Weve been here several times! The food and service is very good! Weve had the Hawaiian short ribs, Shaka chicken, Ahi shoyu poke bowl, Kalua pig & cabbage, taro chips, malasadas, banana macadamia pancake.If you like desserts, try the Guava cake, its really ono!When we went, there was live Hawaiian music with JD and Ray who we know. Another Sunday Rick was playing who we also know and theyre all great guys!

This place has a very good overall vibe with live music and relaxing atmosphere - like in Hawaii. The food is tasty. We missed the giant volcano fries that another table got (we ended up with a smaller one with less exciting topping but it is not bad). I like chicken katsu. The best dish in my opinion though is the pineapple upside down cake with coffee ice cream! Slightly pricey place so you can keep it for special occasions or just when you miss Hawaiian vibe.

My wife and I decided to go here after reading the reviews. Glad we did. We were seated rather fast. The whole vibe of the place is nothing youd expect to be in. Didnt feel like we were in San Francisco, yet felt like we were in somewhere tropical. Food was awesome as well. I had the Poké, and my wife had the chicken katsu. Both dishes were amazing. Our waitress was this sweet older woman who was able to accommodate our needs.

What a fantastic meal. From the ambiance of live hawaiin music to great food and strong drinks.. it all was great. Our server and staff were awesome. Had lots of appetizers and a few entrees to share plus multiple desserts to try. Everything was good. Highly recommend trying this restaurant!

Great plate lunches with a Bay Area twist. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, the back patio is a great place to catch a sporting event. This a great place to bring the family. There is live music inside and the food is great. The family favorites are the Shaka chicken, skirt steak and the short ribs.

My husband and I love Hawaiian food. So we decided to come here for the first time. I have to say it meant our expectation. The service was excellent! They were very accommodating and friendly. My husband ordered the Shaka Chicken with a mai tai. I ordered the Teriyaki chicken with a virgin piña colada. Both entrees and drinks were delicious! We will for sure be coming back soon.

Been wanting to check this place out for a while, since I was in the area, finally got to. We were seated pretty quick on the patio, nice mostly enclosed with heater above so it was comfortable. We ordered sliders off the kid menu. Also saw POG (passion, orange, guava) juice so we ordered that for the kid. Even though the juice was listed on the kids menu, it was nice to see that they discounted it for kids size. We ordered shaka chicken, guava skirt steak, poke bowl, and hurricane fries. Hurricane fries were nice and crunchy, little kick from wasabi sauce. Shaka chicken was really tasty. Guava skirt steak was flavorful and tender. Poke bowl was also really good. Overall portions are pretty decent. Food was yummy.

What a treat. We live in the Peninsula and I couldnt believe we hadnt discovered Noelanis. The interior and atmosphere somewhat teleports you to Hawaii. The food is absolutely unique, and really feels home cooked. You can imagine yourself to be in a shack in Hawaii with your loving aunt cooking her dishes with love and not recipes.We absolutely loved the food and experience here. We cant wait to try out more dishes. Highly recommend the katsu as they are absolutely crispy, tender and sublime.Hawaiian comfort food at its best. Absolutely will return.

Aloha,My Ohana raved about the food @ Noelanis for many years but yesterday was our first chance of eating here. It was ONOLICIOUS!We tried the Shaka chicken, pork belly/ pine apple pupus and the chicken katsu. Everyone really enjoyed their choices, it was cooked perfectly.The table service was great, our waitress was awesome. She always checked up on us.Reservations are only allowed for a party of 7 or more so being a popular place be prepared to wait . We arrived around 5 pm and it was busy. Luckily we were able to be seated within 5 mins outside underneath the heaters.A hui hou!

I am born and raised on Maui and I often travel to the Bay Area to see family and friends I ALWAYS make a stop at Noelani’s Restaurant. I love the ambiance, and the food and drinks are great. She puts her little twist on her dishes and so many are just amazing. Whether you are from Hawaii or just enjoy local Hawaiian food style foods, I recommend checking her place out . First sip in and you can immediately taste the guava purée then you kinda taste the orange juice after. Passionfruit flavor was subtle. But overall, its a refreshing drink.2. Aloha!. This place was only missing the sand and waves. The spirit of aloha permeated everything from the service to the atmosphere to the food. Definitely deserve the high rating. The place is bustling and has a patio seating outside next to the street. Spam being an island favorite, we decided to try that first along with the rolls appetizer. Both of them exhibited flavor and freshness. Crunchy rolls with fresh basil was tasty. The dish with shrimp curry with the rice and coleslaw was awesome too with great taste. Great service too. Love the place.

If you want authentic Hawaiian food, this is THE spot!!! They have both indoor and patio seating and a full service bar. Food is fresh, made to order and the drinks are fantastic. Super fun with ukulele music and we were fortunate enough to have hula dancers entertaining while we were there. Will definitely be eating here again soon!

