If youre going to stay here, you have to be OK with a foghorn offshore beeping every 8-10 seconds the whole night. Sounds like somebodys alarm going off, and you can easily hear it even with the windows closed. Other than that, its a good place with clean big rooms and a good staff with a decent breakfast.
I have stayed here once before and it was a nice place. No issues. I did book a room for an upcoming trip at the end of September and thought nothing of it as it was confirmed.By chance, I was looking at Google maps of the area and noticed the hotel said they were temporarily closed. Went to their website where it said it was reserved for first responders.I emailed them to see if this would still be an issue at the end of September and it is apparently. However...like a previous reviewer has stated...if I hadnt seen it it on Google maps, I would have shown up and not had a room.No worries, I was able to get another room so it didnt affect my trip.My personal feelings...these climate activists that keep setting these wildfires on purpose to further that agenda...they need to be rounded up and put in a wood chipper.
Good hotel! Basic, clean, cheap… We stayed 3 nights as we explored the gorgeous redwoods and beaches of Del Norte county. We left the Do Not Disturb sign out the whole time as we normally do, and on day 2 the housekeeping staff left us a bundle of fresh towels outside the door - what a nice touch! Our room was huge and had three queen beds, perfect for our family of five. The staff was friendly and helpful in making sure we knew the best places to visit and how to get there. Not much to want for except maybe more protein options in the breakfast and better wi-fi. It’s not the Four Seasons but I give it 4.5 stars (rounded up to 5) for exceeding expectations and offering excellent value for the money.
Go to best Western plus. This place is kinda gross. Went in and took a shower while my fiancé tried to get comfortable. Carpet was gross and torn up. Bedding was stained and disgusting. Chair was sticky and looked like it had semen stains on it.TV turned off every 7 minutes for some reason. Realized we wouldnt be comfortable here and decided to go to Best Western Plus (which was way better).Clerk said no problem and issued a refund. Then charged me $60 for taking a shower after the fact.I think the owners response speaks volumes. I have money, I have a career. I didnt just attempt to rip you off for a shower. I left due to the discomfort felt by walking on dirty carpet in bare feet, the 1980s trash bedding, the semen stains on the chair, the TV that wouldnt stay on longer than 7 minutes.When I asked to leave and for a refund it was granted without a problem, then as I dropped off the room key and left the story changed and I was charged $60. I will dispute the charge and make sure you dont collect that $60 out of principle. Yall suck. Your rooms are gross and you have no class. Cresent Citys finest.I had the day I deserved upon leaving your fine establishment.
We were given a room with a very weird layout in the emergency exit corridor. Room #301. Everything in the room was very old, cleanness was average. For the AC to work, you need to call the receptionist. I think that this place was very overpriced (155 usd/night) considering the overall condition of the hotel. Breakfast is included and the breakfast area is very clean.
We were visiting Redwood NP and there arent many choices, but this one fit the bill. Prices were very reasonable, actually cheap. Hotel was better than expected for the price.What really stood out was the customer service from the front desk agent Angela. She was so good with restaurant recommendations, resolving a minor problem, and generally making sure we were doing good when she saw us that I tipped her directly before we left. Because of her, Id stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you Angela!
We loved our stay here in the 3 Queen room. It was very spacious and clean! The staff was great and told us some cool places to visit nearby. Chill place right next to a fun cove. Breakfast was simple, fresh whole fruit, soft bagels, cold cereal, oatmeal and yogurts.We ate at Toreros famosos and it was fantastic Mexican food!

We wanted to take a final trip as a family of five before our new baby came. Most hotels have a max room occupancy of four, so it has been a while since we’ve been able to do a hotel. But we really wanted to go to the beach and the redwoods for spring break. This hotel has rooms with three queen beds to accommodate families of six!! Unheard of!Our budget was tight, and if we did an Airbnb, we would have only been able to stay one night. With the price being so reasonable, we were able to stay for three nights, which was so lovely! The decor is dated, but the whole place was really meticulously clean, and I suspect that if they updated it, they would have to raise their prices. We were so thankful for this little affordable oasis.My kids were a little disappointed that they couldn’t see the ocean from the window, so I asked if it was possible to switch, and Christine and Diane went out of their way to accommodate us and let us switch rooms one night into our stay. It would have made their lives easier to tell me no, but they were very kind and obviously cared about making it a great experience. The breakfast was just fine, and we appreciated not having to go out every morning for meals.We will definitely be back anytime we need to get away to the redwoods and the beach. Even with a fourth kiddo! Thank you so!
Great place to stay good ocean view stayed here the last time we were here also people are very friendly rooms are clean Continental breakfast in the morning yogurts fresh food coffee 24 hours a day awesome place. Also fairly good view of the ocean. Theyre also pretty much in the middle of crescent City which makes it nice.
Stayed 3 nights in Jun 2023: Nice property, dated decor, but, clean. Pros: Good Parking, room was large and clean, laundry on site, employees were very nice. .... Cons: No Benches to sit on outside; no where at all if you wanted to just sit outside. Named Oceanview Inn but not one place to sit, on the ocean side of the property. We had to drive to a park to sit outside. No Trash Can outside, at all, which we found weird and inconvenient.
I only visited the lobby and sitting area which were clean and nice. My friends who started there were less impressed with the rooms but they served their purpose ad very little time was spent in them. However both said they slept well.
The only ones who let us in during a power outage due to a fire. We went to bed without lights, but lights and warm water was restored by morning.We had an adequate breakfast, considering theyve been without power for 2 days
If youve been to Crescent City California, then you know it isnt the place where youre going to find terrific luxury hotels. That said, it is a really cheap place to use as your hub if you want to travel up and down the coast and see the Redwoods. This was the first time we stayed here, and Im quite sure this is where we will stay again the next time were in Crescent City.The rooms were clean, the staff are super friendly and helpful, and the location is quite good. They do offer free breakfast, but youll end up wanting to go somewhere else for decent coffee and something to eat. There were only offering bagels and cereal when we were there.They did recommend a new place that has opened up in town called SeaQuake brewing. We ate there three times. It was really good, the service was great, and its a five-minute drive from the hotel.
Stayed at this hotel because reviews were good. Greeted by ants on our sink counter and bathroom. Sink is strangely located outside the bathroom in the main area. There was a weird stain on my sheet that looked like an old blood stain. Constant loud beeping sound that kept us up all night (not hotel’s fault but be warned). And grumpy neighbours to top it off, as while we were packing up early in the morning, our “neighbour” was pounding on the wall like an insane person. We were talking at a quiet-normal volume, it was 6am.
The rooms have paper thin walls. I heard every single word that the upstairs neighbor was saying, as well as the elevator buzzing. I wanted to switch hotel (they couldn’t move me to another room) but there was no same night availability anywhere else.
The staff and building are great, and while theres not much to the breakfast, cereal and a bagel goes pretty far.While technically they do have WiFi, dont expect to be watching anything online.The beds seriously need to be replaced though, Ill be feeling it for a week.

