until later. The lady that greets you is rude and doesn’t offer good customer service. And she kept arguing with the cook. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Huge portions. Friendly service. Amazing lunch deals. This is our second visit. Definitely coming back.We ordered:1. Fish fillet stir fry -great! Even had vegetables in the dish. They got creative about using snap peas julienne to look like and have the texture of green onions. Maybe they ran out of green onions? but it was very tasty this way. Will order again2. Beef chow fun with sha cha sauce -great, they added sha cha sauce on our request. So nice. Good wok hay3. Fried pork -pretty good. Some pieces good, some a bit dry.

All my orders have been via Waiter.com. I usually order a main dish with a side of rice. The only thing I can say positive is that the rice is cooked well. I have yet to receive an order that 1) is correct and 2) that I can actually eat [I have food allergies that are clearly stated when placing the order.]Waiter.com customer service stated they reached out to the owner regarding these issues and was asked that I give them one more chance. Today was one more chance and I STILL didnt get my order correct.... my advice: dont order from here unless its something simple like rice or noodles and with no special instructions. Sorely disappointed and am deeply regretting giving this place so many chances.

What a nice surprise! We stopped in for take out. I was expecting the usual fare as far as menu selection for a small Chinese restaurant; and I was also expecting the usual range/depth of flavor with the meals (especially being outside of San Mateo and Millbrae).The menu caught my attention as it featured a lot of dishes beyond what youd typically find. We ordered pretty standard things, but will look forward to trying some of the house specials next time!When we got home and opened the boxes . . . I was very surprised to see a rich color to the food. And the flavor definitely matched. The portions were generous and well-balanced in terms of the provision of meats/fish and veggies. The noodles were soft and chewy, the pan-fried dumplings had a nice thick and chewy shell/skin with a solidly fried bottom. The sauce on the chicken was thick, with just the right balance between salt and spice.One or two dishes were a little on the greasy side, but nothing to complain about.We had leftovers tonight, and the dishes really soaked up the flavor! Even better the second time around.Order: Pan-fried dumplings/potstickers; beef chow fun, rock fish and asparagus, and kung pao chicken. We made our own rice and veggies (fried dandelion greens w/ garlic and salt).

I can honestly say this the only 5 star review (that I recall, at least) Ive ever given a restaurant. If you want good American Chinese food, this is your place. Plentiful portions, deep flavor, and plenty of options. I have lost track of how many times Ive eaten here, and Im totally fine with that. The owner is just about the sweetest lady youll ever meet, and will always go out of her way to accommodate you. A few menu suggestions: get the hot and sour soup, and ask for spicy/hot oil - mix the hot oil in with your soup, and thank me later. Their Kung Pao chicken is good (however I can never get it spicy enough - thats a me issue: Im sure theyd be breaking some sort of San Mateo county fire ordinance if they made it the heat level I wanted). The crab wonton and the egg rolls are great! Just the right level of crispy and just enough fried flavor.If you want Chinese food, and youre hungry, just trust me. Come here. Youre not going to be sorry. And, if you eat here, then tell me you ARE sorry, then you cant be my friend.

Ive been coming pretty regularly for years and the food is always good and the service friendly. Favorites include Beef Chow Fun,. Singapore fried noodles, clear cooked Bok Choi.Update as of May 2022 - still awesome. Please stop by and get some great food and help this small family business survive the times.

Loved the food here. I couldnt get the XO sauce noodle, but I enjoyed their Singaporean noodle. Pineapple duck was amazing as well. I boxed the left over good and had it for the next day dinner. It was still good.

We enthusiastically bought $80 worth of take-out food. We received nothing worth eating:The hot & sour soup lacked taste and substanceThe mou chu vegetables were soggyBoth prawn dishes (Hunan Basis Prawns & Mango Prawns) had replaced prawns with small shrimp and the shrimp tasted as if they had been in the sauce for days.

Tried this place for the first time as the reviews seemed good. But I am sorry to say but the food was terrible. We got the sweet & sour shrimp and a side of rice. My son got the sweet & sour chicken. The breading on both was falling off and soggy. The chicken was hard, dry, and overcooked The prawns tasted very old and fishy as well as overcooked. My first bite, I chewed into something hard and spit it out. The rice was dry and felt like it needed a pinch of salt. I was disappointed because I didnt even eat my food. The food overall was low quality. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because the staff were very nice and when I went back for a another side of rice because I thought what I got wasnt enough they gave it to me at no charge. I dont think I will come back.

Today was my second lunch here with my team, and I can inly say good thing about this place. Service is excellent, very cute indoors, colorful, and most importantly, food is delicious.. we tried many dishes, all really good and at the end, total bill was very reasonable! I totally recommend this place, you will not regret if you try it, and you might even continue going back!
