I’ve been here many times and missed eating here immensely!They check your temperature upon arrival and get your name and number in case of a Covid exposure which is so considerate and greatly appreciated.We started with some tea because it was chilly and we left our sweaters at home. We ordered the tempura combo, which comes with vegetables and 2 shrimps, and the stuffed jalapeños. Both were delicious! We almost always get the tempura combo but it was our first time trying the jalapeños and they did not disappoint! They were meaty and cheesy! Our server did say they can be spicier or more mild on some days, so be aware that you might now be getting the spicy or mild jalapeños you’re hoping for. I enjoy mine either way, thank goodness.Our stars of the night were the Snow Mountain and the Golden State Warrior.I didn’t realize there was macadamia nuts in the Snow Mountain and it was such a nice surprise! It has a lot of fish on top and everything comes together so perfectly!The Golden State Warrior has mango in it and I believe some jalapeño, I only had a couple bites of this one but it was so tasty!!I highly recommend this restaurant, the staff is always friendly and attentive. The food never disappoints and the food is rightfully priced.

Sushi was good. The place didnt turn on AC until near end of the meal. You could hear all surrounding tables completing it was hot inside. Service after taking the order then delivering the ordered meal didnt come back until three key had the tab in hand.Wont return based on service and temperate inside

The staff was very nice I was getting some food to go. One of the rolls I ordered had eel in it and was fried. Well the eel was a very fridged temperature not soft at all. Ive never had a crunchy roll like that so cold before. I cant imagine its supposed to be that cold of a temperature. The taste was good but would have been better had they not made it so cold. I usually like this place but I was greatly disappointed this time. 3 years later Update: Here again much better this time food was hot and flavorful.

I had one of the special rolls and the unagi nigiri (I wanted saba, but they were out). The pieces of eel were big on the nigiri, but it felt like they were skimping on the fish in the roll (and there was too much avocado muting out the flavor of the other ingredients). Overall I was disappointed for the price I paid. Staff was nice and service was quick, though.

We had a lovely graduation celebration at Ninja Sushi this evening and it was excellent. We ordered appetizers like egg rolls, tempura, and calamari. For dinner, several guests had the dinner boxes. Several people ordered from the roll options. My husband had the seafood spicy ramen soup, and I had teriyaki chicken. Our two meals came with salad and mine also came with miso soup. Each meal was not just overwhelming large, but also very delicious. Most everyone had to take home the leftovers. The restaurant decor isnt much to write home about, but the restaurant was clean. The restrooms were clean, as well. Prices were reasonable considering the size of the portions and fresh ingredients. If youre in the mood for sushi and other Japanese dishes, we encourage you to try Ninja Sushi in Gilroy.

This is an amazing place to sit and be served, pick up or take out your sushi. The atmosphere is fun and lively and the servers are adorable and super helpful.Large TV monitors 70 sports and the bar is equipped with whatever you want to drink.. well,... Close. 😀 The choices of sushi is incredible. Loved the Golden State Warriors roll. If youre in Gilroy, you should certainly stop by.

It used to be a decent place, ordered 2 rolls (Not fired). Both came warm rice, and were dryMiso soup came out in a dirty bowl. The waitress looked at me like funny when I asked for plates and a soy sauce tray. FYI the tempura isnt tempura it is beer battered veggies.

I have been going her for years. The owners have always been nice but not so great to employees which is why they have a major overturn when it comes to wait staff. The constant change in employees means the new staff never know what is going on and are not trained at all. Tonight, I placed a phone order for myself and my kids. Same order we always get. They have my phone number saved and I’m assuming previous order history so it is weird that tonight they made so many mistakes. I would say I used to enjoy ninja sushi until I learned about how the owners treat their employees AND until I spent my own hard earned money for food I never received. When I called back to ask why the food was wrong. The 16 year old employee laughed it off and was just like “oh well.” Despite me paying a tremendous amount for the wrong items. It is seriously embarrassing for this establishment and makes me not want to return.

3 Stars is my personal taste this place is very popular the sushis pretty decent its not fan-freaking-tastic. Service was friendly and professional, the server did forget my saki I ordered after Appetizer but she remembered rather late and comped it. good job. I wish I could give 4 stars but there are just too many tiers between decent and excellent sushi. If you prefer slightly better quality food and a more traditional ambiance try 10 Japan near the Dollar Tree, But it is hard to go wrong here.