We stopped our trip because of a late season blizzard across the upper US. This place was an oasis in the dark “literally “ after driving in 30mpr gusts in mountains that you have never experienced and deciding with your new bride to turn around and head back south in the morning. The staff was awesome made you feel at home. Told us were the closest place to get food and they provided great shelter. Not a five star rooms but clean and good people. We will stay there again someday.
Room was spacious and clean. The three-queen room was a great fit for our family, though its laid out a little differently than we expected, and unfortunately doesnt come with an ocean view. Staying on the 1st floor was a little loud with people above us. Breakfast was adequate. Internet was very slow for what Im accustomed to. Staff was very friendly . We would stay again.
Definitely older decor but super clean! Ive been in newer nicer hotels that werent this clean. This is exactly what we need for a quick weekend trip to see the Redwoods. Staff was nice and helpful and the price was great! The pictures of this place are spot on.

Everything was standard. Nothing fancy but overall not bad. Our tv had issues and (would randomly turn off/on ever few minutes. Breakfast was weak. (Basically beagles, yogurt, and cold cereal only).Friendly, clean, and spacious.

The room is nice and big. But there is public hair on one of the towels, the refrigerator noise is running randomly. And whoever the f lives above 208 walking like a giant and the floor creaking all morning at 6 am. Like seriously fix the floor.Turn on volume.
Great location! The rooms are huge. Super friendly staff! After I checked out, the front desk lady ran to the parking lot to find me because she was notified that I forgot my cell phone charger in the room. How sweet is that! Thanks to her, I was able to continue my trip without a major hassle!
I arrived around 12:30 am finding the receptionist inattentive which is understandable due to the time of day. I enter the fairly out dated room which appeared mostly clean. I showered and went to bed around 1am. I received the first phone call around 4:30-5am thinking it must have been a mistake, the phone then rings again around 5:30-6am. I answered the phone call and it was the front desk who apparently had issues with my card. The receptionist deleted all of my information and discovered her accident during the audit. She felt it was necessary and saw no issue calling my room multiple times at an unreasonable hour. Overall very disappointed and tired having only received maybe 3-4 hours of sleep. I walked back to my room packed my belongings and left. Ive stayed in thousands of hotels across the US and most nights pay for (18-22) people each night and sure theres been issues but Ive never had the front desk call multiple times at an unreasonable hour. An incredible lack of hospitality was shown and I will sleep in a car before I stay here again.
We stayed here for four days and our stay was pleasant. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Staff are professional and helpful. Area is safe, near to ocean and quiet during night times. Everything (restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores etc) is accessible within 2 to 3 mile radius. Only suggestion i have to staff is, to consider upgrading the HVAC (AC/heater) installed in the rooms. Noise made by the heater is slightly inconvenient during night times but apart from that our overall experience is awesome.
The hotel was very clean and very quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location, close to anything you want or need to do in Crescent City but also close if you’re doing excursions into southern Oregon or the Redwoods parks in the area. Book early because they were packed every night we were there. We’re definitely using the hotel again in the future.12/14/22: We stayed here again and our experience was great. Many thanks to Christine who checked us in and was very accommodating. She helped us into the right room and was very kind and professional during the process. We stayed in a large room. The room was spacious and quiet. The decor in the hotel feels like the 80s. Kind of cute in a wired way…the breakfast was okay…. Wish they had bread and eggs. But honestly for the price they charge, I am not expecting much. Staff were nice and friendly. The location is close to the beach and everything else. Overall a great experience. Definitely recommended!
The rooms were very clean and we loved the Jacuzzi tubs! The view from the balcony was amazing, we got to see the ocean. There is a note in the front lobby talking about the fog horn every 8 seconds that was a little annoying but it was definitely worth it to stay the beds were comfortable and they did everything they could to help us stay one more night after a reservation our reservation they were very sweet people the customer service was excellent they even talked to us about possibly moving to Crescent City and job opportunities It is conveniently located by the aquarium and a restaurant I wouldnt have chosen to stay anywhere else If we go back I will definitely reserve a room here again!
Theyre charging the firefighters money for their stay!!! I get this is a business and they need to make money but to charge the firefighters and evacuees while the smith river complex is active feels like such a scummy thing to do!
The front desk lady was a delight. We were there Christmas Eve and the decor was stunning! All the Santas and snowmen and villages were so sweet. The breakfast was decent. This is a real hidden gem
I’m staying here for a few days, on my way to San Jose. Angela is soooo awesome! I appreciated her going out of her way, to show me how to walk to the lighthouse. For the price, it’s perfect: close to Jedehiah Smith Park for hiking, walking distance to the aquarium and many restaurants. I like firm beds, so I’m happy with the mattresses. Pillows are downy soft and not for me. I just added a few towels to them to firm them up. The continental breakfast is perfect. Lots of fruit options, all kinds of juice, coffee, tea, cider, hot chocolate. I plan on staying here again, on my way back to Oregon! Oh, the beverage bar is 24/7!
Clean rooms. Has a balcony. The service was nice. The rooms are meant for 1 person or a couple that gets up at the same time(for suites). The vanity and sink is in the room with no separation from sleeping quarters. Make sure to ask for xtra pillows and blankets. The pillow are subpar and quite frankly, the bed was very uncomfortable. My significant other and I both woke up with back aches. Beyond that, it was fine.

Though this seems to be one of the nicer hotels in this small town, I dont think Ill ever be staying here again. I only gave it 2 stars because the staff was so nice and helpful. After the room we booked had a leaking sprinkler, they moved us to a different room and gave us a significant discount!Now the bad :(***BRING YOUR OWN PILLOWS IF YOU STAY HERE***I dont think this hotel has replaced their old pillows since 1992. The pillows were lumpy old and tired. It made it quite hard to sleep and now my neck hurts >.< in combination with the bad pillows, the bed was hard and old as well. The sheets were blue once I think? But they are now covered in suspicious looking bleach stains all over it.You could also easily hear conversations through the wall as well. One of our neighboring rooms had their TV on most of the night watching an action movie and it was very loud.And last but not least, though technically there is a view of the ocean from the balconies here.... its not a great one. The beach is far away, and in-between are industrial looking buildings and graffiti.All in all, the staff here are amazing, but the town and the hotel look like they peaked in the 90s, and they could seriously use some renovations around here.
Super clean, attentive staff. Very clean bathrooms, laundry room, Main lobby. My room had three queen beds super spacious, way better than I had expected. I plan on returning. Pretty cool they are right next door to Ocean world. They might need a few more carts for hauling luggage.

