Slightly above average noodles shop specializes in Chinese style red braised beef noodles.Order: Beef & Tendon w/ Wide Noodles + added broccoli, Cucumber salad, Herbal Tea.+ Stunning art on the wall.+ Nice chewy wide noodles. Tendon was cooked well, tender but not falling apart.+ Cucumber was crunchy and refreshing; chili oil was good too.* Mostly self serving: you sit yourself by a table, order and checkout on your phone and fill yourself water from the jug. They did bring my food to me.* It was empty at 11am on a Saturday.- The red braised beef stew has the *exact* flavor of the classic Kang Shi Fu (Master Kang) brand instant noodles. Really threw me off guard.

If youre looking for a quick and frankly delicious meal, then this is the place for you. As a frequent visitor of this restaurant, I can confidently say that their noodles are some of the best in the area. Thick and full of flavor, its definitely worth a try. Though their menu has a small variety, something is bound to match your cravings.Though this noodle restaurant is genuinely one of my favorites, there are a few things that could be better. As this restaurant is built for quick and casual dining, they use a lot of disposable utensils and dishware which make it seem a bit unwelcoming. There are also hardly any staff in the building which makes it difficult to get workers attention if something is wrong with your order. However, the waiters are very nice. The facility is also quite small, but dont let that impair your judgement on the food.Overall, this is still one of the best noodle places, in my opinion, that are in the San Mateo area. Regardless of whether you come for a meal or for a quick noodle snack, this place has something for everyone.(p.s. the biang biang noodles are a must try)

Did take out and biang biang noodles. Could have had a little more sauce to make it easier to separate the noodles but overall enjoyed it. Ordered the very spicy and it was a good spice. Liked the vegetables, made a good contrast. The meat was a little fatty. Would eat again. Pretty expensive though.

Great noodles at a decent price.Was hesitant when I walked in and Christmas music was blasting at volume 120%, but this actually ended up getting me all excited.Computer screen takes your order. In the end, they ask how your mood is. I wonder how this changes the food, but strangely makes me feel better after answering. Thank you.Great chewy noodles.1 star was deducted because the store could be a little cleaner. I saw other people changing tables and wiping their table before eating.

Who knows what kind of insect is this? A baby cockroach? Noodleosophy you need to do a better job on food hygieneUPDATE: called them immediately asking for a refund. They said sorry and ensured me the refund request is completed. Two weeks later I don’t see refund. Either the employees are not properly trained, or they simply don’t think they have problem and their action shows they don’t feel sorry at all.

Vaguely pan-Asian fast food sort of establishment. Pick your dish, then noodle type (wide or narrow), soup or no soup. Service is quick and the food is yummy. Not as many options as some similar restaurants of this type, but the family has liked all the dishes we have selected so far.

Clean and quaint place. You can order with a cashier or make the order through the automated cashier.Noodles are freshly made. You get the option of the thick noodle or ramen. Entered and placed order and paid online via their QR code and Toast App. Waited 30 minutes and no food. Finally, a person came and asked what our order is. We said we had already ordered and they told us that their internet was down. So they never received their order. Not sure if this is an internet issue or a Toast issue, but it ruined the experience. Staff should have told us upfront that their internet is down. I’ve had issues with ordering via the Toast app at another branch before. Might skip this chain until they fix or scuttle the Toast order system.

I love this place. Some of the noodle dishes have an Indian fusion thing going on, which is delicious and really unique in the ramen haven that is downtown San Mat. The noodles are fresh and the service is quick. Great spot for a solo meal, you can sit at the bar and watch them make noodles or sit at the window and people watch.

Awesome fresh made noodles to order! Loved the biang biang noodles (fatter ones). The ramen style noodle (thinner ones) were less g good. Tried both lamb and garlic pork as toppings and love both. Recommend! Fast and delicious, expect a carbo load! The side cucumber salad is good too, looks very spicy but is actually not spicy at all. Would give 4.5 Stars if I could.

I guess the food is suppose to be from Xian China. I was just in Xian and I can say they missed the mark.One of the worst meals Ive had. The sweet and sour chicken with baing baing noodles was bad. The chicken was glazed in a hard candy glaze that was overly sweet. It was served on top of the thick wide noodles, with broccoli on the side. There was no sauce on the pasta or broccoli. And the broccoli wasnt seasoned. Adding hot sauce (chili oil) on the side helped, but it didnt make up for the lack of flavor. The service was ok, but it was so loud in the restaurant that it was hard to hear the cashier.The other frustrating thing is the homemade noodles. Instead of calling them house made noodles or wide noodles they called them Biang Biang noodles. I wasnt sure if the pronunciation, nor is it noted on the menu. So when the cashier said do you want Ramen, I said, no Ill have the other. Which she then replied Which one? So I was forced to butcher the pronunciation. I understand Biang Biang noodles is the official name, but can you just call them Bang Bang noodles, or add that below the actual name in quotes? They put meat paste and not Ròu jiàng which are the same. Make it easy to be a customer!

