First time in with the new ownership in place. I’ve been coming here for over 3 decades, and since the original owner. I found today’s emergency visit pleasant, and feel that the new ownership and their manager Kyle, will win over the community with their highly customer centric approach in handling people with car issues. I spent about 2 hours there waiting for an unexpected repair to complete, and observed the positive interactions with arriving customers. Keep up the good work!

I have brought several of my cars to Newark Tire and Auto for random services including alignments and misc maintenance tasks. I been going to this establishment for roughly 7 years and I have been extremely pleased and satisfied with the quality of work and customer service provided. The boss is always friendly and ready to answer any questions you may have. If you need a reliable shop that you can 100 % trust with your car, Newark Tire and Auto is your place. I dont know why this place has a great review. Please AVOID this place if you are local. I went in for a flat tire, the guy was super rude never introduced himself, never asked my name or how I am doing. They quoted $45, which seems quite expensive but I was willing to pay. While they are working on it, the guy comes to me and says Oh your alignment is slightly off, we recommend doing an alignment, I asked how off is it? the guy was like a little bit on the front, so I asked how much and they said 109 or something, so I told them to go ahead. After everything was done, another guy was doing the checkout, he was screaming to the first guy how much should I charge? I guess how much they charge is not standardized and they charge whatever they feel like on a given day... The killer was that they gave me alignment test results before and after performing the alignment and everything was GREEN already BEFORE doing the alignment (meaning I didnt need alignment), so the whole alignment thing was just a SCAM. I always try to give chances to these local shops to see how they are and try to find the one that is honest and trustworthy. I guess they failed the test and I wont be returning. I really dont understand their logic. I would think it would benefit them more to establish a long-term relationship. Why would they get greedy and scam so openly just to make extra $100 for the day. If you are the store owner, I would try to educate your employees differently.

Tried again today on my next day off (Saturday) and they dont have anyone to do it for me and asked me to come back again first thing Monday morning. I have work Monday morning. He was able to find a replacement for my catalytic converter, while other shops said it would take almost 3 months as it was back ordered. He saved me a lot of money. I went again next time to get a custom after market equipment installed into my Benz and he did an excellent job within a very reasonable price. Great guy and I highly recommend him

The Armenian manager guy is extremely extremely rude, first quoted $400 for two low brand tires and once I said ok then added $250 extra for alignment. When I said let me think about it, he quickly told me to move my car from parking or he will get it towed if I’m not buying. Typical snake oil seller toxic & cunning behaviour to take advantage of pooor customers stuck with difficult situations!! Armenian guy is ruining the business

This is very long over due. Ive been coming here since 2017, the owner of this place has always provided excellent customer service. Back in 2022, George, went above and beyond to find the tire I needed and had it installed the next day. I was able to drive safely to Southern California to my grandmothers funeral. I blew a tire at work and, knowing that my tires were often special orders, I called around to shops nearby and George told me that they had it in stock. He asked me when I thought Id come by and I told him in 20 minutes. He explained that he had to send someone to get it from the warehouse. He didnt ask me for a credit card or really my name, but he sent someone to go pick up the tire. My supposedly run-flat tires never made it all the way to his shop and I had to call a tow truck. I called George back and let him known that Id be arriving later than planned and he said it was okay and gave me an update on how long it would take the tire to arrive. Eventually, the tow truck came and brought me to the shop. Perhaps 10 minutes later, the tire showed up and George had someone promptly change the tire. I assumed from the smoke and damage that Id destroyed my TPS (tire pressure sensor) and George couldve easily charged me another $200-300 bucks if he wanted to and I wouldnt have known any difference. The TPS was fine, they installed the tire and it all worked perfectly. I paid exactly what he quoted me. Also, the shop was well organized and clean and George was a good communicator, trustworthy, professional, and friendly. Ill definitely go back again.

I went in there 30 mins before closing time. The gentleman at the desk tells me he cannot help me because there was no one there beside him so he couldnt help. I had a slice of sheet metal stuck in it and he tells me that I need a new one. All of a sudden he tells me he may have a used tire my size that I am in need of. At this point Im confused if hes going to help me or not. Totally misleading me. He tells me he can sell me a used tire for $125 but he needs cash!!! I came to get my tire fixed after a botched plug job at a previous shop. George took my car in despite only working with one other employee, and knowing how difficult fixing the tire would be. He charged me an amazing price and was done very quickly. I live in SJ and just left an appointment, I noticed the Goodyear Tire shop and was in need of an alignment, last week had an oil change and was aware of the conditions of my tires and brakes. When I walked in one person was being helped but I was greeted right away. George is the manager who greeted me explained the cost and alignment service I started to inquire about the other things I knew it needed and he took my word for it and no High pressure sale! He was able to find me 20 inch tires in my price range. And no transparent to the charge. I drove in with a check engine light and they performed a thorough check - found a number of preventative maintenance issues overdue... remember your preventative maintenance. We had a conversation about what to prioritize and what I could afford. I felt him looking out for me throughout the service and even when the service took more time, he held true to his estimate.The shop closes at 6; 6:30 and George himself had his hands dirty working hard to ensure I got my car out the same day. We took our car there after we got bad fuel at a gas station nearby (go ahead and guess). They did a great job on all of the repairs. New fuel pump, lines, spark plugs, and injectors. Everything was way cheaper then what the dealer would have charged, and I can say we received quality work. I got the feeling that they were very honest and capable. Would definitely recommend.

