I just tried this place for the first time and got the Teriyaki Chicken. It was delicious! The soy sauce flavor isn’t very strong, it just adds a nice bit of flavor. It all seemed very real. The portion was quite large too and came with rice, some veggies and pickled cucumbers. I can’t wait to try more dishes here!

The food is delicious. Chefs are open to modifying orders. The waiters are very kind with our little guy. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. It’s clean and well kept. This has been our go to sushi place for the past 4 years. Absolutely recommend.

Quality of the rolls and sashimi has gone down over the past 2 years. I recall there being an ownership change at some point. All of the rolls, including the hand rolls, fall apart. They are difficult to pick up and eat with chopsticks. Sashimi is expensive but the portions are tiny. Their specials are overpriced.

O Sushi is an excellent restaurant to experience amazing sushi. I believe this place is family run and both times Ive been the service has been great.The sushi is amazing, and with a menu of over 80 rolls its impressive that the quality of all the food is so high. Over all of the dishes we had, I didnt have any complaints. The sushi rolls were tight and well made, all textures were great, and the hot rolls were the perfect temperature. Ill be going here regularly for sure. I had the Awesome Roll, probably one of my favorite rolls anywhere, the Baby Lobster roll, and the Renaissance roll. All of them were great. The sauces and flavors were very well mixed and prepared. The tempera shrimp is also great, very crispy and hot.

It’s so nice to find another nice Sushi spot in my neighborhood. We tried some nigiris, one sushi roll and vegetable tempura for dinner. I’m a tempura lover and tempura here definitely met my request, it’s crunchy, airy and light. I’m happy about my tempura tuna roll, surprisingly it’s rice less, it’s really good for my Keto husband. He tried and he loved it. Of course I think it was delicious too. The nigiris are good as well. I’ll definitely come back to try other rolls in the future.

I usually not leave review for the same reasons everyone has. However, this is different. I want to share my one of the worst experience for public benefit and make sure my neighborhood does not waste their money. This place used to be okay before pandemic and today my family feel sushi and udon. And we ordered a bunch of different udon and Unani Don. This is total mistake and ruined our family lunch. Unagi converted carbon coal and NOT eatable! I called up restaurant owner to request cancel this order because it was pick-up order. To my surprise, a lady owner said it is NORMAL and she even checked unagi before packed. How come? So, I sent a couple of pic for the proof and she called me back saying it seems little overcooked without a single word of sorry and she added the cook who made unagi don is currently on break and she has no idea, idea of what?!. I did not hear any word of apology till the end, she kept saying I need to contact Uber Eats to ge t refund, which boosted my anger to the fullest. I will leave a couple of pic of Unagi to your decision. Can you eat? Kimchi udon has only kimchi and MSG in it, it used to have tempura fish cake and fried tofu, etc. You will pay for 11.95 + tax for just water + kimchi + MSG + noodle. Total joke. Spicy miso ramem is mediocre, no way it costs 11.95. Only normal dish was tempura udon which is difficult to fail. The quality is still 3 out of 5 star. Overall, this restaurant is totally removed in my map and I am writing this for you and your friend + family. Simply the worst! (Same review I left in Yelp)

Worth the wait! Came in during dinner rush so we had to wait a while for our order (20 minute) which was fine, since the food turned out to be really good and worth every penny!!Staff was very nice and friendly, always gave us updates on our order and the vibe is just great here! Very fast and friendly service! I ordered the rainbow roll and spicy tuna hand roll. It all tasted delicious. My only concern is that they are using old ginger and wasabi. My wasabi looked and felt like it was left served in a fridge overnight. Other than that, I enjoyed my experience.

I went for a weekend lunch recently and when they had a special deal with 50% off of certain rolls. This was apparently a promotional deal by the new management. I tried several rolls including the Hamachi Lover roll, Mucho Spicy roll, and Deluxe Eel roll. Overall, the menu contains quite a lot of spicy flavored rolls (almost half of their tempura and fresh roll menus) and these usually include jalapenos or spicy mayo sauce. Overall, there was a good number of rolls on the menu but the variety in terms of ingredients was quite limited. I saw jalapenos, cucumber, tuna and spicy mayo show up on over a third of the rolls in the tempura and fresh roll menu sections. But this may have been only for the rolls on special 50% off menu. The rolls themselves were decent and not too spicy, but tasted very similar because of having same types of ingredients.

Solid spot with good specials! Today I got the lunch sashimi plate. My buddy got a couple different rolls with the special dine in 50% off price. He got the Tuna lover ruth jalapeno slices on top this roll is amesome!! Really really good all around! I had the salmon and tuna sashimi plate ruth a CA roll! The fish was good tasting, great color and nice and fresh! Misu soup was ok not amazing (Im a huge misu soup guy sho thats kinda a bummer but the sushi made up for it) service was cool not bad at all, the spot was kind of empty because of it being right after covid shut down. They space the tables and stuff, employees wear a mask it want bad at all.

