Neighbourhood cafe in a great location. Food is tasty, indoor and outdoor seating available. Pet friendly too. Keep in mind there can be a wait for a table. We took the opportunity to walk down to the pier and back and do a little window shopping.
Very nice atmosphere, attentive wait staff. The eggs, sausage, toast, pancakes, fruit and coffe were excellent. But the chicken fried steak seemed like it was frozen, mass-produced. Dry and tasteless, so, Id pass on it if I went again.
Havent been here since Covid but decided to come backFood is just as great - service is spot on. even scrambled up one of my favorites, which wasnt on the menu anymore..and just like I remember!They have some outside dining now. Wont seat party unless everyone is there -fair.Lots of locals come here too
Finally got to try this place. It is always packed on the weekend so we came on a Monday before 9am. Plenty of tables to choose from. We chose a table away from the door since it was still chilly this morning.I ordered the chilaquiles with ranchero sauce. It came with a choice off a side or beans and rice. I chose the beans & rice.Small inside seating so get here early. Only open for breakfast & lunch. Definitely coming back.
I love this place so much. The staff is amazing and the food is always delicious. I’m thankful they’ve been open during the covid times with ample seating in the front of the shop.I recommend all of their different breakfast items. I usually get the Belgian waffle and two eggs with bacon or sausage. The waffles are always soft and fluffy while the eggs are cooked perfectly. The bacon and sausage are always good too.I highly recommend stopping by this place if you are in the area. It’s worth a drive to as well.
First heard of this place on Burros Bites and since then have been coming here. The meals here are to die for. You cannot go wrong on what you order. The staff are so very polite, attentive to your needs. My wife and I highly recommend anyone to come give this place a try. We definitely have found a gem.

What a find on my end, but locals all know about this place. It truly is amazing and delicious.
They serve breakfast all day, which is great when you have a hankering for French Toast for lunch. But I found their decaf coffee lukewarm and bitter. Maybe regular coffee is the way to go here.
Good breakfast. The green chilaquiles are their best dish. The corned beef hash is canned. The pancakes are good. The coffee is weak.
Good diner food. Service is great here. Dont expect anything fancy and you will be pleased. You do get a lot of food for the price. I had the ham scramble with a pancake. Also, get here early. The seats fill up pretty quickly.
Larger than expected breakfast. DELISH! Waffle as big as my face. Melted butter was not expected and definately made the waffle experience.

Went for breakfast. Absolutely best waffle Ive ever had. They serve the waffle with melted butter so you can pour the butter into every cranny. Much better than when you go somewhere else and they give you hard cold butter that doesnt spread. They provided plenty of syrup. Didnt have to ask.The bacon was cooked perfectly. Our group of 14 was walking down the sidewalk in the rain and happened upon this place. They were super friendly and accommodating. Everyone ordered something different and everyone came away happy. Not everyone loves kids but this was a very family friendly cafe. I would recommend this to anyone!
Great spot for a quick sit down breakfast, with yourself, couples, or family! Friendly service.Lots of food choices! Breakfast menu had a variety of items. Waffles and french toast offered a lot of delicious toppings.My husband got the belgian waffle with nutella and bananas. It was big, nice crisp, and an abundant amount of banana slices plus the drizzle of Nutella. It looked good. I had a chicken Cesar salad. Chicken was grilled perfectly, not dry or tough. Good portion.My son ordered a simple breaksfast. Place was kid friendly as well.(They have a great kids menu for breakfast. We just got a simple eggs and bacon breakfast. But the side of fruit was a plus. It wasnt just one or two kinds of fruit... they gave bananas, watermelon, mango, apples, cantaloupe, blueberries, and strawberries. My son loves fruit so lucky us! We sat at the patio in front so yeh can be a bit scary if your kid likes to run off... ours does to a certain extent. But other than that the atmostphere was acceptable. )

