Great local place next to the river. You can watch the rafters float by while having your meal. Super friendly staff. I had breakfast and my eggs were perfect. A simple but rare feat. Definitely go when in the area.

Amazing outdoor seating area with live music. Its definitely the only place in this town worth having lunch/dinner. Many innovative vegetarian options are available. Whipped ricotta toast and purple haze vegan burger is a must try. Staff is friendly!

The BEST place. We rented out the Ol Buckaroo for our wedding reception venue via Sequoia Weddings. The food was to die for. The setting and decorations were amazing. The river view is stunning. The owner Nicky and the bartenders and chefs were so incredibly kind and took excellent care of us. They even staged my guests’ gifts that my Mom dropped off in the morning for us. And the whole setup was so simple and easy to navigate! Great for a bride so you don’t have to stress about a single thing. My guests kept raving about the experience! So happy we found this spot! Thank you for making our special day incredible. ❤️

We are obsessed with Ol’ Buckaroo in so many ways. First and foremost, the food is incredible and hands down the best in town. We live locally and have drinks, brunch and dinner here often as our go-to.We also got married here and literally cannot imagine having experienced our wedding anywhere else. The ceremony (right along the river) and reception were perfectly set up! The venue dresses up so wonderfully and the string lights add all the vibes to any outdoor event. Our guests (about 65) raved about the food, the space and the evening overall. Plus working with Nicky in all the planning was so amazing - she’s both detailed and casual in her approach which was exactly what I wanted.

We stayed in three rivers while visiting sequoia national park and found this gem of a place in the area. The food was really amazing! We were here for brunch and was an amazing meal! Crispy Brussels sprouts were the best of all! French toast was soo good too. Overall a wonderful brunch rite by the river, we took a seat outdoors and it was wonderful. We were there during the rush hour so our order was a little delayed. Staff is amazing and the service is good. Prices are reasonable as this is a local place.

If you’re visiting Sequoia National Park and want to grab a bite to eat, look no further than the Buckaroo. We only spent one day & one night in the area, but visited twice - once for brunch and again for an early dinner.The good: the food is excellent. If you sit outside in the back, it’s a great view of the river.The bad: the service is pretty slow, so be prepared to wait 30-45 minutes for your meal. Credit to the servers as they’ll tell you about the long wait.But even with the slow service, it’s worth coming here. For brunch we had the egg sandwich with potatoes and my partner got the chilaquiles. For dinner I got the fried chicken sandwich with waffle fries and she got an arugula salad.

Sorry for my poor English.We are after long and active day in Sequoia Park, tired and a bit hungry. Ol Buckaroo was chosen by chance - the first restaurant in the way after taking decision to eat something. And was the best decision! Very good service, reasonable prices and tasty food - much closer to my European expirience than with the other American restaurants. I recommend :)

Giving it four stars only because of how long you might end up waiting during peak time. I don’t think they have enough staff for how popular they are. BUT we went twice (for brunch and dinner) in a one night stay in the Sequoia area, the food and environment was that appealing to us. Plus it’s really the only place in the area like it, meaning with fresh/healthy options plus a lovely setting above the river with both indoor and outdoor seating. Also to be completely fair, our server warned us it would be a wait before we placed our order. And we really appreciated knowing that up front. I thought their homemade soda and their cocktails were superb. I loved the arugula salad with crispy shallots, pot de creme dessert and the chilaquiles which was a cool riff on the classic with pulled pork. Make sure you ask for hot sauce with the fried chicken sandwich, that’s what it was missing from the straight-off-the-menu version. Would highly recommend to friends, family - and would go back if we are in the area again.

We had dinner just before sunset and enjoyed a great view of the river. The outdoor seating offered plenty of space for us and the pup. We ordered the shrimp skewers, crispy chicken sando, and the Buckaroo Burger with bacon and avocado. The food was well portioned and delicious. Would recommend.

