Nha Trang bun bo Hue was acceptable. The meat wasn’t tender and cutting thin & rough, I rather have the cutting about ½” thick as I had it in Saigon in 1974 which retains the texture and is soft to chew. The flavors wasn’t strong enough (4*). Com Tam bo (3*) the steam rice cooked saturated with water, when pouring fish sauce over after 10 minutes it became soggy.
Bun Rieu is big and has large cuts of golden tofu cakes and crab meatballs.. it’s amazing! No blood cubes tho…
Been going here before they moved to this location. The owner is still nice as ever and the Bun Bo Hue and Pho here tastes great. You can tell they put effort into the food and all the ingredients taste fresh. Definitely worth a try if you want some quality vietnamese food in the SGV.
Bun Bo hue is huge. Very good place for that dish. This place would be amazing in any other place outside of la, just too many great places for this dish in la and Westminster. I would recommend.
Good spot. Friendly staff. Make sure to come early if you want those delicacy treats by the front entrance, they go FAST. Only order the bun bo hue because that is what they are known for. All the meat was so tender and MELTS in your mouth with FLAVOR. Can’t go wrong. And don’t forge the iced Vietnamese coffee, washes everything down.
If you are looking for really good Bun Bo Hue, look no further go to Nha Trang. They have one of the best flavorful authentic Bun Bo Hue in the SGV. Its a mom and pop place so the menu is small and simple. All the entrees are $12 for regular and $13 for the large include noodles or rice. They have appetizers too but those would sell out.We came on the weekend and there was a wait. We waited about 15 minutes and finally got a table. Customers move in and out quickly cause the menu is simple and food comes out fast. We ordered the Bun Bo Hue. Wanted to get the springs rolls too but they were sold out. So sad. They have a passion fruit drink that has free refills. The bun bo hue is always tasty and comes in a large portion (even for the regular size).Service is good but they are pretty busy and low staff. They have a small parking lot behind or park on the street. Will be back for more.
Our favourite place for Vietnamese food in Monterey Park, family run. Their Bun Bo Hue and Bun Rieu are delicious and really huge portions. The bean sprouts and Thai basil are always fresh and clean. Both the fresh spring rolls and fried spring rolls are some of the best weve ever had. We often get take out and the portions are the most generous of any other Vietnamese restaurant weve been to in LA. There is street parking or a small lot in the back.

We finally came to this restaurant, after passing daily for years.Both my children had #12 Pho, and I had the #10 Spicy Noodle. along with the Crab Egg Roll.All three plates are super delicous. The Spicy Noodle was perfect, not too much heat.Will definate come again!

Weve always wanted to try this place for a while now. They have a very limited menu for a Vietnamese restaurant. But the thing that annoyed me was when the waitress advised us that they were out of steamed rice BEFORE 10am.

How in the world did we step into one of the best noodle shops in the area? It felt like home. I’m currently in a food coma as I write this. The owner is very sweet and immediately welcomed us in, encouraged us to order first while we waited for a table. My husband and I order their pho and bun bo hue. We also got complimentary egg rolls, which were delicious. Hands down one of the best bowls of bun bo hue I’ve had in a long time. It’s one thing to get a good meal from a restaurant but it’s another to have one where you feel like you’re in your family’s kitchen. Incredible service and a hidden gem!

Our family woke up and decided it was a great day for noodles. We quickly were seated for a large party of 8 on a busy Sunday morning. They were very accommodating to our needs and wants.We all ordered the main star of the show, bun bo hue. The flavor from this place is nice and hearty. Comparing this to their sister restaurant it is more consistent with their flavor.Props to the main chef of this place for keeping up the good work!

So glad that this place finally decided to expand and get a bigger place. Their previous location was so small that it only sat 14 people, which meant long lines outside. Theres still a line now, but not as crazy (yet). Just come early before they sell out!Must order #1 the Spicy Beef Noodles! If you dont eat pigs blood and/or pigs feet, tell your waiter when you order. They can put in an order for meat (beef) only! The flavors of the beef are just as great! A subtle kick in flavors, yet the broth is not covered with oil.And dont forget to order a cup of house special ice tea! Its free refill!

Best vietnamese noodle bowl Ive ever had! Very authentic and delicious. They have uniquely prepared shrimp spring rolls and their traditional vietnamese iced coffee is perfection. The staff was very attentive and interactive, plus extremely friendly! I will definitely come back the next time Im visiting Los Angeles. I recommend to anyone looking for tasty vietnamese cuisine.
One if my favorite places to eat. Their crab pho and beef pho are amazing. The prices are very good and the service is always excellent. My favorite here is the never 1. It is always delicious and has plenty of meat. I also recommend the crab pho and you should definitely get the house passion fruit tea.

This was our first time dining at this place. This place does not have a large selection of items, but I find that a good thing for a speciality restaurant. Havent had a chance to try all the dishes yet but the two that we did have were very authentic and tasty. The 2 dishes we got were the Bún bò hué (#1) and the bún riêu (#2). The ingredients that they use in both of these dishes are very authentic and on point, but that does not necessarily mean that anyone would enjoy it. Ive had these dishes at other Vietnamese restaurant before and although they may be good, most of the times they dont include all the necessary ingredients to do the dish justice. This is understandable if you take into consideration that some restaurants cater to the local demographic. For instance, I have often craved bún bò huê only to order it at other restaurants and find out that it is not spicy (as it should be) or it does not come with a pork hock or any cubed pork blood (which it should have), which is very disappointing. Again, I look for a certain degree of cultural culinary authenticity with my fare and find that the flavor and authenticity here is legit. Its a bit on the pricier side, but worth the value. I would suggest the regular sizes for starters as it is already a good amount of food.
This restaurant is around the block from where i lived. It is hidden in a small commercial plaza. I ordered the pho dac biet (special). The broth was really nice, full of flavor and aroma. If you like meat, there was a hefty portion. For me, the outdoor seating was well done, giving a sense of tranquility despite meters from busy Garvey Ave. It was a little oasis with good food. According to the owner, their specialty is bun bo hue. So i will be back and try that next time.