Friendly staff. Dated but clean hotel with nautical decor. Buffet breakfast was basic Continental with oatmeal. Our travel plans were delayed and we had to cancel our first night. Angela allowed us to cancel first night without penalty. We felt as if she treated us as family. Spacious rooms.
Our 2 day stay at Ocean View over Christmas was perfect. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious and very well maintained. We will be returning.
A fortuitous find when looking for a place to stay on a brief vacation. Our room was great! A view, a fireplace, a hot tub - what more did we need? The staff was always helpful and friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We were more than pleased with our decision to stay here and the fact that it was within easy reach of the places we wanted to see. We would highly recommend the Ocean View Inn.
Super friendly staff, everything was working wonderfully(toilets, sinks, etc), clean rooms, affordable and so accommodating. Absolutely love this and I have no complaints! There is a fog horn you can hear but honestly it’s was so faint you don’t hear it in the day and at night is was faint and honestly soothing to hear however they offer rooms away so it’s harder to hear. Very spacious rooms, The beds were comfortable, the carpets were clean, and the quality of the hotel is better than the other two I had seen and stayed at in town. Will only stay here for my vacations
Stayed for 2 nights. I gave 2 stars because all of the employees were extremely nice and very helpful. But thats about all the positive things I can say. The beds were very uncomfortable. The room smelled weird. The walls were SUPER thin - we could hear literal conversations from the next room. The building is really old, and it shows its age everywhere. The furniture and appliances were all very outdated. They were also not serving a continental breakfast because of COVID which I think is not a great excuse anymore since all mandates have been lifted. I really dont mind staying in older hotels, but they should not charge as much as they do for the quality you get.
Despite this hotel being recommended by a few sites as one of the better ones in this city and reading a lot of good Google reviews, I unfortunately really disliked it. I will say I agree that they do have very friendly staff though hence the 2 stars and not 1. The hotel itself was very outdated, the walls were paper thin and it didn’t feel clean. I didn’t see anything super dirty but it just had a dingy old look, pealing wallpaper and strange smell. They gave us a room by the elevator and I could hear it all night long going up and down and people going in and out of it and talking. You can hear every single step the people above you take, what people say in the rooms around you or in the hall. I could hear people laughing loudly from the lobby despite being up on the second floor. There is also a fog horn that beeps every few seconds that you can hear, this isn’t the hotel’s fault but it’s something to note. I paid extra for a balcony expecting an ocean view (at the Ocean View Inn…) and all I could see were trees and part of a marina. Also paid more for a fireplace expecting gas but it was actually a light up fake fire that blew hot burnt dust air out of it. The wifi was very slow on my phone. The bed was hard with 3 flat pillows and blankets that looked like they were from the 80s. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
The rooms were huge. Laundy machines were good to have. Check-in was good! However, there are multiple signs that refer to theft of items in vehicles/bikes which immediately made us feel a bit uneasy as we had so much stuff in our car (on a road trip), so much so that we unpacked every single thing. Maybe a bit excessive but even the lady at check-in said it was probably best. It was just such a hassle. Maybe it was the location and we didnt do enough research beforehand, but just be prepared that it isnt in the best area.

The Ocean View inn was great. We went in without a reservation and were offered an ocean view room that was a double occupancy room, and it was charged at the single king price. We were even offered a military discount. They are very friendly, clean, spacious. The beds were very comfortable. We have been on the road for several days now and a great place to sleep for the night was priceless. Remember to always be happy, mindful, and the best you.
This place is great! Had to make some super last minute adjustments and they were very accommodating. Both women I interacted with were very kind and quick to help. The room was spacious and very clean, could still smell the cleaner it was so clean lol the view from our room was beautiful overlooking the bay. I personally love being so close to the ocean that I can hear the waves and the fog horn. Very convenient location right off the 101 and RIGHT next to Sea World, which is nice because our kids like going there. Definitely recommend and we will be staying here again!!
I wish I could give a 6 star review.When we arrived we were greeted by Cory who was super friendly and helpful.When we saw how nice the room was we decided to stay an extra day. Cory quickly confirmed that the room was available and booked it.The next morning my motorcycle wouldnt start so we had to make arrangements to get the bike to a dealer in Eureka and then get back on the road..Cory went out of her way to help us out of our bit of a crisis. She drove Sandy to the airport to rent a car and cancelled the second night stay even though we were past the cut off time. In our haste to pack up I forgot a couple of items. Upon discovering the items in the room they called us and made arrangements to ship them to our home.Bottom line, the facilities are first rate, the room outstanding and the staff well beyond the highest standards of excellence.
The service of this establishment was wonderful. Christine helped me on the phone and then we met her in person she was just as kind as could be. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable. The furniture was nice the bed was comfortable nice amenities. We very much enjoyed our stay and we will not hesitate to stay here again looking forward to our next trip. If any of the staff are reading this we thank you for your attention to detail and your cleanliness and friendliness.

But for one night that’s ok. If I was there for an extended stay I’d have wanted a view. Very handy location right next to a good fish n chip restaurant that does takeaway.
We booked online three weeks ahead for our anniversary. The pictures of the room we booked had one queen bed with a decent size jacuzzi in the room. It was not just a bathtub with bubbles in the bathroom. Our confirmation email described the room as a queen with jacuzzi. We even called to verify the description of our room with the front desk. We arrived and were shocked when our room was a double queen with no jacuzzi! It had a bathtub with bubbles in the bathroom. We went to the front desk and showed her the pictures of the room we reserved and that our room was wrong. She said Yeah, we only have four of the rooms you wanted and we already have guests in them. We told management to fix the pictures on expedia and they havent. Sorry. Let me remind you we booked three weeks in advance and confirmed over phone the room. We were than told by the front desk to cancle the room online through expedia and the hotel would confirm the problem to the expedia, so we could get a refund. Well the hotel told expedia that we didnt understand what we were booking and our refund was denied!The front desk was unapologetic and denied complete responsibility for thier negligence. Terrible customer service and it feels like I was conned, because you could tell this was a recurring problem. We ended up staying at a different hotel and was charged.
It was me, my 2 kids & my hubby we loved the ladies at the service desk especially when we arrived Friday she told us great spots to go for the redwood parks due to my daughter having a project on redwood national park we enjoyed our weekend there really peaceful at nigh the price for the room is not that bad u really cant find hotels or great service desk ladies like this any more so i was really happy to book with this hotel & hopefully we can get up there again

The only pro were really nice employees.I stayed there for two nights.There was a empty beer can, trash under the bed, and some hair ties in there from the previous Tennant.You could nearly pull the exterior handle off our door.I had to use a Hotspot on my phone because the wifi was so slow.I was expecting a normal breakfast with eggs.It was just some bagels sitting in a Tupperware container and some cereal. There was no body was or conditioner in the room, only shampoo.There was frequent tweaker foot traffic right behind our room. It was very loud and distracting at night when they screamed at themselves all night.I thought I was going to have a great view of the bay, I had a view of the street behind us, a large undeveloped lot and a small view of the bay off in the distance, misleading room title.The ac drained right on the balcony so it was always wet out there. Im pretty sure the walls are made of paper, you could hear everything going on around you.If you need to have a quick stay overnight on your way to somewhere else, its probably fine. But we used this as our hotel for a vacation on the coast and were very disappointed.
Loved our stay here! The rooms are large and spacious and the view was beautiful! They do warn you if you’re on the ocean side you can hear the harbor fog horn but it’s just a quiet beeping nothing intrusive. For an impulse stop I really loved this place.
Positive: The place was slightly older, but keep up very well. Manager and staff was wonderful, and our stay there we enjoyed. We would go back for sure to stay there! Highly recommend!

Definitely recommend this as an option in Crescent City. The staff are friendly and helpful, it seems peaceful, and the rooms are nice spacious and clean. Clean smelling, that’s something important to me. It’s better than other options I’ve tried in town.
I got what I expected from an inexpensive hotel. The rooms were clean, but the furniture was old and a little shabby. The bed was not very comfortable. It was fine for a one night stay passing through town. The front desk staff were very helpful.

