Typical Chinese buffet. The food is average. I didn’t like seeing the flies hanging out on some of the buffet lines. It was a turn-off. And most of the food was just warm, not hot. The price was very fair for a buffet. Cheap as fast food with more options.The service was great and timely. It sure if I’d go back. But a lot of people seem to like the place. So I may try it again. But with the flies around. I’m not sure.

Love this place. I went one day and the food was so good, I don’t know why people are yapping about it. It’s was the best experienced of a Chinese buffet in history, this place beats Panda Express. The orange chicken, rice, sushi and so much was so good! Staff was so nice. U can come to me and get mad but this was the best experience

We always go to this place because we like the food but after our last experience we’re never going back. After sitting down and telling the guy my kids ages 2 other ladies came to our table when we were already eating and very very rudely said they had to charge for my kids who are not even 3 yet. They said only 1 free kid per table which is fine but her attitude was unbelievable. The lady wouldn’t let us talk and explained to her that my children don’t eat and they didn’t eat anything, she kept on putting her hand in front of us shutting us up and told us that if we didn’t like it we could call the manager the next day, also yelled at my baby to not touch her when she was right next to him. When we were ready to pay we saw they added a service charge which is tip, normally we don’t mind leaving tip but because of her attitude and rudeness we told her to take it off because we weren’t gonna pay for that. Very mad and after arguing for a while she took it off and told us next time she wasn’t gonna do it, I apologized to the first guy for not leaving him tip because he was very nice and he apologized for his coworker’s attitude, she also told me that my kids were running and destroying and I needed to control them, my kids were strapped in in their high chairs the whole time. She also told us that supposedly she was the boss and they didn’t care about their customers they only cared about making money and they didn’t care about treating their customers right because they weren’t important to them, because they still make money. Worst experience ever. That place was our go to for family dinners but it’s not the same anymore. Do not recommend that place!! If you want a nice family experience that’s not the place. Go somewhere where it’s worth it. Never ever going back!

My brother and I went for the buffet at 3:10pm on Thursday, October 28, 2023. We asked the service lady if she could bring us more salmon because the tray was empty, the service lady said this would be for dinner not lunch even though you are here for Lunch, I asked her again what time is dinner, she replied 3:30 pm. I said were already here so you want to charge us for dinner and not lunch because you put in salmon, they brought the fish and we end up charging us for dinner and not lunch. They are absolutely cheaters, liars, and scammers, I wish someone sue them and take them to court for this action. Anyone going there be careful on the prices and times. I don’t recommend this restaurant for any reasons.

I was actually rather impressed with this buffet because I really dont like buffet style food. However, this place had a lot of good food to choose from, including sushi and sushi rolls. I would go back, especially for the coconut shrimp! They even have a chocolate fountain that you can dip marshmallows in!

The food was okay, not really worth it. There wasnt enough variety. The waiters kept asking me my childrens ages, and they kept hovering over us, checking pur plates, although no one in our party served more food than we would be eating. The environment was quiet and tense due to waiters attitudes.

Array of delicious food. Cooked fresh. Hot an sour soup is my favorite. Egg drop soup too. This place grabbed my kid and nephew to the side and asked them their age . They charge you after which is fine BUT they want to charge kids like if their adults . Plus they kept charging us 6 adults when there was only 5 . We literally sat back down so they can a count (embarrassing and we were trying to go catch a movie after and had to wait so they can figure it out how much they were going to charge us ) and even after that they still try to say my daughter is 13. Shes only 11 . So they need money that bad, i get it but dont over charge your customers! they charge a $20 and up service charge which is fine HOWEVER for the service we recieved, so not worth it ! Black bear diner is next door, your money is worth spending there then in this place ! The ladies in the front are so rude !

I HATE IT DONT GO HERE!!!!I went in to eat here and after I served my food a RAT was running around the resteraunt. Every one was standing on the tables to try and escape from the rat. When I tried to leave, they told me I couldnt go because I needed to pay. If there is a rat I dont have to pay. That is a health violation. The manager had ran away from the front entrance. I ended up leaving without paying. Horrible experience. I an never going back

Been going here for years. They have discontinued the half off on second guest on Tuesdays. Still do offer 10% off for seniors. Also, they pull many lunch items at 4 and replace with items that you cant have for lunch price.

