Very surprised. this place is not good anymore.First time I visited Nong La on Sawtelle Blvd was 2017 when I was in town. Came back to NYC and was always reminiscing about the wonderful Pho I had there.Fast forward 2023... I come back.Very disappointed.Fried eggrolls. Are so greasy and dripping in oil. Sent them back and they said they would remake them and even acknowledged that the eggrolls were quite greasier than usual.The waitress literally came back 2 minutes later with the same plate of eggrolls as greasy as ever.Lol I felt like we were being punked.I didnt even bother to complain because I had a feeling I would only be disappointed again.Summer rolls came out and they were HARD.They tasted as if they were made 8 hours prior and stored in the fridge.For someone who doesnt know.. they will just think vietnamese summer rolls are overrated.Thats not true. Vietnamese summer rolls are supposed to be room temperature and bouncy soft in texture.Not like a hard piece of rubber.Rice with grilled pork was cold. Im starting to think everything is made and plated in advance.Dont even get me started on the pho.Horrible pho. Cloudy broth.We came in at 7pm. Restaurant closes at 9pm. But still no excuse.Broth tasted like bottom of the barrel sediment.ZERO STARS.Its so bad, I wouldnt even eat there for free.

I recently tried the chefs specialty dish at this spot, and let me tell you, its seriously delicious! What stood out was the generous portion they serve for the price; its a good deal, no doubt. The flavor may seem simple, but trust me, it hits the spot in the best way possible. I wont sugarcoat it—no need for fancy words—its just downright satisfying.One great thing about this place? You wont find yourself stuck in a long line, unlike at the Tujita next door. Its a definite plus, especially when youre craving a quick, delightful meal without the hassle of waiting.Im already planning my return visit to try another dish from their menu. The experience was so enjoyable that Im eager to explore more of what they have to offer. If youre around the area, this place is worth considering for a satisfying and hassle-free dining experience.

I ordered the cold vermicelli salad & my boyfriend ordered the pho.According to him the pho is average like a 6/10, my vermicelli salad was average as well as some of the vermicelli are too hard & the grilled pork on it was on the dry side.Service was friendly & nice. Still a place. you can consider if you want vietnamese food near sawtelle

Casual Vietnamese spot on Swatelle. Great spot for a quick bite. Probably not a spot for long dining experience.There are some great vegetarian options. I ordered the veggie banh mi. Fresh and decent portion. The server was really attentive and friendly.

I was in Vietnam Ho Chi Minh a month ago and had a blast of Pho.Bong La Cafe’s Pho is authentic enough considering we are in LA.Well done

Great pho that really hit the spot on a cold and rainy day on the West Side. Fairly busy on a weekday lunch time, but only waited about 5 minutes to sit. The broth was tasty, more gingery than some others but not too strong, and meats cooked just right! Would recommend the egg rolls and black tea as well to go with the soup!

Outdoor seating along busy sawtelle avenue with lots of crowds evokes an urban experience in otherwise sleepy West LA. Decent to good standard Vietnamese fare, not memorable really but not bad in any way. Vermicelli has plenty of vegetables. Spring rolls are quite good. Good prices. Friendly service. No parking whatsoever, good luck with that.

Hands down the best spot for Pho in West LA! There can be a bit of wait at times, but it’s definitely worth it. It’s a simple spot that lets the food speak volumes for itself. The Dac Biet Pho is fantastic, but if it’s available, get the Chef’s Special as it’s also tasty and more filling. The Banh Mis are good here, I suggest to get the Sesame Steak as opposed to the Chicken one, and of course you should add the egg to it! The staff is caring, enthusiastic, and attentive. This is definitely a great choice for a lunch while in Sawtelle Japantown.

I was craving some banh mi and so I decided to order for the first time from you guys via ubereats. I enjoyed one half of my sandwich and as I took a bite out of my second sandwich, I noticed something white and I took a closer look and found 2 strands of white hair inside the sandwich. My stomach has turned upside down and I absolutely lost my appetite. I tried pulling out those strands of hair and its pretty deep inside the sandwich its not even coming out. The sandwich itself was really delicious while it lasted, but Im seriously questioning the lack of hygiene. You got definitely need to invest in a hair net or something.I cant seem to find an option to upload the picture of this issue, but I have it if you need proof.