Incredible treatment for what I thought was just going to be your run of the mill sushi spot. Wish the rice on my sushi held a little better, but more importantly, the flavor of the food is so good. I had a lemon roll and chicken curry, and the wife had the soft shell crab and miso soup, and she is picky about how the carb is cooked. According to her, it was just right.

Pathetic and horrible. We didnt even get our food and had to leave hungry. They told us a wait time of 20 mins and even after an hour we didnt get our food. And we had two kids with us. I would never recommend this place. I would give it negative stars if possible.

Great ambiance and even better service. Helen is fabulous! I highly recommend a roll with escolar. Their miso soup is delicious, they don’t skimp on the tofu. They will always have sake and Sapporo ready for you as well. I come here after every massage 1x a month at Green Massage.

We love supporting small businesses and wanted to try this place for date night. Yelp said this place closed at 9:30 pm. Google maps said it was already closed so I called to verify and the girl who answered said they closed at 9:00 pm. No mentioning that theyre not accepting anymore dine ins or if the kitchen closes. We arrived at 8:20. The waitress that greeted us said they closed at 8:30. I explained to her I just spoke to someone and they mentioned they closed at 9. She caught an attitude and didnt even bother offering an apology.Such a waste of time and drive. Dont believe whatever business hours are posted. Theres truth to the recent reviews. Service is definitely lacking here

Dont dare to ever set foot on this place; worst service weve ever experienced anywere;The sat us at table next to where they dispatch their orders to go, a single table isolated from the main dining area.They absolutely forgot we were setting there, and completely ignored us for more than 30 minutes, after which we decided to just walk out, they probable didnt even realize that we left.They are intentionally understaffed to increase their profits, at the expense of customers who have to deal with ridiculous wait times, or even be completely ignored, like how they did to us.Never going back!

O, this place was terrible -- with regard to both food and service. It sounds like it was once great but went downhill after COVID hit and it got new management.To preface: Ive never sent food back in my life, but my meal (chicken teriyaki) was awful. Terrible cut of meat with gristle in my first bite, and I dont think you can call what was on my plate rice. I think it mightve been considered porridge with how overcooked it was. I sent it back (politely, and with apologies for the inconvenience), and the server proceeded to - loudly - berate the cook in the back. The waitress did not apologize even once, and gave attitude as soon as we made it clear the meal was less than stellar.We had a party of three, and both of the others I was with hardly touched their food. One got the yakisoba and the noodles were mush...just a goopy, falling apart mess. The rolls tasted homemade, but not in a good way. In a the nori is chewy and rice is overdone way. Additionally, my miso soup came to me in a dirty bowl, and our glasses smelled like wet dog.Uncomfortably, the manager (?) of the restaurant patrolled around the entire time we were there, for no apparent reason. We felt like we were eating in prison or something. What a mood. Meanwhile, the sushi chefs in the front of the house were complaining about their jobs in Spanish.One star is generous, but unfortunately I have to give them something. I left hungry, and the others with me left disappointed and out a good chunk of change for a very poor meal / experience. Such a shame.

Nice little sushi restaurant with a good amount of seating and a bar. The menu offers items besides sushi, but thats the main product here. Staff is alright and service is pretty fair...although I know got take outI ordered a few sushi items, such as the vegetable tempura roll and cali roll. They were presented well and tasted alright.The prices here are a little higher than some other places, and this place also does that 20/30% off certain rolls..so that makes some of them an okay deal. If you plan it correctly, you can get a good amount of sushi for about $20.

Very nice decor - bummed it was mostly empty. We went at 5pm on a weekday but their happy hour does not start until 7pm...and it only is for drinks, not food. We had the Ex-Girlfriend ($13) roll, Caterpillar roll ($10) and Protein roll ($13). All were good, but they seem a little over priced for what we got. Next time I go I am going to try the $20 sashimi deal at the bottom of the menu!

Everything here is on-point.Staff is friendly. Everything Ive had is great. Udon is great, tongastu is great, and sushi is great as well. Happy hour between 3-6pm daily has a hot sake and beer combo for 4.95. Small and 6.95 for a large beer. That is a great deal that will keep me coming back.

Ive been to O Sushi and Grill a couple of times now, and its been good every time.My first visit, we came with a group from work, and I think we ate all of the sushi on the menu. One of the guys in our group seemed to have ordered everything from sashimi to rolls, they were all great. I left feeling way too full and needed a nap after pigging out like that.This time a came and got the Yellowtail roll with jalapenos. I like my food spicy, and this roll is pretty good but not too spicy. Fresh yellowtail on top with spicy tuna inside, one of my favorite combinations. I also ordered a spicy tuna hand roll and a tuna hand roll. They were also both delicious. I loved that the tuna was cut into thin strips. It made it so much easier to get a good bite.This place doesnt give the WOW factor for me to give it 5 stars. But I think its a very solid sushi spot in the area. Ill definitely be back here with it being so close to my office.

