The store is huge with great selection. We absolutely love the spicy salsas, quacomolr and the tamales are the best. The variety of peppers is amazing. There was a younger girl who spoke English in the meat department who was super helpful and had great customer service skills the afternoon of October 27th that I visited the store.

I love shopping here! Pan dulce, nopales, tortillas, hot to-go food (which is pretty decent), fresh guacamole, and beautiful flowers to bring home to uplift your spirits! Gonzalez has delicious pickled jalapenos!!!!

Accessibility: they have a few handicap accessible parking spots in the parking lot across from the entrance of the building, but I did not see any motorized shopping carts here...they may have some and I just didnt see them, so call ahead and ask the store if you can. I did see regular shopping carts. The employees speak Spanish and English. This is a big enough market with spaces plenty wide for wheelchairs.Food taste: amazing! I bought a choco-flan cake here and my girlfriend who is from México loved it!Prices: awesome! Mostly low.Atmosphere: crowded. sketchy customers...lots of regular people and families, then lots of drug addicts and gang members walking through here and hanging outside the store...I definitely watched my back the entire time, and was very worried to see families letting their small children run around unsupervised with really bad looking characters around; sadly its a scary world. Other than this, all the employees were friendly and its a cute market with tons of options and great prices.

The food is great, the Carnitas are so good. The cake selection is nice. I get my birthday cake from there every year because I love chocolate cake 😂. I also love their sushi. Yes its a Mexican market but they have sushi too. Near the exit/entrance where you order food to go they also have a small sushi bar. The sushi is sold in these small platters with about 8-13 pieces or so. Great store, great service.

Northgate is THE BEST GROCERY STORE!! First off the staff are very welcoming and helpful. There are samples of food offered to you just like Costco, but so much better. Samples of tacos and menudo... yum yum! The store is so clean and the fruit and meat department offer only the choicest cuts and freshest fruit. I cant say enough about how clean and fresh all the food is. I have started to go every Saturday and get fresh carne asada, fresh salsas, and fresh corn tortillas for our afternoon lunches. My daughter loves their tamales, and my wife loves the fresh soups. The aqua fresca are soooooo good. You can literally get filled up with all the free samples they offer. But Im not that guy. I get one or two. LOL. I didnt even mention the fresh pan dolce! A whole platter for 5.00! Even if you live out in Lakeside you should take the 35 minute drive and come out here!

My first time in this market today, and I was highly impressed! Its cleanliness, and assortment of unique and beautiful gifts and groceries, highly impressed me! Aguas frescas so many choices. I really like the Maracuya (passion fruit). It is sweet and sour, delicious and you can definitely use the Aguas frescas as drink mix and add your favorite liqour. Im more on the less sweet side. I like to mix mine with water, I can get 3 drinks from one cup, and share. The pricing is great for the quality. The lady helping me out was so kind.

Bought some tripas(about9 $worth) and carnitas(12$ worth) in the restaurant area to go Sunday March 5th about 11 got home,husband almost broke a tooth from the tripas they were old and dry,and he spit out what looked like gravel pebbles and they were.. please be careful if you buy them, carnitas were dry and hard definitely will never buy anything from the deli ever..

In a day that is a traditional mexican festive day..dia del niño (they even have a product to sale Rosca de reyes) they dont even have the basic cashiers..they just had one...Northgate wake up and follow standard processes for the industry...follow kroger...if there is a line of three or more...OPEN ANOTHER CASHIER..you make me wait to give you my money....thats not a good business model...good luck in the future..

Easy process getting in it was well organized and clean, they followed social distance regulations and thats a priority keeping everyone safe. I found what I needed immediately and it was fast and easy. They also provide space for your shopping cart which is very convenient.easy process too pay. Really recommend going if youre trying to get some groceries although they didnt offer hand sanitizer when coming in but I always come prepared.

Love shopping for authentic Mexican food. Store was renovated and is maintained orderly and clean. I can find everything to prepare a meal. I specially like the offerings at the meat department. I can buy meat, chicken or seafood already seasoned to cook at home. Staff is efficient and friendly.

Polite employees only problem with my visit was that they jam packed my groceries into to few bags way way too heavy specially for a 6 month pregnant woman to lift and placed 2 cartons of eggs on top of my pan dolce witch was irritating but otherwise nice place.

Definitely recommend the Escondido Northgate Market! I ordered party platters for a birthday party. Ordered one day before event, the ladies that took my order were very polite and friendly. Pick up on day of party was easy, no hassle. All food was ready, Humberto (kitchen Manson) made sure I got everything I ordered will no problem. He could have had one of employees do it (like some other places would ) but he took care of his customer without hesitation. Everyone at the party loved the food!! Definitely going there again.

I was left disappointed because I payed 50$ for this cake. I was given instructions on going to another store to get my own Edible picture I wanted on the cake and wasted another 11$ On providing Northgate market with that. I pick up my cake and they forgot to put the picture on it. I was so upset! After I was made to buy the picture myself during my own time. Then they offered to put it on the cake last minute and they didn’t even bother to cover up the purple letters underneath. Will not be getting my cakes from here but overall cake was delicious. I wish the cake was handled how I ordered though.

