Really nice Japanese sushi restaurant located in a nice area. Everything about it perfect. Great food, great service, and drinks. Only downside are the portion sizes. You have to order 3-4 sushi rolls per person.The lamb chops are 1 bite each, and they have no flavor.

They have a vegan roll that’s not listed on the menu. Sweet potato and other delicious ingredients, highly recommend it. Also note, the wasabi is quite hot, more than most Japanese places I’ve been.

This might be great for some people… For me, I thought it was the best version of truly unhealthy Japanese food. I guess it’s a thing… But why would you deep fry sushi?Excessive heavy sauces… Just everything was so over the top I had to finally just order some sashimi so I can taste the plane food.Again, a lot of other people would love this. If you’re looking for something very rich, this is the place to go.

Portions were small, prices high and the food was mediocre (woke up with stomach pain that night). Waiters kept trying to take my plate while I was still eating. Could also use some soft surfaces as the ambient noise level was very high.

Maybe we went on an off night but the service was slow, there were multiple kids/crying babies, and our sushi was just so so. There is a ton of great sushi options in this neighborhood and I was bummed that Osake missed the mark for us as so many people seem to enjoy it. Compared to the other spots around, it seemed quite pricy and the traditional complementary add-ons like miso soup and/or Japanese salad are an extra charge.

Oh my gosh, what a wonderful place with very friendly staff, wonderful service and the best Asian food EVER!We each had the Bento box, everything in it was mouthwatering delicious. We highly recommend this wonderful restaurant, don’t miss it👏👏👏The prices are reasonable, we upped the bill because we ordered a bottle of delicious Kendall Jackson Chardonnay.

I have no idea how this restaurant gets the reviews it does I just ordered a simple California roll with real crab a rock and roll and an order of Hamachi and I can only imagine that gas station sushi would taste better than what I ate let alone the portion of Hamachi, so maybe it was an off night, but with the prices that I paid for it they shouldnt have an off night. So if youve got a lot of money to burn and you dont care what it taste like go to this place maybe the people that gave a good review have never eaten at a good Japanese restaurant.

Nice little spot with very good food and service. I had a lunch special of prawns with vegetables and garlic sauce and loved it. Sampled crab appetizer and prawns too and was happy. Good staff, nice outdoor sidewalk patio too.

Awful service, My cup was empty for a while. Until the end Nobody refills the drink. The dish when I put soy sauce in it was a insect inside. They take it away not even say sorry. When I left, usually all the restaurant has someone to say bye have a good night. But that person just watch me go.3 stars because the food was ok. But I wont go there again.

This place has a really sterling reputation with a Zagat rating. This was my first time dining here. Although the food was very good, I dont think it warrants 5 stars. The ambiance is fairly muted an appealing sparseness... low key and muted. I ordered the Tempura B. These were the high point of my meal. I also had the Lemon Chicken and was kind of disappointed. The chicken itself was a flat, breaded chicken cutlet, with an average, lemon, cornstarch thickened sauce. It was just, run of the mill, at best. Also, like nearly every restaurant in this entire viticulture crazy area, the wine list is pretty extensive and the bar offers a ton of mixed drinks. I know that Ill be eating here in the not too distant future, so Im hoping that different entrees bring dishes that I can rave about.

I absolutely will go back! Took my 9 yr old niece so i didnt get to explore the menu as much as Id like but the fish was fresh and the roll were well constructed & we presented. All our dishes came out super quick which is great when you have a very hungry kiddo. The service was exceptional and atmosphere is classic US sushi style.

Yikes. Service was awful. They kept taking our drink menu away after we had asked for it back many times. Then they said the ramen doesnt come with the traditional eggs!! What kind of ramen doesnt have eggs?? Kinda sucked because thats why I came there.We ended up getting the lemon chicken and bbq katsu chicken. Both which were very good. Mine was kinda doused in the lemon sauce which was unnecessary but oh well. Once we finished our meal the server had disappeared and another one came by. I separated our check by writing down what we both had on a piece of paper and she came back and had only put the coke on her tab and everything else on mine.... *Face desk* we wont be coming back.

Just came from lunch here and had to post. Sooo good! They have all kinds of sushi reasonably priced. And Japanese meals. (Their tempura is light and not greasy. ) bento boxes are great. And they have Chinese food too! And a full bar. Perfect. Good food. Fast and friendly service. Reasonable prices. Don’t miss. Actually kind of hard to find. It’s on the street just south of Montgomery Village and behind the fast food place.

This is our favorite sushi place in Sonoma County. When you walk in the door, the chef/ owner, Gary Chu, welcomes you from his station at the sushi bar where he seems to be every Saturday night. The food is excellent, and the service is impeccable.

Sushi is decent. However the service is terrible. I had to wait for the hostess to acknowledge my existence for about 2 min then she told we to wait. I was finally seated at the sushi bar and order my sushi, which is decent, overpriced but good quality. Then as I was eating they asked me to shift down a seat so I could sit on the corner of the bar so they could accommodate a party of 3. Which normally I would be ok with but this was not a seat meant to be shared with a complete stranger. Our knees hit under the bar and the guys elbow is practically in my food. So, I suggest take out if you plan to get sushi from here.

Food & cooking quality are way below average! Their seafood chow fun with 3 tiny shrimps, 1 little scallop, 2 small pieces of calamari, inexpensive veggies cost $17.50! Extremely small portion offered! Soft shell crab came with 2 tiny pieces cost $9.00! Their menu price is outrageously overpriced! At least the veggies werent overcooked! Rip-off! All show, no go!

Absolutely outstanding sushi here. We went on a Friday evening and the place was packed - rightfully so. They serve refillable mug - sized cups of Sencha tea, so the tea always tastes wonderful. I had the lemon chicken, which was also great. I highly recommend this Japanese restaurant.

The Beef Kushi is incredible, the Martini Prawns are amazing, the Crab Tacos are delicious. Of course, the sushi is just as different and amazing as all the other food. There are more interesting things on Osakes menu than in any other Japanese restaurant weve experienced.

First time here and we wanted it to be good. After moving here recently, we were looking forward to the meal based on reviews.On the positive side, the service was good. We were seated promptly even though we did not have a reservation. Our waitress was attentive and adusted our meal choices and tab when the rolls fell short of expectations. The wine list was better than Id seen at other Japanese resturants. The Maguro was very fresh and tasty and the Miso soup was good.The rest of the meal was disappointing. The specialty rolls arrived with flattened and gooey rice and bland fillings, making me think the rolls may have been made in advance and left sitting for a long time. The waitress removed this item from our bill after finding it largely untouched. I will say that the maguro was very good and the best dish of our meal. My husbands bento box missed all the nuances of traditional Japanese techniques we were expecting, like hot crispy tempura with cruncy texture and well-seasoned beef, cooked on high heat and served promptly. Instead the tempura was limp and lukewarm. The beef was lacking flavor and served room temperature. I will say that he finished the meal despite his complaints. So I guess it was passable for a hungry man.

This is my second review of Osake, where I have been eating for 10 years now, and Gary still hasnt given me my Free bowl of Edamame! Where do I start... Hmmm, attractive Asian wait staff (I wish his daughter would marry my son) generous cuts of fish with consistent quality. Gary Chu is a master. Ive been going for quite some time now and I currently live 115 miles away, but when I go home, I go to Osakes. Spicy tuna crunch, salt and pepper softshell prawns, foie nagi, heaven, and that tuna with miso and cucumber... you cant go wrong with anything they do.
