Admission is $4 per person, cash only.I was born and raised in China. I have been to many grand temples in China. But the place hits different. It was built by the Chinese traveled here during the Gold Rush. Exploring the lives of the Chinese in Northern California from a century ago is truly fascinating. This place resembles more of a shrine than a temple because temple is generally used for Buddhist religious worship and the living quarters of monks. This place is dedicated to various mythological deities, including the plaque that reads Hall of the Sacreds.

Beautiful, informative experience for a small price. I definitely recommend. I took my hubby on a date here and then we went to the Tong Fong Low restaurant. They are connected in a way. Youll see why when you visit.

Wonderfully preserved, historical temple site. The docent was very knowledgeable and answered all questions, very helpful. The garden within the complex is inspiring. Give yourself ample time to wander around, browse the artifacts and take in the vibes.

Ive visited the one in Weaverville and Marysville as well, and this one is by far the BEST! Although it probably has the least impressive exterior, this one has the most to see. You can walk right up to the altar, and there are so many other rooms and exhibits to explore, in addition to the main temple. This temple is also the most easily accessible, and the best part is, its completely self-guided.This is one I can visit over and over and never get tired.Best museum in Butte County, by far!

This is in Oroville?!? Beautiful temple with a shocking amount of artifacts for being in such a random place... But not that random, i wont spoil the history of the place. Well worth the $3 entry fee.

Its a small temple. One room is the temple, another a kitchen, a small auditorium and a small conference room. It is Japanese but used by the Chinese. It has a small garden in front with koi fishes and a large parking lot. I visited during the Bok Kai festival. This temple was used as the headquarters.
