Odori Japanese Cuisine in Palo Alto

I came in with two friends in search of a sushi boat, and man did Janet (our server) and the chefs deliver. Janet came out with not one but TWO huge sushi boats that she put all of our sushi on by hand. This is a must-visit restaurant in Palo Alto with the freshest fish in the Bay. 10/10

Recommended and will return. I had a wonderful meal here with some unagi don and a chefs choice sushi. The fish was wonderfully fresh, the rice was just right, and even the soy sauce was slightly different and special. The chili crisp garnish on one nigiri distracted a little from the great fish, perhaps, but that was a minor thing. In any case, ignore the sort-of-hilarious but misleading negative reviews and give this a try.

Ordered a shrimp stir-fried rice and a stir-fried udon on Uber eats and was looking forward to an exciting Japanese hibachi style meal. Instead I was met with a little more tepid disappointment after arriving home from picking up the order. The noodles were a little gummy and came with almost no protein which was still quite expensive for the price. Flavor was very bland and didn’t have any complexity. The shrimp fried rice was a little better but once again, flavor profile was quite limited but it did have a decent amount of smaller shrimp pieces. Overall, I would not order either of these choices again, the sushi bar looked very appetizing however so I may want to come back to try out their sushi.

It was the best sushi, nigiri and sashimi in my life. Nigiris and sashimis were the best, cucumber tuna rolls were very good but not best. The ambient was very good, clean and good service. I can feel free to definitely recommend this place. I have tried many sushi place but this is one of the bests.

Odori is our long time favorite! Especially their salmon avacado roll and salmon don. Their salmon just tastes way fresher and more buttery than anywhere else!

Top quality sushi at a reasonable price. Service is a bit slow. Try the chefs special sashimi.

Sure it’s got its quirks but I’ve always had a good experience here even if I do have to wait a little extra longer. It’s reliably good and reasonable!

My Dad loves this place. I can take it or leave it. I think I always get the miso cod(?). Sushi seems fine. Mochi dessert fine. Tea good. I dont dread having to go back and its probably my only Japanese restaurant destination. Im sure there are others that would skew my review down a notch or two, but Japanese food is no longer my thing, so I dont venture out for options. This place essentially has sentimental value and is conveniently located. Parking can get quite difficult in the immediate vicinity, though.

Sushi and service were great! They were short staffed, but are working hard to serve their customers. Wait staff were kind, respectful, and attentive. Would definitely eat here again.
