Old Taro in Fremont

Loved everything here! Super authentic and everything was fresh. The beef noodle soup had thick and chewy noodles and the mochi came out warm and soft. The cabbage in pork stew and pork buns were so delicious too. I took the spicy peanuts home and finished them the next day.

Classic family owned Taiwanese restaurant that offers a lot savory pastry to-go. Their traditional noodle soups has well cooked noodle with the QQ texture and big serving size. However, the soup flavor is very average.The food serves quickly and the service is very friendly. Cute amateur-like decor with a lot of seatings. You order via QR code and pay cash/card. They do offer a pay with cash discount. Plenty of free parking in the plaza. Expect to pay $25-30 per person. I wouldnt mind coming back, Im just not in a rush to. I recommend checking it out if you want a quick meal to curb your Taiwanese cravings.

The prices at Old Taro are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. The service is also friendly and efficient.

Thanks for making such delicious food and it makes me miss my hometown.The cold noodles are even better than most of the restaurants in Taiwan. We love it so much.

Taiwan-style bistro/restaurant with fairly authentic Taiwanese dishes. I also like the decor that includes Taiwanese street Knick knacks which brings back memories.

I’ve gotten food from this place a few times during the pandemic, and was eager to try dine in again after they reopened.I got there around 11:45 on a Saturday, and the dine-in area was already 80% full. Additionally there was a line of people waiting for take out outside. I was a little intimidated and almost left, but the owner helped me order and I actually got my food quickly.I was going to get the beef noodle soup as per my usual, but saw they had the squid vermicelli special during the weekend and couldn’t resist. The food was yummy! I forgot to ask for no cilantro… had to pick them out. :DI would say food taste, quality, and value is still a solid 5 stars. However, the pure chaos of the place right now knocked it down a star. I was going to buy some more food for tomorrow/next week, but thought better of it and didn’t want to bother them with more orders. I’ll come back in a little bit, once things calm down more and staff gets more used to the operation.

Ordered spicy beef stew with thick noodles and a side pan fried bao.Noodle was al dente which I liked. Beef stew was tender. Adding the chili oil (not chili sauce) brings out the flavor of the soup.Side of pan fried bao was good; crispy and soft texture on outside and meat/cabbage filling was good.Lots of tables.

Visit this restaurant today. Order beef noodle and pork chop over rice. Everything is ok but I feel not intriguing my enthusiasm about Taiwanese food. Beef noodle has only vegetable and few beef. Pork chop over rice is only seen as a plain lunch box to me. The part of store has been occupied with inventory which I feel eating in a warehouse. Hope this place could make some changes and people will come back again in the future.

Saw some not so good reviews, took us a while to visit the restaurant, surprisingly, noodles are great, payries are awesome, excellent services.
