Ive kept my burger snob attitude because unless theres something special about it, to me its just another regular burger. On our way to Pinecrest CA, we stopped by the Outpost, a gas station mini Mart with a small restaurant serving appetizers, breakfast, and lunch menu items. We were looking for a quick bite en route to our final destination. What seemingly a step above fast food joint, located at a gas station mini Mart, we werent expecting food that will blow us away. I ordered the Outpost burger. It came with a perfectly cooked fresh patty, with white cheddar, grilled onions and chopped chiles. I also added onion rings on the side. My wife ordered the Tri-Tip sandwich with fries that was neither wedge, chip or string. Her sandwich came with an au-jus dipping sauce too. Both our sandwiches were cradled with homemade, baked on site bread rolls that was perfectly toasted. Needless to say, our meal was very good. We both believe it was the bread that made our sandwiches extra special tasting. Service was fast and friendly. Judging from the constant stream of customers and the repeated ring of the register, their business is hopping patronized by locals and travelers. The Outpost earned my highest praise. I highly recommend this stop over spot. We will certainly visit again next time we are heading towards Pinecrest through Soulsbyville.

👁 came here Labor Day weekend (2023) while staying with my Brother in Law in Twain Harte. I ordered 2 Big Country Breakfast Burritos 🌯, it was a 25 minute wait because it was Labor Day weekend.First of all, whoever owns this store (My wife was born & raised in Twain Harte, I know this store has been here for decades) - the owner needs to purchase a new toaster oven and a new microwave (owner = stingy). When i was waiting for my Burritos 🌯, the toaster oven caught on fire 🔥 - no joke, smoke filled the store❗️and the microwave took a ridiculously long time to heat up our Burritos, Burrito was $12.00, worth only (maximum) $8.00👎. The food prepping area needs to be cleaner, upgraded oven and microwave etc. And the food preparing people need to wear gloves when handling food. The owner needs to make these upgrades and then give his or her staff a major raise in pay 🙂‼️

Oh no! I usually love this place but today I received a super sloppy chicken sando, black lettuce, way too much mayo, and just a hint of the chipotle sauce on what was supposed to be a Chipotle Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Wet fries. And bland mac salad. Someones cutting corners here and its becoming obvious. Stop it Outpost, youre better than this!

Had to change my review to 1 stars because of 1 employee. My only issue is with the native chick in the deli, she always has the crappiest attitude. She clearly hates her job, the customers, doing her job is a inconvenience and she wants to make it known. I ordered my food to go, it was brought to me on a plate, no big deal but when I told her it was a to go order she throws attitude like it was my mistake. Ive literally never eaten at the outpost, 100.00% of my orders are take out. Accept you made a mistake and carry on with your day, no big deal. Literally all the other employees are awesome, never had a issue here except with her. In fact the taller guy with the beard and glasses that works mornings has some of the best customer service Ive seen anywhere. Always very nice and helpful. Sucks that one person can drive customers away. Ill come back when shes gone!!

Awesome burgers around the $10 range (better than $15+ burgers elsewhere), I recommend the Outpost burger. Fries super cheap when ordered with a burger. Seasoned fries recommended. Onion rings were good too. Theres also prepackaged sandwiches, and burritos to heat up at home.

Place is okay for a gas station. They have a decent grill inside. Biggest complaint is gas prices. They are usually always the highest in the county and pray on the tourist coming up the hill seeming like that last gas station.

SUPER friendly service. Great prices! We ordered three burger meals all with potato salad and extra side of fries for $31. Burgers were good sized, you definitely wont be hungry after one of these! The side of potato salad was also generous. Fries are really good, nice crunch without being over cooked. I could have done with out the extra added salt though. Overall impressed by this burger joint / gas station.

Great place.. Great food made upon order. I mean they got it all. From all the breakfast foods( pancakes, biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, muffins and croissants) to burgers (they make their own buns), french dips, nachos, homemade chili and everything else you can think of. Or they have a hot tray type deal that usually has breakfast muffins, burritos and croissants in the morning. Inside tables for eating there if youd like. And, of course, amazing customer service. Go there and tell them Travis sent you...maybe if that happens enough theyll start giving me some free food or something.

My husband and I wanted a good burger but most places that we go to were closed on New Years Day. He googled best hamburgers and the Outpost popped up. We found that odd as the Outpost is a gas station/store. But the reviews said to try it so we trusted the reviews and went for it. Im so glad we did. Putting hamburger joints and sandwich places into gas stations is very popular lately.I have sampled the gas station burgers and sandwiches that we have here in Tuolumne county.The Outpost is by far the best. Trying to get propane filled at the Outpost has been a hassle almost every time. Normally I have 5 gallon tanks filled, and 3 out of the 4 visits, it was either too late, too early, or they were too busy. I have also had a 25 gallon tank filled twice. The last time a nice older gentleman filled it right next to the car so we could easily get it in the back. Today I placed the tank in the same spot, and a very rude younger man came out and just said “eh eh”, and picked it up and brought it closer to the filling station. After it was full, I asked how we are going to get now 150 pound tank back to the car. He said “you grab one end, I will get the other”. I said, it’s very heavy and I don’t want to slip in the mud. He responded with, “Well I don’t want to drag my hose in the mud” and just picked it up and put it in my car. (that was very impressive)I won’t be back
