Overall great Chinese food in Berkeley for an okay price. Really like the Taiwan beef noodle soup and jiangxi noodle salad. Everything came out as expected. Good service, clean plating, plenty of seating. Scallion pancakes were really disappointing though; very little actual scallions in them.

Food was pretty good, price for it was slightly pricey but filling. Service was alright. Atmosphere was nice. Felt like we couldnt stay here long to chit-chat if we wanted to. Ordered 2 noodle dishes & 1 appetizer which came out to be $40.12 for lunch-ish hour (2pm).

Lovely place - very accessible and easy to find right on Shattuck. Place is nice and spacious and very clean.Service is friendly and very quick.We shared onion pancake which was nice and crispy, chicken homemade rice noodle soup and beef tips thick noodle soup. Everything was delicious but the beef dish stood out. Our 4 years old also enjoyed the soups and especially the crispy onion pancake.Will definitely be back when around the area :)

I came here during my lunch break one afternoon. The salt and pepper (appetizer) chicken wings are good as well as the vegetarian dumplings (the latter especially with dipping sauce). My beef and noodle dish had very thin strips of meat, and the flavoring of the nuts in the dish is absolutely tasty. The dishes didn’t take a long time to come out, and I loved pouring their black tea with the ceramic teapot. The restaurant has a nice design, with teapots hanging on the wall for a (occasional) fountain, and a tv to watch muted sports (womens tennis when I was there). You can tell there are a lot of regular/loyal customers, so they’re seeming satisfied, and I love that their are lots of options on the menu for any persons’ preferences.

Wow, my first time visiting the Oakland/Berkley area and Noodles Fresh surprised me.Waiters were amazing and accommodating and I enjoyed eating my meal while looking at the well set kitchen, while listening to great ambient music.Their Mongolian Beef dish was awesome. Succulent and just the right amount of saltiness. Recommend ordering a side of rice with it.Also, highly recommend that you order their fermented cabbage. Basically Chinese Kimchi. Spicy and salty. Great combo with beer!

I really like the soups here, specifically the seafood soup. I dont get much else. The broth is flavorful but light, and theres a really nice variety of seafood in it. Their house tea is also worth asking for, I think its some sort of red, not exactly sure, but its very nice. The pot stickers arent worth getting, though. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for a big bowl of authentic Asian noodle soup in a calm atmosphere.

Really tasty noodles and Hainan chicken !! Super fast and attentive service, classy and relaxing environment, and most importantly great flavor. The prices are just right for the area. Really happy with everything we got. The matching uniforms, abundance of beautiful flowers, and decor are all so cute and show attention to detail. Cant wait to come back to try more dishes 🥰

Love Noodles Fresh!Used to go there a lot! Was particularly found of their Shanghai Scallion 😍 It’s vegan, healthy and super good!The manager of the restaurant is very nice also. Recommend this place to go or eat there!

Food was alright, didnt taste very fresh, noodles and soup were disappointing.the price is low so if youre looking for a cheap meal this will definitely fit the bill.The day I went the service was a bit slammed, so everything took a very long time. I didnt reflect this in my rating though, cause a lot of places seem this way right now.

Got the Taiwan Beef (top) and Lamb (bottom). They gave very big portions relative to most Berkeley restaurants for a decent price. The meats were soft and beef soup was very flavorful. The place is nice and welcoming.Also glad the ramen wheat noodle is eggless 👍

Noodles was definitely made fresh. I ordered the Dian Dian noodles, totally hit the spot, love the sauce! Tea is delish and authentic. The porcelain are beautiful! There’s also a welcoming charm about this place. It’s a husband and wife team where the husband manages this location and he’s friendly, and seems so nice! Prices are super reasonable too so it’s great!

The food is pretty meh. We got Dan Dan Noodles, beef noodle soup and scallion pancakes. All of them were sub par. Wouldn’t try again. Easy pick up and place looked clean.

