Service was really friendly. Atmosphere is very cozy and the food is great. If you want hot pot this is a spot you should drop by!! If you have a large party these guys can hook you up for reservations for the entire place just like we did :)

When there was a knock at our door not 15 min after we ordered, I said it couldnt be our order, but lo and behold! The walnut shrimp, general tsos chicken, and egg fried rice were all delicious and since we got over $35, we got free crab rangoon. Would order again.

We are vegetarians and below are my comments1. You want a quick Chinese bite them it is fine to go here2. Spring roll and noodle was good3. Kun pao veggi was just ok only, 4. Thai ice tea was just okIf you are planning for having great lunch or dinner then there are better options.

I ordered take out. They only do take out and delivery. I ordered the Mongolian beef, lemon chicken, and egg rolls. The food was ok. I havent had Chinese in a long time. It was pretty chewy. Nothing really stood out. The portions are good and the price is right and it was ready quickly.

Usually they are fairly on top of things, but this restaurant has always had something good. It seemed rushed packaging of our food & yep, 1 of the top lids wasnt snapped down properly. & sauce was pooling at bottom of bag.

Decent food here, slightly smaller menu. Friendly staff :). If you want to beat the rush, you can pre-order for pickup right when they open the next day. We loved their chow fun, fried rice, string beans and bean curd, and their chicken and veggies. All the dishes were delicious! We also got egg rolls on y)3 house which was so nice of them!They are currently only doing delivery and takeout. Go support your local restaurant!

One of the best take-out spots this side of The Peninsula!When I came here I ordered the chicken chow mien and orange chicken. Each entree was about $11 but it was worth it. I ordered to go and both entrees came in a circular black plate with a plastic lid. Some may consider reusing the plate after washing it as it is fit to serve a variety of other uses, a nice bonus in my opinion.The orange chicken was tangy with a hint of orange from the slices it was cooked with (which is something that other places lack). The chicken was crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. It resulted in a wholesome part of the meal. The orange chicken was cooked with tiny strips of onion that further emphasized it’s great flavor.The chicken chow mien was also pretty good, as it proved to be a hearty entree with plenty of vegetables. The flavor was enjoyably salty and it kept making me want more.The soy sauce and fortune cookies come within a tiny bag that includes a copy of the menu and some chopsticks. I also got some complementary egg-rolls and dipping sauce with my order. It was much appreciated!I will definitely come back here when I have the chance. Keep up the good work!

We went and didnt realize it was take out only, and they felt bad we were standing waiting (which is normal/expected). The food came out sooo fast and was quite tasty! I was happy to see the many vegetarian options too.

Lately Ive ordered through one of the apps with delivery. The food is consistently good so I decided to drop by on my way home. Much to my surprise its a restaurant I went to for years. I always thought it was called Jade something or other. Imagine my surprise it is Oceanic. The food and service are still excellent and parking is still sketchy. But the restaurant was clean including the bathroom and kitchen. Nice to see an old friend again. Anything with prawns is out of this world.

This restaurant is very good. I loved their service, it was extremely friendly and the people serving us were very helpful. The food itself was pretty good. The spice was blended nicely and the fried rice was amazing. The only qualm I had was that the food was served at room temperature. After the first round of eating, it lost most of its heat and temperature. However, overall, it was well done. I would definitely visit this restaurant again.

Amazing and sweet people. Their shrimp fried rice was absolutely divine (I get mines with extra shrimp and extra peas and carrots😍😍😍)and packed with flavor. Definitely give them a try!

We are locals who live 10 minutes from this disaster of a restaurant.The view is nice but the food is just ok and overpriced....the biggest issue is they do not have any real gluten free options. Its not difficult to Cary corn tortillas or gluten free pasta or add a childrens steak or gluten free hum for your hamburger.Oh my gosh, it got better!First, the bar tender on the pier said they dont have sparkling bottled water...we only carry the spring water. I ordered sparkling at the table without an issue...he just didnt want to go get it.After lunch ($90) we went down to the beach because weve been told if we eat there and only go for an hour or two its ok to do so. The manager chased us down on the beach, aggressively telling us to move our car.Well never be back.

The delivery was Fast. Everyone was delightfulThe Walnut Prawns were incredibly delicious. They were out of the dessert I wanted and I chose Crab rangoon instead.....More expensive.....but they gave it to me for the price of the dessert!!! AND they also gave me an appetizer on the house. Truly...even without those things I still would have given 5 stars as the food was so good. I lived in Alaska for over a decade and I know a beautifully cooked prawn when I eat one. They do not know this was my first time with Oceanic. I will eat there often. It was just so fresh tasting and. Yummy! Can not wait to dine in. Will be taking friends and family there

Best Chinese found around, hands down. The Egg Fu Yong is amazing, and so are the Walnut Prawns. We usually get some noodles too, and sometimes a vegetable dish. I love the Crab Rangoon and Green Onion Pancake too. Most of the time we get it delivered, but if you have the chance, definitely go in person. Its so good when it comes out fresh.