I’m not talking about the persistent fog horn that sounds every few seconds (which you can’t fault the hotel for), but the fact that the building creaks and groans at every foot step, and thin walls that do not stop any sounds from your fellow guests at all.Staff was friendly and efficient.
Room had electric issues,,,overhead lights switched from lo med to. Full ....TV would go out then back on taking 3 mins to return...coffee tray in room had no sugar..cost cut measure desk said.....one shampoo in shower...coffee available 24...7 is freeze dried instant...there were other issues which I wrote down and .. and explained to front desk and left the list with them...save 30 bucks and stay at motel 6 they never responded to anything
More of a 3.5 than a 4 but rounding up since we cant do half stars on Google. Overall, I feel like the rooms are very dated and needs a major refresh. If you are looking for accommodations with a fresh modern look this isnt it. However, I personally thought everything was working well. The beds were firm enough. Only complaint is the pillow felt very soft and cheap. There is also a fog horn during some of the nights we stayed. Not sure what can be done since we heard it when driving though the town at night. Maybe if you find it hard to sleep. Find something more inland.
They had phenomenal service and were over the top! The staff was very helpful by going out of their way to accommodate us. Our room was very clean and comfortable with lots of room to move around. We would totally stay there again and encourage others to do the same! It was worth the money! We are giving 5 stars!!!

We stay here every time we visit Crescent City and will continue to stay here as long as they keep doing what they’re doing! The staff is always friendly and helpful, the rooms are always spotless and well-stocked, the lobby is clean and welcoming, and the ocean view rooms have the best views! We love the location, the price and the overall experience. Absolutely recommend this spot!!

This isnt the Ritz Carlton but if youre looking for that then you probably wouldnt be visiting Crescent City.Giving this place 5 stars because it goes beyond the price tag. The rooms are huge. Everything is old but its clean! The location is awesome, you can get to the ocean, the forest, or even Oregon in less than half an hour. Theres a fog horn and a seal colony nearby so bring earplugs for sleeping. What really made this place above and beyond though was the front desk staff. They were AWESOME. If you come here youll be lucky to be greeted by Angela who knows everything worth knowing about the area and will also treat you with warm kindness. I would stay here again. Ill probably get the room with the hot tub next time.
Staff was friendly when we arrived considering the whole town was out of power. They didnt have a backup generator. No discount was offered for any inconvenience. Bed was very hard. Room was small. No kind of breakfast was offered. Not a convenient walk to the beach. Plastic chairs and plastic table on balcony. I guess I expected a bit more at $114 a night. Not a hotel I will be returning to.
Great experience, rooms were clean, staff was wonderful and accommodating. The breakfast was pretty basic, bagels, yogurt,cereal, coffee, juice and fruit. Understandable as they just started the breakfast up again.
Some view. Right on hwy. Lobby is beautiful but breakfast is cold and minimal. Rooms are ok but wiring is bad. We had a dark bathroom.
Our room was clean and nicely air conditioned. We had a nice view of the ocean from our room. Breakfast was decent (bagels, yogurt, fruit, cereal) and staff was friendly.
Great location. Very pleasant front desk attendant. Exceeded our expectations. Jacuzzi tub with balcony and fireplace made this stay exceptional. A few down sides to mention. Floor is fully carpeted so getting out of the jacuzzi tub was awkward stepping directly on to carpet. Also, there was a family staying on the floor above us so there were children crying and running above us most of our stay which at times sounded like a stampede and ended up waking us up in the middle of the night a couple times. I brought a white noise machine which helped but to keep children on upper floors of most expensive romantic jacuzzi rooms seemed unwise. Bed was comfortable. Water was hot. Rooms felt clean. Money well spent.

Front staff was very nice. The room seemed clean until we encountered a few cockroaches the next morning, we notified the front desk and were assured we would be charged a reduced fee. We where good with that, but instead we where change a 150$ cleaning fee. Never will stay there again. Bummer cause the jacuzzi tub was nice. EDIT Now we are being accused of smoking. The manager is rude and unhelpful.
Crescent City isnt know for upscale accommodations. Its a low-key town with the majesty of the Redwood Forest and Pacific Ocean providing the reason to visit. So we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and luxury of the Ocean View Inn. Lovely old colonial building a few hundred yards from the water with lovely views. Right on Hwy 101 but set back far enough to not hear traffic. A subtle fog horn not far off added coastal character. Just minutes away from Jedidiah Smith State Park, so we were able to visit with the camping contingent of our family but return to a firm king bed in a large room with the most comfortable soft leather sofa Ive ever sat upon. I want to take that sofa home with me! Clean, quiet, helpful and professional staff, this hotel is probably the best place to stay in the area, and the prices arent much more than the most basic motels.
Facilities were adequate. Desk clerk was helpful and professional on check in. The hallway to our room (no smoking hall) REEKED of cigarette smoke several times during our stay. At one point the smell started coming through the fan into our room. The last morning of our stay the shower/toilet room lights went out in the middle of a shower and water temp was fluctuating. When I brought this to the clerks attention at checkout she was defensive since we hadnt called to give them the chance to fix it. Said the outlet button by the sink in the main room just needed to be pressed and acted as if that was a normal thing and surprised we didnt know that. Hadnt really felt like calling somebody to come in our room to fix anything during the middle of showering, dressing etc. There was no way for me to know they have issues with the breaker tripping and couldve told me how to fix it myself. I wasnt so upset about it happening as I was with her attitude about it. Probably wont stay there again. Initially chose that place for the amenities but when I arrived learned they arent offering things like breakfast because Covid. Funny how some like to use that excuse but others have reinstated the option. I did like that they had a room with 3 queen beds. Worked great for our situation.
Nice big rooms, very clean for an older property. No breakfast still from covid. Price is good. Very very busy on a Saturday night. Beds are OK. No one slept well. But great location to explore the redwoods
Great location. Everything is walkable. The hotel is basic and ground floor is no view but there are big windows facing ocean. There was no breakfast or room cleaning during stay. You can ask for fresh towels. Overall great basic motel.
We had a 2 bedroom suite and both rooms were huge! The rooms are very nice and clean. The beds were a bit too firm for me but you can’t please everyone. Staff was also very friendly. We liked it so much that when we checked out, we made a reservation for next summer.

Am going to have to ask for extra pillows. The jacuzzi tub is amazing! Great room. Due to covid....no continental breakfast, but also no free upgrades or suggestions to replace this amenity. Overall it has been a great place to spend my birthday
Keep in mind this place is old-world. Its not going to look like a Wyndham built 3 months ago. Lots of sailboat decor. Suite was big and clean and very reasonably priced. Staff was nice. Would stay again.
The guy that checked our family in, AWESOME - I cant remember his name, but he was super efficient and had everything ready to go for us. I mean it, our keys were ready when we got there and we only had to give him a little bit of information. BEST Service I have had from a hotel in a long time.You do have to be aware that there is a beeping from the lighthouse that can be heard regardless of the room that you are in. I heard it all night - but I think that everyone in Crescent City can hear it. Just turn on your TV and you will be fine. Comfy Stay - a little sad that they did not have a hot breakfast or even a grab and go option since the hotel lists it as one, but they were accommodating and friendly.

