2023-11-30 08:36:44The best way I can describe my 5 star review is with the name of the restaurant, Omakase Por Favor (Leave it to me Please) and the two sisters do not disappoint. I ordered the Omakase a six dish meal that was well thought out and delicious. The Chef demonstrated a superb understanding on how to combine and balance flavors, Japanese - Mexican fusion. Don’t take my word for it, visit her yourself and you’ll see she has an important understanding of flavor profiles that will dazzle you with flavorful dishes every time she cooks for you. So do yourself a favor and leave it to her, please.

2023-11-04 20:29:44Omakase Por Favor was an amazing experience with unique food and wine pairings! The chef and staff were so kind explaining each course and pairing. We got to spend a lot of time with them because we went early. We had oyster shooters and I had a caviar bump (taste on my hand, it was so good I almost ate my hand! ) Then we had a six course meal. I took some pictures, but I was so engrossed with the food... It was an extraordinary meal with combination of foods, flavors and textures wed never had. We will definitely go back!

2023-10-27 02:58:17Every dish served was fantastic. Trust the chef and get the Omakase! They were able to recommend wines and sake for each dish, and we had a delightful dessert of toasting smores with their house made marshmallows! Service was fantastic, drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere was wonderful.

2023-10-21 18:42:11I stepped outside of my comfort zone for dinner at Omakase Por Favor, and found myself confidently swimming in a sea of both familiar and new combinations of flavor.Set in a modern, unassuming space, it’s clear in an instant that a lot of thought went into Omakase Por Favor. I commented to my dining partner that even the restroom had distinct and tasteful personality. With a menu that leans into local, seasonal ingredients, Chef Jeana showcases her roots in Mexican cuisine. Every ingredient here serves a thoughtful function, has a role to play for each dish. From the delicate house ponzu that accompanied a bright and flavorful crab hand roll, to the perfectly fried sturgeon skin chicharron on which was served a delightful caviar. When Chef Jeana presented a tuna dish atop a tostada, she admitted that the tuna slices were a bit heavy handed, and I panicked when I saw the thick pieces atop the tostada. Panic turned to bliss when I placed the tuna in my mouth, however, and the tuna melted on my tongue. Chef Jeana described how she broke down this 77-pound creature the day before, and I barely heard a word as I savored the buttery texture. The tostada and cilantro crema were a fine accompaniment to this dish, punctuated by tangy pomegranate arils, but the star was the soft, plentiful tuna. The service was delightful and friendly; the intimate dining room allows for personalized attention from waitstaff who were approachable and clearly passionate about what Omakase is poised to do to the foodie scene in Lincoln and the immediate region. They were excited about the dining experience they provided, and their energy was contagious. The food at Omakase remains grounded, in part due to authentic, local ingredients prepared without ego or hubris. Omakase Por Favor’s dishes clearly aim to celebrate food, not its chefs, though they clearly deserve that recognition as well. The concept of omakase is all about trusting the chef and her staff to curate and assemble ingredients into a delicious and memorable meal. Chef Jeana and her crew have definitely proven themselves worthy of that trust, and I will no doubt be back, asking for more, ‘por favor’.

2023-10-20 03:43:21Wow!! Just finished dinner here and ordered so much, leaving so full but not heavy. The ambiance, the staff, the food, everything was amazing. The tuna tostada and elote chicken salad were my favorites!

2023-11-13 01:19:37Not for everyone. We went for it and chose the Omakase (chefs choice) and wine pairing as we wanted to give this restaurant a chance to impress. I like raw seafood but I couldnt eat half the dishes as they werent palatable. The one thing that was really good was the Tostada (cant remember which one) and when I said Id gladly eat two of those on my next visit I was told I couldnt order them as theyre only on the Omakase menu. When we questioned why everything was raw they told us they dont actually have an oven -- just a torch and induction burner. One of their tenets is to cook without fat and it comes through as many of the dishes lacked flavor. So, think raw seafood without fat. The kicker was the final bill at over $200 per person. We left hungry, thirsty, and disappointed.Theres some creativity here and were I in NYC I wouldnt have been as shocked by the bill but this is Lincoln and the food wasnt that great. The service was so rushed that we often had to scarf down our small bites to make room for the next course as they arrived one on top of another and there was no room on the table. Maybe its your cup of tea but not ours. We came with an open mind but left with a nearly empty stomach and wallet.

2023-11-15 02:32:18Wow! We were simply blown away by this meal. The care that is put into every aspect of each dish is obvious. Chef Jeana is amazing. We cant wait to go again. A fine dining experience similar to The Kitchen in Sacramento if you choose the omakase option, but you can also order a la carte. From the sourcing of the oyesters to the house made ponzu sauce to the excellent wine and sake pairings this restaurant is an experience that you do not want to miss.

The cocktails are artisanal wonders, each sip a prelude to the gastronomic journey ahead. The six-course meal is a symphony of flavors, a testament to the chefs creativity and expertise. What truly elevates the experience is the impeccable wine pairings, each glass impeccably enhancing the essence of every dish. This restaurant transcends mere dining; its an oasis of culinary passion and attention to detail. The staffs attentiveness and the seamless transition between courses create a magical evening. Omasake Por Favor isnt just a place to eat; its an exploration of taste, a space where memories are crafted, and flavors linger long after the last course is savored.
