I love ❤️ Ocha Restaurants... Ive eaten in almost all of them... except this one, 1st time coming here... I brought my son and all of the woman of the Family.... And it was great 👍 👌 👍 👌 the food was on point Specially the Thai Salad OMG the Service was Excellent very polite waiters and waitresses... Ill be coming back soon...

Helpful staff offering generous portions of great food that is prepared to your liking. I always start at medium spicy, which turned out to be perfect for me. The fish was incredibly tasty and alone is enough to bring us back. The pork and beef are quite flavorful and vegetables fresh cooked.

They have become so cheap, I was charged almost $18 for a lot of fried rice and a few pieces of meat. Not worth the price. For 16 years this place was my favorite in every way. Now for me is not worth coming here. I really do no recommend it.

Delicious food. Good service. This is my go to place for thai. Its not as spicy as thai food in Thailand but it is tasty. You can add more spice if desired. Come with plenty of time because it is always packed and there is usually a line.

This is not real Thai food, most costomers are Hispanics, and probably never have real Thai food, most of them order fried rice and hot spicy seafood soup... My food was weird, pork were super dry ...like eating a piece of wood... Its supposed to be pork with garlic...

I would give 0 stars if I could! Absolutely poor customer service! I asked for a booth because I had a party of more than 4 people and was denied due to overcapacity! I looked around and saw that some booths had 2 or less people sitting . I am appalled by their seating arrangements! Masseur literally threw our plates on the table without proper and neat arrangements of utensils and plates. Slow food service, over 5 mins for each plate to arrive, in addition food was not hot at all! I felt unwanted! They’re charging a mandatory 10% service fee for dine in orders, basically tipping for HORRIBLE customer service! What a joke!

Really disappointed. The person who took my order charged me extra for special fried rice that includes BBQ pork and Chinese sausage. I ordered plain pork fried rice. But I was there so I said whatever, Ill take it. I didnt get any Chinese sausage. I called go ask why I was charged for special rice when I didnt even get the ingredient that makes it special and he said I asked for special. I didnt. I actually record my phone calls so I know I didnt haha. He laughed when I told him. So they made 2 mistakes and laughed about it. Very weird. Oh well, dont recommend.

Ive been coming to this restaurant practically all my life. Im 23 now and the servers already know me and my family and our usual order. Theyve always been kind and attentive and personable and the food is delicious. Definitely a major part of my childhood growing up and for years it was, and still is, my favorite restaurant.I cannot say how much I love this place and the staff, even if parking is a little hectic and inflation has raised prices. In my eyes, totally worth it.Food is always hot and tasty, the seafood soup with a side of white rice always being the favorite go-to order. Just wish they could fix the phone situation to make takeout a little easier 😜

After getting over the gruesome parking situation, i was promptly sat and attended to. The service here is very fast and everything we had was excellent. The seafood soup was very flavorful and light, as was the fried rice. Even the chow mein didnt make me feel overly full. The sauces complemented the food well, and the iced coffee had a unique but nice flavor. The food my friend and i ordered was enough to rat plenty and take lots home. I definitely look forward to coming back

The food was alright. We’ve had better. Our fried rice tasted sweet which was disappointing.the seafood soup barely had any seafood it was more soup than anything. And they automatically charge you like 9 something just for eating there. That’s close to the price for another plate so not worth it. It doesn’t matter if there’s 2 or 10 of you.

Ocha has been a favorite for over 30 years. Chow mein chicken, pork pad Thai, seafood soup and chicken curry & bamboo shoot are my favorites. The Nordhoff location has plenty of parking. The Vermont location is very limited in parking and often have long wait lines. But the service is always friendly. Great place to bring the whole family because while the food is great the prices are also very affordable. Its true that its probably not authentically pleasing to the Thai natives but the food is delicious 😋 in my humble but correct opinion.

Food is good, have been coming here for a long time since the first one on 8th and Vermont .here they use to charge up front for a while but it was during the pandemic just went yesterday and they don’t charge upfront anymore . They do have a 10 % service charge I spoke to the manager and told him that as to why I was paying extra for giving them my business . I explained that I would rather live the extra 10% on tip and he waived the service fee. The restaurant has a tip pool that is shared by all the employees . I have not found a better Thai restaurant in the valley since 1980.I will continue to support them until I find a better one .

We live out of state and always stop here no matter what. Same menu and flavor as Ocha on Sunset. Must try seafood soup with white rice, shrimp glass noodles, thai iced tea. Food was horrible. $70 dollars for the wrong food and the food is gross and old. Enjoy your report to the food department cuz my food was clearly hours old and the wrong order. I will be making sure to tell my friends since we used to come here as tradition. I guess I will be needing a new Thai restaurant. It was so dry and barely any sauce on the chicken. Soup had a horrible rotten fishy smell to it. Im very disappointed in a place I once loved so much.