My husband and I lost our cards, we only have tap to pay for now, we arrived at the store and asked if they had this tap to pay service and the waitress didnt know. The cashier said no, when we were leaving the premises we saw that on the door it says that it has that payment method, we go back to the cashier and she tells us no again and I tell her that her point of sale has it. She replies that it is only for takeout in that collection machine. How difficult was it to tell us I dont have it for the buffet but I do have it to take away? 🤷 they should train their waiters more they are losing money

Excellent service, wide variety of options, chocolate fountain a nice touch, fairly clean establishment, could improve on keeping food warmer, I wish there was more soy free meat, but thats me.Overall, its worth trying for yourself. And I will be back there, when you are not prepping your own food, you are at the mercy of that kitchens cleanliness and preparations. The bathrooms are a good gauge for me.

If you are looking for a great Asian buffet that won’t break the bank, this is it. For under $10 you get a huge selection of outstanding Asian, American, salad bar, sushi and an awesome dessert selection. I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience. The staff here is also extremely attentive and polite. I asked for a fresh batch of salted squid and not only did they cook up one, he came to the table to let me know it was ready. As far as I know, this is the only Asian buffet in the East County, that is if you’re not counting the casino buffet’s which are nearly triple the price. There is plenty of parking as well as ample amount of seating of both tables and booths. The temperature outside was nearly 100* but inside it was nice and cool. If you’re ever in the area, “Steve says“ this is a fantastic meal for your money!They also have takeout, “buffet to go” at a great price. Thank you New Century Buffet - I won’t have to cook tonight or do the dishes!

Came in like 1.5 hrs before close and the food was very fresh and they kept putting out food till close. Service was incredible. Especially Joyce the server - I saw them being very kind and friendly to the kids in the restaurant. They really went out of their way to make sure people were having a good time. Very fast service as well.

This place is the best value for the lower price it is in the east county El Cajon area. The place could use lighting adjustments on the dinning area away from the windows and not have this dungeons vibe. They have all the usual favorite chinese food entrees, sushi rolls, fresh salad, fruit bar, deserts, and a chocolate fountain. The food can be on the salty side, so I counter it with a plate of fresh fruits at the table and a tea drink. The egg drop soup has loads of unnecessary tofu (a soy byproduct, no thanks, no low T for me) that should be seperate. The waiting staff are always tending to those dining, they are eager to clear off dishes from your table and refill drinks. They make the dining experience very satisfactory!I frequent New Century Buffet weekly and would still have gas $ for my Hummer H2 haha! As to the other buffet places like in Mission Valley that have a wide range of food selections that I dont get to, lighting and atmosphere is ideal, and not salty. The fruits and salad are all the same but double the price! A party of 3 is easily $140 and no Hummer gas $! Ill have to go with New Century Buffet!I recommend this place for those traveling by (not driving - occupational activity only) RV or Motor home who are also gas price conscious.

This Buffet is definitely better than Golden Corral but isnt as good as when they first open. It has plenty of space and lots of variety. The things I dont like is that they charge us dinner price on the weekends which is over $20. I had trouble sometimes getting eel sauce for my sushi and the drinks are $4. Again I wish they would work on making the food better like it was when they first opened and I think the price is a little high.

Changed my rating from 3 down to 2 this evening. I was disappointed to see that there is no more steak at dinner… I know we’re changing things up due to COVID -19…but I’m just not a fan of styrofoam products either. I hope to return to find things have improved…or I’ll simply quit dining here. Quality seems to have dropped noticeably.

Me and my mom went here for the first time for lunch... Wasted $$, we were sat at a booth never asked if we had been there before or knew the routine... The guy asked what we wanted to drink and walked away.I was confused, so I asked, Do we just walk around now and get our food?He said yes. It would have been nice to have some kind of instructions.The food was cold and we were there at 12:30. Food mislabeled and orange chicken was too hot to eat. The sweet sour sauce for spring rolls tasted like liquid strawberry jelly.I was extremely disappointed in both service and food.The price states on their website lunch fee is 9.97. When we checked out, it was 12.99. So thats confusing as well.I would not waste your $$ like we did save your hard earned $$ for something else!

