This is a fantastic sushi restaurant. The rolls are so big! We got the flaming dragon, lemon lover, and mango sushi rolls. My son got the black ninja and five star. I love that they are not over breaded/fried and I really enjoyed the freshness and flavor of the fish. The salmon was absolutely perfect and their wasabi was really good. I wish I took pictures before we ate our rolls but I dont usually do reviews... However, after having some I realized that I had to do a review for this. I usually have to order two rolls for myself but found that they were so big I couldnt even finish them. You will definitely be coming back. The price that was fear in the staff are incredible and the food is so delicious. Also I read some of the other reviews, and did not have a problem that others did too much sauce. Ours were seasoned perfectly and the sauce was delicious. We will definitely be back soon!!!

I had dinner here the other night, and the food is fresh and very satisfying. Rolls are amply sized and scrumptious. I had the rainbow roll along with ono, saba, and hamachi nigiri. The nigiri pieces were fresh and mouth watering. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food. Friendly service and a charming interior round out the experience.

Seated quickly...3 chefs, rolls came quick. The problem is the rolls are covered in sauce...too much sauce takes away from fish flavor. A few of the bites were fishy and the meat needs to be colder..room temp fish wont cut it. First time here, may try again...also spicy tuna is minced beyond belief. Chunky tuna is always better.

Nice selection of outstanding sushi. I ordered the Rainbow Roll and another sushi roll that combined several types of fresh fish. The atmosphere isnt too casual or too spendy, its just right. While there, I couldnt help but notice a variety of flamed rolls being served to other patrons. Will have to try those myself, next time I drop in.

Amazing!!!! My favorite is the Philly and my husband doesnt like sushi BUT he loved the teriyaki chicken roll with the soy paper instead of seaweed. And he loves the pot stickers so we both win! The rolls are huge! One will fill you up

This place used to be better. The chefs used to be interactive and creative to the customer needs. The chef on 6/24/19 was a huge disappointment and lacks imagination. Sushi chefs are supposed to be creative. Not this guy. We asked for a roll with no rice or the fake crab mix, due to dietary restrictions. This guys answer was I dont know, ask the waitress. Basically, he didnt want to engage with the customer or think about the customer need/request. That is a far cry from how this restaurant used to run. It used to have creative chefs who enjoyed serving and engaging with customers. We will be looking for a new Sushi place.

Some of the best sushi I have ever had pricing for rolls is mainly between 10-15 dollars. The rolls are bigger than rolls I have gotten at most other sushi restaurants. The atmosphere inside is rather laid back and relaxing as well. All in all a great place to enjoy sushi and chat with friends and family.

I have been to Ninja at least 10 times. Ive never had outstanding service but never terrible until now. I called in an order and was on hold for 25 minutes(clearly forgotten) after 10 minutes I started driving there. I waited at the front of house for about 7 minutes before I was acknowledged. My order was finally taken and I was told 20 minutes. I ran an errand and was back in 23 minutes. I was then told it would be just five more minutes. The woman who helped me offered an apology and made sure I knew it wasnt her fault. That was it. My rolls were not great either. I could not believe this experience. Customer service means nothing here apparently.

The flavor of our rolls was great. They do not have as many choices as most sushi restaurants have but for what they have it is good. You cannot see the TVs from the back room so that kinda sucks. I would go there again.

Went to Ninja Sushi for my daughters 13th birthday party. Nice atmosphere. Cool location near downtown Auburn so you can take a stroll through town after you eat. Service was excellent and food was very good. Roll selection is impressive. Topped it off with mochi and an amazing deep fried ice cream complete with a candle. Dont forget to spin the wheel of fortune on your birthday. Nice touch! My son now wants to go first his birthday. Thanks Ninja!

One of our favorite romps in Auburn. Good food and great friendly people! They always treat their regulars to free saki =) Very aware of food sensitivities and eager to make accommodations. Trust the chefs choice for a cheap lunch with 2 rolls of surprise by the sushi chef and 3 pieces of nigiri.Thai Chicken from the kitchen is hot, but great flavor.Staff is always nice, and smiling, even had the wait staff insist a rush order to the chef when they found out my order came with wasabi when i asked for it to not be but were super busy. We were at Ninja Sushi on a Monday night. The service was exceptionally quick. The food was delicious and the presentation beautiful. There are so many fabulous rolls to choose from that Im looking forward to many trips to explore them all. We just moved into the Auburn area, and this is the first sushi place that tastes on par with Zakuro in Lincoln (its the third sushi place weve tried).Excellent! And the staff was very friendly and even remembered my husband, though hed only been there once before.

Terrible service! Probably one of the worst Ive encountered in a while. The food was sitting on the counter for 10-15 min. The waitress did not serve the food immediately when It was done. Talking to other waiters and on her phone at some points. There werent many people about 5 small groups. Did not tell the specials. Did not bring out water when asked for twice. Also, the order of sushi consisted of 3 different types and two ended up being the same roll. It was very soggy for sushi!!! Tasted of mayonnaise. The crab in it was fake which was extremely gross. Low quality shrimp & tuna, avocado was browned. I had food poisoning for a couple days after this meal. I will never eat here again.

I used to frequent this place in 2008 to 2010. I loved it. I loved a roll called Smokehouse and would even call it in to go all the time. It was sooo good. I decided to call it in as I was in the area. I was told 20 minutes. Ok. I waited. I walked in, picked it up to go and anxiously took the first piece. Disappointed! I could tell at first sight. Soggy, loosely rolled, bigger around than I recalled... appeared to have sat maybe 10 min before I came promptly in 20 minutes. Not sure but it was not the Smokehouse I loved. Bummed.

The food here was amazing, but the service couldve been much better. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated with an empty bar right in front of us, and the wait staff were in no rush whatsoever even though they were busy. At one point while waiting to be seated a waitress asked us how many were in our group (only 2) then turned around and acted like we werent there instead of seating us or even telling us itll be a minute. Once we were finally seated at a table (after a couple who came in after us) I noticed that the waitress had not cleaned it very well and failed to put the normal fixings (soy sauce, Sriracha, etc.) out on our table. It took forever to order just a few rolls because they just were not rushing the way they shouldve been. I work in a sushi restaurant so I can differentiate between busy workers and lazy workers... These guys were lazy.It is also noteworthy that the sushi itself was delicious, yet so overstuffed that it fell apart and was extremely messy.

Not even worth one star. This place is a disgrace to Japanese cuisine. Period. Full-Stop. Staff is fine; food is disgusting. Ive been eating Japanese food, Sashimi & Sushi since 1973 where I began in Boston. Have primarily lived in Boston, New York City & San Francisco, so yes, I know this cuisine. I certainly didnt expect this to come close to the excellent restaurants Ive been fortunate to frequent, but if McDonalds is a 2 to what a good burger is, this is a -10 to what good Japanese food is. Seaweed salad was dull. Fried soft shell crab was absolutely gross. Think of good tempura and that was the opposite of what comes to your mind, soggy and fishy. Sushi was low grade. The sushi rice was soggy and used to excess. Ill just stop here and take no delight in trashing any establishment, but this should be a wake up call for the owner. Honestly, the only sushi restaurant that is good in the entire area is Kaido in Grass Valley. For superior sushi/sashimi, the to-go place is Sushi In The Raw in Nevada City. Ive tried many in the Placer County area and frankly, Id rather go to jack in the box.

I ordered the CRUNCHY TORCH ROLL. It was the best Ive ever tasted. I recommend this place It is now and for ever the only place we will go for Sushi.
