We ordered the following:Cold noodles with chicken slices (medium round noodle) andLanzhou hand pulled noodles (belt wide noodles)You can select the noodle size, which has a big impact on the look of the dish (keep in mind when assessing the pics) and the dining experience. The belt wide noodles are literally the width of a belt. Theyre delicious but because of the width and length of the noodles, it requires additional handling to eat -- nothing major. But if youre famished, id suggest a smaller noodle for faster eating.The food was delicious. It didnt seem too salty. The ambience was clean but no frills, except for the map of the silk road which was educational. If you like simple yet delicious food (and geography), check out Ox 9.

Very busy at weekday late afternoons! I was very surprised but happy to see theyre doing well :)The food was delicious except the spice level is all over the place:A mild beef soup noodles was without ANY spice. We asked them and they said its just mild (we think they got the order wrong but dont wanna make us another)...Meanwhile, the mild chili oil noodles was extremely spicy, and garlic-y. Went here on a Friday afternoon and I can’t tell this place is pretty popular with the locals as it was pretty much full. Ordered the soybean paste dry noodles (large flat) and my co-workers ordered the Sichuan braised stew noodles. I really enjoyed the dry noodles and I can tell how fresh the noodles were. They were a little soft but still had a chew that had great mouth feel. My co-workers also enjoyed their soup and I even received a bit of soup on the side that came with my dry noodles so I can tell how flavorful their broths are. I highly recommended this place and really appreciate how you can customize the noodle size for all of the dishes (dry or soup). Thai tea was good too! :)

Pretty excellent soup broth! I ordered the Classic Lanzhou Handpulled Noodles with Small Flat Noodles. I was shocked by how well the noodles were able to soak up the flavorful broth. Very hearty and filling, the beef slices were so tender and the noodles werent too doughy! I definitely recommend the flat noodles, and you can watch the noodle chef prepare the noodles and knead dough in the open kitchen as well. Thats as fresh as it gets!I will note that the amount of chili oil they add is not consistent across the board. It was quite noticable that my broth was significantly more red than others at my table.They also advertise at their front door that they are featured in the Michelin Guide, so thats pretty note worthy!KEEP IN MIND: Indoor dining only, or you can order on their self service kiosk for takeout! Most tables inside are suited for parties of 6 people or less. You may need to consult with the hostess if you plan to bring a lot of people.

I got the beef fried flat noodles and they were amazing with chili crisp on them. Its a little small in here but the food comes out steaming fast and the staff was very nice. My friend got the pork and chive dumplings, they were big and very flavorful with the vinegar sauce. 10/10 would recommend and am planning to go back and take pictures.

Came here on a Saturday night at 5:15 and there was no wait so this was a super great and fast experience. Ive been wanting to come here for a while now so Im glad that I could come.Good:The place has many noodle options and the food comes out quickly after you order from a QR code.I really liked my chili oil wide noodle dish - it was tasty and wasnt actually that spicy so my weak spice tolerance could still handle it. It was also just so tasty and I was surprised at how tasty it was given the limited ingredients. The wide noodles are so chewy.I also really liked the chili wontons since they had a similar taste as the chili oil noodles.Bad:The noodles are so long that you have to cut it up a bit yourself because if you took a whole noodle, it would be so long that it gets a bit messy.The stewed lamb noodles are a bit bland.Overall would come again! I really love noodles and this place delivered on yummy noodles and great texture and fast service.

I really enjoyed the food here! I got the medium round Lanzhou hand pulled noodles. My friend got the wide noodles in the beef and pickled vegetable broth which were also good. I really liked the appetizers too like the pig ear, basil chicken, fried bread, and especially the wonton in chili oil. The chili oil here isnt very spicy so dont worry if you dont have a high spice tolerance. Food also arrived super fast.

Their noodles are all hand pulled and you could choose different sizes. We tried the medium round and regular round. We like the latter more. Their signature Lanzhou beef noodle is very good. It has very good flavor. You can’t choose how spicy it is. It came as mild. But you can add their house chilly sauce which itself is also very good. The stewed lamb noodle soup is not spicy but very flavorful. The waiter (Eason?) was very friendly.

OMG... Cant say enough about this place. Came in 45 before closing and the staff was amazing, so was the food. Had enough left over to eat for lunch the next day. This is an experience to have. I have heard a lot about this place but I could only come here on a weekday for lunch with my colleague. Its a very busy place so I always advise that you come early for lunch. You will also see its a fast moving place because the rush comes in and goes fast as well. I was able to order with the help of my colleague as they have had experience and they had good choices to select with. This cuisine is all over Asia and in the US and Europe as well. It was interesting to know the history and where the food and spices came from in that historic period of time. I enjoyed the experience and would suggest coming here when youre really hungry and have a big appetite as the noodles are tasty as well and you can stuff it all. I had ordered beef noodle soup and it was delicious. I will definitely recommend this place.