Visited during Thanksgiving week. The wait time at 6pm was 45mins. The service was good but could have been more polite at the table. The ambience is decent inside but the outdoor seating is pretty and cozy with lights and heaters. Coming to the food I really wanted to like this local eatery but sadly couldnt, we ordered the following:1. Chicken wings in spicy sauce - really good. Would recommend.2. Brussel sprouts appetizer - liked the ingredients in it but it was too oily and literally we all could taste oil in every bite.3. Chicken sando - the worst dish at the table because the chicken was leather hard and was so difficult to cut even with the knife. In the only bite I took, it felt like I was chewing raw chicken but I checked it was white so probably it was old or overcooked to the point where it lost all its moisture and became so hard.4. Vegan Burger - the patty was extremely dry and the burger overall didnt have any sauces. The patty didnt feel was cooked from the inside. My husband wanted to finish it but couldnt and left a few bites.5. Grilled cheese with brussel sprouts - Again very oily probably because of the same oily brussel sprouts preparation as the appetizer6. Beef burger - my friend really liked it.7. Waffle fries were soft and oily8. Regular fries were ok.I wish we had had better experience but none of us wanted to come back for another meal. Please do a quality check before serving.

We must have went on an off night. The owner was having a complete meltdown, yelling at the staff to pick it up. I mean yelling. We were sitting on the couch by the front door and heard every word. He yelling at the poor hostess as she was checking people in. We also saw more dramatics from the owner after we sat down. Walked through the restaurant with a back pack on and then he went to a shipping container muttering to himself the whole time. It put us on edge. Our food came out fast thank god. We ordered the meatballs (ok), the cranberry salad (good) the Brussel sprouts (burnt; inedible) the cauliflower (great, just needed more sauce) and the Thai chicken wings (meh). We think we ordered the shrimp skewers but after all that drama who cares??? You know the owner must be a sensitive person who really cares about his food. However, the food tasted, rushed, uneven and almost like a school lunch picnic. Having worked in restaurants for years I have the upmost sympathy. I However, have never had the misfortune to own a restaurant, so I cant believe the amount of stress he must be under. Hopefully, the owner will read this and fine tone his cooking. Who cares if there is a wait and the staff has not shown up? If the food is GREAT, it will cover a multitude of sins.

Cute find on our way out of Sequoia National Park! The blue exterior caught our attention. When we walked in, it was kinda busy but they made sure to let us know that there was a 15 minute wait. We were sat quickly and ordered as she took our drink order. We all got the white bean burger and fries (waffle and sweet potato). We ordered lemon sodas that were phenomenal.After reading some other her reviews, I do want to say that this spot is small so it can get very busy very quickly. I would make sure you are aware of that before hand.The desserts were also very great! We shared the lemon bar!!!

This restaurant had the best reviews on Yelp so my girlfriend and I decided to try it following our sequoia adventures. Its located in the small town of Three Rivers just 15 minutes outside of the Sequoia National Park entrance off highway 198. Its next to a famous subs shop and a coffee shop with plenty of parking outside. Walked in at around 7 P.M. and requested to be seated outside. The host walked us to the back of the restaurant which looked like someones backyard. There were string lights connected from a series of trees giving you the calm woods like ambiance next to the river. It was uniquely well decorated. We decided to order vietnamese wings, waffle fries, brandt farm skirt steak, and two glasses of wine. While waiting, we had an artist perform a live acoustic guitar set for the crowd. This was a nice addition to our dinner date. Good music, ambiance, and hopefully good food. Beware of flying insects if you sit outside. There was quite a bit of flies around the tables. We had waited about 40 minutes until our food finally arrived. The vietnamese wings were nicely cooked, crispy, and lightly flavored. The waffle fries came with a herbed aioli which is what you could expect. Nothing too special. Our last entree the skirt steak was amazing though! Crispy smashed potatoes, buckaroo chimichurri, and a well seasoned steak. This plate overall had an explosion of flavor. Very tender skirt steak complimented by the creamy sauce laying beneath the potatoes. I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The only issue was how long it took to get our food. I had noticed only two cooks in the kitchen as I walking out.

I had the Marys fried chicken sandwich which was hot, crispy and yummy. The wife had the Burning Man sandwich which has a chickpea patty. Both came with fries. The Ol Buckeroo was right up our alley!

