Original Mikes Diner in Elk Grove

A chill 50s themed diner. They have jukeboxes almost at every table. I ordered a New York strip steak and a root beer float. Both were delicious. The waiter was also very kind and attentive. I hope to come back here sometime.

The Original Mikes is a 50s style diner with delicious food and wonderful customer service. There is often a wait for a table, yet the regulars keep coming back and back again. Worth the wait!

NEVER DISAPPOINTS!! Blast from the past Great diner. The menu is excellent, and the service and atmosphere for great prices.. all are amazing. Got no complaints. Food and service are always top-notch. At peak hours, there can be a good 30-minute wait, but it is completely worth it. Im definitely going back again and also highly recommending to family and friends.

Came in for Saturday morning breakfast. It was pretty busy but we were seated right away. Hostess took our drink order right away as we waited for our waitress. Love the old diner look.I ordered country fried steak with hash browns and sausage n gravy. Country fried steak was delicious. Hash browns were pretty standard. Biscuits and gravy were cold so I only took a bite.My kiddo had chicken tenders with fries and a side of corn bread. Chicken tenders were good. Juicy and not dry. Fries were basic and kind of limp. Delicious corn bread & honey.

It’s rare to find a place in Elk Grove that the meal price is reasonable. With everything being so unreasonable expensive, we are happy that this place is keeping the menu price low.And of course this is not the only reason we enjoyed here. The food is decent and big portions. The waitress is friendly, experienced, and fast!

Comfy place with great service and food, what more could one ask for? Good prices and a Juke box at the roomy booths? Yes, those too. Real milkshakes with the steel container served with your full glass? Yup. Excellent array of burgers and sandwiches? Yessir. Breakfast ALL day? Those too. I have been coming here for about 20 years and its a reliable, relaxing American Diner experience with lots of parking. I definitely recommend you try it out.

Stopped in for breakfast at lunchtime, and diners are my absolute favorite. My sister ordered a waffle, and my mom ordered French toast, while I ordered a skillet. Absolutely delicious, and the Arnold Palmer I ordered was made perfectly. Some places brew the tea a little too dark for me so its bitter, but this was perfect and it was incredibly refreshing mixed with the lemonade. Our hostess and server were both incredibly friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning here in the future!

We were the first diners of the day, the restaurant was prepping to have the busiest day of the year the following day. The decor was super cute 50s themed, they had little jukeboxes at the booths. The restrooms were clean and very well maintained. The menu was quite large and took a bit for me to go through. I decided on a California Style Eggs Benedict and I was not disappointed. I have tried many styles of Eggs Benedict and I would say this is one of my top 2 favorites. My husband had a scramble and his food tasted delicious as well. Im also going to add in that the orange juice was the best orange juice I have ever had. Im not sure if the juice was fresh squeezed or how it was done, or what brand but it was, but definitely the best Ive had in 43 years of living. Waitress was attendant, friendly, and happy to answer my questions.

I came here for lunch yesterday...I had a Groupon for a while worth 16.00.As soon as I walked in I was greeted. They took my drink order which was the strawberry lemonade...oh my was it so good...My waitress was very efficient and kept checking in me. She took my order right away.I ordered the route 66 burger and fries for 12.99.The burger was so good. They put two onion rings on there...battered wonderfully...I loved the BBQ sauce. I would definitely order this again.The fries were absolutely perfect...crunchy outside...tender inside...and the ranch...homemade and delicious...If your looking for a wonderful service and food and you are in Elk grove...you should try this place...

Place was very good. I felt like eating breakfast at 7pm, and this place satisfied that craving perfectly. Food tasted good and was well worth my money. Its also not far from my house and the server was very friendly. The reason I left a 4 star is because Ive been to places where the potatoes and eggs feel fresher and more delicious than homemade cooking (Crickets Country Kitchen in Sacramento), while here it was just good and the bread had way too much butter (I would ask for bread with butter on the side next time). If you dont want to drive that far from Elk Grove and want something that doesnt close at 2pm though, this place is perfect. I gotta say though, the bacon was the best-cooked bacon Ive ever had.
