2023-03-20 01:15:53Great place to have a date or to get together with old friends. We went there Thursday night around 8 pm. The bar was full but we were able to get a couple of tables together for a group of 10 of us. We ordered several drinks that were Tasty n Delicious. I had two Paloma Infernos thats Tequila Blanco, lime, Grapefruit, agave and Habanero which gives it a Great Spicy kick. Also if your looking for a different drink not on the menu the bartender is Awesome just ask like I did when I wanted a Bloody Mary and It was one of the Best I ever had. The food is Chinese style. As a group we ordered different dishes that everyone could share. Like Pot-stickers, Calamari, sweet n sour chicken and other appetizers. All serverd Hot n Fresh. Everyone enjoyed the evening. Lots of tvs, great seating including booth seating for a more intimate evening. The wait staff was top notch very attentive and always making sure that your doing OK. I can only say that I highly recommend New Canton for you next date or gathering.

2023-05-29 19:37:01Drinks are good. The food not so much, we ordered noodles, orange chicken, Mongolian beef and rice. The food wasn’t tasty and the beef did not taste fresh. It is a cool place to grab drinks but not food. Plenty of parking all around.

2023-07-10 17:42:59This is the most dirtiest and disgusting restaurant i’ve ever been too. Glassware needs to be cleaned better, there was lipstick stains on it. The table were sticky and gross.

2022-01-22 10:42:57My first time being here. We had a party of 5 people. We got seated had menus ordered drinks. After we all placed our food order in at the same time. But when our food came out. Only 2 people had food there others waited for there food. It took 20 minutes in between. The last person had ordered salmon with noodles and rice. But it took over 45 minutes from the first two plates that came out. We didnt get any reply from the waiter or manager on why the food was taking so long. We had to keep asking but only got in a little while.

2023-04-17 13:12:08Me and my girl came here on a Friday night. It wasn’t too packed. They have a full bar and had the dodger game and soccer game playing. Prices were fairly reasonable and the food was good. It’s a la carte so individual plates great for sharing. Small plates but food was good. The lighting is nice and dim, near the bar area it gets loud.

2023-06-01 01:24:02I dont know what happened to this place but the service is terrible the drinks are watered-down. What I dont understand the place was overstuffed but zero service place was empty bar was empty. 1/2 hour to get a watered-down Martins. Went up the street to Azubu 2 drinks and a shot in 3 minutes food was amazing place was packed! I would eat at New Canton if they payed me.

2023-06-14 18:57:17Had a very good meal. Mushu shrimp and orange chicken, I think. Sounds very white folks Chinese, I suppose, and not very adventurous but it was good. Pleasant, quiet evening. In other words, another Thursday night in Whittier LOL.

2018-06-11 01:32:51The fried rice was meh, the chicken was plentiful but fatty, the beef was fatty, the lo mein were disappointing, the egg roll was fine.We were the only people in the diner section during their “busiest” part of the day and it makes sense now. We left half the food on our plate, no takeout containers necessary. They gave a lot of food but could probably cut it in half if they had better quality ingredients. The bar looked happening and the entire place was actually quite nice but we just couldn’t get past the food. Sadly, we are unlikely to be back.

2023-06-16 07:02:08I have written and rewritten this review 4 times. If you want a quick gauge to the experience, check the stars. If you want an honest review, continue reading.I dont know where to begin. I wont bother you with the poor greeting and weird neon vibe in the restaurant/bar that is trying to be something its not.Sat at the bar. Rule #1 for ANY bar: never put your point of sale (POS) directly in front of a paying customer. Literally could reach out and touch the screen while facing an employee as they enter an order. Worst placement. We ordered some drinks which were ok. Also ordered the chicken lettuce wraps which rivaled PF Chang. Quite good so complements to the chef. That brings me to Rule #2: Dont have conversations about other customers in front of other customers. These poor teenagers working in this place were more concerned with making sure an influencer was served correctly and making sure their food/drinks were comped rather than focusing on actual paying customers.Rule #3: have an actual bartender behind the bar. In the stupid chaos around the dumb influencer, the bartender was told by the waitress: he wants a Stoli martini. Bartenders reply? Stoli? Never heard of it. .............Im sorry...what!? I was staring at the bottle! Stolichnaya vodka is a staple in EVERY BAR.Enough of the rant, bottom line: New Canton missed the mark. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but so much disappointment and frustration. Missed Opportunity is a more appropriate name.