Downtown San Carlos has a lot of cute restaurants and Noelanis is no different.We swung in on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server was polite and attentive - much more so than at a lot of other joints in the Bay.We ordered the loco moco, Kalua pig hash, and tsunami fries. Yelp check in gets you a free order of malasadas.Loco Moco was mostly good. I wished the patty wasnt cooked so well done. It was so well done, it was actually difficult to cut through. Otherwise gravy, fried egg, and rice were on par.Kalua pig hash was missing something. But with a pinch of salt and some hot sauce it was much better.Fries were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were pretty good, just pricy imo.Malasadas were really nice. I wished wed ordered one less dish by now so we could truly enjoy the malasadas, but thats a lesson learned for next time.Overall, the joint is cute, staff are friendly, and food is tasty.The only concern was the price. As other reviews mention, theyre a bit on the pricy side for what youre getting. $9 for fries with some furikake seasoning is high. At least throw on some truffle for that price.Either way, theyre a close spot to my place for when Im craving Hawaiian food.

Outdoor seating is amazing:) Drinks are yummy along with the presentation. I had the Benedict and they used fresh salmon :) Lightly cooked and the sauce was amazing. This is my new go to place when Im craving local Hawaii food! There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try, I will definitely be back again. I had the shaka chicken (kinda like a mochiko chicken) which came drizzled with sriracha and wasabi aioli, it was so yummy! I enjoyed my food so much that I ordered food to go for my lunch tomorrow. They have both indoor tables and a bar, and outdoor tables and lounge couches. The atmosphere makes me feel like Im home in Hawaii. I sat at the bar, and met the owner who was bartending, Noelani was super kind and helped suggest food for me. The malasadas for dessert hit the spot. This place is a lot of fun to go out to. The restaurant has an authentic Hawaiian feeling. I appreciate the servers saying aloha and mahalo, which mirrors my experience in Hawaii. This place is great! 🎉 Got there as they opened on Sunday and had no problems seating our large group of 9 humans and 2 dogs out on the patio.We started off the with hurricane and tsunami fries, both of which were amazing. 😋I got the eggs benedict on Hawaiian pig with hash browns. Enjoyed eating here very much!My friend and I went for a late lunch, without a reservation, and were seated outside on rattan patio furniture. The breeze was much appreciated, and the puppies passing by were very cute.Eventhough it was 1pm, we ordered off the btreakfast menu. We decided to split three different items in order to taste more dishes. First up (3rd picture) was the macadamia nut banana pancakes. Not much nuts. My friend said she had a bite with crunch, I got none. Oh and the center of of the cakes were undercooked. Next was the Island Eggs Bennedicts with lomi lomi salmon, Hawaiian bread, lemon hollandaise and paniolo potatoes. Eventhough we got hashbrowns instead paniolo potatoes, so I still dont know what paniolo potatoes are, but the Bennedicts were delicious. My very favorite was a Kulua Pork Hash. Large pieces of pork atop a potato hash with two poached eggs. My eggs were not overcooked so the yolk was very running, mixing into the hash. Another delicious plate of food.Only street parking, which I found difficult as there was a farmers market down the street. However, my girlfriend got a spot right in front at 12:30 pm.All in all a very nice place for a very late brunch. I need a nap now!

Came here with some friends for Sunday brunch, one of which is a native Hawaiian. I really enjoyed this place. The food was great, the cocktail list was large and the space was lively. The Halloween cocktail options, where our group selected their drinks from, were fun and inventive. I ended up going with the Katsu bowl with spam fried rice. The katsu was fried perfectly and the spam fried rice was a nice addition. However, if you like fried chicken, try the Shaka Chicken. The rice flour made for excellent breading and, while Im not normally an aioli fan, the sauces all came together to make a tasty dish. Id also recommend the skirt steak chicharones.

The restaurant was charming with lots of Island touches. The food was beautifully presented but the grilled fish tacos were dry and flavorless. Honestly the most boring and tasteless fish tacos I’ve ever eaten. The fish tasted like it had been grilled the day before and reheated in the microwave. So disappointing! But maybe we will go back and try something else next time. The chicken Katsu wasn’t bad, but that’s one of those dishes that generally is a bit dry.

The tsunami fries was the best dish out of the six ordered dishes. Popcorn chicken had too much sauce and way too much batter, and very little chicken. The ahi poke bowl was bland. Quesadilla was all right and the fish tacos were just okay. Seems like a place to drink at the bar with buddies and eating only appetizers. Customer service was all right.