Nothing better than a warm bowl of noodle with delicious soup and well tuned chilly oil on the side. The other dish with translucent noodle was made of potato. The texture was totally different from rice noodle.If you wish heavy spiciness, you’d better ask for some spices stronger. The regular chilly oil is bot spicy at all. It adds mostly fragrance.

Decent Chinese restaurant. Chilli oil noodle (dry) with chicken was flavorful but then it was a bit cold. Noodles were too lengthy. The chicken lacked a bit of taste. The steamed wontons were juicy and good.The service is really good. They sensed that we were struggling with the lengthy noodle and gave us a scissor to cut the noodles.Ambience is lively. The Sichuan beef noodle soup was so nice on a rainy day. It was not spicy at all, the chilli oil tasted great and added the kick I was looking for. The thick noodles are a little hard to eat with this soup as they are VERY long and tangled. The basil popcorn chicken is a must. Sliced chicken on the cold noodles was awful though.

I only just discovered this place, but everything Ive had here so far has been absolutely delicious. the wontons in chili oil are soft and tender and very flavorful, and the braised Szechuan beef soup with my preferred small flat noodles is definitely a repeat order. Even the basil popcorn chicken is delicious. this place is no frills, but great food had an affordable price. I will be going back here for many years.

The food was fast. You order at the table, each one has a qr code specific to your table. They have a variety of noodle and non noodle dishes. Prices are reasonable for the portions. The 2 of us split:1) appetizer of sliced spicy beef (cold dish on top of a pile of cucumbers, for someone who doesnt like spice, this was not spicy)2) cold noodle with chicken slices (sauces are on the side so you can decide if you want chili oil) of the regular thickness noodles which are spaghetti sized3) juicy pork burger, the bun was good, the meat definitely had a lot of dripping juices that leaked into the wax bagService was standard though they were good about refilling water, they didnt let us split the check which was a little disappointing but otherwise fine.

Huge disappointment! I thought this place would be nice with 4ish star ratings . I ordered lamb noodle soup, poor lamb must have escaped the kitchen. I had few little chunks of meat, kind of symbolic. The noodle was mushy. Worst of all, soup was watery, tasteless!They use Melamine soup bowls, Melamine is banned in certain countries for hot food. It is known bad to health especially it is used for holding hot liquid.

Went here on a whim because the other place we wanted to go still is on take-out only. We wanted to dine in. It was a cold Thursday evening. Hot soup is the thing to do.We didnt quite know what to expect, this being our first time there. The waiter recommended the classic beef with medium-sized hand-pulled noodles. The noodles are definitely hand-pulled, as we can see from the irregularities in each strand. Also, you can see the staff working in the see-through kitchen, making the noodles.The beef is as some of the other reviewers noted: A little on the blaise/bland side. There is also a thin layer of chili oil covering half the noodle bowl. Though my body has issues processing food that is too spicy, I had zero issues from eating here.We also ordered the beef tendons. Hoping to see big globs of tender, soft tendons, we were a bit bummed to see that it was sliced thin, like deli meats. It was also cold. Being that were used to the Cantonese way of eating this (hot, goey and infused with a ton of flavors), it took some getting used to. I would say the tendons were good, with just the right texture of chewy and springyness. It was not goey, like youd find in beef stews. Flavor is not as intense as one finds in beef stews but still good.Service is as one can expect in places like this. Once the waiter brought us our food, he never again checked in on us for the hour or so we were there.Yes, they take credit cards.

Just had a great meal from Lanzhou noodles down in Arcadia, and passed by this restaurant. Decided to see if my local one is as good as the one in SoCal.I was able to walk in to a table that just opened up. The waitress took my order while we waited for the table to be wiped down. I got their signature beef noodle dish. As for the thinness, I usually get thin noodles, but decided to get the thinnest option just to see how well they do pulling it that thin.The food came out lightning fast! I hadnt even had time to catch up to my social media feed XD The noodles are thin alright, and fairly uniform. Though I felt the composition of the dish could be improved. There was a LOT of noodles, and just a few pieces of beef and daikon (which I dont eat but thats my own issues). I think youre supposed to order some side dishes, or maybe you can add some extra veggies into the bowl? As is served there was just way too much noodles to topping ratio. Also the beef was a little tough, which was disappointing as my beef from the Arcadia restaurant was super tender.I do have to say the broth was excellent. I usually dont order the clear broth, but wanted to give that a try since that is their signature broth. I was always afraid that being clear it would have little flavor, but I was totally wrong on that count! The broth was very tasty indeed.Since Im in this area a lot, I probably will come back and try some more dishes. Next time I will order some side dishes to complement the noodle bowl!