This place is a hit and miss, more of miss. We come here because Gilroys sushi scene is not that good and this one is one of the better ones. Quality here has gone downhill quick though. Last nights chirashi was sad, rice was packed like a brick with the tuna being mostly grizzle, my son had to spit it out. The rest was thinly sliced, tough and looked like it was just tossed on the rice. This has been case the last few times... guess well have to drive a little north now for better sushi (CreAsian in MH is great).The service is fine, but we regularly have to remind them to bring napkins/silverware and our drinks

Was moderately busy on a Monday night, but we were seated right away. Servers seemed a little understaffed, but they seemed to do well for the situation. Our server had decent feedback about our order. Food quality was good but the Calamari rings were a bit stringy, possibly a little over cooked. $56.xx for 2 rolls, calamari rings and edamame. Would eat there again.Edit:Visited again around 7:30pm on a Saturday night. Wasnt too busy which was nice. Server was friendly. Food and drinks came relatively quick. The ghost sauce they make in house with fresh peppers is delicious and has a great kick to it. Highly recommend the ghost roll if you like it hot 🔥

Food is mediocre at best. Ginger appears to be moldy, not sure why black spots are all over it. Waited over 25 minutes after order was taken for food to arrive. Spider roll looked like an actual spider attempted to make the sushi. Tekka maki was abhorrent, stiff as a board and tuna was a sliver of black fish. Hamachi seemed fresh so add a star. Server was friendly, however the establishment she is working for needs a complete overhaul. Do not recommend unless you wholeheartedly don’t care about quality.

Anywhere else, like in San Jose or something, this would just be a 3 star average Sushi place. However, out here Im Gilroy, they are by far the best Sushi place. They are the only Sushi place in Gilroy that I feel that has gotten at least the rice correctly.The staff could be a little nicer. No greetings and no smiles. I know my order was a take out order, but I still tipped 20 percent.. so at least give me a proper hello please? Lol

Firstly, the service here is always excellent. Friendly, humorous and attentive staff really makes a dining experience memorable.This is one of our regular haunts these days, simply due to the fact that the food is consistently good and fresh. Most of the sushi rolls are pretty decadent, but they are still really delicious. There is a really extensive menu covering most tastes and a great bar to pass the time at whilst you wait - there is definitely a list for a table on busy nights! Be prepared to wait up to 45 minutes on fridays at dinner time!

Boyfriend and I went up to Gilroy a couple weekends ago for the Renaissance Faire at Casa De Fruta. We both like sushi, and especially love it on special occasions, so we came here! Both of us enjoyed it! The spicy tuna bowl is really good, and the heat does NOT play around! For a first time experience I must say Im truly impressed, not only is their menu off the hook with some mindblowingly flavorful entrees, but some of the rolls will literally have your jaw drop when you see how delicious and HUGE some of the rolls are. I had the volcano and zoom zoom, and the zoom zoom was massive! My brother and sister in law both had the Kims special, and even their rolls were massive to the point where the one roll filled them up. Aside from the food being mouthwatering and leaving you wanting more, the service is phenomenal!! Our server, Monica did tremendous providing us with great customer service and checking on us frequently and making sure everything was perfect. She even brought a fresh complimentary miso soup for my nephew due to accidentally forgetting to bring him a soon for the first bowl of soup. She was truly fantastic and made us feel very welcome and at home. I highly recommend going to this place!

Gilroy does not have many sushi places but we really enjoy coming here. We previously lived in San Jose where sushi was basically everywhere. The service is great and they have a large menu. Another benefit is having the full bar since Gilroy does not have many places that are fun to have dinner and drinks. We used to come here 1 time a week, but with busy lives... sad we cant make it here more often!Sadly they are closed on Sundays, something to keep in mind

Service was great! Udon was good. However, the bento dinner set I had was one of the worst ones Ive had in a while, and Im not even that picky! The rice wasnt Japanese type rice. The chicken teriyaki was dry and chewy. California roll was also made of non-Japanese type grain rice. Im assuming the sushi also wasnt made with Japanese rice... You can really tell a lot about a Japanese restaurant based on the rice they use! Maybe they just ran out of the better rice when I went there given the high rating??

My husband and I are huge sushi fans, weve been to many places, including in Japan, and even sushi restaurants in the Tsukiji Market area. Since we moved to Gilroy, weve discovered one place (TEN JAPAN) that satisfies us quite well because it is a combination of authentic sushi and fusion. You can choose to have more traditional pieces or some fusion ones. The only reason we strayed to this place today is because Ten Japan is renovating, and has been closed for a little while... And were craving sushi and couldnt wait anymore. We shouldve waited... This new place was very disappointing...The people at Ninja Sushi are very friendly, so I gave them a star for that. But!1) the ambiance is lacking: televisions with sports channels, and country music playing. Youd think youre at Chilis! Its not that its bad; its just that the ambiance takes away from the experience.2) the rolls are swimming in sauce. Literally. There were hardly any rolls without sauce. Stay away from the Orange Blossom and Cherry Blossom! The pieces were so saucy that the rice wasnt even sticking together. I even used my chopsticks to try to scrape sauce off (so very rude, I know, but I was desperate to taste fish and not sauce) and even so the rice had soaked up the sauce.3) sushi pieces had generous portions of fish on them, but it made them hard to chew. It was like you were putting a steak of fish in your mouth.Conclusion:Our craving was nowhere near satisfied.Please open again soon, Ten Japan!!

The food was really good it was made fresh it look good on the plate it was a little pricey for the area the service was mediocre they had one waitress for the whole place obviously she was overworked and running around lost trying to do everything by herself if youre going to charge that much for food you need to make sure that youre properly staffed I still gave her a big tip almost 50% thats just how I feel about this the job that they have to do everything was very clean very neat they did have TVs in with for the most part of those comfortable I think youll enjoy the food very much