I ordered the Hawaiian poke for $16 and got a tiny thing that not even my toddler son would eat to be full (see photo with a beer can for comparison). No rice no sides! I mean seriously how can you not be ashamed to be selling this thing and for this price? Had about 40 minutes before an appointment, and Noelanis was on my way, so I thought Id give it a try. The server was super friendly and very helpful describing menu items. Ordered kalua pork quesadillas and a pineapple cider. Quesadillas had a lot of filling, and the pork was very tasty. The pineapple cider was very cold, and the flavor went nicely with the food. (The flower on the rim of the glass was a very nice touch.) The only negative is that quesadillas were a bit expensive - but in all fairness, maybe its because I usually eat protein bars at my desk.

Love this place. Family friendly, great staff, strong mai tais. Unmistakeable island atmosphere with live music and chill outdoor sections. Only reason for the four star is the food was hit or miss. The pork belly app was crispy yet fork tender, the karaage delicious and juicy, and the spam musubi is a must, as its an island specialty. Unfortunately the prawns on the shrimp plate were a touch over cooked and the loco moco patties were dry, bland, and also over done. Eager to return and try out more dishes and enjoy the Aloha vibes.

From the appetizer to the cocktails, this spot is a definite go to. The serving for the main course is ample and made so delicious and the cocktails are made as they should be. Lets just say unlike many bars these days their (at Noelanis) drinks are never watered down. As for the service... We have experienced being greeted with the warmest welcome all the time! And for the wait time in food prep... We are a family of 6 and our food always arrived in a timely manner!Give this place a try if you havent already. The people vibe out there is always chill and everyone there is super social!

Noelanis definitely takes you back to the islands. We had pupus which were delicious (definitely check out the kaka oka nachos) and the plantation mai-tai was also fabulous. Staff was helpful, funny, friendly... and totally from the islands themselves. We dined on a Saturday night, and out of nowhere there was a 3-man band playing island classics. Some things to mention about Noelanis.. They get busy at times so expect that front of the house can be a bit overwhelmed, but their kitchen is very fast so food comes out quickly in spite of the preceding.They have full bar, with some fun drinks on the adult drink menu. I was not a huge fan. Maybe it’s because my expectations of Hawaiian food are higher. The food was very mediocre and over priced. We got fresh spring rolls as an appetizer and it was only four small pieces of vegetables. We got the Shaka chicken and it was not very impressive, still had an over fried taste to it. I came here with my mom for her first Hawaiian food experience and it was amazing!! The meat was so tender and the poke was fresh. We also had some coconut shrimp for appetizer and piña coladas to get the real island experience. My mom loved this place and told me it was one of her favorite places during her visit to the bay.I heard the place it’s usually full during the weekends so be mindful of that. Nice place that is down the street from their downtown area so there isnt much of a fight in terms of parking. The staff is friendly and they allow dogs for outdoor dining. Had a great experience here with my husband back in January. This review is long overdue! We walked in on a Friday evening and there was a long waiting list, which we didnt mind. They told us it could take 30 mins for a table so we walked around Laurel until they called us 15 mins earlier than expected. The kitchen was swamped, but the staff was so nice and the food was still amazing. We ordered the poke sampler as an appetizer, plus virgin piña coladas (we loved those virgin piña coladas btw!). For the main course, I had kalua pork with spam rice, and my husband had the teriyaki chicken bowl. Both dishes were filling and delicious. The vibe is great - feels like you stepped inside a local restaurant on the Big Island ! And the staff are friendly and welcoming. But I was expecting more from the food which was just average. The salad tasted like it came out of a bag of salad youd buy at the grocery store (for $11 ??? No thanks !) and although the Spam masubi looked pretty and tasted fine, the spam masubi at L&L is better.

Strange hours. Chicken Katsu is probably best thing here. Food not the best. Fun place though. Id go back for lunch. I wouldnt take a date here. They serve Hawaiian beer. Not much better than an LL Hawaiian BBQ chain. Not bad enough to keep me from coming back, but not good enough to rave about. How bad you want Hawaiian food? You dont have many other options.

This place is probably the most comfortable island restaurant Ive been to on the mainland (other than one that closed a long time ago that was owned by family-friend).I havent been here enough to really comment on the food. When I went, I ordered a Loco moco. If any restaurant gets a Loco moco wrong, I wouldnt waste my time talking about it. That being said, the Loco moco was as delicious as any Ive had on Hawaii.Our server was a super friendly, high energy guy that felt more like talking to a cousin than a server. He did a great job at making us feel welcome and comfortable.Well definitely go back when were in the area again.