Service was great, food was served quickly and tasted really great. We ordered the beef stew noodle (soup) and pickle pork noodle (dry). Both of the dishes was very balanced in taste and flavor were all there. Generally, when I go to other similar restaurant i notice they either were too salty or not enough flavor, but this place hit the spot. Even the noodles ( freshly made in house) was awesome, they were just right with texture and consistency. I would come back to try the cummin lamb noodle on my next stop. Almost forgot to mention, the portion is generous as well.

I have been absolutely in love with this place since they opened. Everything is amazing and makes me nostalgic for my first trip to Taiwan.My two favorite dishes are the beef stew wet and the ground pork with pickles.I cant even begin to describe how happy these two dishes make me, tears in the eyes good. Pretty amazing noodles, having had both their cumin lamb and beef noodle soup.Somewhat unfortunate that theyre a bit further from where I currently live so take out always inevitably cools off, but still worth it! Our favorite go-to noodle place at an affordable price (relative to the Bay Area that is). We always get the meat paste biang biang and occasionally the fried dumplings, and they are both just simply delightful and delicious! You can easily get a good fill for less than $40 for 2 people. Even if we are regulars to the point the staff recognizes us now, their service has always been on point since our first visit. The inside is a little small and can get pretty crowded, but we seem to never have any issues getting seats by the time the food is ready.

Honestly, the noodles are quite tasty, soup flavorful and loads of meat. That’s why despite the following consistent annoyances I begrudgingly come back and hate them all over again:1. They are soooo slow. Especially online orders. No matter what time you place the order add an extra 30-45mins from the pickup time they text you.2. Super confusing pick up and ordering set up. If you do an online order, you have to go in and “check-in” on a screen - that’s typically when they even start making your noodles. Make sure they know you’re there and waiting otherwise they skip over you.3. I’ve seen folks who order in person get their noodles much quicker though they’re still waiting around for a good 15-20mins.4. Because of the above points, I ordered in person last time. (I actually ordered online then cancelled because I remembered how much longer it takes.) I went in and ordered and paid. However, they didn’t refund my cancelled order even though I confirmed with someone on the phone and when I placed my order in person.Taking my time is one thing, but taking my money without delicious food is another thing - and a bowl of noodles here isn’t cheap either! I feel like every time I’ve gone I’ve had a bad experience - ripe for competition to pop up and give us a better experience (hellllo Xi’an famous noodles?!?)

I love this place. The noodles are handmade; you can watch them make it.I always order the Beef Noodle Soup with the Biang Biang noodles (flat wide noodles). The broth is really flavorful, and comes with plenty of garnishes like carrots and green onions.The food comes extremely quick and there are always tables and never a line. The style is self service. I wouldnt say the portions are the biggest ever, however, the food is so tasty and irresistable.

We were excited that a northern Chinese noodle place finally opened up in San Mateo. However, the restaurant was extremely disappointing! The food tasted very bad - the noodle was very thick, raw and in-chewable. The space was crowded and nobody cleaned the table up. The soup doesnt have a flavor. If you are looking authentic Chinese food, definitely do not come here.

The place is in downtown San Mateo, and theres street parking outside. The shop isnt the biggest, but theres enough seating I guess. Anyway, upon entering, I saw this big screen where people can order food! I went through it to order, pay, and get a beeper. Super cool, I havent seen other restaurants do this before. I ordered lamb cumin biang biang noodles and the buzzer rang soon after I placed my order. I got my bowl of noodles and it was great! A bit salty but the noodles were really chewy and delicious. I liked the steamed broccoli on the side as well. The line to order became a lot longer after I started eating, and the place became a bit more crowded as well. The food itself was great though, definitely recommend! Its a bit pricey at a bit more than $12 post-tax for the portin, but still worth it!

San Mateo down added a few new eateries since my last visit. I tried this Noodleosophy for lunch. The crowd is mostly young professionals knowing exactly what they want. The soft drink was marked as $1.99 on the large menu board, and we were charged $2.45. the receptionist didnt give me a receipt. I had to ask for one and found the cost difference. She still charged us $2.45, saying the price has been changed. The higher price is correct.
