Loved their food!! My wife and I went there. We heard good reviews about this place from our friends and they fulfilled our expectations!!! The fish tasted good and smelled great!! We will definitely return to Nikka for more exciting dishes!!!

No frills diner and market serving a wide variety of seafood. Average prices, though honestly not bad at all for fresh seafood. Friendly service.I had something they called jambalaya. It wasnt actually jambalaya but whatever it was it was delicious. Fresh fish. Shrimp. Clams. Shrimp. Sausage. Even the veggies are fresh. Great spices, everything is plentiful, and it comes in a huge bowl thats a challenge to finish.Is this my new favorite restaurant? Maybe.

Consistently amazing in both food and service. Fish is always top notch, my personal favorite is the salmon tacos. The building’s on the smaller side, so I wouldn’t recommend bringing huge groups. Pay-at-the-counter too!

Great little seafood restaurant and market. Everything is very good. It has a small fresh fish counter. Love the Cabo tacos and the fried shrimp. I have heard the ciopinno is excellent. They offer to go and have specials based on what is fresh. It is located in the Camino Real marketplace so parking is easy. They are part of the same owners of Sushi Teri and Nikka Ramen. Inside is cozy with a couple of booths and some tables. There is patio seating also.

What a little gem this place is! We had the clam chowder, ramen (24-hour haddock broth!) and the stuffed parillo peppers with shrimp. Three such different dishes, and all were outstanding! Yes, its in a strip mall, but the food is worthy of the fanciest of seaside locations. I cant wait to go back - there are at least six more menu items I want to try!

Really good food! I loved the seafood pasta. Pasta was not overcooked and the shrimp, mussels, clams, and fish complimented the pasta perfectly. The staff is very nice and happy to give recommendations. I flew in from Arizona just to have lunch here and I was not disappointed. Nice outdoor eating area to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Great little restaurant, in this shopping center. Wish I had pics, my devices were battery dead. I loved it. Very small space, cute & cozy inside, but plenty outdoor seating, I sat by the fire, outdoors, it was very spacious and relaxing. Not too busy on a Saturday, so great escape meal, rejuvenating after my long commute from LA.We had Halibut and Salmon, both absolutely delicious. No complaints. Staff was sweet and engaging. Smells fishy and enticing by the ordering counter, so if u don’t like fish smells or train-like seating, sit outside.We also had couple of their wines, also just hitting the spot right, and the waiter was all smiles and great company.I am definitely coming back next time I am in town 💯❤️👌🙏👀

No nonsense, order-at-the-counter seafood shop selling fresh seafood and various entrees. Surprisingly quick service (especially considering I ordered a paella) and hearty, reasonably good value food. Though its probably mainly a takeout joint, there are plenty of tables to make it a sit-down meal. One annoying thing was that there was no menu, entrees were just listed on different surfaces in the store and storefront. Definitely worth a stop if youre in the area and looking to have soul food.Bonus points: Their buttered and pan fried baguette is really good with a soup or saucy dish -- I didnt think I wanted it with my paella, but I didnt regret having it.

This is a great seafood restaurant. A market counter is usually a good sign and the people working in the kitchen make the products sing. Service was warm and welcoming. Macadamia Halibut burger with pickled ginger made total sense, familiar with a twist and so damm delicious. Tomato and bun also matched quality of fish. You get what you pay for. A real gem.

I am sad to post this negative review as Nikka Fish Market used to be one of my favorite restaurants in all of Santa Barbara. The food is still good, but unfortunately they dont offer basic respect to their customers by wearing a mask during a deadly pandemic. Health and safety is something a restaurant should care about.

Excellent food. Everything was delicious, fresh and hot. You order at counter, pay, then food & drinks come to you. It helps to know what you want if you’re in a pinch for time, not our situation while on vacation. Ordered 1/2 dozen of raw oysters on half shell, they were delicious. Tasted like Hama hama’s for sure, the distinct mellon finish and they were very fresh.We had calamari as an appetizer, personally I’m not a fan of the giant rings & prefer the smaller bodied squid, which are more tender & not stringy. Aside from that, the shrimp salad my wife ordered was excellent, my ahi Tuna sandwich was excellent and the fish and chips.... well, how can you mess that up. I’d go back, the cioppino looked amazing & I want to try it.

Highly highly recommended! Love this place! We always eat here at least once whenever were in town. Lots of fresh healthy and tasty options. (But they need to bring back the miso salmon!!)My go-to is the charbroiled halibut with a side of teryaki sauce, brown rice, fresh steam veggies -- all consistently cooked perfectly -- never had a problem. The side of zucchini is always delicious, but the portion is a bit small for the price, so if money is an issue, keep this in mind.

Excellent seafood and a great fish market. I get sushi-grade ahi and albacore here almost monthly to make homemade sushi and it always exceeds expectations. The reviewer who said the fish tasted frozen is clearly too conceded to see the beautiful display of fresh fish in the front. Highly recommended!

I eat here once every couple of weeks and love it every time. The food is great, staff are helpful and friendly, and I love that they have the small crunchy ice for my soda. I usually get the Pasilla Pepper with Salmon, but I have liked all of the food I have eaten here.

My husband ordered the charbroiled Halibut. It was so over done and dry, taste like rubber. We know halibut is more firmer fish, and have many time before. This is seriously over cooked. So dry. After we told tge waiter about. They didnt do anything. No apology, no refund, or remake. I guess they just dont care since this place is cafe style, pay first. It just a very disappointing experience. We have been Nikka before, food was great. And we were pretty happy. This overly cooked halibut this time might just an accident in the kitchen. However, i think they should not just sit on their merit.

Had the Spicy Tuna Burger (on 1/13/16) and it tasted great and was great until about an hour or so later when I started having symptoms for scombroid fish poisoning/Histamine Toxicity - arms and face went crazy red (my co-workers were scared for me), fever, headache, gastric distress. Its a shame because it seemed like a nice place, but I dont want to risk that again.

A small Cafe and fish market in a very large strip mall. Order at the counter register, your food will be brought to your table. It has indoor and outdoor seating. The menu written on two walls (plus specials on smaller blackboards) is extensive. The House Sauce is ranch dressing with added cilantro. Service borders on hostile. Fountain soda is $1.85 for 12 oz paper cup, no refill. Fries are frozen First Street brand served without seasoning.

Its one of the rare Asian markets in Santa Barbara/Goleta. Items are pretty pricey here compared to a Japanese market in LA. Example: soba sauce is normally $3, they have it for $4.15 here. If you are in need of Japanese spices or just Asian in general, this is the place.