This was our friends favorite spot to relax and enjoy some snacks and drinks. After today, I dont think this is the case anymore...We made reservations a month and a half ago for a table for 12. When we arrived, there was a private party. What?! They had already confirmed our reservation the weekend before. We had a handful of people who flew in from SD & LA (including myself).We walked in to speak with the management. They mentioned that someone had contacted us back and confirming the cancellation of the reservation. Yes, they did call last weekend and mentioned there was a party but since the reservation was already made more than a month ago, they would still honor our reservation.The manager we spoke with wouldnt even empathize with us and kept claiming that they called to tell us the reservation was cancelled. From her own words, I dont know what to tell you...We were in utter misbelief. She was not apologetic at all and gave us a tone of voice like we were at fault. She practically gave us the impression that were sh** out of luck...Not once did she take the opportunity to try and fix things and make up for it. She could have at least mentioned that perhaps there was a miscommunication but no, she kept being standoffish.Noelanis, you lost our business before you even had it. Were a pretty big group of loyal foodies who will continue to patronize a place we love. We had high hopes and were excited to come here.....but you really dropped the ball, Noelanis.

Visited again, this time didnt like the lau lau as much. Not enough leaves for my taste. Loco Moco was just OK. But Shaka chicken got even better and Hula pie peppermint flavor was amazing. Also tried salmon musubi and enjoyed it. Still awesome service and great ambiance---------Loved the laulau, octopus poke and even the poi. My husband likes the Shaka chicken. Extremely friendly aloha style. Its like visiting Hawaii. Loved it.

This is a nice place, but pricey in my view. I love saimin so that is why I do go here. No place sells saimin like you get in Hawaii, but this is the closest. Went there last week with a friend. All I had was one drink and saimin. She had one drink and one appetizer (sliders). It was happy hour and our bill was over $50. Thought that was a bit pricey for two drinks, one appetizer and saimin!😦

A dishonest waiter added extra to my tip without my permission! It wasn’t much, but it definitely wasn’t a clerical error. I gave a meager $2 tip on a $16 item because it was a to-go order and no-one had waited on me — I just picked up and left. If I dine in, I give 20+% always, with no exception. I blacked out their name, but I was honestly disappointed because I actually enjoyed the food and thought it was quite good. I did not appreciate the dishonesty of rounding my total up to $20 without my permission. We put faith in those who handle our food and credit cards and I felt violated.

I actually love noelanis food. But the staff is usually not the best; Noelani is usually at the bar and she is the best. Well, we had a few items missing on a door dash order, no big deal, things happen. A call later and my Gf talked to Brad, who was an ass Whole, over the phone. Also, he introduced himself as the owner of the place. I feel people dont listen these days, and people dont take responsibility for anything. We didnt get fried rice, he said it was in the bag, then he said he was out of some products... so are you out of Fried rice, or did you put it in the bag. Then after a quick question, hes a douche again, and after a quick conversation that went nowhere, they disconnected. I tried to call back, and the hostess said he was no longer there. Fair enough, Im not mad that food wasnt delivered, things happen. I hate people who try to be big guys over the phone. Sorry Noelani if Brad is your husband.

Liked the food, drinks are reasonably priced too I thought. Staff bussed the tables regularly, which was nice. Felt like the waitstaff could have checked more frequently, whether customers needed another drink or anything else. But I would try it again

I ordered a truffle burger and asked for it to be cooked medium rare. I got a well done burger, when I complained I was told they had to cook it well because of the truffle, which really makes no sense to me. Cuz they shouldnt have asked me how to cook it or accepted my order of medium rare. They also gave me their special fries when I asked for regular fries, I was it was accidental, but I dont appreciate the spices they use, so it erked me. They seem to have internal issues as well, I heard a younger employee bad mouthing another employee named Brad and it was really off putting...

After an 8 day trip to Kihei, Maui, my girlfriend and I were having island withdrawals and needed to feel that aloha spirit some more. Noelanis was the perfect remedy especially with their POG mai tais and coconut margaritas!!! They also have Maui Brewing Company on tap which was perfect since we went to dinner and bought beer to go at the brewery restaurant in Kihei. After an order of the Ahi spicy tuna poke bowl and the fish tacos we were content and feeling a little closer to paradise. The staff was very friendly and full of good island vibes. The aloha spirit of the islands is a real thing and these folks have it in abundance. Mahalo!

We hosted a Tierra Linda after Graduation Party in the front lounge area on 6/11/14, our first visit. We all had a fabulous time. The waitstaff was fun and helpful, owner Brad Wills treated us like Ohana and talked story with us all night. We had the home made taro nachos with Shoyu Poke, as they say in Hawaii, broke da mouth and onolicious. The group loved the many Pu Pus including Spicy Prawns, fantastic two kine HI style fries, two kine Poke and healthy Spring Rolls. The tab for 8 hungry and thirsty party goers was reasonable, we cant wait to check out the Hawaiian music nights and dig into some of the entrees. We live part time on the North Shore of Oahu at Sunset Beach and found Noelanis better and more fun than most all of the local restaurants on the North Shore.Noelanis is da kine.

Meh, its ok. dont expect island portion plate size. dont expect authentic polynesian Island food...just casual Asian influenced foods with sauces to give some kine island feel but service is ok.
