2023-10-14 23:46:33After seeing the reviews and pictures we finally came to check out this place today. Totally shocked when appetizers came, which were served in huge plates with big portion definitely not in Japanese dedicated way. You can taste the difference of sushi rice here compared to other good sushi places. Definitely not good quality of sushi rice, which is a killer for sushi. Two stars for vibe and decoration. Will not come back.

2023-06-16 00:16:47Absolutely worth it. The uni was pricey but omg was it fantastic. Honestly top 3 uni Ive ever had. The green ice tea was perfect and not bitter. 3 rolls for the two of us was exactly what we needed. We also had the oysters which was really good but I will say not my top 10. Mostly due to the sauce.

2023-12-02 18:12:35Noma sushi is my favorite Santa Monica sushi spot. Been going here for almost 10 years. The food is good and fun with some classic staples and unique dishes. The service is... less impressive. It usually takes forever to get any service but the wait staff is always nice and pleasant if unattentive.Ambiance is unique for sushi spot in LA. It doesnt try to be LA it feels more authentic.

2023-06-02 21:39:50By far my favorite sushi place in Santa Monica. I ordered take out and the next day enjoyed eating at the restaurant. I always make a stop when in town. The uni is fresh and delicious. So many options on the menu. Chirashi bowls are my favorite.

2022-11-05 02:06:49Absolutely delicious sushi and amazing service! This place was surprisingly busy and had good vibes on a Thursday night around 6-8. While there we randomly experienced a power outage and the staff was so nice and helped us pay our bill anyways. I recommend the hungry roll, caterpillar roll, and the Alaskan roll.

2023-09-25 16:18:29Its such a great place! The food was really fresh and delicious. We got sea urchin - yammy, eel, blue fin tuna, and baby lobsters. Soup was great, but mushrooms tested like a rubber. Its a bit pricey, but food is worth it. This restaurant got an amazing service.

2023-02-11 05:29:01Got a takeout orderOrdered online (prices are ~4-5% higher than at the restaurant and they add 11% tip mandatory, for pickup). It said 1 hour wait time to be ready, no problem.I call 30 min before to check in on the order, and they say itll take 10 minutes longer, no problem. Before i hang up, they mention 2 items were unavailable so they would remove them (instead of calling me when they found out to find a replacement).I show up 1hr15 min after placing the order (5 min after they told me it would be ready). It wasnt. Had to wait another 15 minutes to get the order, staff was unfriendly (clearly overworked, with dozens of people outside waiting to be seated and waiting for their orders, i feel bad for the staff). When i open the order, i notice one of the items was incorrect (sushi, fresh water eel instead of sea eel, which is a far inferior product, also cheaper). The eggplant (nasu dengaku) was half cooked. Inedible. The maki rolls (spicy tuna and spicy salmon) were insipid and made with haste. The rice on the california style spicy tuna was rolled with no attention, it was flakey and came off. I am by no means a sushi chef and have made better rolls at home. There was also a SHARP PIECE OF BAMBOO in the maki and i impaled my pallet. Fun times. The yellowtail jalapeño was good, but $26++ for 6 small slices of yellowtail is exorbitant. It wasnt anything special. The fatty tuna sushi was definitely not Toro or anything like that. Not worth $25++ for 2 pieces. The wasabi was almost melting from having way too much water in it.All in all, a mediocre experience. I would be fine with this quality at a fast food sushi place. Unfortunately this was $150 for 2 people. Kitchen is clearly overwhelmed (restaurant was full, with a long line outside to sit down as well as to pick up orders, 3 orders were picked up while i waited).I cannot recommend this place at all. Very disappointed, was looking forward to a fancy sushi night.

2022-06-30 15:42:15This is definitely one of the best sushi restaurants i’ve had, on the outside it doesn’t look too inviting but step in and it is a very comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. Service was great and food was delivered quickly. Rolls were well thought and prepared, very fresh fish also. Family of 3 and we spent ~$110

2022-09-24 21:48:09Sushi spot in Santa Monica that’s good for grabbing a casual weeknight dinner. Came here on a Wednesday around 6pm and got seated immediately (note that your entire party needs to be present). We split an order of tempura udon and sushi ensemble (with spicy tuna rolls for $1 more). I really liked the udon, and the tempura was freshly fried and not oily. The sushi ensemble came with different cuts of fish so it’s a good option if you want variety. They do have lunch specials. There’s a tiny parking lot as well as metered street parking. The restrooms were out of order when we were there. Credit cards accepted. Indoor dining only.