The staff was delightful, accomodations spacious and clean and there is a laundry facility where I was able to clean my travelwear very inexpensively. Ample breakfast choices. I was happy and refreshed when I left!
Remember what hotels looked like in 1994 when the world used Netscape, Nancy Kerrigan got her knees cracked, and gas was $1 a gallon? Well thats what this hotel looks like.Dont get me wrong, its clean, friendly, affordable - but the decor hasnt been updated since the 90s and so its like walking into a time capsule. Wallpaper accents, floral pattern comforters, its amazeballs. They also have this weird board display that is equal parts creepy AF and adorably nostalgic.
A tough deal for our stay here. First, no breakfast which is understandable due to covid. We were given an accessible room which was spacious but we quickly noticed sugar ants on the sink counter. We dealt with the ones we saw and hoped for the best. Later saw more and alerted the front desk and asked for a different room for the next night. Staff was understanding and not overly defensive but stated they were full and couldn’t move us to another room. They could refund us and we could look for other accommodations or housekeeping could come and wipe everything down. Rock and a hard place for both us and the hotel. The housekeeper came and turned down the room and the ants remained.Additionally the walls and ceilings/floors are thin. The folks above us thought nothing of their child running back and forth across the length of their room until after 10pm which was like a freight train for us. Be aware. Without ants, would have been maybe 3.5 stars. 3.5 if they would have moved us when requested.Not a bad location, walked through large park to watch sunset. 15 minute walk to the lighthouse area.
We loved the Ocean view inn, in Crescent city CA. The rooms were very big, and well cleaned. The beds were a bit firm to our liking, but sleep well none the less. The view of the ocean from our room was spectacular, and easy access to the 101. Everything close to the location, Redwoods, all 3 state parks easy drive, and all Crescent city beaches very close. Cute and beautiful hotel, would highly recommend. Will stay again.
My daughter was moving and we stopped in here for one night. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was not served because of COVID-19, but overall the cleanliness and overall atmosphere did make for an enjoyable stay. NOTE: We stayed back in July so the breakfast situation may have changed.

Overall a good experience. Staff was helpful, the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were well kept. We had a room with a view which was a nice bonus in the morning. Only complaint was that the walls were so thin we could hear the entire late night conversation happening behind us. Didnt try the breakfast but it looked pretty good! Laundry machines on site too.

Our room had a bathroom door that did not shut properly, or lock? Also, I cannot remember the last time we stayed at a hotel or motel that didnt have some form of an exercise room. Not a huge deal, just a peeve of mine.
It’s an okay accommodation for the price. The rooms were clean and the water was hot. Some people in my party didn’t sleep very well on the beds. I would recommend to management that their hotel could get an easy facelift from simply getting modern bedding! The old comforters are very last century and make the rooms seem dated, along with the wallpaper. There was also a strange smell in the hotel room that was hard to dismiss. Rooms were very spacious, I loved the long vanity. Made it easy for everyone to get ready. The refrigerator and microwave were a plus. I will also note that their elevator inspection was expired, not sure if that’s on them or the state. The breakfast was good but I would recommend getting some sort of case for the food - seems unsanitary for everyone to reach into a bag of bagels. Coffee was delicious!
Very clean, the instant we checked in and walked into our room it smelled fresh, and I have a very sensitive nose so I usually catch even the slightest odors. We stayed 4 nights, and the staff was very helpful, and willing to go the extra mile for their guests. We are early risers, and breakfast starts at 6, but we were surprised to find breakfast was out a little early to cater to early birds such as ourselves. Just one of the many good things about our stay. Overall I was very impressed and would not hesitate to stay again.
Beautiful hotel. We checked in late and Ryan, at the front desk, had everything ready before I arrived. I spent less than 2 minutes at the front desk checking in. He was friendly and helpful... Just what we needed after a long day!The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Parking lot is well lit. Breakfast was still closed due to covid.
Fantastic location near the ocean, with easy access to downtown restaurants. Was mildly disappointed in not getting a seaside room as I was pretty sure I had selected the option while booking one online. But staff were great and the rooms were nice all the same, and the overall cost was more than reasonable.
When we got there it’s was late and took forever to check in . The room looked nice but it was dirty with weird stains on the floor and wall. There were bugs all over the room and the foghorn was horrible. And the worst part is that the room was haunted. We put a shoe on the bathroom door to keep it open then the shoe move 7 inches from the door by itself and things were being push off the counters and we heard rumbling noises coming from the desk.
Clean, cozy, affordable, great views and good rooms. Plus, and this really is the most important part: their rooms are actually clean. If youre traveling the 101 and need to stop for the night or even want to explore the beach and city for a day, spend the few extra bucks over the Motel 6 or whatever else and stay here. You wont regret it.
It was an amazing stay. One pointer though if you know its going to be windy like Gale force winds. Ask to move to a room in the middle of the hotel lol other than that rooms are clean maid service is awesome!! Jacuzzi rooms are awesome
Clean, tidy accommodations for a reasonable rate. Located just out of the main part of town along a strip of highwayside hotels, not a lot to walk to but the Redwood Market in the Chevron across the street was pretty decent, as far as gas station markets go.Dining area and breakfast were still closed when I stayed late June 2021, hopefully they can get that going again soon. Overall Id certainly stay here again.
Nice clean hotel with very friendly staff! We had a hot tub in the room and that was just perfect and very relaxing after our long hikes! There was also an electric fireplace that made a room warm and cozy.The breakfast is continental (boiled eggs, oatmeal, bread, cream cheese, yogurts and some fruits) and that was convenient.We really enjoyed our stay.
Great location, literally 2 minutes to The Best food and beer at Seaquake Brewery! Accommodating staff, large clean rooms. Road noise stops around 9:30-10:00pm. We didnt get an ocean side room but still very much enjoyed our stay!
Very clean, nice rooms (could use another pillow or two), beautiful lobby, right near a beach area & Marina and walking distance to a awesome restaurant. If you ask the attendant theyre will direct you to that restaurant.
Stay away if concerned about Covid. Now, let me say that these are really nice folk at this hotel. They are really helpful, polite, and work hard. However, their mask behavior is really non-compliant. This is an enclosed facility with no outside ventilation. Masks were not worn by staff while openly coughing throughout the lobby. Housekeeping staff does NOT wear a mask in the room. You will find a decent room with lovely staff. Just know what they are really doing vs. what they say they do.
Location and rates were the best of all hotels and motels on Hwy., 101 during Fourth of July weekend. The rooms were large, comfortable and very, very clean! We spent 5 nights and all the staff were polite and courteous. Housekeeping staff were exceptional...always a smile and ready to assist at anytime of day. The continental breakfast was very good with a large assortment of breakfast items. Laundry facility was immaculate. Ive stayed in Crescent City numerous times for business and vacation and this is the only place I will stay from now on. You wont be sorry!! Kudos to Christine and her wonderful staff....highly recommend!

My family and I (7 of us total) mostly stayed in hotels with multiple rooms on a vacation road trip. This was, by far, the best hotel at which we stayed. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, the location was awesome, and the staff was friendly and professional. The only drawback was the lack of breakfast, but that was due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control (thanks for that, COVID). Some reviewers have commented on the fog horn but it wasn’t easy to hear in the rooms with the windows shut at all. The location of this city made the weather while we were there a welcome relief from some of the temperatures we dealt with on our trip. It was cloudy and foggy for the two days that we were there and made it feel like a fall day at the end of July. I look forward to returning to this city and this hotel again, for a longer stay than just one night.

