2023-07-21 22:04:19Small izakaya serving authentic Japanese small plates. We had the rainbow roll, toro sushi, hamachi collar, and omurice. The rainbow roll was good, and the fish was fresh. The toro 🍣 doesnt taste as premium as I would like, but its good enough. What was troubling about the service was that the servers couldnt tell toro sushi from their beef sushi. They gave us the beef sushi first, and we promptly told them the order was for toro and not beef. 2 servers have to come by to look real close before they realized that the 🍣 was indeed beef. The omurice was decent, but we would have like the egg to be a lot more runny.

2023-11-05 16:37:11Service was great and food was delicious! I got the sake flight sampler and the salmon ikura bowl. The salmon ikura bowl was amazing and fresh. This was my second time here and both times did not disappoint.

2023-11-04 12:28:16Excellent service even though the kitchen was about to close. The waitress was patient with answering questions since this was my first time here. Our table was too small for how much we ordered; although, that did not really bother me, but it may affect other peoples opinions about the atmosphere. I ordered the pressed mackerel nigiri and was unexpectedly not raw. It had been pickled. It was a treatment of mackerel that was new to me. My tempura was perfect, all of it was perfect. I do not remember the last time I had such light, fresh, crispy tempura and it was after had cool for 15 minutes. Amazing. The fried rice was excellent too. Not heavy and a little sticky. The omelet was done exactly to our request. Would love to return and try more of their grilled items.

2023-02-18 04:16:02Awesome Japanese food! A little pricey but it has everything you want for Japanese food. They all taste great, so I think it is worth the price. I ordered udon carbonara, Ika Yaki, and Beef Tataki Set. Amazing experience, and the restaurant is always busy at night, so it is better to make a reservation before going. FYI, dont go there when you are very hungry because the portion is somehow small

2021-11-10 03:38:08We had lunch here for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised to find tasty, authentic Japanese food, not some wannabe copycat. I liked the subtle seasoning of each dish which were carefully prepared. The menu is extensive so would love to visit again to try something else. Its located in a strip mall with ample parking in front. Servers are friendly.

2023-01-10 00:36:24Craving sushi ended up here late at night after the other sushi we were supposed to go was not open, we got seated quickly, and the menu was given by our waitress. We went with spicy edemame as an appetizer, and for sushi, we got shrimp tempura roll, spicy tuna roll, and a spider roll... so the edemame was not spicy but had good flavor. Spicy salmon roll was not spicy, was just decent in flavor, and it was skimpy. The shrimp tempura roll was ok in flavor, but again, on the skinny side. Finally, the spider roll had good-sized pieces but lacks in flavor. Only eel sauce stood out from all the other flavors... all in all, its just ok. They do have an extensive menu. Maybe something worth the price and good on flavor would make me come back here...🤷♂️

2022-10-24 00:56:35In a small plaza off of Hawthorne Blvd. There is a great selection on the menu. I have been here many times for their udon noodles...very good! Today we had a combo box and rainbow roll. Very delicious!

2022-09-14 18:45:18Located in a nondescript strip center, this Japanese Restaurant was surprisingly good. The food is well-priced for the quality food we were served. Their menu is extensive with many choices so everyone can find what they like. We ordered the combination boxes with 2 items and everything was delicious – grilled teriyaki chicken, tempura shrimp and vegetables, salad, and rice. I wish I’d ordered the 3-item, I’ll do that next time. Service is nice; for indoors they require wearing a mask. It was a warm night so we liked dining outdoors with the nice breeze.

2021-08-18 15:33:57Sort of stumbled upon this place as my GPS led me astray, but glad that happened as this was an enjoyable meal. With 3 people, we were able to get a variety of dishes. I love hamachi (yellowtail) sashimi and it was lovely. Just how I expected and wanted it. I normally would not order fried chicken cartilage, but it was surprisingly good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The homemade yuzu sorbet was simple, but to the point. Those were my top dishes based on flavor. The above average dishes were seared albacore sashimi, steak with stir-fried bean sprouts, agedashi tofu, and strawberry unbaked cheesecake. The cheesecake tasted fine, but interestingly it was unbaked. I didn’t really like the fried breaded salmon, but it wasn’t my choice. Lol.Would I go back? Yes! Most dishes were pretty good, but I probably would not go out of my way to get to this place.