Dont go this place. The George guy would try everything to set you up for tire replacement with ridiculous price. I was trying to patch my tire and he completely destroyed it and asked me to buy a used tire for $250 or I cant drive away. Quote for new tires were also way more expensive than other tire shop. Save you money and avoid this place.Just edit regarding to owner’s response: the tire was unpatchable but in drivable condition. If you could not patch it you should have left the way it was instead of making it entirely flat and forced the customer to buy tire from you without other choices.

I had a mishap with one of my tires yesterday and it was absolutely amazing how George was able to go out of his way to assist me. I had a flat tire after leaving work and was going to wait for a tow truck to tow my car back to Oakland but decided it was worth a shot to give some local tire stores a call. It just happens that Newark Tire & Auto Services was the closest and George took my call at 5:45PM - 15 minutes before they closed. My TPMS kept going off the last 2 days and after checking the pressure and putting air in, I had a feeling that I may have a nail in one of my tires.I came in and asked Price if they would be able to take a look at it for me and he said No problem but Ill have to charge you. I thought he was making a joke because of course, I expected to be charged, who thinks that services are free? Apparently, he had had a lot of people come in with that expectation. If it has any negative rating, this auto services deserve to be in negative -5. One of the worst and most cheating service i had been till now.The funny part is that for just 1 quantity of caliper he charged 450$ and labor he charged 220$. Just for changing one rotor, caliper and brake pad and for alignment he charged 1800$. But while on phone he said we are changing 2 sides of rotors. Though the parts were there, he said parts were missing.Request guys be aware before going to this guy. He is over arrogant and cheats very easily.

George always goes through the report and highlight existing issues or the ones that needs to be replaced in the near future. Great work for a great price. I took my Jetta in today to replace the intercooler intake pipe. The shop I took it to first was asking $1500 for the job, and they wouldnt touch a used part. Only factory original. I was upset so I decided to take it here, to Newark Tire and Auto with my part. They said that for them it will only take a hour in labour time. I came to pick it up and it was only $250 for all the work plus a oil change! Now my car runs as smooth as I remember. I own a BMW 740il with 249K miles on it. An internal casing broke and after considering various options with George the service owner I decided to replace the engine. As an older and complex engine, this was not going to be an easy replacement project. Im pleased to report that George and his Master mechanics did an outstanding job. Went in a couple weeks ago because my car was making weird noises when it was shifting. Spoke to Price and he said could be transmission but would do diagnostic for $40 to find out. He would call me in about an hour to let me know what was happening. I came back I after an hour and he said that the transmission fluid was brown instead of pink. He suggested to change it and see if that helped before replacing transmission. He would call me and tell when it would be ready to go. About 4 hours later Juan called to tell me car is ready to go. Not only did the manager try to swindle us out of 2000 dollars, when I chose to seek a second opinion, he was rude, belligerent and even proceeded to perform services that I had not authorized him to do, then proceeded to try and charge me for them. Updated review after some time from the visit. Been a Goodyear customer for some time, but my first time here in Newark. I appreciated that during a tire rotation they caught that I really needed two tires replaced; but I was a little disappointed at the upsell to four tires, even though it is kind of par for the course. Bonus points for the personal care, walking me to the lift to show me issues. At this point it is a solid 3.5 stars. Unfortunately, they over inflated my tires (39 psi instead of recommended 33) and in the process seem to have reset my cars low tire pressure warning, so now my car continually alerts me to a false low tire pressure when it is actually fine. Hard to give a good review when they compromise the cars built in safety features. too bad, theyre nice folks.