My girlfriend and I came at around 4pm, and were greeted by a very calming atmosphere inside. The ceiling is high, the piano jazz is not too loud, and the open kitchen format makes the whole place feel a little more lively. It was a cool experience to watch our food being made from the other side of the restaurant. Made the whole place feel pretty classy, but not inaccessible.We ordered the Hainan Chicken and Jiang-de noodles, and they arrived within 8 minutes of ordering. Both were quite tasty without being too salty (salty is a common criticism I have for Chinese restaurants around Berkeley, but not this one).In the Jiang-de noodles, the bitterness of the cabbage cuts through the sweetness the bell peppers and sauce contain, and the chicken is not dry at all, while the whole dish strikes a good balance with its spiciness.I’d highly recommend the Hainan chicken. I’ve been craving a place around Berkeley that can make it well, and I noticed that this place has an $8.95 lunch special for the hainan as well (M-F 11:00-2:30ish), which is a great deal for Downtown Berkeley.If you’re a student and looking for a good date spot without breaking your wallet, I’d also say this is a good bet (:

Excellent Chinese food with a diverse range of dishes from all over China. Prices are reasonable for the area and service is always friendly (I’ve been there for dine-in and take-out 5+ times). The Hainan chicken rice is my favorite dish and always prepared very well!

This is my go to spot when I don’t feel like cooking. Always quick and polite service. Love the atmosphere of the Shattuck location and love how they package to go orders so neatly and separate so everything is fresh when you do take out soup. I usually get the jiangxi noodles but I love the fish soup and the scallion pancake is always a nice treat.

I love eating at Noodle Fresh for their food selections and freshness. Friendly staff. Highly recommended. Also, great place to try various brewed tea from their tea bar. The owner will explain the history of your tea and food from different regions in China. Fun and informative.

I cant speak to how authentic this is but it is definitely not your typical Americanized Chinese food. No General Tsos to be found and the dishes we ordered were fantastic. Super yummy and reasonably priced.

My favorite Chinese restaurant. Great food. Top notch, always fresh ingredients. Comfortable, spotless and attractive setting and great service. I love soups and noodles and their South East Asian Chicken is always my go to on a chilly day or when I have the chills. Also a wonderful selection of teas served beautifully to go along with their interesting regional dishes.

Noodles Fresh is one of best Chinese restaurants I have ever visited in the Bay Area. The menu is varied and offers many items not seen in typical Chinese restaurants. The food tastes so fresh and bright! The owner Tom is very welcoming and friendly, and he happily guided us through the menu, describing the dishes and making recommendations. I dont live in the East Bay, but I am willing to make the drive for Noodles Fresh wonderful dishes.

Good flavorful brothy soup that is affordable and close to campus! Had the shangai double happiness (in an omnivore, but i was vibing with veggies) and my bf had the southeast Asian chicken. Very superb! Not super crowded, good beer selections on tap.My shanghai was earthy and meaty despite having no meat; thick veggies and schrooms with thick noodles.The chicken one is a lighter broth, with thinner rice noodles and generous morsels of chicken. The asian version of chicken noodle soup, but better.Along with a side of Hainan chicken flavored rice, very cozy meal for a chilly night.

My staff and I have been enjoying NoodlesFresh since it opened a couple of years ago. Every month our staff has the NoodlesFresh lunch menu and we enjoy their vegan and gluten-free selections as well. Ive been going to the El Cerrito location for years and was very pleased to find the same unique dishes now available in Berkeley. Upscale dining at reasonable prices should definitely make Noodles Fresh a favorite when students return to UCB. Hong Kong Barbecued Pork Bowl is my favorite weekly lunch treat and Mongolia Beef for dinner is absolutely killer!

Noodles Fresh is an authentic Chinese restaurant where quality ingredients and freshness go hand in hand. I’m a long time regular who has trouble getting beyond the spicy cabbage or potsticker appetizers, and the Hainan Curry Chicken and incredibly tender Mongolian Beef make mighty tasty main courses.But regardless of what I order it all gets washed down with Faction’s delicious DIPA...... fellow tea enthusiasts won’t be disappointed either!Just tell Tom that Mark sent you;-)

What a delight! No wonder all of our friends are regulars here! We love Noodles Fresh and only wish that we had discovered it sooner! Everyone in the family can get their specialty from different parts of China at the same time! Plus they have vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, and are very accommodating to our allergies and special orders. Clean & hygienic, social distancing, mask wearing. Everything you would expect from these well educated owners. My favourite is the Dan Dan noodles, my husband likes the chilli Szechuan, kids like the double happiness and Jing de Jian. Highly recommend!!!

I ordered Taiwanese beef noodles and I was very disappointed with the high expectations. It tasted terrible. The waiters worked very hard and it was obvious that they were understaffed. The environment is a bit undescript, I wont come back again.
