Food came surprisingly fast without taking away from the quality. Large portions with a generous amount of fish and a prefect thin layer of rice. Blown away by the generous size of rolls yet it not taking away from the taste. Usually large rolls consist mostly of rice, not here! Reasonably priced. Didnt think we would find a good sushi place so quickly in palm springs!

While visiting Palm Springs, I had sushi at two different places. This was by far my favorite. From the warm greeting upon entering, to the four experienced Japanese sushi chefs, I knew right away that I had made a good choice.I sat at the bar and ordered from the menu, which is the paper sheet style. Everything I got was fantastic! Some of the highlights were the fatty tuna, which they adorned with gold flake, sweet shrimp with the fried heads, and the eel. Everything else was also fresh and well prepared.The service was attentive, and the food came out quickly. I am an experienced sushi connoisseur, and can say that this place is the real deal.

Incredibly quick service!! The portions were very generous, and we got our food around 10 minutes after we ordered. Everyone there were very sweet and efficient, if you would ask for anything it would come to you very fast. I would definitely recommend this to others and Im planning to come back!

Located in a strip mall a short drive from Palm Springs. The sushi was excellent especially the eel hand roll. The delicious seaweed salad was served with crabmeat.The freshness of the sushi stood out. The salmon and yellowtail nigiri was also excellent. The light and crispy batter on the shrimp and vegetable tempura set it above others. The unexpected but delightful surprise was how good the green tea and fried banana dessert would be. The restaurant was packed on a Sunday night.

I hate giving this all the stars because I definitely wanna gatekeep, but this place is amazing. I’ve never had sushi melt in my mouth with such flavor. My gosh. Even though the edamame wasn’t the best — according to my friend, it was an off night — I didn’t care. It was that good. The service was spot on as well. I’ll definitely be back. 🤤

It was our third time here in the past few months. This place never disappoints us. The service is prompt, and staff is very pleasant and attentive. This place in my opinion, is the best in the desert. Very fresh sashimi! We got the 24 piece sashimi as one of our mains, it was fresh, well presented, and cut appropriate.

Ive lived in the Palm Springs area for almost 20 years now and have tried many sushi places throughout the valley. By far, Otori Sushi is still my favorite after 10+ years.The serving sizes are overly generous. The prices are reasonable (for the serving size). The food is sumptuous. The staff is friendly and always attentive.Ive traveled all across the country trying other sushi joints. And yet, this is STILL my favorite place.Currently, they are closed on Monday and only open for dinner hours (5pm - closing), so go get you some.

Dining at this establishment is always a delightful experience. The staff are friendly, attentive, efficient, and professional, and they take great care to ensure that every meal is perfect. The salmon is always fresh and the Carpaccio is both beautiful and delicious. The tempura shrimp is particularly noteworthy, as it is flavorful, not oily, crispy, light, and delicious. This was my first time trying Otori Sushi - and it was really good! The restaurant was clean, the service was great, and the food was fresh. I tried quite a few rolls and they were all delicious! Really good deal for the price. I got the combo plate with salmon teriyake, 4 pieces of chefs choice sushi, CA rolls, tempura, soup and salad. It was honestly enough for two people. It was so organized and fast. The CA rolls in particulare were perfect.I would say that I felt a bit rushed - and I was at the bar - because the staff seems to thrive on speed but I like to enjoy my meal. I politely asked if I could finish each course before the next and the waitress agreed.One othe rminor thing is that the tempurara, although delicious, should be allowed to rest on an absorbant surface before serving. Mine was visibly oily and lying in oil on the plate.I would definitely go back.

Three of us, 2 adults and a 9-year old, came for dinner on a Wednesday night. No reservations are accepted but there was no wait at 8pm since it was later.Location is in a strip mall but all the other businesses are close so tons of parking and not an issue to sit out side on the patio/sidewalk area like we did. Not high end, drinking water out of plastic cups.Good selection of appetizers, cooked items, rolls, sashimi, sushi, beers and saki.Service was 5 star and very attentive. Food quality is more a 3 or a 5 depending on what you order; so drags down rating overall to a 4. No wasabi put under the sushi for some cuts like more traditional sushi places.Hand rolls are huge, grilled yellowtail collar awesome and seaweed salad amazing. Kid loved the fried tofu and house saki a hit with the adults. Overall a great value and good place for kids.Would definitely come back with kids or for a casual dinner.

