Its pretty small and jank inside by American restaurant standards but seems normal for a random Chinese restaurant. We ordered food and it came out quickly. Their cong you bing is pretty weird (see picture). Their Xiao long bao is pretty soupy. Their other dishes are nice size and flavorful. There was a small very very very cute pet cat wandering around.

Very comfortable, no-nonsense little eatery!Nice variety of items on menu; many different kinds of dumplings - all delicious! The braised string beans were so fresh & tasty! The salt & pepper chicken wings were so flavorful and crispy, yet tender inside!The service was friendly and efficient... an overall pleasant experience!Were definitely going back to try other menu items!

Had all vegetarian dishes - veg dumplings, green onion pancake, string beans, mapo tofu. All very tasty, good portions, esp loved the dumplings. Very reasonably priced, too. Would have liked larger plates to eat from.

Food is good value and came out fast. Dumplings are pretty large, but Id still say you need more than a single thing per person - we got a tray of dumplings each and shared the tofu (which was especially good!). I also appreciated that the vegetarian and peanut-containing options were noted on the menu.

Visually, the food looks somewhat appetizing, but unfortunately its not palatable.1/5 The noodles tasted sour, the meat wasnt fresh either. Almost as if it were leftover from the night before, tossed into the wok and reheated.3/5 The filling of the soup dumplings was ok, a bit bland, but XLB was the best item.2.5/5 Pan fried dumplings couldve been fried a bit longer, but Ive definitely had worse.Out of all the excellent choices in the city theres no need to return here. I dined in as well, the vibe is extremely depressing. The kid working as the host and who is essentially the face of the restaurant didnt even want to be there.Theres just no pride and its obvious that this spot is coasting off of takeout and uber eats orders. Steamed dumplings were not freshly made(most likely frozen).Pan fried buns were just steamed buns with a fried bottom. Dan Dan noodles were way off. Our utility plates were tiny (like used for espresso), I asked for a dipping sauce dish, and they provided the plastic disposable condiment takeout container.

Dumplings were fine, but the guy who took us to the table and waited on us started clipping his fingernails right in the front, in very clear earshot of our table. Would be very concerned about the cleanliness of a place where that is accepted.

We were told the food would take 15, but it took closer to a half hour. We were almost given the wrong order. The eggplant was too sweet and not of good consistency. The tofu snack was about 25% filler red onions, garlic, and peppers. I would’ve preferred more tofu. My friend also ordered scallion pancakes and said they were worse than the other two dishes. It seems like the food is catered to the Americanized Chinese palette. The only plus is that the food stayed hot for a while.

It looks a little sketchy at first, but there are some cute details. The food is hot and satisfying, with well-sized portions for a reasonable price. The service is quiet, but competent. Dumplings and soups are great comfort food, while the honey walnut prawns and lemon chicken are a good take on american-style chinese food. It’s worth a convenient detour to eat here.

Decent Chinese fare on Balboa. I would come back for the Bao baos, for sure. The dan dan noodles, portion was huge but not my favorite. The kiddos enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken.

Yes. It is open. Can takeout or sit in (take out has been quick, and kind). Good dumplings. Lots of flavor. Ive been 3 times now, and its consistently good (i wouldnt say stunning, but its been consistently good, as expected). Ive been getting dandan noodles, shanghai soup dumplings, some regular dumplings and pea sprouts or green beans.

Just wow. The quality of food not to mention the service level displayed by the owner and staff were really appalling. So much so, quite honestly this restaurant would qualify for easily the worst Chinese restaurant in San Francisco if not the Bay Area.We visited, a party of 5, including an elderly close relative and young child. The owner was quite rude to our grandmother when she asked for an extra napkin during the dinner. Now you get an idea of what kind of place this is. Stay away at all costs. So rude and the food here is way below average.

We used to stop at this place before every Outsidelands, a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away. The spicy dumplings were spicier and the garlic noodles were more garlicky...or maybe its nostalgia wrapped up with the music fest. The soup dumplings were still solid. Not bad, but not great.

We just moved to the neighborhood and needed dinner with indoor dining at 8pm. We were pleasantly surprised of the quality of food. Great eggplant and dumplings! Food is very clean, not heavily seasoned or greasy. Will definitely come back again.

We had some good but not amazing food here - szechuan eggplant with garlic sauce, mapo tofu, and veggie dumplings. Big portions, looks nice, tastes good, but no oomph.Inside was not the cleanest, outside is uncovered and only for takeout not for table service. The son was serving and clearly doesnt want to, which is understandable.

Went for the soft opening, which was pretty well executed. Dumplings were tasty, we also tried the bao, which was good and the egg flower soup, which was average. One nice thing is the portions are on the larger since so unlike other dim sum places, you might only need 1-1.5 dishes for a meal. They also had a pretty wide selection of vegetarian dishes.

Wonderful food and awesome service! Glad they’re staying open through the quarantine and doing delivery/takeout, without them I’d go crazy! I can’t wait to be able to go back in and enjoy the great vibe and atmosphere they provide with their amazing food! Found dead caterpillar in food.Ordered food from here Thursday the 13th of August 2020. Ordered a few different dishes, one of them was the Shanghai dumpling soup. After eating two dumplings we found a dead caterpillar in it. So disgusting.

Walking by and theres a girl in the window making dumpling and they have green onion pancake on the menu so i go in....food is meh....service is not a word they know....and theres NO HEAT....its 50 degrees outside and 50 degrees inside....took 30 min to get food to go and there were only 2 other tables inside...i wont return