This place was amazingly delicious, the service was impeccable AND they surprised us with an appetizer AND dessert on the house! Ive never had that happen at a restaurant. I HIGHLY recommend this place! We are from out of town and picked it from yelp while attending a conference at the San Mateo Event Center, it was the perfect end to our evening!

This review is for their delivery service and food. My boyfriend ordered online and had it delivered to our apartment in Foster City. The food came relatively fast...around 30 minutes or so. We ordered the chow fun, basil beef and sweet and sour chicken. The Chow fun was alright. The noodles were a little mushy. I would have like them al dente. Im going to attribute that to the ride over. The basil beef and sweet and sour chicken dishes were good. Nothing significant but still good. They did throw in a few eggrolls on the house which was a nice touch. Indifferent about this place.

If you live on El Camino south of 92 this is probably one of the few Chinese restaurants youll notice. They offer dine in and take out, but youll probably chose the latter beings the resturant is rather small. The food is very expensive and rather salty. Ive tried it a few times and never really found anything I liked. I would recommend heading north to not so parking friendly downtown and trying your luck there.

Fantastic food especially the soup! Homemade and it shows! Also they give you free spring rolls when dining in. Kung Pao chicken was great too! The service also very good. Small place charm with some very good dishes! Highly recommend!

This place does not serve authentic Chinese food. We realized this when we sat down and each place setting had a fork but no chop sticks. That being said, it is edible and the service is friendly and fast. It depends on what youre looking for.

I tried to express my excellent experience with oceanic restaurant through yelp but yelp Failed me miserably for wasting my honestly good review and lost it. So now im using this google review and hope other customers will see it. As a visitor from other state and staying at the hotel so far this restaurant is the Best chinese restaurant to me! Its been raining hard since yesterday out here and hence the dalay. Kevin handled the situation very well ( esp. dealing with difficult person like me ) and provided an exceptional customer service and offered me a free lunch special meal and delivered my food to my hotel personally! The food was unexpectedly delicious and I cant believe i finished it all! I cant wait to try their other dishes next time im in the area. Other visitors, I hope you find this very useful and dont forget to ask for their special hot sauce if you like to spice up your food :) Thanx again Kevin and Oceanic restaurant for the awesome experience! Our favorite Chinese place in San Mateo by far. Get delivery almost every week :) Food is even better when you dine there, but delivery is still great. They always give you free spring rolls too (and ice cream if you eat there!). General tsos, garlic eggplant, kung pao tofu, chicken w/mixed vegetables, chow fun with beef, veggie fried rice - basically our order every time haha

Lotus root/shrimp was superb. Had just enough Chow flavor to bring out all the subtilties of delicate flavor of the lotus, shrimp and black mushrooms. Lotus root was not over cooked still crisp and juicy.Mo po tofu was good, fermented bean paste👌 just right. Not, over powering. Just could of been abet spicier.Service was great.Reminded me of China.👲All veggies are fresh, mushrooms, lotus root etc. Not canned or dried.Real food.Cooks dont use msg nor over salt food. You can add salt to your liking.

This is the best Chinese Ive had on the Peninsula so far! I ordered via Eat24 for pickup and it was a breeze. (Parking on El Camino is a little tricky if youre coming in from the north.) I feared the walnut prawns wouldnt be crispy, but indeed they were lightly battered, and the jumbo prawns were succulent against the crunch of the candied walnuts. We also had the vegetarian kung pao chicken and veggie delight (Lotus root, green beans, broccoli and Shinae mushrooms). Both were excellent and the vegetables were sautéed perfectly because they were thoroughly cooked yet al dente.

They dont hide what theyre trying to be - Chinese-American food, Hunan inspired.Once I sat down, they gave me free sour and spicy soup, which was decent. Handed down a plate of two egg rolls on the house.Lunch Special Kung Pao Chicken ($6.95) was on the sweet side, didnt come with the long red/black peppers, but came with lots of cucumbers, carrots, and water chestnuts. I hate the filler water chestnuts. Generous rice portion. Hunan Fish ($7.25) was surprisingly crispy still despite drowning in a semi-spicy sauce. Good, but again, too much water chestnuts!Young female waitress was particularly nice - kept refilling the water and came to ask several times if food was alright. Surprisingly good service for this type of restaurant. Tiny parking lot in the back. Takes credit.

I have no words to express how much I love this place. I have been going here from last 6 years and it has never disappointed me and my family.Now that we moved out of the area, I still come here for lunch just because I love there food.