That cheddar waffle has to be one of the best waffles Ive had but the fried chicken could have been crispier and everything could have used a good dash of salt. Legendary meal. Who would have thought in this little place out in the boonies, you’d eat as well as you would at a 5 star restaurant in Chicago (I’m from Chicago). This place... Michelin needs to do a tour. My friends and I tried almost everything on the menu in one sitting. Sauces were evenly disseminated, nothing was over/under cooked, prices were very fair for the quality, all local, friendly service in quaint setting. I’ll go an extra 50 miles out of my way to come back here if I’m ever in the region again.

Okay, so here the starter was good. The scallops cooked well and it has a great flavor with it. HOWEVER~~! Here the game changer... I ordered a chicken and it was 24 dollars and you get half of the chicken and homemade dressing with a green kind salad... (idk what the name was, I feel like this place is over priced...) well the breast part was juicy and nice... But it took about 50-60 min to get my plates... and never had any apologies and when I asked that if the chicken is cooked all the way through, the waitress aggressively approached and answered that it is cooked... No apologies again, she was just didn’t like an asian or something? Lol It was just such a Wow experience in Sequoia (Three river).Well now I know where not to go... The service from the kitchen was slow and the crews don’t know when to apology and move on :) please you guys are working in SERVICE industry... you are not there to fight with your guests... you are there for serving your guests with right rules and policies...

Ill just leave this here. After seeing the price of the cheapest hamburger on the menu, and having never eatin there before, we decided to go up the road a little further. I have been to one of their outdoor musical events and the music was pretty good. There was a cover charge but they were not collecting from everyone. No one was collecting at the door. Instead they had a couple of different people walk around, not together and not at the same time, asking people if they had paid. I should have just said yes since they were not doing any kind of hand stamp, wrist band, nothing. They do have a good view of the river.

Ive been here a few times and food has always been okay. But this last time I went, there was a newer employee I dont remember seeing before. Kristi was absolutely amazing. She immediately greeted my son and I with a smile. We got our food and she checked on us a few times and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. We came with two hungry cranky kids, got no service in the first 15 minutes and a 40 minute wait (which no one warned us about) only got us two coffees on the table.Chipped water glasses and coffee mugs with dirty rings left from previous customers are a norm. We didn’t stay for the food so I can’t share whether it’s good. But it was definitely not worth it for us and such a waist of precious vacation time.We both run our own businesses and I cannot fathom how places like these continue to exist!Do yourself a favor and go somewhere where you’re treated with respect.

Service not so great, I have been coming here a couple times lately and every time I come there is a girl with colored hair that continues to give attitude when we inquire about the menu, and she is very inattentive. The food is okay, this waitress will serve the food cold and won’t check up on you the rest of the night, she will however, check up on the other tables she is waiting on. Makes me feel excluded. Such neglectful behavior needs to be corrected not sure why she neglects tables. Last time she brought the food out to tables that got here after us. I continue to give this place a chance but at this point idk why the service sucks. I am disappointed because this place has lots of potential.

For the size of the town, Ol Buckaroo offers a varied menu at a great spot along the river. The first time we tried to visit they were closed during their listed open hours. The second time they were open and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Their veggie burger was undercooked, meat burger was burned and crispy, and all the fries were greasy. The food was okay, but not great. Service was excellent.

Exceptional spot for dinner in Three Rivers. Menu is short but dishes thoughtfully prepared by chef with gourmet skills. Stunning appetizer of charred shishito peppers with sea salt and lemon. Delightful homemade vinagrette on mixed green salad, crispy and well-seasoned waffle fries, spicy homemade Buffalo sauce on excellent wings, good burgers. House sodas differ by week - we tried lime ginger and blackberry black pepper that were both sublime. Service (by Kristy) rapid and friendly, with helpful recommendations. Location relaxing and scenic, with view of Kaweah River, and misters providing cool fog. We had eaten at Gateway Restaurant the day before, and Buckaroo was better all around - faster service, far more gourmet seasoning and food preparation, and lower prices.