The friendly service and food are great, I had an omelette with hash browns, biscuits and gravy and was delicious. The coffee is very good along with the people that you meet in conversation plus there is usually a line waiting outside. That is usually a good sign for any place that is very good.
Went for breakfast with my visiting nephew to show him the quaint downtown area of Main Street in old Town Seal Beach. There was a nice cool ocean breeze.. We had the option of outdoor dinning or inside. We chose inside by the open window. The Eggs Benedict with Crab meat. Avocado and Tomato slices were great. We each ordered that dish with Apple and Guava juice and Coffee. A very pleasant experience with great service by the two waitresses. Then after breakfast walked half a block to the pier to visit Sammy the Seal statue at the pier. Every one likes to take a selfie with Sammy. We posted with this review a bike tour group posing with Sammy. Presently the outdoors dinning option closes at noon, and indoor option closes at 1:30 pm.
My son and I have been coming here for years now. The staff are great and so friendly. The food is fab and also the coffees that they always refill 👍🏼

I’ve eaten here before and it’s always been decent, enough to go back. But this last time was awful. Staff was wonderful but totally unaware of the coffee stained mug I was handed. It was definitely dirty on all sides. Ugh. They need to do something about the flies, all over the food, coffee cups and utensils. I was so put off, didn’t drink my coffee and left most of my food behind.
What a wonderful place! Daisy and Leslie are the sweetest servers, and the food was amazing. The peanuts butter and jelly French Toast did not disappoint! So delicious! Thank you for the wonderful service and experience while we are here on vacation. Can’t find this kind of service back home in Texas!

Yummy breakfast, generous servings and great service! All the right factors for a good cafe. The coffee was not half bad and all the creamer choices right at your table is especially convenient and personalized! Make sure you get here early enough to get seating as it fills up fast, especially in the summer months. Otherwise, get ready to wait Its located right down the street from the pier, so its a nice way to walk off you breakfast after youre all done.
Go every Friday. We love the menu, the food, and the service is great with the exception of 1 really young girl but she might be shy.

What amazing service by the two sisters who own this place. And the food is fantastic. They genuinely care about each customer, know many of them by name and make everyone feel welcome. Get there early because there us always a wait-- a sure sign of how popular this place is. And Main street is such a nice hidden gem.
Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Even borderline bubbly attitude. The tables are mainly 2 and 4 tops. Only about 4 tables will fit parties of 5-6. The food is definitely worth it. Dont worry about being concerned about bringing kids. It totally acceptable for kids to be on the louder side of the experience. Salsa and jams are always homemade.
Great diner food, and the staff are so friendly! Most breakfast dishes hang around the $10 range. Its not a large place and is popular, so if you come during peak times, you can expect a wait of~30 minutes, sometimes more. But there are lots of love shops to check out while you wait!

Aloha french toast with side of eggs and bacon AND Breakfast Skillet w/ side of pancake. French toast was nice and cinnamony!Both real good. I completely devoured the skillet! I usually get over easy eggs and this is my 1st time trying sunny-side up. Let me tell you that they were not runny like youd expect. I actually enjoyed them. Prices are decent too! Would def come back!
On March 14th I was served at Old Town Cafe the worst omelette Ive ever eaten. Omelette is in quotes since it didnt qualify as one. What I was served were scrambled eggs that had been over fried flipped over with the ingredients I ordered inside. The eggs had spread out so far that it was paper thin and very dry. I asked the server if this was supposed to be an omelette. That is an omelette. Thats the way we make them. There is a difference between fried scrambled eggs and an omelette.
I was pleasantly surprised to see they had a gluten-free option for their plethora of pancake flavors. Their home fries were delicious also. Staff is very friendly and care that your food is up to par. I was also feeling the oldies, but goodies playing lightly in the background.
Pork Tamales with green salsa were delicious! Highly recommend. Not too much masa, very good.
Service was great! Very upbeat and attentive. Food was YUM!!!! Everything we saw come out of the kitchen looked enticing. We wanted to order the whole menu but that gives us an excuse to come back. I got got the Ortega chili omelette with homemade hashbrowns with pancake and my friend got the vegetarian omelette. Both entrees were incredible. We also decided that we share the pumpkin bread French toast.....mmmmm to die for with whipped topping. You have to get there before 9 to cut the wait. It is worth the wait for sure.
Good food, friendly staff, family owned and one of my favorite places for weekend breakfast. Still a favorite 5 years after my review and many, many trips here. I have never felt the food missed, its solid cafe food from my viewpoint.
The best place to get breakfast that I know of anywhere. Ive been going here since before I can even remember. Its always felt like the heart of Seal Beach to me. The staff are wonderful and treat everyone like family.I recommend the banana belgian waffles, the bacon breakfast burrito, and the blueberry muffins 😌

Went on a Sunday morning around 0815 and waited for about 20 minutes. I had poached eggs in hollandaise sauce which was okay didnt like the sweetness of the sauce. My wife ordered a ground beef scramble that came with shredded beef. It is very small inside so dont expect any privacy. On a bright note our service was great.