This place has been part of my family tradition for decades. I cant remember a day where I was disappointed by the soups. I really enjoy the seven sea soup, shrimp fried rice, and more soup.this place is very clean, the customer service is excellent, and the pricing is reasonable. Is a place where you can take your family and have a hell of a good time. You can also take your kids and they will have a place where they feel comfortable and warm. It is a very homey place the couches are comfortable the tables are clean. They are really good at their job as soon as someone gets off the table they start cleaning and then they sit the next person.

Terrible customer service. The waiters were rude and incompetent. And on top of the bad service I found a piece of metal that fell of from a stainless steal scrubber in my chow mein when I took a full bite. We had to ask for glasses of water 3 times and they kept getting our order wrong and made it seemed like it was our fault. Our waitress seemed to hate her job due to always rolling her eyes when we asked for something. Overall I really don’t recommend this place unless you want to feel un-welcomed and ignored.

Best Thai restaurant around. Ive been coming here since I was a child. Best shrimp soup Ive ever eaten in my life. The staff is great and polite and very helpful. Never had any problems eating here always a great experience. The food is made fast and out in about less then 10 mins. I bring my son here as my parents brought me as a child.

They over charged me by $10 dollars, didnt realized it until I got home. On top of that, they charge you extra if you want no ice or easy on the ice. Like, who does that? By the way you have to pay before you eat. However, the food was good. My advice, ASK FOR RECEIPT and check it. Another customer was upset and requesting one. Now that I realized I was overcharged, maybe a pattern?

Food is great, service isnt. Employees take way too long to get your food, and arent friendly. Most will just leave your food and drink sitting on the table without saying anything at all. No customer to employee interaction at all. I like to think that the taste is fairly good and consistent in all Ocha locations, though.

What causes a restaurant to have to make you pay for your meal before they will serve it to you? Are too many people running out on the bill? Are people not wanting to pay for the substandard quality food? Is it just in a shady neighborhood?Perhaps all the above from my experience.I review all of my Asian restaurants by first ordering a basic staple on my first visit, an easily identifiable, simply prepared dish that gives me a quick review of multiple proteins and the preparation of the simplest of starches...rice. Namely, the House Fried Rice. If it doesnt pass the test...I never go back, I quit while Im ahead so to speak.How can you screw that up, right? It typically includes a mix of proteins, usually beef, chicken and shrimp.So how did they do?Terrible...Super dry, like rehydrated beef jerky, re-heated (60 per pound count sized) dry shrimp, re-heated dry chicken, and the worse; flavorless dry, starchless rice...probably from the day before. The rice wasnt even oily, no oil or moisture of any kind.. Heck, it was all from the day or two before.There was literally only two pieces of each protein, and one generous slice of cucumber.Ive tried the frozen fried rice from Trader Joes, one hundred times better at less than half the price of these leftovers.This place has thrown in the towel, and the referee has begun the eight count. I been coming here for year’s and they had me wait for a table for 40 minutes finally they gave us a table at 8.19 p.m. and my bill was $160.00 only for them to tell me that they r closed at 9 why the hell you have me wait for so long and knowing you r going to closed in 40 minutes and not only we had to wait for r food to be served so we only had like 15 minutes to eat. I bought party food tray of fried rice which cost $114 and it was expired. Along with this tray I purchased beef broccoli and chow mein for my niece’s 15 but no one wanted to eat the fried rice. It gave off a strong odor and was clearly expired. I always came here with my family and enjoyed their food so I never thought I’d purchase expired food from them. I went back the next day personally with the tray of expired fried rice and they did not want to refund me. The tray was full of the expired rice.

Decent little Thai restaurant at the corner of Nordhoff and Van Nuys in the jewel of the valley, Panorama City. Come check it out! They dont deliver, and parking sucks around there (as do the crosswalks, watch out for hobos and speeding cars) but the interior is nice and quaint, it reminds me of small Chinese restaurants in the North-East to be honest.

I have been coming to Thai Ocha since I can remember as a little girl, the location in Los Angeles and after I moved to the valley area, I now visit the location in panorama city, it is amazing, and personally I love it, mainly for the seafood soup. The lemony taste is amazing and the chow mein is on point, the rice has its good days n bad days but overall I love this place and the service may be a little slow since its almost always really busy especially on the weekends, but I worked in food service so I know how hectic it can get to attend everyone at once, but when u become a regular, believe me, they WILL REMEMBER faces haha... 💖

Worst experience ever first of all I went to the restroom and saw a roach I dont even know how they are still open I ignore it cause it can happen anywhere than I go get my order the guy on the register is so rude he said his name was Chris but it seem that he was lying anyways good luck people hopefully dont find anything in your food never will ever go back their and I will be notifying the health department cause thats not ok if I could rate it a 0 I would worst experience ever