Newer motel, excellent value. Our 2 queen room was huge, included a nice easy chair and a desk. Toilet and shower/tub all new and clean in separate room from sink/counter area, excellent set up for families. Carpet and bedding in excellent condition. Great complimentary breakfast and friendly/helpful staff. We will be back!

Hotel is fine! We needed a place to sleep while driving down the pacific coast highway, and this does the trick. If you’re wanting a week long getaway, I wouldn’t, but that’s just me. Very outdated, but great for what we needed it for. Be aware there is a fog horn on the water that toots every 8 seconds (that’s not an exaggeration haha). So bring a sound machine or fan!

The room was a 3 queen bed suite at the end of the building on the first floor. The size was perfect for our family and the price was decent.Why the 3 stars? The beds are absolutely horrible and hard. The bedding is old, outdated, stained, and has holes. The pillows are way too soft they just flatten out. Our bathroom wasnt very clean ( there were at least 4 pieces of hair in different spots of the shower and debris on the floor.)They have a parking lot and parking is free.They have a breakfast included in the price of the room. Its not fantastic, but adequate. Options include donuts, muffins, bagels, toast, eggo waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, 3 kinds of cereal, oat meal packets, juice, milk, coffee, tea, and fresh fruit (apples and bananas).Non smoking rooms.

Price was great - $125 on Fourth of July weekend. Room layout, check. Bathroom and shower, great. Staff, very nice. Beds - aahhhhhhouch! Rock hard and only one pillow, which gave me problems. Also very noisy bc of the very thin walls. Ocean view meant a glimpse of the bay from one side of the window. But hey, the window opened. CHECK! And we were generally comfortable. For this town, that says something!
Even with all things COVID, the staff was spectacular. Warned us if the pros/cons of local tourist traps. Where to eat, where to enjoy the ocean. I cannot wait to return. The night staff was so helpful to point out the best food and tell us best picture spots for sundown ocean shots. Looking forward to seeing and staying again! We stayed at this hotel because our other hotel only booked half of our trip so we had to find a place quickly. Oceanview was there to help. Angela was who help and she is probably one of the friendliest people ever. They were able to check us in at 1030 am which is normally not easy to do. They will have you wear a mask inside the lobby or anywhere other than your room, which is expected right now with everything going on. Breakfast lobby is not open right now either. Our room was BEAUTIFUL. We had jacuzzi fireplace room. The beds are hard but comfy. Jaccuzi is huge. The balcony was awesome with an amazing view of the ocean and beach ( not really walking distance though). The ladies that work there always remembered who you were walking in and out and always opened the floor for anything we needed. A+ hotel!
This place was horrible! Our room smelled like old lotion so badly it was nauseating. The room had mismatched furniture, which would be fine if it didn’t look like it was bought from a nearby garage sale. Everything looked so old and dingy. I barely wanted to touch anything, much less sleep in the bed. Oh there’s also a fog horn nearby that goes off every 8 seconds of every day so if you’re a light sleeper, it will probably bother you. But the icing on the cake for us was the cockroach scurrying down the hallway the morning we checked out. If you’re in the area, pass on this place. Just sleep in your car, which is what I wish we had done.
The staff was very friendly and the hotel was nice, including the rooms. They have tea, coffee, and hot chocolate available all day, which was pleasant. The rooms were comfortable, and nice. The breakfast muffins were really good, although I wish they had more savory breakfast items besides bagels, everything else was sweet; muffins, cereal, pancakes, fruit, oatmeal, fruit juices, etc. Other than that it was very nice.
It was excellent. My family and I enjoy the restaurant. The seafood is excellent. Have not been disappointed. Great service. Beautiful view of the ocean.

We loved the price, view and in room jacuzzi hot tubs they offer here!! Staff was very friendly and everything was very very clean! The nautical theme throughout the lobby was awesome and they had coffee, tea and hot cocoa for guests all day long as well as a nice Continental breakfast. Will definitely be back!!!

Excellent value for the money and very friendly, helpful staff. We called at the last minute and got a room the same day after traveling through the area and needing a place to stop for the night. Bed was comfy and the room was very large. Breakfast went beyond the normal Continental options and was great! The friendly attitudes of the staff alone are reason enough to choose this hotel over any others in the area.
Terrible experience. Person behind the desk was rude. Asked about local breweries, were told there were three and to Google them! Ants in the room. Not just ours, but such a problem in the hotel, that you have to ask for sugar for your coffee at front desk! Would not stay here again

Pleasant stay in a generously sized room with all the basics overlooking the quieter shore of the ocean and the Battery Point lighthouse. The soundproofing between floors isnt great but at least I wasnt bothered by the foghorn sounding every 8 seconds thanks to the almost sound proof exterior. (Ask for a room on the highway side if the foghorn bleep bothers you.) Close to the Good Harvest Cafe and other good places to eat. Continental breakfast was underwhelming but free, so whos complaining?
I very rarely stay in hotels, but this place was pretty great. In room Jacuzzi was nice, carpet was clean, location very convenient. Breakfast downstairs was decent, just lacking in protein, like most places its all carbs. Still, convenient place to stay along the coast, and the staff very generously let us park our bikes under the entrance awning.
Regarding the television options. If you press the Guide button on the control box, nothing happens. If you press the channel Up or Down button, nothing happens. You must enter the channel number by individual digits. Upon realizing that there were only about 5 channels, I went to the front desk, described my experience with the control box, and asked how many cable stations they actually had and were there indeed, only 5 ????? The lady politely, apologetically verified that there werent many. So, just in case you are accustomed to watching something possibly interesting on TV besides the Hallmark channel and fox news, you might want to reconsider staying here. Tonight is Friday Dec. 17, 2021. I wouldnt stay here again.
Keep in mind that crescent city is not Luxurious. This hotel is better than many other options in town but the rooms are not four star. There are rooms that face the bay over a field and a road so it is not on the beach. The lobby is nice and the person at the desk was polite and helpful. The parking lot is nice as well and you will close to restaurants and ocean world as well as a convenient stores. The rates are typical for the area.
In-room jacuzzi! Beautiful gas fire place with flames! Very clean, with hypo-allergenic towels and sheets. Large rooms (mine had a balcony overlooking the bay). Elevator. Love this place!!Continental breakfast with boiled eggs, fresh fruit, bagels and toast, eggos, cold cereal, instant oatmeal packets and juice. 11:00 AM check-out.
The sheets were dirty and had not been changed (we got more from the maids closet and changed them ourselves)--tables were dusty and dirty, chairs stained, blankets had holes in them, carpets not vacuumed, bathroom floor dirty along with the toilet. Disgusting and no excuses!! So glad we brought our own cleaning supplies! We would have left, but no other vacancies. Never mind the rest, because it was a total turnoff to be exposed to Fox News during breakfast hours--put on a neutral program or music--dont expose your politics to everyone. We saw several people leave the breakfast area for the same reason. You should not have to gag your breakfast down while listening to a bunch of lies. We will NOT be back, ever!
My family and I loves staying here. The people working were very nice and helpful. Be aware though if you go to check in during summer hours, its different than what if listed on the website. Our room was very clean and no issues.
Good location in town, if visiting Redwoods Parks. Theres a foghorn 24/7 every 8 seconds, but I got used to it after one day. Beds are comfortable, blankets seemed old and out of repair. Old and in need of either renovation or deep cleaning. No breakfast because of COVID-19.
You know, this place isnt exactly luxe, but it has everything you need to have a nice stay near the redwoods. The room we stayed in was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the employees were all lovely and kind. My only complaint is the foghorn. Crescent City has a foghorn that goes off every ten seconds. Day and night. I might be a bit of a brat, but I just couldnt sleep through it. I know nothing about boats and lighthouses, but I have to wonder why we all have to be subjected to this persistent, tortuous sound when GPS exists and there is no fog present whatsoever. I dont hold this over the fine folk at Ocean View, its totally not their fault. But it is definitely something that affects the likelihood of me ever coming back.
The staff at this hotel was great. So kind and helpful. The rooms were nice and we even had an ocean view.
We stayed here for 3 nights, leaving this morning, and we really enjoyed this hotel. It was clean, the rooms were up to date, and the staff were friendly. I think my only complaint is our last night. Someone was smoking out back just below our room and it was blowing in, so we had to close up and not enjoy the sea breeze. Other than that we would stay here again.