Living super close to it, this has become my familys regular spot for sushi. They make good rolls for relatively cheap. Theyve got the basic Japanese beers and anything else youd expect from a medium tier sushi joint. The only drawback is this is a place you go to get your sushi fix, not necessarily enjoy quality or authentic sushi.

Great service with smile face in front of customer in English and gossip after the customer in Korean.My review based on my experience is very horrible.My toddler son and I went there for dinner on Monday and we ordered kids meal and shushi.The two waitresses are pretty nice to you during the whole serving but they gossip on the customer in Korean near to me since nobody understood Korean.They said;1- They did not mind welcoming Chinese customer since business was slow (what’s the mean?)2- It was ridiculous that mom was feeding the boy, the boy can eat by himself hugh?3- The boy is active and walk around restaurant,see it~ see it~And always talking about my son and me since we are very near the reception counter.I admitted that my boy was very active as always and did walked around inside once with me.But he did not brother any customers there .Moreover there is only 3 tables long away from our table.Unfortunately I can speak 4 languages including Korean.what I mean I can totally understand what they saying in Korean since their voice is able to heard.what was your feeling if you were me?The restaurant is not the place employees gossip on customer and leave reviews on single customer in their own language.

Local Scripps residents should really check this place out. On Thursdays our school have early release and I usually take my two elementary aged kids for lunch and I hate doing fastfood. This place has a very large 1/2 price menu when eating in and the three of us eat for well under $20 which is not bad even compared to fast food.Additionally, the service is always great and food comes out pretty quick even on busy days. You really owe it to yourself to try this place out!

Treat yourself. I did. I had the Tempura Shrimp and it was perfect with the sauce. I had it on the side of my Sea Weed Salad which was Delicious also. And, I had the Dragon roll which was HUGE and very nice to look at and eat. I already know what I am ordering next time I go in. Udon noodles and some other salad with raw fish I saw someone eating. It looked good. Super friendly people the sound track was a little off. And please get rid of the old silk ficus out side the patio.

Reasonably priced for the quality of food. Wide range of dishes to choose from. Clean dining area and restrooms. The staff is very friendly. The service is top notch.The menu consists of typical sushi rolls (which are always 20%-30% off), specialty rolls, sashimi, bento boxes, yakisoba, udon, various salads, and a pretty big selection of appetizers. They also have various sakes, wines, and beers, in addition to the standard coke products and teas. I usually get the Macha tea. In other words, the menu can accommodate even pickiest of eaters or people that just arent in the mood for seafood.My wife and I have enjoyed eating here so much that we stop by 3-4 time a month. Its become our main go to place.

Outstanding menu and pictures. Dont give any credence to those commenting on high prices because this particular place used real crabmeat, not the fake Krabmeat (fish) found at other places. A real sushi restaurant never uses fake fish or meets it goes against why sushi came to be. The prices are fairly competitive.

Made a reservation for 18 people for my sons high school graduation last night, and on the same day for 8pm. We were 30 mins late, and they still had our tables! They were so gracious and the service was phenomenal! They even allowed us to bring in dessert from Wahine Kai from next door!The rolls and yakisoba were so good! And they celebrated with us Juniors graduation by turning off all the lights and turning the disco lights on, singing to Junior happy birthday! Lol! This is probably one of my new favorite places in Scripps Ranch to grab lunch or dinner. That used to be a different restaurant but they remodeled it and totally changed everything. It is a very nice Sushi / Asian Japanese restaurant. I usually get teriyaki chicken or some kind of sushi roll and every time that Ive gone there it has been nothing but very good food.

The food is very good.This was my second visit and I took friends.The service was lousy. Music was so loud we could not have a decent conversation. I asked to have the volume lowered,the young lady i asked went right back to what she was doing and never did turn it down.The waiter mumbled and could not be heard because of the music, nor could he hear us.After the food came and we realized there were no eating utensils.We had to ask for them because not all of us use chop sticks.After spending over 5 minutes trying to get someones attention, I got up and went to the counter to ask for eating utensilsand was ignored by no less than 3 people who looked right at me and said nothing. We finally managed to get forks. The guess the secret is to ask for tools asap so they can bring them with your food. I hate the assumption that everyone uses chop sticks.I have been a long time fan a frequent flyer at this place when it was San Sai. Im very dissatisfied withe the changes. Sumi salad is no longer served. Big disappointment!