Iboth service and food seemed medeocre here. We ordered pot stickers and when I was chewing my last bite I pulled out a piece of hair from my mouth. I wanted to notify the server but no one stopped by until it was time to drop the check. Since I had finished the potsticker except for the last bite and we were ready to leave I didnt mention anything. Red dragon sushi was overly sweet. This is one of my favorite and I order this all the time, they overdid the sweet sauce. Miso soup was great, comforting, and tasty.

Love the happy hour, even though with some rolls, you only get half the portion for around half the cost, so are you really getting a deal? Anyway, food is always great. But if they are packed for happy hour, expect slow service. They DO try to get to everything quick (Diff waitresses will come by asking about drinks, clearing plates, etc.)

Otori has has won a special place amongst some of my favorite places to dine.At first, it may not look like much from the outside as it is on a far humble corner of a small shopping center but once inside you are greeted by the friendliest staff I have ever encountered. The ladies waiting tables are constantly making rounds checking on you and anything you might need or want... their suggestions are always pretty awesome. The front end, tables and booths (even the restrooms) are tidy and clean for guests at all times. Quick to take orders and wait times for food are usually short.The food is above and beyond expectations. All sushi is carefully hand-made and made to order... no frozen food here! I have been able to witness the cleanliness and organization of the sushi chefs behind the counter; they are the best at what they do. One of the owners is always behind the counter preparing food and is always attentive to the rest of his guest and staff the whole time.Prices for food is decently priced and has happy hour specials for late nighters.The times I have returned, the owner and the staff are always so pleasant and I appreciate that they remember you and personalize the service to YOU.Dōmo arigatō! どうもありがとう

You select your order on a order form which is nice, developing an impersonal relationship with the staff.Katy Perry’s greatest hits played throughout the restaurant during our visit, at first it was confusing. Why was Katy Perry playing? Once I heard my dad hum along to California Girls as I ate a shrimp tempura roll it all made sense. I won’t be back again because I’m here on vacation but I would recommend the place.

Located in a very humble corner of a plaza, dont let the outside fool you. It is a quaint little sushi restaurant that serves some top notch sake, especially the hot sake yum. We were warmly greeted, enjoyed some nice decor that adds to the ambiance and had some very good miso soup and some nice warm edamame. The sushi rolls whether you get something more authentic or more Americanized is all very good with fresh pops of flavor. Very well rounded recipes, way to go Otori, you may not be some big fancy place but your warm atmosphere and heartwarming dishes have won a place in our hearts and stomachs :)

Otori certainly subscribes to the quantity over quality of products. We ordered 5 sushi rolls amongst 3 of us and they were more than enough to quell our hunger; so much so that were glad that there was a mix-up over the two appetizers we ordered. Had they been brought to our table, we may not have been able to finish our meal.Back to the matter at hand, the sushi rolls were significantly larger than Ive seen in any other sushi restaurant. Their size may have affected their ability to stick together though as many of the specialty rolls would fall apart while getting picked. The red dragon and monster rolls were decent, but I had a problem with the aloha roll. The flavors, particularly with the sauce drizzled on top, seemed to clash and certainly overpowered any chance of tasting the fish.The staff were very attentive and nice; going as far providing complimentary edamame and miso soup for us. Overall a decent place.

And on top of that they text 18% tip on our receipt that we did not have an option to pay... my bill was only $45 before they added on the tip... my friend walked out paying $112 after they added on almost $20 tip! Weve been customers since they opened, I was even one of their first Yelp reviews! No pretention, no touristy nonsense, just affordable prices for incredibly delicious fresh fish! Please dont ever change. We live in Yucca Valley, and Im now in a wheelchair, so my husband mostly just gets takeout here for us to enjoy at home, since he works in the area. Last week we were able to dine in, as I had a late doctor appointment in Palm Desert, and it was a delicious treat. Portions are generous, and everything is just so GOOD. Not a single complaint! Ok, well, the hallway to get to their restroom is very difficult to maneuver in a wheelchair, so theres that, lol. But the food, impeccable. Thank you Otori, we love you.

I have been eating sushi @ otori sushi for about a year., with my family we have been eating sushi for 15 years all over. In the very beginning it was decent not the best r freshest but ok. Through out the times I was going I have nodest a change not only in the quality of the fish but also it not tasting fresh. I also knowdest that there was lil fish and a lot of rice. Any time they didnt make my order rite they never replaced it and never asked if they can fix it. I dont blame the servers I blame the owners. husband,wife of anyone goes there u should know who they both r. It seems to me that they just want to take advantage of there customers, not me and my family $ $ anymore I will never go there again. The next time u go there please look hard @ the quality as well as the quanity of size. They r ripping customers off. Also I see they r dirty....
