We ordered the special-priced roast duck, stir-fried pea shoots in broth, and salted fish with eggplant. First, the portion of the stir-fried pea shoots in broth was quite generous, and it tasted delicious. We also ordered the special-priced roast duck, which came as a whole duck, freshly out of the oven, with crispy and fatty skin. We had to carve the duck ourselves. We need to order side dishes for the roast duck separately. The salted fish with eggplant had a bit more oil, but it had an authentic and savory flavor. Its worth mentioning that the service staff were friendly and patiently addressed any questions we had. Overall, the roast duck was a great deal, while some other dishes were slightly more expensive, they had excellent flavors.

I recently visited OTH and was blown away by their delicious dim sum. Every bite was a flavor explosion in my mouth! The menu was extensive, and I tried several dishes, but some of my favorites included the shrimp dumplings, pork buns, and egg tarts. The shrimp dumplings were perfectly steamed with a delicate wrapper that didnt overpower the juicy filling. The pork buns were fluffy and moist, with a generous amount of tender pork inside. The egg tarts were rich and creamy, with a buttery crust that crumbled in my mouth. The service was also excellent. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, and they helped us navigate the menu to find the best dishes. The restaurant was clean and had a pleasant atmosphere, making for a lovely dining experience. Its clear that the chefs take pride in their craft and use only the freshest ingredients to create authentic and delicious dishes. I cant wait to go back and try more.

It’s well known good Chinese food can come with bad/average service, so I overlooked the under 4.0 reviews that talked about their bad service. Chinese BBQ was decent, veg was decent, Salt and pepper shrimp was over cooked and not deveined. At $24 a plate, that’s hard to accept. Talked to manager (in Cantonese), literally gave some non-explanation that “it’s frozen shrimps, just the way it is, would have had to thaw it to clean it”, and mumbled similar response when I responded “so I’m just supposed to eat the shrimp with the poop attached to it because you didn’t thaw the shrimp before cooking?” Literally walked away, no apology, no “I’ll talk to the kitchen for next time”. When it was time to pay, charged us 18% tip automatically even with only a party of 3, probably because of concerns they messed up and we would stiff (wasn’t going to do that). So maybe don’t order the S&P shrimp or maybe specify for them to clean it before cooking (it literally takes seconds to pull it out with a tooth pick).

Visited last night. It was the first time I’ve been back since the ownership has been changed. This means that the menu has been changed. Unfortunately my favorite dishes are no longer on the menu. This was super disappointing.I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try different dishes. My husband wanted shrimp fried rice and we got chicken and corn soup, beef chow mein, half a duck, Chinese broccoli and mango pudding. My kids loved the mango pudding. I prefer fatter chow mein noodles myself but the soup was good and the mango pudding was good too. The Chinese broccoli was probably the tastiest dish we ordered. You can order it to be cooked a variety of ways but we just got the stir fried with garlic.I didn’t add extra soy sauce or sauces to anything but my salt loving husband did and said it was good.Overall, the food was fine. They forgot to give us bowls for our soup until a few minutes later (after bringing the big bowl to the table) when I got someone’s attention. Most restaurants bring bowls out right away when you order soup or already have them on the table so your soup doesn’t sit there and get cold when it comes out. Also, the mango pudding dessert was brought out with all the other food which is distracting to the kids who just want to eat dessert all day… it should be brought at the end when you are done with all the other food.I do miss my old favorite dishes but it was ok. We probably won’t go as much as we used to though. The floor wasn’t super clean (saw a crumpled napkin two tables over and a duck bone on the ground at the table next to us) and the entryway smelled like cigarette smoke.

The food is generally tasty and arrived at a decent pace. The cheung fun was going to take 30 minutes so we cancelled that order. Only had a problem with the siu Mai being flavorless and the tripe was too chewy. Loved the eggy lava buns. Also we were seated immediately Saturday morning, despite how busy it seemed. It’s great that there’s additional rooms. Only problem is that folks are smoking right in front of the entrance and the smell wafts through the whole restaurant.

Food is great. You can take your time and brew your own tea. If you have your own zisha teapot or gaiwan even better. Check out the weekday specials posted near the door or ask your server. You CAN have your dim sum and eat it too.

What a dump! We were tired, hungry and wanted honest comfort food.... Its not here. Owners have no pride nor do they care about their restaurant. Restaurant is run down, dirty and overall very depressing. Ordered Curry chicken and it had ZERO taste, almost like water, rice and chicken.... My lunch partner had vegetable beef and said her beef was so hard she couldnt chew it and the bokchoi was very old. She wanted to complain, send it back and I said, lets just eat and get out of here.... What a horrible experience. Def wont come back here again and YOU would be well advised to STAY away. Im noticing a trend of Chinese owners who want to make big profits but theyre cheap and not willing to invest in a quality environment or quality food. Its really sad... I really found it ironic but consistent with the way they do everything else so badly that their good luck fish was neglected and looked like it was on death row.... The tank water was very low and the tank appeared to not have been cleaned in many months, maybe years. See my photos for more... This place is embarrassing. Bad food, bad choice, filthy dirty, broken down furniture and building, strange, unhealthy vibe.... The only good thing is we didnt get food poisoning.

It breaks my heart to write this review because east bay needs more bomb dim sum places like this one. And honestly the food here is pretty good. If I were to rate this restaurant just for the food it would probably be a 3.5 maybe even a 4. Thats not the only variable that matters however and Ill explain how this rating drops once we start factoring in things like price and service. What really brings the rating down is their customer service, inconsistency and greed. This fathers day my wife made a $150 order for pickup. The first problem here is the price. Nearly everything on this menu is $9 and up. For $9 I could have an entire meal and be full, but here $9 might get you a side order of cold cucumbers. So as you can imagine $150 didnt really get us a lot of food. The worst part about things being over priced is WHEN THEY MESS UP YOUR ORDER. My wife waited nearly 2 hours to pick up our delivery and after all of that waiting and a 20 min drive home later we found 2 items missing from our order ($20 worth of food!). That is completely unacceptable. When you are charging these types of prices and making customers wait this long, we expect quality and professionalism. I can maybe understand them giving us a wrong item, or even missing 1 item in a $150 order BUT NOT $20 worth of food from two completely different items. On FATHERS DAY.Honestly if they were too busy to ensure correctness and quality they should not have even taken our order. I can only imagine the reason they queue orders to be 2 hours delayed is because the owner is trying to save up for a new Lambo or something because no other restaurant would do that without at least giving the customer a strict warning. No one told us it would be a 2 hour wait. And when we called to try to remedy the issue, no one picked up. Again I can only imagine it was probably because the owner was out playing golf with the $20 worth of food be keeps ripping off from customers.Overall dont come here. Too busy. Too pricey. Bad customer service and the food is just okay. There are better dim sum places in the bay. Oh and thanks for ruining Fathers day.