I would say thank to newark tire auto that I was with my family going back to south Cali, my vehicle wheel was making noise, end up repair was done at dealership Toyota Fremont, was charged over $600 front brake. Ive been having all three of my vehicles serviced here for the last seven years. When I moved to Fremont I needed to find a service shop for car maintenance and tires. When I had a set of tires that I wanted swapped onto my car, Wheel Works refused to mount tires that they didnt sell me, but George at Goodyear was willing and able to do it no problem. Since then Ive had all of my regular oil changes and brake jobs done here, and bought tires here, and had them perform service repairs for a 2011 Chrysler minivan, a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix, and a 2005 Mercedes S500. George took care of replacing a crank position sensor on the Mercedes that I couldnt get out. Ive had them perform major services like replacing the torque converter, ignition switch, and upper intake manifold on the Pontiac, and replacing oddball things like a windshield washer pump on the Chrysler van. Another thing I learned is that this is an independent Goodyear dealer, so they can get *ANY* other brand tire as well; not just Goodyear and Goodyear brands.

After getting my oil changed from a car shop in San Leandro, the next morning I was hearing grinding beneath and on the right side of my car. I didn’t want to keep driving hearing that while on my way to and from work. Luckily the Newark tire & auto service is close by my job. I stopped by after work and they were able to tell me what was wrong. I absolutely hate the way George attempts to scam people. People would go in for an oil change then he would try to say there were other problems amounting to hundreds and even thousands of dollars. If he notices you have a thick accent, have trouble speaking english or youre elderly, he will try to take advantage. I saw him try to charge an elderly mexican couple about 600 dollars for 2 tires for a small honda. They walked out quickly because they noticed his little game and just left. Ive seen him do the same thing to an old asian man who spoke broken english, and a middle aged indian woman as well. I didnt know skin tone/ethnicity/age was a factor in determining how much one should be charged. He purposely includes other service fees without providing receipts hoping you trust him because hes a mechanic. This man knows nothing on how the electrical things work on your car, he said so himself that theres things he doesnt know how to do, yet he plays it off with other customers as if he does. He also mistreats his workers when he gets tired of them, making them feel uncomfortable or insulting them in a subtle way with the intentions to make them quit so he doesnt have to pay for unemployment. That is a form of harrassment. This man is a scam artist and possibly a racist. I would advise you to not go anywhere near this shop or even think about getting anything fixed here unless you enjoy overpaying for things and would like to support and feed a scam artists family. Youre better off taking your car to a monkey with a hammer. Please do not support this business!

My friend went for error code check. They charged $150 for the error code check and then charged $1200 in repairs. The error code was for a simple pcv valve replacement. They lied about other repairs. Avoid this place at all costs!!!

Well at first I had a great experience just for being there for an oil change then I found out that they do tire rotation and they urging me to buy two new tires when I only went in for an oil change I was already aware of what I needed it got to the point where I felt as though I was not like because I didnt or couldnt afford the new new tires at the time I wont go back to that particular location so Im Im okay with them not wanting me back in because they shunned me at the end of the day so if thats the case buyer beware of the tire place because Im not a happy camper with their auto program I was thankful that they did do a tire check but I couldnt afford them so they didnt like me anymore thats what I felt going to your own Wheel by

This is the worst repair place I have been too STAY AWAY FROM GEORGE the store manger. He said I need almost 1,500 in repair to pass smog so, i agreed .When i get the Car back the check engine light came on the next day i couldnt believe it my family Has been taking cars here for years and have always had a problem of some sort here so I took itTo another repair shop before i took it back toGoodyear and they said some hoses were oldAnd cracking and needed to be replaced .I gotThe repairs done there ($250)no more engine light and car passed with flying colors .I went to talk to George Yousefian the owner about what happened and he started back peddling the whole conversation and i told him i would take him to court and he replied no problem see you there most unhonest person ive metDO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE

I had issues in my car I went to many auto repair shops to resolve the problem in my car no one could figure out the problem Some body recomnde me to Newark tire good year I went to Newark tire auto address 1160 Jarvis ave Met the owner of the place Goerge advice me to keep the car in his shop for diegnostic after 24 hours I receive a call from the manager said you can pick your car is ready I was shocked how fast they finish the problem in my car Gorege charge me only $120 dollars for changing the censer and small air hose I will recommend Newark tire and auto mechanic to all the viewers the owner of Newark tire very honest person and I wish him all the best and all his staff they ware very nice they offer me free lunch and Pepsi I love them all thank again for all the viewers

George is the most dishonest and selfish person ever.I went to George to fix a flat tire, George said the tires would need to be replaced and gave me an estimate of $750 for replacing all four tires.It felt very strange since I got brand new tires just couple months ago. He insisted I should change for safety reasons.Since I didnt get a good feeling, I said I want to show the car to some other shop and requested him to fill air in the flat tire so I could drive across the street to different shop, to which he said he will not fill the air.This was the most horrible experience ever.Iuckily had temp air pump in my car so I was able to fill air. I drove across the street to Big O tires, they took a look and said it would be completely safe to fix the flat tire. I paid them $25 and got it fixed.George is basically a liar who just cares about earning money and nothing else.Please do yourself a favor and dont ever visit this place.