Excellent hotel. Looks like a lot of care was put in this hotel. Rooms are very large. Price is reasonable. Service is friendly. Breakfast is good for the price (free). Rooms are clean. Wifi is reasonably fast. There is nothing to complain about. Would stay here again on future visits.
A beautiful hotel on the beautiful California coast. It’s got good breakfast, nice large rooms, and it is close to the city making everything easy to get to. One thing that might bother some light sleepers is that there is a fog horn that beeps and you can especially hear it at night, the fog horn has nothing to do with the hotel it is from the marina right next to it. Overall it’s an amazing hotel. I will definitely be returning.

Rooms were clean. Thats about it. We had a room right next to the elevator and above the lobby. All we heard all night and morning was the elevator and people in the lobby. Breakfast wasnt anything special. Your typical cereal breakfast. Ocean view was more like a peak of the harbor through a field and trees.
This hotel was amazing. Of all of the hotels in Crescent City, choose this one. Stop looking now and book here. That is what we did and we are glad we did. There isnt a hot breakfast, but they did have Einstein bagels and donuts among other things. The rooms are really huge with a sofa in them too! We loved our time here. Our a/c didnt work the greatest, but thankfully it was a cool night and the windows open for a bit helped cool us down. We ate down at Fishermans and grabbed a Redwood tree from Walgreens to grow back home as a sovenier. Great hotel. Highly recommend it.
We thought to stop here for a few days and ended up staying for 10 nights. The staff were accommodating by putting us on the top floor in the back away from all elevators and noise. Our room was clean, large, quiet and had a beautiful view of the harbor through a large window that we could open for fresh air. I would take away half a star for slow wifi and no hot food for breakfast, but these were minor issues for us. Right across the street is an awesome Mexican restaurant and just up the road is a Chinese restaurant. Crescent City has everything you could want in a small area...beach, bluffs, rocky shores, redwoods, history and friendly people. Make sure you stop at the visitors center when you get to town.
I had stayed here several times. Once on first floor; one time on second floor, tonight in a room on the third floor. I am happy 😊 with all three rooms thus far. Felicia the front desk clerk very couteous and helpful as it applies to essentials for the room. I had needed an extra trash 🗑 bag and she assisted me right away. It helped me sort out a few items. Plenty of hot water for my facial shave and shower 🚿. 😀
This is a wonderful place to stay at the coast. Clean, reasonably priced even during tourist season. Easy to find and close to the ocean. Wonderful view from the second floor. Angela the desk clerk is warm and friendly, very helpful.
The rooms are very clean and fairly comfortable, though the decor is outdated. When we arrived, we were disappointed that we were told we could not check in early at 10 (normal check in is 2), even though we had requested an early check-in for our week stay since my husband had to go to work straight after we arrived, leaving me to find something to do for four hours. The 40s-50s age female receptionist was rude and not interested in helping us at all, although the rest of the staff has been great. The continental breakfast has a large variety of items but disappointingly, all of them except the hardboiled eggs contain high carbs, so I cant eat anything except eggs on my low carb diet.
We stayed from a Wednesday to the next Tuesday and really enjoyed our visit. The trip there ended up taking more time because of road construction but when we called to find out if there would be an extra fee or anything they were very kind and said that as long as we had a reservation that there wouldnt be a problem. They also lowered our rate when we got there which was very nice. The photos dont really do it justice. It is very well kept, very clean and everyone if friendly and helpful. It is also well located for the trails, beach and anything else you may want to do. I highly recommend staying here if you find yourself in Cresent City.
A strong maritime theme all around in this place. Murals on the foyer walls, 24/7 coffee area, very good service and cosy rooms. A pity we only stayed one night.Also, for those sensitive sleepers, bring ear plugs or similar because the seals in the nearby (aquarium?) will have you up real early. And if those dont bother you, theres always the possibility that the electronic beacon that goes off every 10 seconds from somewhere nearby, definitely will.
This is our familys favorite place to stay in Crescent City. The kids love the boats in the lobby and the redwoods mural. Everything was very clean and they have comfortable beds.
Very quiet and clean. Couldnt see the ocean from our room but it was still a nice place to stay. The woman at the front desk was very sweet and helpful!
Very nice motel I have never stayed here but it seems to be very nice from what Ive seen from the outside nice little location right there right on highway 101 so you really cant miss it coming into town from the south.