As someone from Lanzhou I can confirm it’s the most authentic Lanzhou niu rou (beef) mian (noodle) in the Bay Area. Service is fast, the broth is great. Noodle could be more chewey but overall. The beef is tender just like I remembered it. Guys if you complain they give you too little meat, I can assure you this is what happens in Lanzhou as well. most of the times the noodle won’t even come with beef unless you add extra.I haven’t found a better noodle place yet in the Bay Area except maybe QQ noodle.Edit: I see a lot of reviews saying the wait time is long. A bit too spicy for my tastebuds. You do need to make sure that if you do do takeout, the noodles will get stuck together and might not taste as good. Portions are fair to generous, 1 bowl was enough for me, the rest in my party had left overs. Price is fair to good deal considering this is Cupertino. Place is pretty small, cafe style not good for large groups. Most tables fit 4 people. Parking is pretty limited, might need to park next plaza over and walk over. Weekends is super busy.

Almost everything is VERY spicy. Not feeling like having spicy the other nite, I had the lamb meat noodle soup. Now I know why they put so much spice in everything: It has no taste other wise. Tried their soup noodle with the signature beef broth and lamb stew. Both tasted fine. The flavor is on the mild side which I appreciate. But I had higher hope for the texture of tbe fresh noodle. They turned out to be nothing special.That being said, I would advise other diners to NOT trust their estimated wait time. We ordered over the phone and were told our order would be ready in 25 minutes. We ended up waiting for more than 90 minutes for our to-go order. Id have no issues waiting for 90 min if they said so. But it was really a bad experience when the estimates they gave were so off.Also during all that time, we saw them pushed out maybe 8 orders total. So something was seriously wrong with their operations/management.

The noodles were delicious. Im giving three stars because they told us it would be a 50 minute wait and we ended up waiting another 25 minutes after we got there. I wouldnt mind as much if the estimated wait time was accurate, but every time I went in to check, they said, Just a little longer, and 25 minutes is not just a little longer in my mind. I did enjoy watching them hand make each batch of noodles, and the results were really good. Hopefully the wait time prediction gets more accurate. It’s a large serving portion and I usually share with my husband. Lots of sliced beef! Lanzhou noodle is always my favorite food and my childhood memory. I think this is the most authenticate Lanzhou noodle I can find in the US!!! I really love it. I can taste the spices are deliberately used to make the beef broth. The spicy oil is the soul of the noodle, which is not just plain spicy but has a savory scent. The radish really refreshes the taste. Overall, I’m very satisfied with it and I’ll revisit more often! I’m glad they open another branch at Cupertino!

They just soft opened about 2 weeks ago. I dont know why people are so picky for a new restaurant. Ive been waiting there for about 20 minutes as well. (Total time from online order to pick up is about 1 hour. )However, the noodle are hand made and authentic of the style. Food is really good! However, it is badly understaff and even they have empty table they can’t not sit you. Also, it seems they prioritize big party than small one like one or two. So if you come alone or just two people, be prepared to see big party come and sit right immediately while you wait for 20 minutes. I don’t normally see other restaurant do this but this is kind of annoying.

Noodles are great but service was eh. Actually, there was no service at all. Seats were outside of the building and they gave us our food just like take outs, with plastic containers. No water was offered and we had to head back in to ask for spoons. I guess I probably shouldn’t tip them. Oh and it’s been 4 months since their soft opening but the banner is still there.

Was hoping for amazing Lanzhou noodles.... But it was just so so, unfortunately. The noodles themselves are quite amazing in terms of texture and freshness... But the broth and the sauces are quite lacking. The spicy meat sauce was Not spicy at all but quite sweet that i couldnt finish it.

Ordered the Lanzhou beef noodle soup for about $18 on takeout app. Had high hopes but probably wont return. I liked the chewy noodles. the soups was ok, I guess, probably had MSG. The part that let me down was there was so little meat and almost no veggie. Just 4 tiny and thin slices of meat and 3 tiny paper thin slices of radish. Way below par compared to the photos (even other visitors photos).Im not kidding. if I were cooking this at home, the stuff I got was enough to fill 1 spoon. I know inflation, take out apps, bla bla. But at such bad value, its simply just worth eating here. Sorry.

First, the noodles are utterly amazing. You can watch them being made, and they are perfectly toothy. Go here for the noodles!But the accompaniments disappoint. Aside from the noodles, the lamb chow mein reminded me of much cheaper places. It lacked umami flavor.

I ordered the Lanzhou Handpulled Noodles, Regular Round, and was absolutely floored but what I got.. Noodles had the perfect amount of elasticity, chew and hardness, the soup broth was incredibly delicious with just the right amount of Chinese Five Spice without being over powering, and the spicy oil was a little on the sweet side, but otherwise I felt the heat on throughout my body and a pleasing numbness to the tongue.I also ordered the Spicy Wontons. Do not skip on the Spicy Wontons. Like the noodles, the spicy oil was just the right amount of spice and sweet so you will find yourself not being able to stop eating them. Which isnt a bad thing when you considering a single order is 10 wontons.

Tried the chili oil wide noodle.Two differences between this place and QQ. The noodles here feel heavier/heartier but QQ has a lot more chew to it.That being said the base/broth of these noodles here are also much stronger and heavier, whereas I feel like QQ has flavor but it’s moderately balanced with the noodles.Lanzhou definitely feels heavier than QQ. So just based on what type you like. They’re very different.