People rave about the Bun Bo Hue here but I personally dont like it. Its not spicy enough and has a strong lemongrass taste to it. My friend told me thats how its suppose to taste but I beg to differ lol. They give you a sauce on the side to make it spicier but to me, it just makes it more lemongrassy lol..I come here for the Pho Ga (Chicken)! Its so good! The broth is very light and they give you plenty of chicken! Get the House Special Ice Tea! Its very refreshing and they give you free refills!! I will be back to try their Bun Rieu... Food is delicious but the service is terrible even for an Asian restaurant where the servers barely speak English. You have to ask for everything, they literally just serve you your food and drink. Today I had to ask for water again after I got my food. Love the food but hate the service. If you can just get it to go and enjoy your meal at home.

Very good restaurant and was told by a friend that this is authentic Vietnamese food. I had the PHO and he had some other dish. Service was very good and the food did not disappoint. Check the hours before you do they do close fairly early in the evening
No service. The server can not wait us to finish reading the menu even there is only one table. We ordered hot water. Another guy looks like bossgive us cold water. We tried to stop him but he just walk away. He didnt even speak any one word to response our speaking until he tells they dont accept AMEX after we waited for long time.
Like most of the Asian restaurants. They suffer from lack of consistency. This place is near my work, so we ate there frequently. I will said 60-70% of the time the soup is too diluted.

2023-11-21 20:18:46Great food, food came out fast, food is delicious.Service isnt fluent in English, however is polite, pay at the desk in front as opposed to asking for the check, not a large space. Find street parking, their parking lot is small.I highly recommend the shrimp spring rolls and lemongrass beef vermicelli. Shrimp spring rolls are the best Ive had with/without the sauce and the vermicelli sauce is perfect.

2023-03-03 21:42:44Best Bun Bo Hue in town!!! Bun Bo Hue is the recommended bowl of noodle soup on the menu. You can order a small or large bowl. I personally like to order the large bowl but substitute the bun noodle with pho noodle. I highly recommend you try it. Just order Pho Bo Hue instead of Bun Bo Hue. The pho noodle offers a chewy texture which I like. I decline the cooked pork blood cubes which it comes with and opt for an extra pig knuckle instead. Dont forget to ask for the complimentary egg roll. They also have one of best shrimp egg rolls in town!!! The Bun Bo Hue soup is just plain delicious with authentic Vietnamese flavor. Be sure to add the veggies (thin cut lettuce, cabbage, bean sprout and spear mint) and let them soak in the hot soup. Squeeze some lemon into the bowl and enjoy a delicious bowl of sliced beef, pig knckles and pho noodle soup. Perfect for the blizzard cold weather thats been blanketing SoCal. The restaurant is cozy with seating inside and patio seating outside. Parking is limited inside the plaza so street parking is recommended. Restaurant closes at 6pm on weekdays and 8pm on weekends. The owner and staff are friendly and nice. This is one of my favorite restaurants.

If you order more than 1 dish, you would have no idea what to do when you open that bag, there was NO label, NO mark, they separated all ingredients into boxes and you will have NO idea which goes into which dish UNLESS you are their employee who learned what each dish has. Its an absolute nightmare when we ordered several dishes and they just literally put different ingredients into their own bags, vegies, meat, noodle, rolls...!! We are customers, not your puzzle solvers, how exactly do you expect us to figure out which goes to which?? We dont know your dish! We ordered to eat, not wrestling with brain to figure out what goes where or what dish gets what, did you think about that??? Some Geniuses working at your restaurant, huh. LABEL them or put each dish into their own bag, SIMPLE!! you people are amazing... amazingly disappointing! This was a big order too, wow, if you dont care about big ones I wonder how you are running the business :/

The beef was very tender and was placed into the soup at the right temperature so that it did not over cook the meat.Overall I had a very good lunch here and Id come again.

2023-07-28 05:37:51My favorite, my family’s favorite, and my friends favorite for Bun Bo Hue, my friend from Boston even cleans the bowl (you do not have to). The owner and staff are super attentive, humble, and friendly. If I could give more stars than 5 I would. Their spring rolls are very good too, and you have to get their refillable house tea. It is refreshing to have with their BBH since they contrast each other. Their bun rieu is pretty good as well, but that bun bo is their decades long labor of love and if you’ve never had it you’re missing out. Definitely one of my top vietnamese places.

2023-05-16 17:24:04Great little restaurant with very good and authentic Vietnamese food. The ambiance was pleasant, everything looked clean and orderly and staff members were especially friendly. We had the bun Bo hue, bun rieu, egg rolls, and 2 types of spring roll. Everything was delicious. Definitely on our list of favorite restaurants. They definitely did not disappoint..even restrooms were kept up nicely.

2021-07-11 00:26:37Bun bo hue is packed with meat and flavor. The pork blood felt overly soft and juicy in my mouth, but my sister said she liked it that way so I guess its personal preference. Portions are huge. I was only able to finish 2/3 of my food and took the rest to-go.