If I could give a minus 4 star I would. The food is ok. Some things better than others. Nothing really bad. Felt like the place was not super clean but could just be lots of items need a refresh. Kudos to the wait staff. Only buffet I can remember for a long time that a lady offered and got me more ice tea. There was a man wait person who seemed to try and be upbeat and nice to all. Dinner out the door before tip was 21 bucks. Cost that to have a burger at Dennys with a drink. Not cheap but not overpriced. Lots of sushi choices. Nothing bad to say just will not return. Too many kids.

The food here was great but the service here wasnt all that good especially when we first came into the restaurant me and my stepfather went and talked to my sister who was getting her food already I was showing my dad a sign that was posted while waiting to pay for me to get in to eat and one lady came up to us both and told us we had to pay and than when we went to pay for me she tried to charge us more when my sister had already paid for my mother and stepfather and we told the lady that and she argued with us that my sister only paid for herself and then when the receipt was brought up she changed tune and than said that she wasnt up at the register when my sister came in and paid for 3 but was just rude and needed to mind her own business and learn how to treat customers maybe even needs to take a class on customer etiquette

Visited for the first time on 2/10/23 and was underwhelmed. I love orange chicken, but this orange chicken just wasnt it. Maybe Im just picky because I like mine crispy, but these were soggy and swimming in sauce. The fried rice didnt have much flavor, and the egg drop soup was super thick and I couldnt get past the texture. The service was also quite bad. The lady that was helping my mother-in-law took her card out ofnher hand. Not sure if she was just being impatient or having an off night, but I cant really see those as an excuse to physically take someones card out of their hand the way she did. Then, she seemed to harass my mother-in-law about signing the receipt, which she was already doing. Im going to give it another try, as Im hoping we just come on a rough night.

I arrived at 1530, the start of dinner time. They had some good items, but an overwhelming number of items were just lackluster or old and cold on the bar. I found stuff I could eat and I ate my fill. I personally was not impressed, but I also understand I probably hit them at a bad time and that it also could have been much worse.

This place is always great. The lobster rolls and egg drop soup are my favorites. Ive never had to wait for more than 5mins to be seated. Most of the time they meet you right by the door and take you to whichever booth or table. They have sushi too.

I had a bad experience with the manager. I found food in bad condition(it smelled rotten) and i just wanted to let the staff to know about this. They called the manager. When the manager came, he said that the food was good in a sarcastic way. I was not seeking a free meal, I just thought it was important to let the manager know about that because people can get sick. The staff was cool but the manager. I do not recommend to eat in this restaurant. (I payed for the food, in case you ask )as I said, I was not looking for a free meal.

The rice was good. The salad I made myself was good, except....they had the ranch and blue cheese dressings switched opposite of the signage. Ugh wasnt expecting that blue cheese! The watermelon was mushy, as were the spring rolls. Hot food Wasnt hot, semi warm at best. The workers intimidate you into eating everything, whether its good or not. Everything was amazing. Me and my grandma went there and she loved all of the sea food that they had to offer. We both had a wide variety of food and we both loved everything we had without a doubt. Wasnt very busy at all, good noise level, staff was friendly. Bathrooms were also decently clean. Overall this place was an amazing first impression and we both loved all the different foods.

I used to frequent this place before COVID. Their drinks always looked like the glass had greasy residue. Now its great with everything being disposable and antibacterial gel in several stations. Great service and better cleanliness. Will definitely be coming back again more often.

We went to dinner. I liked about half the menu. I disliked the lemonade, so I drank out of my sons soda and it tasted off but drinkable (we both think the ice was made of faucet water). The garlic bread looked good but it was hard as f***. The chow mein (noodles) was tasteless (they tasted like if they where boiled in water and they never added seasoning). A lot of the food maybe would have tasted better if it wasnt hard like the coconut shrimp tasted good but had very hard parts (like hard candy). The fried chicken tasted good but was hard on the outside. The salad I made was delicious. The watermelon was delicious. The teriyaki chicken was good. Yes, I would go again but If I where to go back it would be soon after the food goes out so it wont be hard.

It was Christmas day, I have eaten here many times beforeAnd every thing was excellent.However the last two timesIts on the down hill and side.Most of the food trays were empty or almost empty.The food that was available was cold, and they were slow at refilling the trays .I felt that I didnt receive what I paid for, expected it to be betterOn Christmas day.The buffet has always been very clean, no flys or bugsThe restroom very clean.I will go back one more timeIf no improvement it will be theLast time.I hope that the owners read thisAnd take the necessary steps to correct the problems.