Never had a bad experience here. The produce section can not be beat. Quality produce, great prices. The employees are super nice. 99% speak perfect English.They do have an extensive prepared food section with all your Mexican favorites plus some stuff you cant get anywhere else. I love the green chile chicken tamales. If you need to feed a family and your too tired to cook, get the carnitas combo deal and some salsa and dinner is ready.

I love Northgate! I can find fresh produce at a very low price compare to other grocery stores. Great variety of produce, meats and dairy. Also a large selection of sweet breads. I had 2 cakes done this month and they were delicious. Their 3 leches with strawberry mousse was awesome! They also have a area to eat, that one is not that good but the tacos are. I used to wat there after shopping with my mom and kids and we all enjoyed the food a lot. Always seems very clean. I love shopping there... I notice the bread goes bad quickly but I appreciate that because I assume is the black of lots of preservatives... my bread from walmart can go for weeks if not months before growing greeny mold. I would highly recommend this place

Pretty nice market that appeals mainly to hispanics, but enjoyed by many as well. I love Mexican food and the quality seems very good. There are some space limitations in many aisles, so variety of products suffers a bit. For instance, one brand of brick cheese, Joseph Farms. I understand it, but variety and having choices, is preferable. The food-to-go restaurant inside is quite appealing with quite a variety of choices, including ceviche. Definitely recommend!

This big, beautiful Latino grocery delight has superior quality, amazing customer service, and features an in-house hot deli with freshly cooked Latin American food that will not fail to satisfy your taste buds. The notable characteristic about this market is the Mexican and foreign-based produce and foods offered. The variety and selection featured of pan dulce, whats known in Latin America as sweet bread, is a treasure chest of fabulous and fresh, sweet goodies. Their meat deli is filled with choice meats and poultry and exceptional seafood. Their beer and liquor selection is heavy on Mexican beers and has lots if standard shelf liquors, with prices that do not disappoint. Aisles are spacious and the check-out process is organized, quick, and efficient, with young customer service employees smiling while they work, which will make your day. The price tag is one of the most reasonable in San Diego and is not hefty at all. Splurge all you want folks. It doesnt get much better than this.

Northgate is really good for authentic Mexican food. Some of which I like. Some of which I dont. They have a large selection of food already prepared which is very popular. In the grocery aisles, its great to be able to get nice authentic choices of things like Mexican cheese. Their Mexican pastries are also delish. I do think that prices on the more general groceries are a bit high though. The produce is good quality, but also tends to be a bit pricey. However, not many grocery stores sell jicama, especially pre-sliced, so love it for choices like that!

I normally shop at other big-box markets but a couple weeks ago I was near Northgate and needed some things so I stopped in... the riff Raff of this town had just stolen my bike lock and Jesus at the door not only guarded even relocated my bike to a safer locale when it became necessary. Imanyol the manager actually lent LENT me $5 to get a drink and chips... my twenties got all damaged.. I mean, what other market does that? None.. that Ive ever visited... The place is always spotless, and is very competitive on selection and price..they have made a lifeline customer out of me!PS: The meat department is incredible

Little Mexico dropped into Escondido truly a transformation experience. Ive been to Mexico 100s of times and this is it! And all the glorious tastes, smells that come with authentic Mexican foods. This is a nice supermarket mostly targeted to Hispanic customers and the onky reason I am sating that is because the main departments in this store are the Tortilleria/Bakery, the Prepare food Department and the meat Department(carniceria). Yes it also has a produce department but on this store you will only find a very small selection of non food goods as its ailes are small and dont have a lot of spacing for a lot of name brand items. Their produce and meat departments are decent and their bakery and tortilleria are great, I cant say the same for their prepare food because it may smell, look and taste good but i had really bad experiences eating their hot food and prepared seafood as I had food poisoning once and really bad diarrhea twice. Overall I do some of my shopping there but not all as I have to go to another place to always get something they dont have or dont carrie.

Decent Mexican market. All the standard food and drink items for most local stores. There are a few hard to come by items (i.e peruvian) that I was able to locate here. Cant beat some of the pricing and fresh vegetables. The meat market section is pretty big and they are quicker than most.

Its a hit or a miss. Theres a large variety of produce and meats. They have an organic section. Prices are pretty low on produce. I love their fresh tortillas. They have a lot of fresh home made products. Mexican sweet bread, tostadas, chicharrones, cheese/corn bread. The restaurant area has all classic mexican foods like tacos, burritos, tamales etc. They bake their own cakes yummy too and authentic candies. When its a miss, its bad. The produce can be priced low, but they might be rotten and you might not notice. Ive bought cheap fruits or veggies and its rotten by the next day so not even worth it. Theyre always well stocked but I hate when its withered,moldy, or squishy. Its okay customer service usually. The location isnt great. Its in that part of Escondido with bad streets and a lot of loitering. Its near the dollar tree and a good candy store. Its not my first choice to shop at.

Bad service in the kitchen! I ordered 2lbs.of birria which was given to me with little or no juice,I asked for another container with juice only and they were charging the same price as the birria itself😡thats ridiculous!I asked to speak to the mgr.and he can barley understand me😨Then he stated to me that thats how they sell it,which is a big lie,cuz Ive always bought birria there with lots of juice!He made no efforts in getting my order right,so I told him if you cant make my order right then bye bye!I will never buy birria from then ever again!

Please please please open a Northgate Market in Murrieta. The only Mexican market we have here is called Cardenas and it sucks!