There is a serious pillow situation here. what they consider pillows i consider dog beds @ beat. price was right. roo.s were real big that was nice, and the woman @ front desk about 10pm on wed Oct 20th 2021 was really nice.
Rooms are huge. We got a 3 queen room, super spacious. It was super clean, housekeepers did awesome. Front desk was friendly and your right next to the beach. The mexican restaurant across street was super good. Will come back again
We had never been to the West Coast before and based on positive reviews, I booked this hotel in advance to stay July 2-5th. We traveled through six states to get there with camping gear and bikes and had zero problems. We had a locked cloth carrier on top of our car and when we checked in we did not see the sign to bring bikes inside. The lady at the front desk failed to tell us that they have a problem with theft. Our cloth carrier was cut off the car, the lock was cut and camping gear was stolen. We waited for 3 hours for the police to show up because the dispatcher said someone would come. My husband had to call the police back and then they only took our information over the phone. The policeman acted like we should have known better to leave anything on/in our car which is nearly impossible with a cross-country trip like this with four people.I was able to cancel the reservation through the third party service I used to book it but the hotel management told us we needed to be out of the room in ten minutes in order to not be charged for an additional day. We got out and stayed in the laundry area to finish our laundry for at least two more hours.If you choose to stay in Crescent City off of highway 101 (which we now know is a hotspot for issues), be aware of the risks — we found out three other people were robbed the same night at the same hotel and one of the hotel staff was surprised no one’s windows were broken. I believe the hotel owner needs to properly inform its customers instead of saving the candidness about the city’s problems for after you have become a victim.
We stayed 3 days (sun-wed) . There were 4 of us. Two couples, two Jacuzzi rooms. My husband and I have stayed in alot of hotels in the past and this one has been one of the cleanest, quietest, nicest continental breakfasts and friendliest hotels. The room is very spacious, the Jacuzzi is great, barely any noise from other rooms, very clean rooms. The only recommendation I have is to update the decks for room 226 & 228. Kinda feel unsafe when u have 4 people out there, feels unstable. Other than that amazing!
Clean rooms, friendly staff, very reasonable rates. I will definetly stay here again. The balcony rooms are a great bonus just for a nice relaxing palce to sit and enjoy the view, the only downside is the view is quite open to the more ... um industrial worn down areas and seemed to be a quite busy road traveled below the balcony, I am not downgrading my review for this because its really not in any control of the hotel but just writing it as more of a informational only. (see pictures) The breakfast had a good selection of pastries and bagles, however i would have like to see maybe at least sausage and fruit added. I give this hotel 4.5 stars but would give it 5 if the breakfast had some healthy options and also had a hard time sleeping as the neighbors conversations could be heard easily thru the ceiling above. Overall i really enjoyed my stay, very comfortable room and great convient location.
The walls are paper thin.. at 3AM a room adjacent or above me took a shower and it sounded like a freaking water fall & was loud enough to wake me up. Also there is a fog horn on the coast side that blows every 10 seconds 24 hours a day 7 days a week- they have a teeny tiny sign at check in, but thats all the warning you get! Great place to stay if you want to wake up with a headache.
Clean, friendly staff, and budget friendly. We were lucky this place had an opening at the last minute. Popped in and they made it a piece of cake. Bed was comfortable and the room was warm. Thanks for the hospitality.
With an empty parking lot, and a note stating I needed an early check-in they were indifferent to helping me out, very frustrating. Posivirves: Rooms are clean, maid service was friendly. Negatives: decorum very obviously hasnt been updated since the 90s.no hot options for breakfast, everything is carbohydrates except for boiled eggs.
Nice hotel. The rooms were large and the setting pleasant. Everything was clean and well kept. Average breakfast layout, nothing too fancy, but it wasnt bad.

We stayed here April 2016. The room was very clean and everyone was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. We left the window open all night to hear the sea lions and the fog horn. We enjoyed our stay very much.

That stale smell that permeates after a long nights sleep in a closed up room. Thats what my room smells like. I have the balcony door wide open now, for a couple of hours. Still smelling it. Its all coming from the bedspread and pillows. This place is disgusting.
Excellent! All the staff here are apt to help when asked. Manager understands the meaning of great customer service and greets everyone with a smile. I have children and they are convinced she is a nice lady and looks forward to breakfast when they will see her. I will be back and will recommend Ocean View Inn to all of my visitors, friends, and family. Thank You!
Don’t be fooled by this hotel, the exterior and lobby look good but that’s it! We booked a balcony ocean view room which is right next to the elevator, there are only 4 rooms with ‘balconies’ two directly next to the lift and two further down the side of the building. The ocean view is nothing special and you over look a small field which has garbage disposals and the balcony is worn wood which you can peak through and see the people upstairs. It is not worth the extra charge for the so called ocean view balcony room. The furniture on the balconies are dirty plastic chairs and a small table. Upon entering the room there was a STRONG smell of stagnant smoke and the bathroom smelt of old urine mixed with marijuana! The room itself is very noisy and you can hear the noise of the lift operating and the rooms next door. We were unlucky and the people above us was stomping around all night. The room is super stuffy and the portable air conditioning machine is very loud. We would’ve kept the balcony door open but the neighbours upstairs were very loud and there are also people walking along the back of the hotel. There is no screen door to keep bugs and mosquitos out. The front door didn’t have a security bar and the deadlock did not lock, the door also got stuck when you opened it too far. We would’ve complained to the man on reception but when we checked in he did not seemed at all bothered and I think we woke him up from a nap. The only good thing is the room was spacious.
Such a beautiful room..... Theres a balcony... Theres a hot tub... Theres a fireplace a microwave a refrigerator a decent size TV a beautiful view of the ocean.... Clean.... No cobwebs havent found any problems so far....
Bed was very hard, my wife could literally hear the persons cell phone conversation next door. The towles were stained along with the mattress and floor. The positive side was that the shower was hot with great pressure but mostly the front desk gals, they were so helpful and friendly!
Arrived at 8pm and was told that our reservation was canceled because the hotel was “overbooked” Claimed she called my cell days ago and “spoke with a man. Do you have a husband?”. My husband was not traveling with us and no one called us. No rooms there, wouldn’t help us find a place to stay after driving for hours. Buyer beware if you book here, you may have your reservation canceled and you’ll be stuck at a Super 8
Made our reservation on the internet. Check in was quick, room 302 has 3 queen beds that was perfect for our family of six. We brought a box fan recommended by other guests on yelp. Our beds were comfy, there arent any extra pillows or blankets. Mini fridge and microwave in room. Continental breakfast was good. Hard boiled eggs,yogurt, frozen waffles,toast,bagels,variety of muffins,bananas,apples, variety of cereal, and oatmeal, orange and apple juice, coffee and regular milk. Breakfast was from 6am to 10am.

2023-10-07 01:56:32I just loved this place. It was very Golden Girls to me and clean. Would stay again. The staff was great, the location was wonderful. Highly recommend! The breakfast in the morning is just bagels, cereal and an assortment of drinks. Good enough to hold you over! They offer coffee, cocoa, and hot cider are all day long. Be there before 9:30 for breakfast, one day they shut down a little early.

After a rain-soaked sleep the prior eve, my associates and I were in need. The Ocean View Inn provided. Do I want two queen beds and a king? How about free breakfast and conversation with the gentleman behind the desk? A shower and the soothing sounds of the ocean? All of this and more come for a steal of a price at this beautiful hotel—or shall I say, home away from home. Comfort, love, sustenance, stability, support, like the family I never had. Smiles from cheek to cheek on every guest at the inn, returned by the jovial and caring staff. Thank you for a night out of the rain, physically and spiritually.I dream of the day I can return to the gilded halls of the Ocean View Inn. God bless these people and God bless America.

2023-09-10 16:46:23Yes, the hotel is dated, but not in a dingy way. Its very clean, plenty of towels and soap/shampoo. Staff are all very friendly and accommodating. There is a little noise from neighbors moving around and walking up the stairs, but once everyone settles down for the night its pretty quiet. Overall, very comfortable place to stay.

The staff were great. They ALL said hi when we saw them. Everything was clean. The breakfast had good options. This will be our go to spot when we stay in Crescent City.

The walls are a bit thin and you can hear various noises from other rooms, but during the night there is absolute silence. Good breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

2023-07-25 23:35:19This hotel had many good features and one glaringly bad one....Not enough luggage racks. They tell you take absolutely everything out of your car which is fine. But then the whole place only has 2 luggage carts and they are inevitably being used. So its 5 trips to your car.Otherwise, hot showers, clean, comfortable beds, breakfast, all the things you would want. Also, the wifi was not great, but tolerable.

My kids found tons of starfish, crabs, and more!The breakfast was bagels, cereal, and yogurt.It was also a short drive to the Trees of Mystery the next morning.
