Great service, great prices, great ambience. Very generous portions. I got a lax bagel and there was insane amount of salmon but the bagel itself was just meh, nothing to do with New York bagels. Not enough cream cheese and other ingredients. They definitely mean well but the ratio is off. The coffee was alright, nothing to write home about. I’ll probably try something else sometime but don’t have my hopes up.

Met the owner while they where under construction today...boy where you RUDE..DONT worry ill never be back. How did I know you where closed? The best bagel place ever! We usually don’t post any reviews, but we couldn’t not to this time. The staff is very nice, friendly and helpful, food and coffee are delicious, we enjoyed it so much! We were a family of 5 with two kids, and it was a very pleasant experience. We were nocked out by the hospitality. Would definitely go here again!

We found this place by surprise, and it was absolutely outstanding. The staff could not have been more lovely, and Chef Brian and Al came out to introduce himself. It was casual, quick and I can’t wait to come back and visit. Their menu is easy to navigate. The bagel was perfect and the selection of sodas are wonderful. They also offer an assortment of fresh juices.

Get a taste of New York at LA. My girlfriend and i were welcomed at the front door by the nicest staff i have ever met. Energy of the place was amazing and the food is outstanding. They even got kombucha on tap.

The best bagels in the San Fernando Valley, made artisan-style, fresh, every day. My go-to sandwich here is The Works: a classic lox and cream cheese sandwich with fresh tomato, red onion, capers, and the surprise addition of spinach. Today, my dining companion had chicken salad on an everything bagel. He pronounced it moist and delicious. We actually got dessert this time, a crepe cake with Chantilly cream between each layer. Magnificent! We have been here many, many times, and loved it every time. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, so latecomers beware.

When the owner of this bagel shop, Daveed, was opening this store a few years back, he would always come to my Home Depot store and specifically look for me so I can hook him up with discounts. I had given him hundreds off multiple times and he invited me to come over to his shop. When I visited, he still charged me full price on everything.. and it is not economical here.. still upset he did this. Ended up getting in trouble for this too all because I wanted to help someone who seemed like a genuine man.

Their bagels are decent but the staff can’t manage to make coffee. I’ve given it multiple tries and every time the coffee is wrong. One employee told me he was terrible at making coffee and apologized it would be bad. Today I was given iced tea instead of ice coffee in my latte. They couldn’t even manage to give another customer a black coffee correctly.

Friendly staff serving tasty sandwiches in a comfy and jazzy atmosphere. I was raised in NYC, so its nice to chill in a place with that big apple vibe. The bagels are fresh, and their coffee is not only tasty but healthier than Starbucks. Forget about it! Stop in and taste that brew for yourself. Youll know what Im talking about.

Best bagel place on the west coast. I’m from Long Island I know a thing or two about bagels and bacon egg n cheese. Trust me THIS the spot. The owner is friendly, happy to meet you, excited about his menu and overall creates a very East Coast experience to say the least. If you’re looking for Einstein bagels, where the workers don’t say nothing to you and it’s corporate as hell then yup wrong place. BUT if you’re looking for at home, east coast, organic food, YUP. RIGHT PLACE. You found it. So go in and try something you won’t be disappointed.AND there’s so many vegan options, so excited to bring my girlfriend here. This is the new SPOT in town for us :)

Came here for the first time today with my girlfriend. We paid over $45 for two coffees and two bagels. They forgot to put the lox in my lox bagel... My girlfriends bagel was delivered comically small.. and an extra $2.85 charge was stuck on the bill for a bagel we didnt order. Wont be returning.

I always look up the lowest reviews. Usually the people seem to be entitled and expecting five star hotel service for what they pay. I went in the afternoon, after getting a tattoo across the street. I got lox and cream cheese on an everything bagel. The young man working there was very welcoming and helpful. He said the coffee was “the best in the universe”. I said okay, let’s see. It was quite good. Smooth. The bagel was high quality and lox I enjoyed just as much as the ones at the Waldorf Astoria. If you complain about prices, make more money, or SHUT UP AND EAT AT HOME :) I’ll be back. Oh and he gave me a complimentary red velvet cookie as it was my first time there.

This place is whack. I knew this wasn’t a real NY bagel place when I saw spinach was included on the lox bagel sandwich. Also when we walked in on a Saturday morning around 10am, the bagel bins were empty. It’s like they woke up and forgot to make bagels or they were serving day old bagels. I ordered the lox bagel sandwich (without the spinach thank you) and my boyfriend has the veg out sandwich. Total was $30. That’s insane for bagels. Then when my lox sandwich came, it had just ONE measly tomato on it. For the price I’m paying, you think you could give me at least two slices. And the vegan cream cheese on the veg out was terrible. Tasted like rotten hummus. Not coming back.

