I am happy to find Okane Umi offering a nice outdoor patio! The weather was beautiful on this Saturday afternoon. Patio is clean, service was friendly and food arrived very quickly.Appetizer - miso eggplant is delicious; chicken karaage is decent but not something I will go back for. Sexy roll and salmon avocado roll are both good. Satisfied my sushi craving :)

My mom gets food delivered from this restaurant quite often and the quality is exquisite. She often calls them and they are always courteous, kind & patient on the phone. The sushi is fresh, delicious and beautiful. Highly recommended.

So happy we found this place! Looks so nice inside with great music and TVs if you want to watch sports. Excellent sushi with large pieces of fresh fish and tasty rolls. Service was great and they have their own parking lot which is a plus. Will definitely come back!

We went there for lunch, the sushi and sashimi was excellent. We also ordered teriyaki chicken and it wasn’t good, the cheese corn was cooked before and then warmed up on the grill, next time I will ask for chicken to be cooked then and now. I will go back for sushi when I am in the Torrance Lomita area

The quality of the sushi it not worth for the price. Dont get the warm spring row it just falls apart when you pick it up. I dont recommend this place to anyone or will not come back

I ordered on Uber Eats and the price of course is marked up. The restaurant is already getting extra money from Uber Eats customers. I was going to spend over $60. When I asked for extra wasabi, the restaurant called Uber Eats support. Then Uber Eats support called me to tell me that the restaurant was going to charge me an extra $.50 per packet of wasabi. These packets are smaller than a Taco Bell hot sauce packet. I canceled my complete order because if this restaurant could not afford extra Wassabi to its customers. Then they are being completely cheap. Imagine if I was a customer inside the restaurant. Do you think they would charge me extra. If I asked for extra wasabi? No, they would not charge me extra. I will definitely spread the word to my friends who like Japanese food.

Food was very good.Service not so much.When we asked the hostess some easy questions on certain dinners. She understood that is what we were ordering. We paid twice as much as we really wanted and ordered. She was confused between ordering and answering simple questions about meals. Language barrier. She was very nice and friendly.Next time we go we will look for the young man who seemed to be in charge. Very friendly and offered to remove the meals, we were on our way to another engagement so we decided to just pay for the. We had nice lunches the next day. So it worked out ok.Parking is ample.

Ive been to Okane Umi a few times now and it will likely remain in the rotation since I live close by. Im not a huge fan of sushi but I usually enjoy Japanese teriyaki dishes so its a solid play when my wife is craving Japanese. My wife is a fan of their seafood dishes and I enjoy the teriyaki chicken but would pass if youre craving the steak as the teriyaki steak was overpriced and underwhelming. The service is nice and the patio can be pleasant if the weather cooperates. Definitely check it out.

Im extremely impressed and dont understand why this place has such a low pricing. This has got to be the best sashimi in the Torrance area. The 16 pieces sashimi was so fresh and nearly melted in my mouth. All for under 30 and this was a total steal! The roles were well-balanced and many different kinds and most of them are under $4 dollars. The service was great and manager(maybe an owner) lady was very attractive..^^ I will absolutely be back.

This hidden in the bush sushi restaurant surprised us with a lovely atmosphere. We were served not just sushi on the plate, it was a Creative Sushi plate. We ordered sea urchin sushi, sweet shrimp sushi, salmon sashimi, and Unagi. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. The only downside was the price on some delicacies like sea urchin and live sweet shrimp.

I have been coming here for a while. Prior to the end of the pandemic I had only ever order delivery order for pick up. I recently with into the location and I dont like that experience as much which is the reason why Im giving it for stars. I would not recommend getting the chicken wings for any reason, go somewhere else. The owner is always there and lingers in hovers over the waiters which inhibits their ability to truly help you in a way that leaves you satisfied. I cant figure out whether or not I am coming back here, or if I am just going to find somewhere else because I was going out of my way to come here anytime I did and my last experience here left me feeling like I could do without. I ordered about 5 to 6 different types of sushi and I didnt receive one. After about 30 minutes, I told them never mind. They had forgotten about it. I got all of my food items in waves and to be completely honest with you it was an odd way to receive food. My experience ordering takeout is that of stars. But my experience In house, might make it to where I never return.

