We occasionally eat or order to go here. The Chinese food is very good, as well as, the sushi. Our recent order was a take out. Its the second time that they gave us a food item for free. It was the tempura sweet potato. We really appreciate that! The staff is friendly and courteous!

Love this place! Such a great atmosphere and quality service very respectful, proper, and friendly staff. Food is excellent I love that there is Chinese AND japanese food. Sushi 🍣 is some of the best Ive had. Hot sake 🍶 served with traditional wares and hot when delivered to your table as it should be. I had my birthday dinner here and booked one of the rooms which I highly recommend if youd like the full experience.

Good ambience. Good food. Chow mein was a little salty. Ordered a side of chow mein for my 4 year old and got about a pound of it. Not proportioned for a child. Wish they would have told me what the serving was like.

I had a much larger star review, but this is now the third time, I have coughed up plastic, and choked on plastic from their soups.Once was eating it from when my mother dropped some off... I assumed it was a fluke.Once while eating there, I again assumed/like an idiot, that this must just be some weird coincidence.But, we ordered soup again today, and I coughed up plastic, it cut my throat, and Im over it.I cant even believe I allowed this to happen this many times.Definitely stupid on my part.I have photos of the plastic. It is thick, sharp, and no idea how much I actually swallowed. This is unacceptable, and not okay. This used to be my favourite place, but I cant ever eat here again.Check your soup. Mainly the won ton types.This was from one bowl. I havent broke apart the rest but I am sure there is more plastic in there.

To start, I called to put in an order for take out and was put on hold which is no big deal but then the woman came back on the line and said ok what do you want, hurry up. I let it go and continued with my order anyway. This is my first time trying New China, and will be the last. The food had absolutely no flavor, we got orange chicken, chow mein and broccoli beef and we all ended up throwing our plates out after a couple bites. Sadly their prices are the highest ive ever paid for chinese food only to be the worst ive ever had.

Had gyoza, miso soup, and a combo plate of veggie chow mein with lemon chicken and broccoli beef. Kind of weird but I feel like vegetable chow mein usually comes with a few more vegetables... Still good, anyway. The portions feel like they look small but end up being surprisingly filling. This is definitely a place I come to often and have always liked the food a lot. I also love that I can have the best of both worlds here because of the Chinese and Japanese food menus! The service is decent more often than not, and the atmosphere is always just a bit dim in the lighting department with some soft music playing in the background.

We’re here in Manteca to experience the water park. I and my husband are vegan and the the vegan options at the water park are very limited. We’re so glad we have found New China Restaurant! We ordered vegan fried rice; vegan chow mein, and mixed vegetables with tofu. These dishes are not greasy and salty! They’re cooked in low oil and low salt which is a huge plus for us because we’re trying to maintain our health.This restaurant is a gem in Manteca! The service was great, and the atmosphere was friendly. Their food is reasonably priced.we’re used to paying more for vegan food but not in this case. Because we were so satisfied with our meals, we even ordered take out!

This is the sister restaurant to the one that closed in Ripon. Same family, and the food is almost exactly the same. They do have Japanese options, which are just as delicious as the Chinese options. It is a huge menu with lots of choices to satisfy whatever craving. But be patient, they arent in a hurry.Weve enjoyed both menus, the Chinese, and the Japanese.The veggie tempura is super delicious, and so is the sizzling rice soup. The pot stickers are huge, and the wrapper is so soft, more like a dumpling, while the gyoza is smaller and deep fried. The sushi rolls are delicious, according to multiple people in my family, and the bento boxes have really good options.While we are super sad the Ripon location closed, we are really happy to have an alternative that is almost 100% equitable.

This place is a GEM! The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. The food was incredible. We enjoyed the sushi and chinese food. The Garlic Chicken was incredible. The sushi rolls were huge and delicious. We went with a part of 7 and all of us were happy with New China! That never happens. We will be back!

I love the decorations in this place and the music, it sets the mood very well. The food is delicious of course. Some of it needs extra soy sauce but thats a personal preference. I have not tried their sushi so I cant give a full review

I got the New China Chow Mein, the dish seemed watery and had little to no seasoning or flavor. The chow mein was mainly comprised of sprouts, less so of any noodles. The lemon and orange chicken had bold and tangy flavors, which was a delightful and stark difference. The honey walnut prawns were delicious. The service was quick and kind.

Don’t order the Chow Mien! Ordered Chicken Chow Mien. Noodles, cabbage and your choice of meat, which was hard to find. No onion, celery, carrot, or flavoring. This is the worst we’ve had! We emptied most of the soy sauce to add flavor. We asked the server if the cook made a mistake pr missing ingredients. But no, that’s how they make it.And if you want Vegetable Chow Mien, you get noodles, cabbage, and a leaf of Bok Choy. Terrible.Server didn’t apologize or offer price adjustment.Nice decor, tho.