Just because I was in the El cajon area I stopped to eat here but all the buffets are now the same no flavor or over ginger flavor I just do not know any more I miss my original buffet China town in Chula Vista on Broadway by parkway that was the best Chinese buffet ever it was owned by a family husband wife and there college kids worked there .

They gave us another bill without the discount,, and wanted the difference,,When we asked about the senior discount they had no answer,, so we had to pay full price even though we are old enough to have it put on our bill,,, Very Bad Service !!! 😡😡😡 I also want to point out that we will never know if that new bill was just changed to rip us off 🤨🤨😡

Ive been going here for a few years now and Ive never had to complain once.Staff: Fast Paced, friendly and attentive.Food: Wide variety of authentic Asian quisine: Soups, desserts and the seafood is great. Overall the food is fantastic. But dont take my work for it, visit the place yourself and have a look-see.In my stance, I love this place, its neat, clean and delicious.Keep in mind what works for me might not work for you, so dont get pissed if the food doesnt add up to your liking.Just like how there are many people who enjoy this place, there are others who dont.

Not good! Lobster roll was rancid; most dishes were cold and old and did not taste good. The employees are on their cell phones and having a big conversation right next to you when eating. Later after I left (couldnt eat too much as it was disgusting) I felt horrible...I thought I was going to be sick. Save your money and your health!

Plates and utensils are all throw away items (styrofoam plates and cups, plastic forks although they do still have chopsticks) food was still good for a buffet, although the fried rice this time didnt taste very fried. Some regular items for those picky eaters such as fries, pizza if I recall, chicken wings. Liked their egg drop soup.

My boyfriend and I took my daughter and her boyfriend for her 18 the Birthday. This was coincidentally my daughters and boyfriends favorite place to eat.The day we went was 10/08/18 about 4:30pm.First of all the main reason my daughter has loved that place since she was little was the sushi. I have been here a few times. The service is great and the vibe is calm. The waiters are efficient and you never wait long for a refill.Lunch is good, but dinner is the time to go. I love the steak (they provide A1 sauce), the cocunut shrimp, the cooked shrimp you can peel, stuffed shrimp, salted shrimp, and ribs.You also have many Chinese dishes like beef and broccoli, fried rice, noodles, orange chicken, and many more. When I do a buffet, I always like this one. I feel it is the cheapest one. I love the food variety here and we always go for dinner, just about 20 minutes before, because we like the dinner menu but there is what we call cheesy mussels that we enjoy here. They are delicious and dessert is always a great variety. They only reason I gave it a 4 star is because the business started charging for drinks separately which was never done here and one of the reasons why we always like it.

Customer service is a joke this the most unsanitary establishment I have ever seen. The staff come to your table to get you refills on your drink while having full hands of dirty dishes. I watched their wait station for an hour and none of them washed their hands once. Yet continued to get refills and bus tables. This was my second visit. I so enjoy this restaurant! It is an all you can eat, Chinese restaurant. Ive only had lunch each time. The place is very spacious inside. The tables are not piled on top of each other. The area for serving yourself has plenty of room to move around. Its very clean. The food and choices are fantastic!! So many different choices! Each time Ive been there, I make sure to try different foods Ive never had before. The presentation for some of the food is wonderful! If something happens to be popular, you dont need to worry about waiting patiently for more to be brought out. I need to repeat myself, about all the different choices they have! Its unclean, i watched the waiter wipe down a table pick up a dirty dish and then touch the top of my cup with his dirty hands. He then filled that now dirty cup up with my refill. Then i asked that waiter to get me a new cup, and he poured the lasts cups drink in the new cup. I refused to drink it, then later the hostess apologizes in his behalf, and got us all new cups and drinks.

Food very good, you get exactly what you pay. It can get a little messy and the food might be lukewarm but a majority of the food is amazing. I come here often and would highly suggest it.

So Im a vegetarian, I was able to eat 3 plates of food with no meat, it filled me up and was delicious, was a bit sad no eggrolls since they are my fav, but all in all was great, had my fam with me, turned out to be 20$ a head, which for the quality of the food, is very much worth it