Changed owners since I started to visit Okane Umi. I am writing this review to point out that they and Google say they are open until 10PM. I was planning to eat there tonight, a Saturday night. They said they normally have last call 9:30PM but tonight was slow and so they had last call sooner. Not good for people who believe them when they say they are open until 10PM.

My son took me here and told me it was his Date Place. I could see why.The restaurant was clean and quiet, and the service was attentive. The food (I had both sushi and sashimi) was delicious and served in an attractive way. I definitely plan on visiting again soon.

I could have given it 3 stars instead of 4 but Ill give them the benefit of the doubt. Food was good, not great. Some of the flavors on the sushi were really strong compared to other places. Their menu either isnt updated or they dont have certain items on there at the moment. And the servers seemed new because they didnt know much on what we were ordering but they were very friendly and attentive. Place is clean and well maintained. Would like to visit again and give them another try.

Ive been to lots of sushi places over the years but this place has some of the freshest Sushi Ive ever tasted on a regular basis. If youre looking for melt-in-your-mouth great flavor this is definitely a place you should check out. Easily gets five stars! The staff is also great and wait on you hand and foot to make sure youre happy and satisfy which I always am every time I go. :)Update!!!Management has changed and the quality has gone down tremendously.

Authentic Japanese flavors! Sashimi is fresh and the wasabi doesnt taste like store bought. Wish they have combination nigiri sushi and combination sashimi so that I can have more varieties. 80 years old mom says its fresh so you know its true. Very friendly service too. Love this place!

I honestly will never go back again.Im not a picky person, but I do like my waiter to come by at least once while Im trying to spend my money to eat a meal.Not sure if we arrived too early, if thats even a thing in a restaurant, but the service was awful. Food was mediocre at best.First off, we walked inside and stood there next to several people sitting on a bench on their phones. Workers? Family? Idk. But there we stood for several minutes before being greeted by the host/waiter and told we could sit where we liked.We sat at the sushi bar since we were primarily going to order sushi.At least 15 minutes passed before he even came to offer a menu. Before he rushed away I had to flag him down for a water at least. He never came back to take any order or see if we wanted anything else.We ordered with the sushi chef who was also cold but responsive at least. Had to ask for wasabi,ginger and even soy sauce. Sushi was a little warm. But ok.After ordering a few items and not being impressed, we waited for the host/waiter to come by so we could ask for a check. Again, some time went by, and as we waited a man came in and sat near us. Low and behold, the host/waiter comes by within minutes with a menu, sets him up with chop sticks and acondiment plate, takes his order and promptly brings back a water and miso soup! Sushi chef hands him a set of wasabi and ginger! Wow! What service!I regret spending any money in this establishment.

The food is rather expensive compared to what you actually get. The flavors are very tasty and the presentation of the food is nice. Any one else think the sushi portions on rolls got smaller lately? Was my go to place since we moved to south bay because it was close.I understand times are tough and you need to cut costs. We called five times and no one ever picked up the phone so my husband went down to place order and get the food. He walked into the restaurant and waited approx. 10 minutes and no one approached him. Finally he blurted out will anyone take my order? Then he was told to go to the check in desk. Once there he was told they didn’t know why he was there. But they were watching him for the whole 10 minutes he stood there. Been here many times over the past five years and service has just gone down hill. Never coming back!

Very fresh, I went for lunch. Had the umi 7 sushi 6 pieces and 5 pieces of sashimi. Comes with miso soup(a tad bland) and salad(fresh and crisp). I also ordered the ami ebi(sweet shrimp)they were large and fresh. Finally the green tea.

Wow!! Hard to find good yellowtail anywhere these days but Okane Umi has the best around. Just melts in your mouth. And they pay attention to the small details. i.e. the rice. Good and sticky so it doesnt fall apart when you dip it. And good wasabi and ginger. Been looking for a good sushi place near me and have finally found it. Thank you Okane Umi!!

I took out Premium Omakase 10pc $38.99 and sushi & Maki set $28.99! Each also came with miso soup! Every item was delicious! The lemon sauce was so delicious! I wish the mackerel and sushi had a little more sourness! I would be happy if the tuna sushi roll had a little less rice!