Worst restaurant service. My one star is for their poor wait staff and servers. Their food is usually decent and fairly priced. But their servers and managers are horrible especially for call in orders. We’ve been eating here forever that they know us by name, and they served us red meat fried rice. Mom took one bite and developed a severe reaction as we do not eat any red meat. I always make sure I make this allergy well aware of when ordering my food in person and especially over the phone. Poor service.

I am not going to lie I have bypassed this place so many times because it appeared to be a hole in the wall and the prices I saw seemed so low I didnt expect quality or quantity. I stand very much corrected I tried them today cause my regular spot for sushi is closed and I will MOST CERTAINLY return I did my order to go and upon picking up my bags I was surprised at how heavy they were when I got home these rolls are huge and the price I paid doesnt even begin to cover what I feel I got flavor is wonderful size is fantastic I am actually very very impressed by this location definitely recommending it and you gotta try the lion king it is phenomenal props to the people running it. thank you for such a great experience

A real gem. Complete authentic Chinese interior including the ceiling! The atmosphere is quiet and dark, not too dark, but dark like an expensive restaurant.The service is very attentive and friendly. The menu is good sized and the food is very tasty and plenty of it.Weve been coming here for years and were never disappointed. We bring the family for birthdays and the kids have grown up loving the New China Restaurant.

Food is great but unfortunately the service was shot today. I made an order to go but by the time I got there to pick up my order I still had 30 min before I had to pick up my son from class so I asked if I could sit down and eat one of my sushi rolls since I had some time to kill and the lady gave me a horrible look and said yes but then when I went and sat down another lady asked if I was taking it to go or dine in so I explained that I wasn’t going to dine in but have some time to kill so now at this point a man is also involved (2 woman and 1 man) telling me if I order to go than it needs to be to go because they charge more to dine in. (Something I was never aware of) they said that this time I can stay but honestly I felt so uncomfortable at that point that I just left! Btw I eat at this place all the time and sit in the same spot every time I do. I was very disappointed at how they treated me. I was not asking for service, just a place to sit while I wait for my son to get out of class. I even tipped although I didn’t get the service of a dine in! Not sure I’ll be going back.

Absolutely terrible Im surprised theyve been in business as long as they have. Their potstickers were disgusting chow mein was super greasy the shrimp they use for their fried prongs smelled and tasted old. Hands down probably one of the worst Chinese places in Manteca. There is plenty of other Chinese food restaurants I would choose over this one in Manteca.

I looked at their menu online and saw something I never had seen before-Honey Walnut Chicken...and it was listed under their Specials menu. I phoned in an order to pick up which also included Almond Chicken Chow Mein and a hot pork dish. As I was paying I noticed the amount for the special was higher than listed on their webpage. I asked the owner about it and he said they dont have that special and said I may not have been looking under the Manteca location. I paid, put the food in my car and came back in with my phone and showed him his webpage. After staring blankly at it for 3 minutes he said they dont have that special and went on about how other items listed havent been served in years. I told him that was false advertising and he should honor what he has listed in writing (as that is what got me to order from the place). I told him I would not return and I guess hes a funny guy because he instantly mumbled some words in Chinese and his employees standing nearby got a great chuckle out of it.If you cant handle a small problem there is no was you can handle a big one.The food was not very good either. More than one black hair in my food (I dont have black hair), one dish was cold, one was flavorless and the other had way too much batter. Some of the chicken was hard, tough, and very chewy. Poor food, poor customer service does not equate to a return visit. Guess who gets the last laugh...Oh, the owner did say he didnt know who put that on his webpage.....

The first lady helping me straight up told me I couldnt order something then instead of telling me what I could order she answered the phone and completely ignored me in the middle of my order. Another gentleman came and was able to complete my order. Waited 15 minutes for take out. Got home and the chicken was still extremely pink in the middle. Bad service and poorly cooked meat. My lunch combo was never prepared or sent to the table with the other food and I waited over 20 min to find out they never made it. Proceeded to hear yelling between employees all the way into the dining area. When I approached the manager about my experience she interrupted me 2 sentences in and began arguing with me and yelling loudly. She was mad because I cancelled my order...the leftovers from the other persons meal was already packed to go. No reason for my meal to have never been prepares or served within the hour we were at the establishment. SANDI the freckled faced..very rude and unhappy manager has to be the most unproffesional and unhappy human I have met. After 20 years of excusing occasional mistakes and hair in our food...I am DONE giving me this place a chance and will never go back for their overpriced mediocre food.

They have roaches, and they don’t seem to care enough about this situation, when confronted they were rude and said that’s okay as if they didn’t care and wouldn’t give a refund.