Lively lovely Sunday brunch bagel place that hit the spot for this New Yorker and her Quintessential Jewish Mama. Delish in house hand sliced Norwegian smoked salmon, fresh baked soft, yummy bagels. Unique to NYBC: David, the host with the most, high Ph 9.5 alkaline water and ice cubes served as house water and in the coffee. House roasted non acrylamide coffee. Gorgeous pastries and deserts. I love this bagel place!! Im from the east coast and honestly, this little joint is one of the best bagels I have found on the west coast. The quality and freshness of the bagels alone make it worth of 5 stars, but what brings it to a whole new level is their vegan options. The kids and I stopped in here almost by accident yesterday. We were passing through town and the live music and good energy outside lured us in. Worth trying. Breakfast bagel sandwich was very delicious, though not my healthy choice, but great for a hungry person. Decent size, yummy. Maybe I should try less caloric option the next time. Bagel was as good as in New York. I also bought a bag of bagels made by them. Not tried yet.Somewhat overpriced, that is the only reason for taking 1 star away. Not to die for sandwich, but decent and worth trying.

Dome reviewers may brag about the are the best bagels OK. However, i came here since Western bagels was packed and didnt want to wait for so long so I came here and when I got the total got shocked. But what I most disagree is that they charge you for veggies and Of you order the works is even more expensive.The truth is that people dont care to pay almost double. I do though.

Avoid this bagel place.No exaggeration. 2 bagels with cream cheese cost $11.40. We waited 20 min for our bagels. There was nobody in front of us at that point. That was how long we had to wait for no reason. The bagels were small, hard, and werent very good, One of them was gluten-free and it tasted like chalk.Cream cheese was good though.

The food here is great and the people working are niceBUTThe owner/manager single-handedly ruined our experience. He sat in the corner barking orders at his staff when the line got long. Because of this our order was missed and we waited 20 minutes longer to an expected. We don’t mind waiting for good food but hearing him yell at his crew didn’t make for an enjoyable waiting experience.We’ve been here before and enjoyed it enough to come back a few times. If you’re lucky enough to go while the owner isn’t there you’ll be fine.We also noticed rotting food in the cake case. There were old Oreo cheesecake slices with moldy grapes and strawberries. The place itself is also not the cleanest.

It makes me so sad to be submitting this review. I used to love this place and had rated it 5 stars but, within the past few months so many things have changed for the worse. I emailed the company asking them about the changes and they never responded. Their care for their customers is obviously nonexistent. The quality of their products has gone down and the price has gone up. Without any explanation. The least they could’ve done is post a note up explaining to customers what changes to expect and why. They used to give you an amazing helping of cream cheese and now they give you the amount any other place will, but charge more. They used to wrap the bagels in paper and now they wrap them in foil (so bad for the environment). Many times I came and had inconsistencies with my coffee and bagels. Ex: One day, I ordered two coffees, one was perfect and the other one was so watery. So sad to see things change like this!

Wish I could rate more. Seems like a nice vibe, and staff are friendly, but food is way overpriced and not great quality. I understand the coffee is organic, but its weak and bland and at $3.75, way too pricey. And $7.50 for a dry bagel, with just some egg and cheese (no spread, no veggies, no seasoning) is too much. And the bagel did not have the hard shell and fluffy interior of a great bagel. I would love to support small businesses like this but even Noahs has far better (and more authentic) bagels, and stronger, tastier coffee.

Great vibration to the setting. It feels like home and the staff is a huge part of its culture. Im feeling at ease and in a safe zone. This place has been my go to for bagels for over 10 years. Ever since the business was bought a few years ago this place has declined. This year my 2 dz Christmas bagels cost $49.99. Just bagels, no cream cheese, no lox just bagels!! They are supposed to open at 6:30 in the morning, this is the time I pass by on my way to work and at least 3 days out of 5 there are NO bagels ready when they open their doors!! I have not explored many New York restaurants before. This place has a cool vibe that makes me think of something different, something better that must exist in NY. The owner greeted each customer while I was here with a sincere smile. He joked about silly things with staff. Unique atmosphere. This isnt Starbucks, people. The food and drinks are great and span all genres. Are you Vegan?. They got it. Paleo? Of course. Gluten-free? No problem. And thats not including the fantastic live entertainment. Theres always something going on. Live music, poetry, or stand-up comedy have been going on each time Ive stopped in. The staff was incredibly friendly as well. The owner, David, introduced himself the second I walked in and remembers my name every time. Its little things like that mixed with all the big things that make this place my new favorite place in all of LA.
