I normally dont go in for a large chain restaurants, but on occasion a medium size chain that has a great formula and consistent food is something I will indulge in. This was good! They had their gyros, and wraps down pat, the rice was good, the place was very clean, and the staff was just a little nicer than usual. Actually much nicer than usual. Very noticeable.I recommend this place if youre in Castro valley and you like anything greek!

I always get the beef/lamb plate which has more meat, comes with a side Greek salad & I opt for the French fries. I can only eat half & take out the other half to go. Do get the frozen Greek yogurt with baklava & honey, perfect way to end the meal!

Here is the way Gyro Plate (Beef, lamb )Gyro looks like. High price is expected because the area is beautiful. The plate was decorated nicely but after eating it, i was not impressed. It might be healthy, but the taste is average. And, i do not know if the food supposed to be hot or cold. It was slightly warm. That might be the reason why it was not as tasty as it could be. There will be nothing to remember about their food the next day. It is very nice inside the restaurant and employees are very helpful. I think this restaurant is a little bit overrated. I never tip until i finished eating the food and sit for awhile in the restaurants environment to see if i really like it.

Like everywhere else they are raising price and reducing potion. Nick the Fries used be a huge potion and we used to love it but no more. Unremarkable Pita sandwich costing $15 without any side fries or anything is laughable. We’ll never come back.

After months of anticipation Nick the Greek CV is open yay!! We got there and line was almost going out the door. The service was excellent and super fast! We dont eat cheese and requested no feta on our dishes and this was respected. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious! Bathrooms super clean and sanitizer stands throughout the restaurant. Staff was so friendly and we left with full bellies smiles 😃 since Google wont let me add images captions we had the Prasini salad which depth of flavor cant be seen in photos, lemon, dill, scallion and crispy romaine, also the Falafel pita which was very flavor-filled, the Veggie pita was our favorite with meaty portabello mushrooms and perfectly grilled zucchini. And lastly the greek fries with no feta but added spicy yogurt sauce. All highly recommended!

Thought Id support a local business so came here for dinner last night. Glad I did food was really good! I ordered the chicken Gyro and my son ordered the chicken bowl he loved it, actually he liked it so much that he brought it up during breakfast 😄 girl working the register was helpful wasnt sure what to get since it was my first time here. Her recommendations hit the spot!

Just ordered a gyro bowl which I have been ordering for the last year or so. The quality at Castro valley has gone down. My salad was full of skin/fat pieces. I want chicken in my salad, not fat.

This place is in my rotation of take-out food I order from. All of the fries are good, thin cut and seasoned well. I love the gyro bowls, perfect portion and you can taste the freshness in the food. Baklava is very good too.

Just left Nick the Greek in Castro Valley. One order was to include a drink and Greek fries. Sorry to report the fries were cold and no seasoning. Our Pitas were also dry. Please notify the manager as we really have enjoyed the experience the last three times.

The food here is consistently yummy. My friend and I get the chicken gyro bowls every time were together. They have some outdoor seating which feels nice even tho its right next to the parking lot. Lots of spaces but often busy so parking can take a min.

Nick the Greek is a chain, but they do a very good job. If you like a gyro you most likely will enjoy it. If you have never had Greek food, give it a whirl. Again, for a chain the have a handful of ways to have your food, and we have yet to be disappointed. Generally speaking, the staff is good also. The shopping center is quaint, with a good handful of restaurants also.

I took my son here today to celebrate his new job. This was our first time. It was expensive. The staff is friendly and professional. My son like the falafel and salad. I got the Greek yogurt with honey, and I’m still enjoying it now as a late night fix. We will be returning soon.

First timer. It was great. I got a lamb gyro. Little pricey but very tasty and lots of meat. Fries were an unusual add but it kind of works. Ive been eating gyros for years. This is a really good find, going to try the falafel next. The place is a little sterile, not a romantic date night place, but the gyro was excellent.

All the workers were friendly and looked happy. The manager was doing her job and had a smile. The inside of the restaurant looked clean and well put together, along with the bathroom! The amount of food was totally worth the price and it was well seasoned!

