Okama Ramen and Grill in Chula Vista

This place is a solid four. Everything we ordered was good but not great. The gyoza are on par. The spicy tuna roll was also despite there being a hair in my first bite. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and also the vegan black miso Ramen. The Tonkotsu was flavorful with an okay amount of toppings. The broth was semi-rich and had a good flavor but not amazing. The vegan ramen had an interesting funky light broth with ample toppings. Both ramens were on par but I wouldnt put them up there with some of the best that Ive had but I also wouldnt mind coming back. The decor of the place is pretty bland.

Love this little hide out! The Ramen is delicious and if u could make lunch, the lunch specials are pretty good! They have Sapporo black! So good!!

Our family of three had a great experience eating dinner here. We had a shrimp tempura roll, shoyu chicken ramen, shrimp fried rice, and hibachi chicken entree that also included a ginger salad and clear soup along with hibachi vegetables, fried rice and noodles. Everything was fast and fresh. Our servers were incredibly kind and took care of us the entire time. We were in and out pretty quickly, even for a Saturday night, and we went home with tons of leftovers as well. We look forward to returning again soon.

Delicious food. Interesting rolls. What caught my eyes was the Ramen. I had the Tonkaysu black garlic, and it was heaven in my mouth. Finished everything to the very last drop. I will definitely benack again for the ramen!

Went for lunch during the week. Ordered some ramen. Spicy pork, it was very tasty but it needed a bit more broth. Good taste and service but for $18, I wouldve liked more broth thats it. Not very busy during the week and perfect for a cold day.

This place usually is really good. But just got my order today and ordered regular chicken ramen, spicy chicken ramen and tuna roll. I’ve never gotten bad food until now with the tuna being brown so I tossed it and didn’t want to take chances.

I was disappointed at this place. I dont think Im too difficult to satisfy at restaurants. The food wasnt great. The California roll I had was dry and had little flavor. The only reason Im giving this a three is because the ramen was decent.

Nice, clean restaurant. Kids meals chicken and steak was quite great. Fried ice cream was delicious. California roll and shrimp tempura roll good as well although they were a bit on the small side.

Ordered the seafood ramen I really enjoyed it ....only thing I didnt like was the octopus was a bit chewy.. There spicy garlic and edamame was perfect.... The Hubs had filet mignon Ramen the mignon was delicious....he also had a Sapporo and sake..we also had the Las Vegas roll was also great .....prices are very reasonable.. Definitely recommend.

Recommendation of my gfs son we tried Okama. And Ive returned several times again. The waiter knows what I like, Hot sake! I like the shrimp tempura for starters, I get the tri-color sushi and an additional roll that comes sliced. My friends, who arent into sushi have had the ramens (actually Ramen is in their name), shio chicken and shoyu chicken for my gf, a beef ramen for a friend. Ill usually have two orders of hot sake. Okama is simple and clean, and it is good.