A Small Seal Beach diner, It is a locals favorite and mine also. Located on main Street this place earns their customers business, through kind service, amazingly beautiful dishes that taste great. You will need patience, to get in the diner, but it is a special treat well worth the wait. Tip well.
Excellent food, very casual, for after or before the beach restaurant. Must try all their wonderful breakfast, brunch and lunch items. The menu is pack with delicious and nutritious choices like fruit bowls, omelettes, breakfast burritos, hamburgers, waffles, and other traditional breakfast foods. Their restaurant salsa is delicious, spicy, but so good. As a common practice, love ordering from their special menu for the day; always something fresh and new for those picky taste buds. You may ask, how about the price, well, it is just right.
The food and service (especially the service) is excellent here! Parking can be a little difficult to find on Main Street and there is usually a wait to get seated, but it is well worth the wait. The reason I say that the service is excellent is because the workers really go out of their way to make sure that the customers are satisfied. I noticed this with the table right next to mine. There was a food item that a particular customer did not care for (my interpretation was a flavor issue, not a food quality issue), and the waitress offered to swap it out for another side (bacon). The customer was shy about it and politely declined, so the waitress was kind enough to take the item off the bill. I think Ive found my favorite breakfast/brunch spot in the Seal Beach area!
Food is great! We went there after seeing it on the KTLA Sunday News. Chris Burros did his Burros Bites & it was featured. Saw some interesting dishes being served & the Wife & I decided to go. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Will be going there again soon! A real surprise!!
Love this little place on Main St in Seal Beach. It was my first time but I definately will go back. Everything being brought to the tables around me looked so good. I had the protein Tuna sandwich with tortilla soup. Superb!
Iconic seal Beach breakfast / lunch cafe.Look, its not fancy, its all the way around decent food. Its not particularly expensive, its not particularly inexpensive. Youre going to get your coffee cup refilled regularly here, the Mexican cooks in the back make a mean machaca, omelets are usually on point. Ive been coming here since I was a child.
Saw this place on KTLA 5 morning news the other day and just had to go. omg!!! The food and service at this lovely little place is beyond awesome. Was so hard to choose from the menu but ALL of the food on the tables looked too delicious. Long wait but well worth it. The manager is wonderful along with all the hosts/hostess and waitresses. Absolutely a MUST if you’re in town. Oh and the pricing is way affordable. Excellent food with excellent pricing LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!!

Chilaquiles with eggs are the best. I always come back here for those specifically!

2023-07-30 19:47:35Best breakfast cafe!They open at 7am and I recommend getting there when they open. By 830 there’s a 30 minute wait line for a table.The employees are friendly and welcoming. The food is exceptionally above and beyond. We ordered the tropical fruit French toast, green salsa chilaquiles, and pancakes. Green salsa is delicious! It has the perfect spice, it doesn’t burn or linger in your mouth. The hot chocolate is wonderful for the kids, and coffee is great!The portions are also great you will take some food to go!

Do you want to get there early… This place was a Brother quickly!Portions are great! And there are so many other things to try that I will definitely be coming back !

2023-10-27 20:37:49Great selection for breakfast. Everything tasted fresh. Even the turkey sausage patty didnt taste like it was previously frozen. LOTS of fresh fruit, ripe, and beautifully sliced. Nice breeze and view of Main Street from the window tables. Music came on halfway through the meal, which altered the peaceful vibe.

2023-11-02 20:23:09Good food, ordered green chiaquiles and Cobb salad. The chips were crunchy and sauce was flavorful. The Cobb salad had lots of crumbled bacon and fresh avocado. Definitely coming back to try other items. Staff friendly.