Nick the Greek. Been here at least 15 times. Now the desserts are inexpensive and okay tasting, but it’s all about the main menu. Once I bought a chicken skewer combo and it was not fully cooked! I ate everything else except the the most expensive part (chicken). Was totally grossed out by that. Another time I bought falafels. It was not fully deep fried. If I picked them up they would fall apart. You can literally still taste the batter. I re deep fried them at home. Their food is always cold. 0/10 main menu… 7/10 desserts. The employees are great.

I have to say I’ve been eating here sometimes over 5 times a week for that last few months but that stops today. I ordered online and went in to pick up my food and didn’t realize until I got home that the fries were gummy/under cooked. I usually would not return them but they were basically inedible. When I tried to exchange them a woman that looks like maybe the manager as I’ve never seen her there before proceeded to question me and feel through the French fries as if I was lying and then told the cook to make them well done. I didn’t ask for well done just that they were cooked. I feel this was condescending especially since when I opened them the fries were now unsalted and OVERCOOKED aka hard as a rock. Seems small but how you treat your customers matters. Will not return.

Really like thier fries, though it can get a tad bit pricey if you order too much. If youre looking for a more modest portion and be a little economical, try the kids plate. You get a choice of meat, pita, and fries/rice. Very good. 4.5/5

Recvd email from NTF for $2 off for my next gyro, so I used it for my online order for pick up (^_^) Beef & Lamb Gryo Pita tasty & fulfilling. Cashier was with a patron but another employee saw me looking at pick up orders and kindly asked me if I had a pick up order, which I appreciated. Easy & lots of parking in the Casto Village Shopping Center.

Nicks opened a few weeks ago here in Castro Valley and already have been back for lunch a few times each week. Theyre still working out the kinks but service has been very good and the food has been quite tasty although Ive forgotten to take any pictures before digging in.Update 4/5/22. This is the WORST restaurant That I have ever eaten. If I could give 0 starts I would.We paid $10, for the sandwich. We asked for fries on the side. It came with 3 pinky size pieces. THREE. Ten dollars for three pieces of fries. We went back and everyone person that was working were very rude. The manager was Rudest. He was saying “Bye and leave”. I am going to laugh the day he gets fired from his job. Then I will say bye to him.

It’s ok. It’s pretty expensive for what it is. Tastes pretty ok. The gyro meat is super salty, the chicken kabob is small and dry. The Greek salad is good. Not a fan of french fries in a gyro. Wish we had a Troy or independent Greek restaurant instead. It’s “Greek” expensive fast food.

They just opened their Castro valley location in the Castro village shopping center. We enjoyed it We had the pork belly gyros, they were flavorful and not fatty like pork belly can be. We enjoyed it and will consider it when we are looking for a place to eat in Castro valley.

Not authentic given they put french fries in the Gyro but its pretty darn good. Technically, potatoes and tomatoes for that matter are from the Americas.Im still looking to replace my Gyro place that closed that I would have given 5 stars but this one is nearby and pleases my taste buds.First is having the right meat and then its tzatziki sauce. The other ingredients can vary. Lettuce and onion with the Asian influence of onions and the American influence of tomatoes (and potatoes). In this regard, potatoes fit as an influence from the same region as tomatoes for more traditional builds.The thing that does keep me looking, is a little on the tzatziki sauce and some on the side salad which missed the mark.Overall, Ill be visiting many times in the future.

So darn happy that I get to get my gyro fix right here in Castro Valley! Nick the Greek is now one of my go-to dinner spots here in town, and they just opened. Amazing beef/lamb gyros, melt in your mouth loukomadis (I know I spelled that wrong!), fantastic baklava, and great service. Also one of the few dinner joints in town open until 10 pm! Yes! I hope they stick around a while!

Its part of a franchise chain of American-Greek style fast food, and is something different than the regular fast food thats available around town. This location is new, and they are figuring it out at this point, so things should smooth out pretty soon I would expect.

Its good that the store is clean and theres a glass window, so you can see the outside clearly. The bowl menu was salty to my taste, but it was a menu that many people bought and ate. Personally, the chicken gyro pita was delicious. There is also a toilet inside, which was generally satisfactory. Because of its popularity, people line up to enter.
