Ooka Sushi & hibachi steak House in Riverside

On Sunday we waited for half an hour to be seated at hibachi table. Ordered a cajun seared salmon as an appetizer, it was amazing. Hibachi (teppanyaki) itself comes with a house salad bowl and miso soup as an appetizer. We ordered steak and shrimp, steak and scallops, and steak and chicken with two fried rice and one steam rice. All were good. They serve noodle and a selection of vegetables with your meats. I can tell it is a lot of food and almost everyone needed a box for rest of food. Our chef was great, nice and funny. The cooking comes with lots of fun act and shows. All the food with two beers for three persons with tax and tip came out 175 bucks. I think price is good for food, service, chef and the food portions. Definitely recommend this place. Can’t wait to come back for Ooka sushi section.

Ambience was really nice, restaurant was very busy but they were able to fit my party in (3 walk-ins) anyways. food was really good! highly recommend the garlic edamame, tortilla tuna bites, the lamb chops, their fried rice and calamari! for drinks, the piña colada and mango passion soda was super yummy. our server was super nice and everything was brought out super quick. food was fresh and delicious as always! will definitely be coming back!

Great atmosphere 👌 food is always amazing 👏 I came during lunchtime, and the wait was 12 minutes.

Great place, tempora, edamama, miso soup and fried rice all where superb. The lamchops with risotto where great, great is a understatement, would go here every day 😀

Dust EVERYWHERE. They need to clean. Service and chef not as willing to help me with dietary restriction as the last time I was here in 2022. They were closing up the place 20 minutes before closing (taking soy sauce away etc). Waiter disappeared and didnt even get us more water. Then they tack on an automatic gratuity to the bill.

Went for my bday like always great food. Only thing is they automatically add the gratuity to your check. Which I didnt l like. They added $25.00 on top of our bill

Ooka has delicious food in a fun setting. This review is specifically for the hibachi grill, not the sushi bar. The food is good, and my only note about the food is that the portions of the proteins (steaks, salmon, chicken, etc.) are VERY small. The New York steaks are 6 ounce cuts, which is small. That being said, its still plenty of food, because the hibachi meals include salad, clear soup, rice, noodles, the protein, and a couple shrimps. The quality of the show varies widely, but its generally fun. And the scallops were perfectly prepared. Ive been here several times, and have always been pleased.

The server was rude; however, the cook was excellent. There was a clear lack of communication because I had to remind the server I had brought a cake. The bill was nearly triple the original price, and when I asked for the automatic gratuity to be removed, they brought the bill back and blamed it on a system error. I still think that this experience could have been better considering this is supposed to be a nicer establishment.

Great place for family dinners and date night alike. Make reservations for Teppan grill or sushi bar. Large place but always busy so make a reservation. Full bar with Tvs to watch sports games. Good service, good food and plenty of parking available.
