2023-07-15 18:30:44I relocated from Florida but I’m originally from Hawaii and Jamaica so I love dim sum and Asian food but can’t find much authentic Asian foods/grocery stores in FL. I live across the street from this place; it’s next to GW Grocery (an Asian grocery store with fruit, vegetables and fish selections that remind me of my islands). The day after I flew in, my boyfriend and I ordered a little of everything from here for breakfast. Everything was delicious. I especially missed having rice wrapped in lotus leaves but I definitely like their steam and fried buns. My eyes were bigger than my stomach the first time so I didn’t finish everything in the photo in one sitting. What we didn’t eat that morning kept well and lasted for about a week. I work from home but I often skip lunch so these are great to heat and eat between tasks. We’ve ordered delivery from here as well as gone there in person. I recommend in person ordering if you are a visual person but beware: everything looks great so you’ll end up ordering more than you intended! The staff are patient if you don’t speak their language; you can point without being misunderstood. Although there are small tables and chairs inside, it’s too small a place for staying to eat. I recommend getting what you want to go; it’s packaged “to go” anyway. Anyway, everything is delicious here so I highly recommend this place.

2023-10-25 03:22:40I came here because I was craving dim sum. And my friend had been wanting to try this place. It was interesting to have the dim sum in a display case where you basically point and order instead of having the carts. The dim sum was alright. Im not sure Id come back here to have dim sum. But it was pretty affordable so Id give it that. Did it satisfy my craving? Almost, almost. Ordered shrimp look fun (rice roll), shrimp har gau, salty egg yolk bun, pork and shrimp sweet rice sticky dumpling. I didnt order the chicken feet so Im not sure how they were. But my friends seemed to enjoy it. Dont forget the HK milk tea (:

2022-02-21 01:43:32This restaurant was called Yum Cha Cafe, which was a very poor-looking but good taste dim sum restaurant. It looks they just did a little renovation and raised the price. Based on the original price, they raised a LOT.The food is very good, even better than the most big restaurants, it sells the old fashing Cantonese dim sum.Nowadays, Dim Sum become three styles. One is Order-to-Make, which is also the best good looking and most expensive one. The second is several aunts push the carts walking inside the restaurant, you can order from them. The third one is like this restaurant, all the foods are pre-made and kept warming in the steaming pot. Clients buy the food at the counter and bring them to a table to eat. The third one is also the cheapest.(p.s. all pictures are Yum Cha Cafe)

2022-09-05 23:09:15Ocean Island dim sum offers the same products as any other dim sum place that offer push carts except less staff means the more you can save on the overall price. With that being said if you just want dim sum without the white cloth table setting and tea service then this is the place for you. You walk towards the back, look at the menu, on the bottom left of the pictured item you will see A or B. on the top right in green you will see the price for A and B… decide what you want, when its your turn they will let you know. If you are taking to go then come anytime but if you want good dim sum and a table remember early bird gets the worm!! (pssst.. 3 tables only at this restaurant)If you don’t know what to get, this is what you should try..24. Pan fried leek dumpling29. Pork and shrimp sweet rice sticky dumpling30. Sesame ball1. Ocean Island shrimp dumpling2. Siu mai pork and shrimp dumpling19. Steamed BBQ pork bun21. Steamed Chinese sausage46. Cruller wrapped rice rollIf your still hungry after all this order a wonton noodle soup and triple item BBQ rice plate!

2023-06-09 06:02:24Easy parking and convenient location. Open daily 7:30-7:30. Many selections of 1. dim sum, 2. dessert, 3. rice rolls, 4. congee, 5. beverages, 6. kitchen dishes ( noodles, BBQ foods and roasted & simmered delicacies ). Standard quality food for a takeout style restaurant. Not too salty and oily. Packages of the dim sum foods are well done. The staffs are very friendly and efficient. Accept credit cards. We don’t like the taste of Fried Taro Cake because it is not crispy at all.

2023-06-02 20:23:43I really like the Chinese tamale which is really tasty, and it reminds me my moms home cooking. However, the service was not good cuz the staffs often make you wait a long time before they will serve you. Since staffs have to serve both BBQ counter n Dim Sum counter. This store used to be Yum Cha dim sum back then the service was better. I guess the quality of dim sum is little bit better than the previous owner since steam items did not last long on the steamer so the chef made a small batch amount each time.

2022-11-03 07:18:56Great dim sum to go with Chinese BBQ options. There is no place to sit so strictly to go only, utensils and napkins are not provided. Lots of steam dim sum and fried dim sum or bakes pastries options, you can see the vast options behind the glass display. Many non Chinese speaking patrons such as Filipino, Indonesian, Mexican, Caucasian and etc... simply point to choose items that they want and they shall receive. They might be a line out the door but it moves fast like a well oil machine, so dont be discouraged. The Chinese BBQ is a lot better compared to Ranch99. The food is actually surprisingly good! Some of the items taste a lot better than dim sum from Capitol or even NBC seafood. It is located right next to GW supermarket. Parking can be tricky on the weekends. This place is always busy for a very good reason, worth getting in line.

2023-08-19 22:25:49This is the worst Chinese restaurant Ive ever been to. We had to wait 30 minutes to try to order food. And then was told to go back to the end of the line. So we left.