My friends and I decided to try this place, as it came recommended from a friends coworker. I arrived after my two companions, and as I walked up they informed me that they had just witnessed 2 parties leave based solely on the rude behavior of the hostess. We have been at this place multiple times. Some of those times we noticed certain behaviors from their staff members that were a little racist, we never took them serious and we tried to excuse them from having that behavior because we didn’t want to jump to conclusions so quick. Some of the things that we noticed were that their staff wouldn’t be so attentive to POC. It was notorious that they would make sure to constantly check on caucasian folks while POC wouldn’t get the same attention. One day we were on the wait list to be seated, we were in front of a caucasian family and had already put our names down before them. First off, it is a food truck in disguise. The beef burger I tried was delicious but overpriced. Service was good. My only concern is they charge 18% gratuity after tax for every checks. That is kind of cheating since we should only tip on the value of goods, not on top of the tax. If they are charging gratuity for everyone and leaving us no other option, at least they should do it right. The girl who checked us out had a funky gratitude when I asked. Overall I would not recommend this place.

Nice place and good service, but the food was not good. The chicken came in pink and the dessert was suuuper salty (chocolate mousse with salty caramel). We got a new plate of chicken but still had to pay for the whole thing, tip already included. Quite expensive as well.

Good and innovative food. Nice place to eat overlooking the river. it is outdoor seating, so it may be problematic in bad weather, but in a town like three rivers it is really nice to see well done food that isnt the typical western fried steak and potatoes.

God created everything from nothing. But the nothingness really shows through at this place. Its a food truck but tries to be this really fancy restaurant. Its all outdoor seating with high end lawn furniture. All the food is $15/plate but served in dog dishes. The waiter took so long to find our table, I actually fell asleep while waiting. The waiter was either rude or drunk and gave me a dirty look when I asked to take the food to go. Then ontop of everything, they got my order wrong anyway. Its not even that they were particularly busy either. If you are looking for good food in this village, check out the pizza factory or the riverview tavern.....or anywhere else.

Very confusing experience. Great food, but out of 6 people 5 had mistakes in their orders, e.g. forgotten order (my brother had to eat when everybody else was finished), burger served with tomato instead of avocado, wrong kind if beer, coleslaw that wasnt ready to be served, etc. Talented, but unengaged people.

We were leaving Sequoia RV Park and needed breakfast. Google recommended Buckaroo and we are SO glad we took it! Amazing food and wonderful service! The staff couldnt have been nicer and more accomodating. We will definitely be back!

Buckaroo restaurant was a pleasant surprise to stumble upon on a random visit to Three Rivers from Visalia. The outdoor seating area was the highlight. The lights, sounds of the river, and a firepit made my experience feel relaxing and inviting. The outdoor heaters made it cozy on a chilly night. The atmosphere is family friendly but could also serve as a chill spot for friends to gather and drink around the fire.

Don’t listen to the haters. High-maintenance people will get an eye roll, everyone else will have a really enjoyable meal. Right on the river with outdoor seating and dog friendly. If you are coming on a weekend or during peak season a reservation makes sure you don’t have a wait.

As many has pointed out on here, if I could give zero to negitive stars I would. So as Andy Williams once sang Where do I begin, let me start. First off for a place that seems to have many open tables there is a 30 minute wait. Once that wait is over then you have the awesome wait to see if your server shows up. As for the menu, it is very limited and you can get a better sandwich at In-And-Out. Unless you have two hours to waste, go down the Street to the Brewery and get what they have or a frozen pizza from the convinence store. Avoid like the plague!!!!

First off the name makes you think cowboy food..but that being said we thought we would try it anyway..when we walked in the male person was playimg on his phone laptop never looked up to acknowledge us another young man asked if we would like to eat inside or out we chose outside. He was nice gave us a small paper which was a very tiny menu...waitress was sweet took our order received it in a timely manner. Slow service, waited almost over an hour and 20 minutes to get our food. I spoke to one if the workers about this and he came back to argue thats its only been an hour and then cut me id to say its coming and walked away. He later apologized and removed drinks from my bill. I saw 3 couples leave during the time I was there because after being sat they did not get a server to come.
